The lights were out on the outside and I thought they were closed but that was not the case. I made them aware of it and they knew that the lights were off... hmmm! The food is always good but the portions seem to be cutting back considerably. Meanwhile, the prices... The service is ok.

The have good fish but funky attitudes. I remember when they were a hole in the wall with no dine in seating...those apparently were their more humble days. The could garner a far more favorable review of their staff was friendly & didn't act like you were interrupting their day.

This is a nice little local seafood joint. There is nothing fancy about it. There was a bit of a wait but others were in front of me and they make your meal to order. The catfish, cole slaw and hush puppies were all good.

The food is okay but I want to be able to have access to a restroom where ever I am spending my money. Where there is seating, there must be some accommodations for those people in case they need to relieve themselves. When the customer has to go outside on the property to piss, this is unacceptable! Period. I will not be back!

The food wasn't as good as it has been in the past. Which is a letdown since the process are a bit steep. My okra was overcooked and wasn't seasoned. The fish was good and since that is what we came for I'll still give 4 stars. The restaurant was pretty dirty though including the bathrooms and nobody cleaned any tables the entire time we were there. The staff was friendly and accommodating.

This restaurant has the BEST catfish I've ever had!! All of the ladies that work there are so sweet & helpful (Lataska is the sweetest)!!!! I live far from this place, but anytime I'm in Kansas I make sure to take the time to go and get some great food. They give you really nice portions and the sides are yummy as well. I also love the shrimp boil. It taste so good! I'm not one who usually eats spicy food, but their shrimp is to die for. This is my FAV place to go to for this type of food.

A moment of prayer for black managed businesses. God, why do some have to be so so so ghetto? I visited here today for the first time. I arrived at 8:35 PM. Walking through the door I immediately received stares, dirty looks and whispers. I think the food was good. I say that because I really didn't have time to finish my meal before the lady came out to our table at 9:01 with an attitude to rudely ask us to leave because they closed at 9:00. I wasn't going to leave until the police showed up or I finished eating my food. But since the other members of my party were now uncomfortable. I got up and left. I'm not the smartest person in the world but if I want people out at 9 on the dot, then maybe I need to lock the doors at 8:30 instead of getting confrontational about it. God please let some professionals manage this place so it can shine like it deserves to.

This restaurant and staff have gone down hill! I live out east in Independence MO and anytime I want fried fish, I ONLY come here, it's been well over 10 years and it seems every year they change a major production/product issue. No call ins after 8pm. They can't cook bone in fish after 8pm. They used to have the most friendly, respectable, older black women workers that knew me and my mom by name!! Now all they have are young rude employees that stare and half ass want to work. Very Disappointed in what they have become in regards to service, food, and value.

Maybe they have new owners not sure . I’ve been coming for years for the greens and cornbread and catfish. Tonight it was bad. There was most certainly not cornmeal in that muffin. Greens were not good, not seasoned well didn’t see any onions or anything. Use to be the bomb

Disappointing. Only fish restaurant left in town. I had never been there before and had heard people bragging on it. More crunchy coating then meaty fish and we got there at 7:30 and they closed at 8 and we were informed there couldn't be any more in House dining because of an automatic alarm system so we had to take our food to go. Pretty sure we won't try that again.

The fish is outstanding and the prices reasonable. But depending on who you talk too on pickup orders the person answering the phone is really rude. I’ve only called once and got someone pleasant on the phone. Most times I call in the evening and the woman answering the phone really makes me want to gang up in her face. Taking an order should not make you want to be rude fir no reason.

Fish did not taste done, fries looked like they were cooked in old grease and my green beans had a date of 1-23-18 written on the container which was well over 2 weeks old when they served them to me. I called twice and they never answered the phone.

Friday afternoon, kind of busy, however it was about a 15 min wait. Once we got home the order was exactly what we ordered. We had the catfish dinner with 2 sides. The food was fresh, hot and tasty. The service was good.
