As you know, we do not usually bother to write reviews when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Fish Shop is included in the category of Seafood restaurant.
Great food, excellent service. Definitely a place we'll frequent.
The espresso machine has been broken for years the staff keeps trying to make it work.
Food was not great. Had filet and shrimp scampi. Average. Server was nice.
Prices are way too high the fish was way too small it was a square like the size of a McDonald's fish but my girl like turn me on but I don't remember what it was but the bill was over $100
I typically get the same thing yellow Fin Tuna grilled. I have been several times. It seems that the fillets were consistently sized or I just happen to always get a similar fillet cut. Lately, the fillets vary drastically in shape and thickness. The consistency of the cook vary greatly. It seems when the fillets are the normal 1.5" cut the cook is closer to my medium likeing but when it's the 2.5" "fillet mignon" shaped cut it's really on the raw side. Like maybe 1/8th inch cooked on each side. I do not mind 1/8th inch red center with the majority of each side cooked. I also do not like to send food back so I will just eat it. One of the servers I had was trying to recommend the rare cook. I do not mind a medium rare with a lean towards the medium side but rare on a 2.5" cut seems to be sushi for the most part. He claimed they prefer rare for yellow Fin. I get that you do not want to over cook the fish .... But it would be nice for it to just be consistent.
Get your seafood fix after a long day of shopping. The food was delicious, highly recommend the cedar plank salmon.
Excellent food and service
Pleasantly surprised! Went for our anniversary dinner, was actually a second choice because first place was overbooked. We'll be back again, food was amazing as was our waitress.
Wonderful food and good service! Will be back soon!
We popped in around an hour before closing. We sat at a booth in the bar. Our waiter, John, was really great. He was very knowledgeable about the menu. My steak came out a bit raw for my taste and I sent it back. chef came out to ensure how I wanted my state cooked and brought it back within just a few minutes perfectly cooked. The dinner was lovely.
Efficient and fast friendly service
Surprised they were open on the eve of Christmas Day (open 365 apparently)! Great atosphere and bar area. Only downside is that the fish entree I ordered was under cooked. If it wasn't for that it would definitely be 5 stars.
We love this place! Service is always great and so is the food! However we were there last night and I got my usual shrimp scampi. It was good However used to be better. There was a ton of shrimp however the sauce was a little bland and they changed the noodle from what used to be angel hair now to more of a fettuccine noodle which changed the whole dish. Guess I’ll have to try something else next time.
Excellent food with a wide variety to choose from. The service is always great as well. I love the lobster tails! They also have very good steaks and great bread to come with the meal. This is definitely a restaurant that stands out from most!
We love this place. Their oysters and entrees are delicious. We're obsessed with the sour dough type bagette you get when you order dinner
Great food...staff there is very efficient and friendly...
Had a very nice experience on my first visit. Staff friendly. Food was great. Definitely recommend this restaurant
The seafood salad was awesome
Food was very good. Customer service is great. I would definitely go again.
Wonderful good. Great service!
Very good and filling great place to have a good lunch/dinner.
Our main reason to travel to Brookfield,Wisconsin! Bar food drinks dinner and desserts are hard to beat! On top of that service is grand!
Have been a few time. I've tried something different each time and have never been disappointed. The appetizers, fish, stake, desserts, all fantastic. The nautical theme atmosphere is amazing. I love the swordfish sculpture just inside the main entrance. A little pricey for a weekly family outing but not so bad that once and awhile would break you. All in all, definitely worth the money.
Supposed to be the best fish in chip it was not.
Terrible name. I expected dead but as-yet inedible fish when I looked it up. Will not get hooked again.
Great food, great service
The food is good but the service is awful this is the 2nd time we have been here I sat for 30 mins and they came to tell me that what I ordered they were out of I feel like we could have been told sooner as we have been here for a hour and still no food our waitress took forever to get our bread I jus don't think we will be comin back here they need to improve on the service here ive done server before and the amount of ppl our waitress had was no excuse for how terrible she was we were her 3rd table and the others were small as well
Food was not worth the price. I feel I got half the food I paid for. Service was slow. Would not recommend this place
We had a great meal.
Great selection.
Great special for club members. 49 dollar date night with steak and desert for 2 people. Waited longer than expected given club perknof preferred seating and reservation.
Super slow service. I was sitting with my Friend at a different table than our parents. The waiters kept skipping over us, it was like we didn’t exist. They took our orders 10 minutes later than everyone elses. They give us kids menus just because we are short (5 foot). The fish tasted like it was from McDonald’s. The pasta was ok. They didn’t ask for our orders for desert, so we tried to hunt down people. They walked past us and ignored my voice. We had to ask someone else to hunt down the waiters. When she came, she didn’t care. The dessert was the best part although there was a hair in it. Very disappointed and don’t plan on coming back.
We had dinner this past Tuesday and very disappointed in the service. We waited more than an hour to receive our meal and then mine was incorrect. I ate it anyway because I did not want to wait another hour to get it corrected. The staff apologized for the poor service more than once but did not offer any compensation for our wait. I realize that there was a party off in a separate room but the rest of the restaurant was not real busy. If you can’t handle having large groups, why offer it with a separate room. Mitchell’s is an upscale restaurant or at least try’s to be and this type of experience should not occur at that type of restaurant.
Great Food at a reasonable price
Disappointed. Used to frequent this restaurant until year ago, tried it recently and food was overcooked, service in the bar area was not good, and drink pours are horrible, sent my mixed drink back for a beer, couldn't taste any alcohol. I expect more the the price
My fiancé and I love oysters so we’re very pleased to find this place a couple of weeks ago. While there we tried the clam chowder and lobster bisque. Everything was so good we decided to get to-go last night. We ordered more of the soup and a few other things. To our surprise the soup container were less than half full. When contacting the restaurant to explain this I just had 2 different people trying to explain to me why I’m incapable of determining the size of an order, you know not like I’ve had it before.
Seafood very good but portions small. Sourdough bread is the worst. Waited a long time for a cocktail. Wait staff a little dense.
My Lobster Bisque was yummy! My Salmon and rice was very good. Asparagus was a bit under cooked. The appetizers... Calamari was ok, a small portion and dry, and the Artichoke dip was great. Everyone else seemed satisfied with the food overall. A salad was sent back. Happy hour was advertised on the board as you entered, but none available. It was very busy, Mother's Day, at the dinner hour.
Very seldomly do I have a bad meal here but tonight was the night! Long wait for our food and the meal was not worth $100. I'm not a bad cook and could've prepared a better meal even my sons garlic butter pasta wasn't prepared well
Went for a quiet lunch. Service and food was excellent. I’ve been to this location often and have never been disappointed with the quality of food and attention to detail. Our lunch was on Thursday May 30th the restaurant was empty, but we were treated like gold.
The service was terrible, the shrimp cocktail was very over cooked and was not devained. The waiter was MIA most of the night charged us for a meal we did not have the manager response was well maybe he was busy I had to ask her to take the meal we did not have off our bill and still waited for the correct check 25 minutes and still no waiter. Just A very Very bad night of good and service. To end on a positive the weather was fantastic for a August night in Indiana.
Food was great. Service was good though a tad slow
Ok but pricey
I need to come back for a dinner here because the appetizers I had during a happy hour were really amazing. It’s not cheap, but a return trip is definitely on the menu.
Seafood is not as.freah as they claim. Over priced. Kroger has a better selection of fish. Deserts are great. Employees are treated badly especially in the kitchen. Overheard a chef yelling at employee over a minor problem
We had a wonderful time at Mitchell's today. We celebrated mother's day with my wife and and our youngest daughter, who both happened to be absolutely incredible mothers. The food at Mitchell's was excellent and the service was impeccable. A young gentleman named Collin was our server today. He knew his job extremely well he could explain everything on the menu and check several times to be certain he had answered all of our questions. Collin knew everything about the desert menu also, which was extremely handy when all the ladies decided they would have dessert. Including our very loquacious 4 year old granddaughter. I hope we're lucky enough to have Collin as our server on our next visit.
Food wasn't up to par as usual. Salad tasted funny and they served a second salad on a very evident chipped bowl.
Always have a good meal here. The crab legs were very dry this time which was shocking. But the Shark Fin makes up for it.
I liked the flavor on all of the food. When you're in a fish market, well, it will smell like a fish market. And will likely have very few other options that are not fish. So if you're considering bringing someone that does not like fish, there will be no appetizers and limited selections for non-fish entrees. The service and staff were fantastic. Also, because the fish is fresh caught, it will taste amazing, but portion sizes are going to be smaller than what you might see at a place that serves farm raised fish. If you love seafood, you'll love Mitchell's.
The fish fry and blackened Mahi Mahi was great.
The staff was wonderful and very helpful, the food was delicious we WOULD definitely go back!!!
The food is exceptional. Jennifer was a great server. I highly recommend the ahi tuna rice bowl.
Food was decent but over priced for the quality. Servce was attiquate, but not spectacular. Waitress has several good tips that boosted the experiences. Primary issue was at payment for the bill. I attempted to use a $25 gift card towards the bill I received a few years back. The gift card does not have a expiration date. It is for Mitchell's. The manager would not honor the card as their parent company has changed hands, per the waitress . I paid for our meal and vowed never to spend any more of my money with this company. I find this policy to be unacceptable.
Lobster mac & cheese. Nothing more needs to be said. Service was pretty awesome too.
It was very expensive but the food was delicious.
Great service but menu is misleading. Be careful when ordering.
Food and service was great on Christmas Eve just as it was on my first visit!
My date and I set down at about 9pm, which is an hour before closing. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and did not leave us to feel rushed. I appreciate the options provided customers for how the fish will be prepared either by pan sear, blackened, Caribbean, broiled, grilled or cedar plank. The variety of preparations come with set menu sides for each style preparation. I think it's fun to try variation in preparation to complement the dining experience. Ambiance is inviting with dark wood colors, plenty of space and dim lighting. I did find the booth seating to be a bit worn on the ends where people apparently normally sit and found myself moving closer against the wall where the booth padded booth seating was a little more firm. The food was tasty. Service was a little bit slow but nothing unacceptable, yet surprising given it was a Wednesday evening, not crowded and late. I'm certain to return to sample another one of the many interesting and delicious sounding options on the menu.
Really good ocean Cobb salad
Routinely enjoy the food and atmosphere. Wide variety of seafood choices.
How sad is it that we could have had better service and better food at Red Lobster? It is VERY sad, I expect so much more from Mitchells. Tasteless calamari, rubbery shrimp, asparagus so tough I needed a steak knife to cut it. The crab stuffing in my flounderwas horrible. We saw the waitress twice after she took our order. Once to bring us bread (great bread!). And the other to take our check. No one ever came and checked to see if our food was okay. Yes we could have flagged someone down but didn't. Instead we'll just take our $$ to Bonefish.
Mitchell’s Fish Market does not disappoint. I was there for a quick lunch, so I just had the Salmon, Shrimp and Scallops combination as well as a house salad. Everything was delicious and looked great. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. The place is clean and was not too busy when I was there. I imagine it gets busy for dinner, so reservations might be a good idea on special nights. Recommended. Bechego #bechego
Great Food & Service ..
Food was decent, but service was beyond bad. Waited 15 minutes to get a waiter. Another 10 minutes for drinks to come out. Restaurant wasn't busy. Wife ordered steak and lobster. 15 minutes after meals came out and lobster was already eaten they brought out butter for the lobster and a steak knife. Then, paid cash and was short changed. Definitely won't be a returning customer. Not sure about the 4 star rating they received.
Very delicious , I would definitely recommend this restaurant..
Food was ok, not as good as I expected for the price. Service was slow, orders were incorrect multiple times. Server was never around to fix them. Manager did little to solve the problem.
Service and atmosphere was excellent, food was great, great selection of fish. My only negative would be the hushpuppy were not crunchy enough. But all and all very enjoyable evening.
It was awesome. Our server Lauren took care of us for valentines dinner
I love seafood, and Mitchell's delivers a fantastic meal. Easily one of my favorite places to get food. It's just a little pricey.
Smelled "fishy" when we entered. The shrimp and scallops we're good but the cod was fishy ( not tasting fresh). The hush puppies were great. The service was good. This was a restaurant I really enjoyed years past, not so much now
Excellent food, well prepared. Very congenial wait Staff.
My husband and I were in this past Saturday. It was really busy so we decided to sit at the bar to eat. We could tell that the bartenders were very busy and seemed a bit overwhelmed but they said they would be with us in a minute and the were. They were friendly and helped us decide what we should try, we had only been there one other time. We were not disappointed. The food, our drinks and service were fantastic, we will definitely be back to see them!
Lunch menu was a nice selection. Food was not hot when it was served.
Quiet on a saturday lunch. Food and service is average.
Service was great. Food was overpriced for what you get. The standouts were the clam chowder and Shark fin pie.... So you're better off going to the public market for fresh clams and dessert for a quarter of the price you'd pay here.
Poor food quality. Loud atmosphere. Non tentative wait staff. Will not return and it's a shame.
Gonna miss that place
Very good food. Service was impeccable! I will be back
Very good food, kinda pricey especially for the area, but upscale and nice atmosphere
Always excellent service and food
Wow! This place is the only reason you need to visit one the last remaining malls in this world. Everything is about 1-3$ more than I would expect. But it’s worth it. Everyone from the hostess to our awesome waitress Hiedi were great. The swordfish was very very good. Blackened. The Seafood Sampler was good, but the scallops were a little more sandy than I’ve experienced ever before. Id still get it again. And the Angels Manhattan, holy cow. Get that. Go there just for that. We live super far away, and can’t wait to go back. Ha. We went for lunch and were able to get out of there for less than 90$, with desert drinks and cocktail. Worth it. I really hope this place stays around and I regret taking this long to find it.
Good food. Good quality and the creme brulee was great!
Great lunch menu and top rate service.
Sat in the bar on thanksgiving day and the service was great. Friendly bartender, and good support staff to take care of everything we needed. We love that they are open on holidays and will probably return for Christmas dinner.
Wonderful atmosphere, super friendly staff and the food was amazing!
Great food and service. Reasonable happy hour prices
My seared Chilean seabass was buttery good!
Great food, nice servers and great atmosphere. Little expensive, but seafood done right isn't cheap.
The seafood options are decent. Slightly overpriced though. Stay away from anything other than seafood though. Unknowingly ordered a chicken Parmesan once and it was just ... horrendous!!
Love this place. Have never had a bad meal here. They know how customer service should be as well. Other restaurants should use their customer service as training. They are the total package. Great food and great service. Always a pleasure.
The food is amazeballs...but save room for the shark fin pie or you have wasted your life
Mitchell's Market Trio is broiled Sixty South Antarctic salmon, grilled shrimp, crab cake, roasted corn sauté andouille-jambalaya rice and asparagus. Small but nice sized portions of everything so it is okay by yourself if you are hungry. My drink was similar to Irish Coffee but is Luxury 9 (I think). It is scrumptious. Look for it on the drink menu. By the way, the bread is tasty too.
Service and food was sub-par. We have been frequent visitors and at best we have had marginal food and service. We will not be back. They were even out of oysters on Father's day.
As a Landry's Select Club member we have enjoyed our previous engagements. However, today was far from the standards of what we expect from this establishment. We sat down got drinks and never saw our waiter again for 36 min. We asked for him but no one paid any attention because a large party was being seated. So we got up and left. We expressed our dissatisfaction to the manager and probably will never come back. Very disappointing.
This place is terrible! I should’ve know something was off when I went into the open table app the same day as the reservation and every slot was open. With this be a Landry’s restaurant and modest reviews on open table we decided to give it a shot. Walking in this place looks and feels dirty; it’s not the decor but actual filth ; and they attempt to hide this filth by lowering the lights. Friendly staff seated us to our dirty table and dirty seats(still Dirty from previous diners) and handed us food stained menus. Please note that if we were at Red Lobster(which is- unbelievably better(yes I shudder when I speak those words, Red Lobster is like the Capital Grill to Denny’s compared to this place). I ordered the gumbo- which came out in a consistently of tomato paste directly from the can- horrible- not sure how many days that has been sitting around. Next I ordered a $30 shrimp, scallop and salmon entree- this delicious entree came out as 3 boiled tasteless shrimp, 3 boiled tasteless scallops and a raw(yes raw and cold) piece of salmon drenched in soy sauce to cover the mess up. My wife ordered the $45 king crab entree- when it arrived the crab was soo dry not only did it not come out, but the butter barely made it palatable. My son enjoyed the bowl of plain buttered noodles and the bread, which I why I’m giving this place 2 stars. When the waitress realized part of my dinner was raw- she told me she would send the manager over and comp the entree- the manager never came over to talk to us- I assume they were embarrassed on the quality and price of what they were serving; while at the same time depreciating the Landry’s brand and validity of open tables rating system. Do yourself a favor and visit one of the other many fantastic restaurants in the immediate area. STAY AWAY!
Service was top of the line, never had a more professional waiter in my life. My fish was on par with something that comes out of a yellow box with a fisherman on the front however everyone else at my table received amazing food. I will definitely give it a second chance
Really great. Friendly service, good food
Everything is always fresh. Staff I can't say enough good things about. Always nice always joking in a good mood. Your Chefs are off the charts. The place is always clean and organized. Thank you so much for a great place to eat. Always going back.
Menu is great.. service was mediocre.. mistakes were made, waited a long time and food still came out cold..
Decent happy hour food menu 5-7 ! But they have a fruit fly problem, and a blue moon at happy hour is still like $5. They could earn a
The food was mediocre. The server Lauren got upset and I received dirty looks as I'm leaving the restaurant and the server Lauren was complaining about the tip amount how very rude. We will not be returning here. This is the first and last visit. Train this particular server on better customer service cause you all just lost customers.
Let me start at we use to love Mitchell's when it was landry's my Husband and I would go faithfully often it was our to go place and we would always have great service and meal. I would celebrate my birthday there almost every year there as well accompanied by the rest of my family members either getting one of their rooms or a few tables were set up. But the pass few visits have not been the same. Mitchell's fish Market in Homestead are always out of something on the menu is out every time we order. Very disappointing and we are tired of this happening!! So I haven't been in about 5 months... I decide call in and ordered a togo fish and chips Dinner meal NOT lunch but dinner. This pass Friday. I didn't get a chance to look at my meal until I was ready to sit down to eat. Boy oh boy what a difference in meals. I was soooo dissatisfied and upset. I called the manager to say why did I recieve 3 fish nuggets very, very small portion in coleslaw and even the hush puppies were little grapes size. She had the nerve to said the Dinner servings are not big like Lunch fish and chips. Lunch is cheaper& bigger in size and DINNER fish are smaller in size like nuggets size that's crazy WOW!! I JUST PAID $20.00 FOR NUGGETS MEAL
Always delicious....great service by Paul!! Thanks so much.
Fresh seafood and a great staff. Will definitely go again.
Overpriced for what you get, the service was really slow. The food was good
Fresh seafood with unique plates. A little chain like
Stuck in the middle of a strip mall, I wasn't expecting much. Being part of the Landry's empire, I wasn't expecting much. But the place took me by suprise with it's professional sevice and fine food. The clam chowder was some of the best I've had outside the bay area. The salmon cooked perfectly and tasted as though it came off the boat minutes before. It's pricey, but worth the price. I look forward to going back.
Love this place. Staff does a good job.
First time ever after ordering the Chilean sea bass that both diners were fishy. Mentioned it to server and manager. Manager dos not offer any type of discount. Disappointing after going for many years.
Food was excellent! Server great also
Slow service, shrimp and scallops were not fresh.
We decided to give this place a try even after the negative reviews. I was very disappointed in the quality of the food compared to the locatio in Ohio. Guess that explains why it was empty. Food was served fast and our hostess was very nice. I don't like complaining or giving bad reviews, but I had to be honest for others
The food was good but it seemed like an off night with numerous items not available for example the Peruvian mashed potatoes. Service was good ,will try again.
Don't bother. We didn't. Website says happy hour on patio (see attached screenshot). Hostesses confirms this on the phone. We arrive and sit in the patio area. Server advises no happy hour on patio, the website is wrong and hostess is new. Asked if could honor it due to the error. Server consults manager. Manager sends server back to us (instead of coming to us personally) and says still can't do it because "we don't have the buttons for that." We go to Bar Louie down the street. We have a wonderful evening there instead.
Insanely b it st on s Friday night during Lent.
Great visit. Enjoyed the seafood slot. Will visit again.
Nice and quiet, not loud and food and staff excellent in this area of town that people think they are special and privileged.
Very nice. Good food and service.
Server was distracted.Food was average and incorrect. Overall disappointed.
Gr8 food!!
Tonight was my first time there. There's a great selection of seafood options, and I really like that they have a seasonal aspect to the menu.
I love eating at Mitchell's Fish Market. The food is excellent, the people are very friendly and the atmosphere is great. Easy to have a good conversation - no loud echoing sounds like other restaurants I have been to.
Good seafood. Service is good.
it aint like it used be.rumor their closing?
Pretty expensive, but the food was good.
Always love coming here for lunch. Prices are easier to swallow. But either way, the food is obviously made fresh. Love seeing new vegetarian options too.
We love Mitchell's Fish Market! I always get the Salmon on a cedar plank and my husband has had Blue Marlon and Lobster stuffed Cod. Everything is always great. We've had the crab cakes, calamari, pico spinach dip and Lobster Mac and cheese--all delicious. Most recently our waitress, Michele was phenomenal. She was super friendly, funny and attentive.
Once seated, loooong wait for service, and initial drink order (mistake on 1 of 4 drinks, took 10 minutes to get out), looong wait on appetizer. The only thing that balanced it out to 3 stars was the food...delicious, all around the table. So, 2 star service, 4 star food.
Food is great but expensive (around $25-$50). Great location and ample parking.
Excellent food great price and atmosphere highly recommend
This has always been one of my favorite restaurants. Until today I have never eaten there and not been happy. The food is always tasty and presented well. My husband had the fried seafood plate which he enjoyed with the exception of the hush puppies. Fried yuck with no flavor. I ordered the double stack burger. It was absolutely the worst hamburger I have ever had. It was old and tasteless. They really need to re-think that one. Service was pretty good and our waiter Collin was pretty attentive and friendly. It was a wee bit slow considering we and another couple were the only ones there. Kick it up a notch Mitchell's you are starting to disappoint.
Only 4 scallops on a 22 dollar menu item, not worth it.
Not good and not cheap. Go somewhere else, if possible
Always delicious, fresh seafood. Great service.
I've always been satisfied with the service and food, had to organize a funeral luncheon on short notice, Mitchell's was extremely accommodating, the food was excellent, drinks are wonderful, staff went far and above to accommodate a grieving family, I recommend this place for lunch, drinks, dinner or large gatherings, the attention to the details showed , as the family and friends were very pleased from time of arrival, and thru out the day. Thank you for making a sad day a little better.
Good fresh fish and service. Somewhat expensive
Very good food
Love this place! Fantastic food and amazing service! Highly recommend!
It was great sword fish but the steak was a little under seasoned but cooked perfectly
Great food ,they offer wide variety of fish
Good sea food. Menu changes frequently. Part of the Landry's restuarant collection. Staff is pleasant and good happy hour prices.
Wonderful seafood selection. Some of the best scallops I've had! Delicious!
Place fell off bigtime
Great food and fresh fish. The scallops are awesome. Great service and plenty of parking.
Good food! Excellent service! Nice atmosphere!
The menu seems to be lacking as of 2019 in my opinion but the staff is always friendly.
Great place
Excellent wedding rehearsal dinner venue!
Food was great and service was very attentive. Never had to ask for refills. They even brought a free dessert for my son for being so patient during a very busy dinner time while we waited to be seated. We don't go to the restaurant very often because it can be a bit pricey, but it was worth it this time. Seafood Pasta was delicious!
Always s good meal here. Good service...they dont rush you, and the food is good. I've had many dishes....love the oysters an DC the lobster roll.
Due to my food allergies, I was unable to get dinner at this restaurant! Mashed potatoes have garlic in them, server actually suggested rice to have with lobster!!
Our dinners were delicious and the service was outstanding!
Beautiful restaurant with great staff, But our crab legs were very poor.
Excellent and fresh seafood. Casual atmosphere and convenient location.
Great food. Love the lobster bisque soup. Wonderful
I got a hair in my shrimp appetizer so that's as far as I got I left imediately.
Great atmosphere, good food, only negative was they fry the scallops.
Service is so so. Most of the food is good. $3.35 for iced tea is outrageous.
The salmon just melts in your mouth. Everything was cooked really nicely and it was all flavorful. However, be prepared to pay the price that comes with this food.
Great place for delicious seafood if you are out in the burbs! Lunch is a must no waiting, friendly staff and great good!
We like Mitchell’s. Wherever we’ve visited the food has been good to great. Service has been good to great as well. For an upscale restaurant they could be a bit more focused on both consistently attentive and professional service and consistent food quality. They could achieve 5 stars with a little effort.
Food was good. Super overpriced though. Everyone in my party ordered drinks that ended up being super strong. The bartender needs to go back to school. Service from your waiter or waitress will be excellent. They made sure you are well taken care of. The atmosphere is casual and intimate with down lighting.
10 start menu. Great service always
Great happy hour! Even better martinis.
Great seafood but for the prices service should be at a higher level
I had the shrimp Alfredo and it was very tasty.
Clam Chowder is outstanding...really outstanding and the smashed loaded mashed potatoes were perfection at it's best!
Atmosphere and service was great. I ordered Mahi Mahi blackened. I believe it came out grilled. I could not taste any Cajun seasoning on it at all.
Mitchell's Fish Market consistently exceeds our expectations for seafood in Carmel. With patio seating as well as a cool open dining room, you will be made to feel most welcome. Choose fresh fish from the market display and it will be prepared as you like it. Chef's selections and daily specials to choose from. All this plus a great bar. You can't go wrong.
I got the burger. Was not a fan
First time there, i had a gift card, i had the Sea Scallops delicious, my full meal was good..alittle expensive, but i would go back again..our server was very nice & polite, you get what you pay for....
Fantastic loved the cowboy ribeye. Sometimes you get the best steaks in a fine fish restaurant
Great food, great service, very expensive!!!
Went in for a snack and a beer at lunch. Empty, clean, good food, good service.
The espresso machine has been broken for years the staff keeps trying to make it work.
Great food even better atmosphere!
Great foods
I'm so glad Mitchell's participated in restaurant week. I'd never been to either location and we didn't know the location closer to us existed until Bryan noticed them on restaurant week. The food was AMAZING. Bryan warned me to save room for the shark fin pie, thankfully. I don't eat dessert at restaurants often, but the shark fin pie is worth it! I tried the gumbo and tuna bowl, which were both good. I loved my jambalaya and the asparagus took a while to get used to (a bit softer than I prefer), but it was good. The shark fin pie was beyond amazing, but I'd recommend getting the SMALLER portion unless you have a table of 4 or more. Splitting the big one with two people was too much. Delicious, but too much - even when I saved half my jambalaya for lunch. The service was wonderful. Our waitress, Lisa, was so fast & stealthy that I didn't always realize she'd filled my water until I'd look down and see that it was full. The manager was also very friendly. We'll definitely be repeat customers and look forward to many more delicious meals at Mitchell's. I wanted to try almost everything on the menu, so I'm sure I'll eat there many times before repeating a dish (other than getting the mini shark fin pie to share).
Great food and service
Fantastic service with our server Julia. Every need was met despite a busy section and an impromptu 15 person party. Food was fantastic. Very good creme brule.
Pleasantly surprised! Went for our anniversary dinner, was actually a second choice because first place was overbooked. We'll be back again, food was amazing as was our waitress.
Always good food and good service
My favorite sea food and fish restaurant around hands down for years and still is! The losber bisque is my favorite and there portions are a nice size. You pay top dollar but, you also get top dollar service and food. Bone appetite.
Our fish was perfectly prepared. I was also impressed with their signature cocktails.
The lobster and shrimp stuffed cod was delicious!!
Great food most of the time. But inconsistent.
We've never had a bad meal or bad service. They are an Open Table restaurant. Great seafood
Had a very nice experience on my first visit. Staff friendly. Food was great. Definitely recommend this restaurant
Sunday evening...empty place. Slow and disinterested service. Burned, not simple grilled, bacon wrapped shrimp appetizers, the worst lobster bisque... it was all just bad. veer
When you walk into the dining room the stale musty fish smell makes it very off putting. We had the calamari and a couple of there Martinez the Martinez were good, the Calamari ...not so much very bready and dry. Our service was good but slow coming. Background music, distracting. Opdid not to get lunch. However did get soups Lobster biscuit very good!! New England Clam Chowder also very good. The smell and music really were distracting and off-putting. The dining room very nice decor.
Awesome service and the Food was Great
The service was great! Our waitress was very nice, and personable. The food was delicious as well. Would recommend.
Good and pricey but could be a little better.
Visited Mitchell's fish market in West Chester Ohio July of this year my waitress was very good I did have a problem with the serving size I ordered the gumbo a cup which a cup is normally 8 oz it was very good I ordered one for my husband to go I ask for a bowl the bowl should have been 12 ouses when the waitress brought it out for me in a container it was the size of the cup which was 8 oz so I asked her is this a bowl or a cup she says this is our bowl so then she goes back the manager comes out and specifically tells me that this was a bowl that she reassured me that it was 12 oz I said OK now the cup is $6 the bowl is $8 they charged me 8 dollar for cup we measured it when I got home beware of the fools tail this should be on John matterease don't waste your money (christen) manager you should be terminated
Wonderful good. Great service!
Fast service and good food.
Everything from beginning to end was flawless.
The Seafood is Delicious I had broiled Shrimp and an appetizer Shrimp with a bacon wrap and barbecue is was very good
I remember why I haven't been back in a while
I love Mitchell‘s
I love this place food great service excellent
Quiet corner to talk about the day & great seafood just right.
Let me start with the good. Our server was excellent. Knowledgeable about the menu and extremely patient with my mom and mother-in-law, always smiling and friendly. The food was good. There are better seafood places in Pittsburgh. The salmon was excellent. The shrimp was dry. The crab cakes were good. The sides were average. The taste of the clam chowder and lobster bisque was very good but there was very little seafood in the chowder. Now, what was really bad. We were seated outside the restaurant in the mall. People watching us eat, loud echoing music from the mall P.A. system, cold drafts from the door to the outside. We ate on patio furniture with metal tables. This is fine for lunch at a burger joint, but not at a higher end seafood place where the tab was over $175. This with reservations made well in advance. I had a much better experience last Christmas. I will be looking somewhere else next year.
It's a decent seafood place, albeit pricey. The crab cakes are delicious, as are the fish and chips. The house salads are fresh and large. The seafood gumbo was awesome with large chunks of fish. The service is adequate and the it seems clean. There is a weird smell that I've noticed there every time I've gone. It's like a moldy, old building smell, but it's not distracting enough to effect the visit. The only concern is the price, and that wouldn't be that big of deal if the quantity matched the dollars spent.
Good food
Great good
Worth a stop if you like seafood.
How dare this...this fish market support Breamteam, I will never return until they agree to kick them off the list. It is time to stand up against Breamteam, those bastards will pay for there actions. Also the titanic wedge iceberg was just awful. Ah vote for Mitch is ah vote for Mitch.
Great service ...great food helped us celebrate my sons 30th birthday
Seafood is not as.freah as they claim. Over priced. Kroger has a better selection of fish. Deserts are great. Employees are treated badly especially in the kitchen. Overheard a chef yelling at employee over a minor problem
Best seafood in town, hands down. The sales manager, Kelsi Holden, makes the private dining experience absolutely amazing.
Always have a good meal here. The crab legs were very dry this time which was shocking. But the Shark Fin makes up for it.
Mmmm! Seafood like you want it to be, excellent! Nice change of pace. Friendly staff.
Pleasant dining experience. Our favorite waiter's name is Christian.
Good service good food nice good atmosphere
We love Terry and J at the bar!
Very nice food, we go there very often and never get a bad meal. Service is very good, with very nice and responsive people working there.
Great servers! From the beginning the staff was attentive and willing to help however possible. I was here for a work meeting and appreciated the attention we were provided while there. The food was delicious and very filling! There are many options to choose from on the menu, we had a smaller menu to select from due to time constraints. Overall great time here!
They don't really have vegan options on the menu, but we called a few days ahead and the chef accommodated us...and the food was pretty good.
Great happy hour.
Good raw bar selections, very fresh fish, with appetizers and sides well above average. Tuna poke bowl was very fresh with excellent sticky rice and vegetables. Low key service (the good kind) and big welcoming bar area.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at this lovely restaurant. The food was delicious and our waitress was amazing!! We will return.
An excellent restaurant to go eat at!
Food is awesome. Service courteous and prompt!
So tired of dissatisfaction. I don't know why I continue to frequent chain establishments. First off we questioned the clueless hostess as to whether a substitute could be made with soba noodles ex. Vegetable being my friend is gluten free. Answer...I don't think so. It was just so dismissive that I said..."can you check with the chef?" After an eyeball roll, she went and came back stating, "just as I said, we cannot substitute because vegetables are more expensive. Are you kidding me? We were more than willing to pay for the change. We then asked if a rice could be a substitution but not sticky rice. She said that was the only kind they had. We then discovered a carribean rice listed. Like I said clueless and seemingly annoyed by our questions. I finally said....it doesn't look like anyone is breaking down the door to get in here, you should be a little accommodating to customers. She apologized when realizing that I may bust her with the manager as the next step. We were seated and ordered the super bowl with shrimp which we joking said in agreement was this the appetizer before the real dish? So extremely small, even smaller than a panera bowl another chain that is overrated. For a bill of $20 for this pitiful 5 shrimp salad, well Only a fool would return. I had eaten years ago in the waterfront location which was a larger meal, average and pricey but for a quick lunch, you can fool me once, maybe twice, third time...it will never happen.
Not what it used to be--- poor service, very few customers and had to track down server for service. I had called and asked if they had oysters Rockefeller - not listed on their web menu. Hostess said, yes, they can serve them. NOT! Server said not available - doubtful that he asked chef. Weak cosmopolitan- big disappointment.
Highly overpriced for what you get. Food was average at best. Service was nice but didn't overcompensate for the cost/taste ratio. If you're a seafood rookie you may enjoy but I expected more from a "fish market".
Almost 5 stars. Great food and service. Prices are a little higher than at Bonefish which is probably their closest competitor. Seafood is very fresh. Good for a "special" night out.
Real nice and classy seafood place to go out with a loved one. Chilean sea bass, best fish on the menu.
This place used to be good. The crab legs were awful/ split open, halved to be exact. 2 crab legs split to look like 4 for $36. Come on! Red lobster doesn't even do that. Veggies were way under cooked...
Nice place to dine. Able to have a conversation without excessive noise. Every attentive waiter bit not hovering which was good.
Overpriced, overrated, overcrowded and a waste of time. Menu was underwhelming. My lobster bisque was cold and gummy. How do you screw up a Caesar salad? My Screwdriver taste like it was made w "tang" or orange drink as opposed to orange juice!!!!! NEVER AGAIN. Save both your $ and your time.
Wonderful Christmas dinner. I loved my crab legs.
Food was great and waiter was friendly and informative
This restaurant has the most ignorant hostesses. My elderly parents went for dinner at 4:15 and the hostesses were rude, obnoxious and complete snobs. Not only did they not seat my parents but they laughed at them for not having a reservation....for 4:15!!!! Epic fail. Apparently this is not the first time something like this has happened with their staff. My parents and my family will NEVER go back and I urge others to think twice about patronizing a restaurant that treats customers so badly. Thank you for ruining my father's birthday.
Good food. Pricey. Service was just ok. Waiter did not come back to check.
Quick quality friendly service always!
Chilean sea bass!!
Good food. Good quality and the creme brulee was great!
When you go, sit at the bar. Kirsten or Ryan are wonderful, and will take great care of you!
Great food, great service. You can't go wrong.
Great clam chowder
Ahi bowl was excellent
Overpriced in my personal opinion for mediocre food, mostly lacking in flavor & seasoning. Waiter wasn't much of one; we had 3 different people attend our table.
The food is amazeballs...but save room for the shark fin pie or you have wasted your life
Great experience! Food was fantastic as well as the service!
Service was top of the line, never had a more professional waiter in my life. My fish was on par with something that comes out of a yellow box with a fisherman on the front however everyone else at my table received amazing food. I will definitely give it a second chance
The prices are high, the service is superb. However, the restaurant is made to look like a fish market. So, it's loud and smells like fish. The food was very big box-ish, and was not worth the money; we will not be returning.
Wife and I stopped for a light meal in the afternoon after we saw a movie. Got fish & chips and calamari and shared. Food was very good. Also had interesting drinks on the drink menu.
Salmon and asparagus was the best
Stuck in the middle of a strip mall, I wasn't expecting much. Being part of the Landry's empire, I wasn't expecting much. But the place took me by suprise with it's professional sevice and fine food. The clam chowder was some of the best I've had outside the bay area. The salmon cooked perfectly and tasted as though it came off the boat minutes before. It's pricey, but worth the price. I look forward to going back.
This was my first visit and I wasn't too impressed. Bread was under done, butter was bland. I had lobster bisque that wasn't even hot but decent. My niece had the ahi tuna bowl and it was adequate. I ordered the twin lobster tails. They're wasn't enough drawn butter and my 3 asparagus Spears were barely cooked and still had the inedible ends on them?? For desert we both had the creme Brulee. The custard lacked flavor and the sugar could've been better caramelized. Our waitress barely glanced at our table every time she flew by. When I tried to approach her off to the side about my nieces bday she mistook me for a different table. That's how little attention she paid to us. I wouldn't drive from Milford to go there again but it was good enough once.
Excellent food and great service. Had the stuffed cod was perfect.
The cod was cooked perfect so were the green beans and redskin potatoes. The staff and waiters are great. But if you want that 5 stars either add another bread selection or improve the sourdough you offer.
The food was great and the service was excellent!
Bad day in the kitchen. Scallops rubbery; Shrimp overcooked; Salmon raw; Chicken was tiny. Long wait time also. Not the norm in this place!
Greasy food with ok taste. Been there once, doubt if there will be a second.
The food was good but it seemed like an off night with numerous items not available for example the Peruvian mashed potatoes. Service was good ,will try again.
Insanely b it st on s Friday night during Lent.
Good food you can not get everywhere and service always good.
Overcooked shrimp. Undercooked rice. Delicious sea bass with a horrible sauce that fortunately came on the side. $92 sans tip and we aren't drinkers. We expected so much more. Don't really see a reason to go back.
Just OK. Very pricey for just OK. Bench seats in booths were broken down. Lobster bisque was not good. Capital Grill bisque the best. Lobster and shrimp BLT weak. Have had better in New England little stands. But coleslaw very good.
Fabulous dinner. The spinach / green apple salad is a must. Then, all the fish preparations are excellent.
We ate at the West Chester location 9/21/2017. The host was awesome and friendly so we thought it was going to be awesome lunch. The food was good but we will never return to this location. I eat really fast I was done in three mins with my meal it takes her longer to eat. The server came over took my bowl and asked if she wanted to him to box her food while she was still eating. She said no thank you he took the food away anyway in a hurry. Cleary if she is still eating while your asking she is not done. She only was able to eat 1/4 of her food. This was the craziest thing I have ever seen. Also the restroom were a mess and bar is missing tiles. Never been now will never go back.
Nice and quiet, not loud and food and staff excellent in this area of town that people think they are special and privileged.
We go here a lot for work lunches. Great place to eat if you like fish and need a nice sit down meal. It can get a bit pricy for the amount of food you get, but the quality of the food is excellent. I gave it a 4 star because service can be a bit slow at times. But overall it's a great place to go for lunch and dinner.
Very good seafood. (I had the Chilean sea bass) good unobtrusive service. Quiet Ambience
Pretty good, great Lobster bisque
Food was delicious, service was very accommodating from host to waitstaff.
I had tilapia from the Prie Fixe menu. Excellent. Substantial portion, enough for lunch the next day.
Delicious food, good service.
Very good American fish... And not only! Good Quality/cost ratio!
Love the food. Really enjoyed the revamped atmosphere.
Absolutely horrible experience. We have frequent this business many times...the food was cold . no service...my adult children from out of state colleges were home for the holiday and my daughter didn't even receive her meal after numerous attempts....until we were all finished eating our cold meal. Unfortunately, we will never return and I would advise no one to patron this business.
Always love coming here for lunch. Prices are easier to swallow. But either way, the food is obviously made fresh. Love seeing new vegetarian options too.
Once seated, loooong wait for service, and initial drink order (mistake on 1 of 4 drinks, took 10 minutes to get out), looong wait on appetizer. The only thing that balanced it out to 3 stars was the food...delicious, all around the table. So, 2 star service, 4 star food.
Always delicious, fresh seafood. Great service.
Excellent prompt service from Justin despite our being "small spenders" and sitting outside on a 93 degree summer day. Wonderful three course special prepared and presented expertly. Bread delicious and fresh. Salads perfect for a summer day. Drinks continually refilled. Ice cream pie always to die for. Thanks for another great experience!
It was wonderful, both meals were delicious. One was shrimp with fries, the other one was cod and fries. The cole slaw was great. But they had these hush puppies. That were the best, inside was cheese and some onions. They were delicious, along with the drinks. A wonderful place, and a great time. Also try the creme brulee for dessert. It was excellent, more than enough to share!
Trio shrimp platter is a must try - Ryan the bartender was awesome
Good fresh fish and service. Somewhat expensive
Food was very good! I have a variety plater, the service was great!
Great service.
Good service but the food was mediocre. I ordered the crab stuffed flounder, portion size was good but had little to no taste
It was great sword fish but the steak was a little under seasoned but cooked perfectly
I love the food and service. I am never disappointed.
Excellent food would go back
Pricey. Small portions. Delicious however.
Busy restaurant with delicious food. The staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. They had overflow parking for rush hour. Relaxing ambiance with pictures of boats, glass case of seafood, etc. The butter tower (on the warmer) was fun to use while eating the twin lobster tails. In summary, I had a great experience.
Great food great server . It's a little expensive. No military discount . SHAME on them...
Everything was delicious! Server was very polite and attentive without smothering. Definitely would recommend.
Good food! Excellent service! Nice atmosphere!
Made reservations a month ago for my girlfriend and her Mom and Dad. Our friend told us about the place so we figured we would give it a try. It took a very long time just to get our waters around the table. Which is okay at first if they’re busy. Then ordering drinks took even longer probably 30 mins until we got those. Finally ordered and waiting forever for the food, 2 of our orders were wrong and 1 of our steaks was not even close to what we asked. Waitress was no where to be found for a good 20 mins, had to ask another waiter to find our waitress for us so we could at least get refills (which they charge double for) offered to make us new food of course but at this time it’s getting too late and I had a 1 Year old getting cranky now on my lap. Finally talked to a (manager) and they just wanna give us dessert which we’re not wanting to wait another 30 mins for that.... start taking everybody’s plates and offer to take it off the bill, still tried charging us for everything but one thing. Had to ask again because they (thought) they took it off. Waitress told us she had a long day which isn’t our fault? Even had to go up to the front to cash out because we have been there so long. Managers wasn’t too pleasant either. We go to a lot of restaurants but never had this happen before trying to show our parents a good time out. Ruined. Nobody got to eat and still had to pay $100 for drinks that didn’t get drunk and appetizers. First and last time.
Been here a million times, never had a bad experience what so ever.
I'm not usually a chain restaurant person, but for a business lunch venue, it's a great choice. Very consistent and good food, four stars. Easy to have a discussion, clean, and modern, five stars. The waiter shook our hands upon introduction, what if I'm a germaphobe? And he was a loud talker...inside voices, people! I'm hesitant to only give him a three star, you may love the over-the- topness. Maybe he was trying too hard because I'm officially a local Google reviewer and he was nervous, haha! Overall very good experience.
Food was sub-par. But the service ok
Amazing food, good service. The carribean jerk style swordfish was delicious, with a lot of flavor. Fresh oysters as well!
Great Food and Great Service
Great food and service. It was our first time dining here and definitely going back.
Made reservation and requested table-to be decorated due to our anniversary. When we arrive I told server that I made special request, she said I didn’t read it I be back, never came back. I ask waitress for a manager! Christina was her name, she said she will take care of it also never came back. Had bad experience, next time will go to Carlos and Johnny’s . Nothing like that ever happened there, top notch service. Fish Market was just convenient. We have learn.
Absolutely PERFECT! Do not change a single little thing
I got a hair in my shrimp appetizer so that's as far as I got I left imediately.
Great atmosphere, good food, only negative was they fry the scallops.
Have been here before and had good food and service. Tonight, I was not at all impressed. So, so food, small portions, just ok service, is not what I would expect for the price we paid. I will not be going back.
We really like Mitchell's. When in the south hills we make it a point to stop in for a bite to eat. The happy hour specials are very well priced and there is a wide variety of items to choose from. There is some stating outside the restaurant but still inside the mall. We prefer to sit at the bar. The waitstaff is usually very good - friendly and attentive. On a couple occasions we had to send the soup back to warm it up a bit more but other than that, they have done a wonderful job.
Food was good. Super overpriced though. Everyone in my party ordered drinks that ended up being super strong. The bartender needs to go back to school. Service from your waiter or waitress will be excellent. They made sure you are well taken care of. The atmosphere is casual and intimate with down lighting.
They recently changed the menu and removed some of my favorite dishes. Some of the new items were tasty, but I still like the old dishes better, but its still a good spot for a nice meal.
Fair fare
Always great food and priced accordingly.
Great seafood but for the prices service should be at a higher level
pricey.. not impressed by quality of food
Fabulous service and the best bartenders around!
Sat at the bar for cocktails and appetizers before seeing a movie tonight. Service was remarkable and attentive. That a crab cake it was okay. The shrimp grits and andouille sausage was out of this world. Would love to have an entree portion of that sometime.
Great food Consistent every time. Good service. Noisy. Best to go during the week Did not disappoint.
I got the burger. Was not a fan
Very good place to eat. All of their food is super fresh and the prices are reasonable. The decoration inside is also really good and the waitress that I had was very knowledgeable about what everything was.
Great bar and happy hour.
Food was very good. My waitress Brittany was amazing. Very personable and friendly. Great customer service
Dear Mango-hito. I think I love you! Save a place for me next week during happy hour! De-lish!!!
High class great food.
Great service, great tasting fresh food, amazing cocktails. Never been let down here.
Food was very good, large servings. Wait staff were very nice and came back several times checking if we needed anything.
It's very difficult to find good seafood in the Midwest, but Mitchell's does really well. I found the fish to be just as good as Oceanaire, the brand's more upscale brother downtown, but came with more food for the same price. Classy, with a charming dark wood interior. Service is good, sourdough bread is tasty, cocktails are fun and well prepared.
Excellent food!
Service was good price was good quality was good server forgot to ask for dessert
Great food and decent service
Always a great place for seafood. Full bar. Drink specials are wonderful. Food always very good. Atmosphere is great. Waitstaff well informed. Desserts are magnificent
Our service was very slow and unresponsive. They gave us a waitress who was clearly already overburdened by full tables when there was other wait staff who very obviously could have used more; the restaurant was not very full outside of one section. The food was not bad, but not good for the money spent and there was remarkably little of it. In my order of lobster tail and crab-stuffed shrimp, I got three rather small shrimp with a tiny amount of crab on each. My sides were some decent mashed potatoes and, get this, three stalks of asparagus. Over all, the experience was below mediocre. I would choose almost anywhere else.
This was awful and expensive. I got chicken parmesan. The chicken was extremely greasy and tough. There was little flavor. The waitress was almost attentive. Never once offered to refill anyone's drinks and didn't know anything about anything on the menu. The place is so dark, it's uncomfortable. Others with me had the same thoughts. We won't need back. Eat n Park would have better; it's that bad. Just save your money and go elsewhere.
Great seafood selections. Good service. Seafood platter was very good, but lobster shrimp roll was dry and bland.
We visited this restuarant with a group of friends. The service is slow, so it takes more than 20 min for us to have our appetizers. I love their appetizers, especially crab cake and crispy spicy shrimp. However, the food portion is not enough, considering the price we paid, and I expected more! My husband even felt hungry after eating his meal. The quality of sea foods are great. The staff are polite, but we had a bad experience: they brought only one receipt for our group and didn't check beforehand. When we asked them to separate our receipts so that we can pay our share, they did not help that much, so if you're going with a group and everyone likes to pay theirs, you may want to make sure to have different recepits when you are ordering the food!
Great place to eat and hang out with friends or family. Service was excellent as usual with Lauren going the extra mile! Clean and neat surroundings even make it better. Food was good, hot, decent portions and fresh. Bbq bacon shrimp is 1 of the best appetizers I've had!
My husband and I visit this restaurant whenever we are in Brookfield. The fish is always outstanding and east coast oysters superb. The manager, Brandon, goes above and beyond to make the experience memorable; our waiter Jackson took very good care of us. Can't wait to visit again!
Awesome Experience.Waitress Mick was the best ever. Service was top notch, food great. Please stop in and try this. We dined outside and it made the vist atmosphere great!
Delicious food, and good service!
Rainbow Trout and crab cakes were great chicken parmigiana not so great. Hardly any Marinara sauce. First round of chkn. Park had to go back tested like plastic. The made new chkn but did not accommodate any portion of the bill.
I love their tuna melt.
Always nice light meals and good service
Good salmon
Lunch. Seated right away, the service was A+. My only quibble was the food. This place was on the pricey side & that given, I expect the food to be above part, it wasn't. I'll try again, maybe dinner to make up my mind.
Used to be a pretty good place. Quality going downhill. Today, a literal shard of glass in my mashed potatoes! I will never be back!
Very good food, great sunday-friday happy hour. Highly recommend.
Excellent and well prepared fresh fish. Attentive and helpful staff.
Good food but very noisy
Shanghai Trio! So delish!
It's ok. Conceptually, it always sound amazing, but have never had anything worth the cost
Ate outside on the patio, food was absolutely outstanding... shrimp and crab stuffed cod, and my wife had the crab stuffed shrimp. She would love to know what the white cream sauce was with the stuffed shrimp. The young waiter was very good also. Will definitely dine there again next time in Homestead!
my 1st there as I live in the Dells. Are waitress was awesome really helped with pairing and timed out our appetizer to the soup to our meal. everything was perfect.
It was ok, but great.
I dined on 8-19-2019. The dining room smelled of stale beer with nonexistent air conditioning. The staff seemed to be very disinterested with slow service. The drink order was prepared incorrectly with parts of the drink mixed up to form a totally different drink. This was explained to the waitress who stated the bar tender was new. A new drink was brought that was also incorrect at which point straight bourbon was ordered. The food was mediocre at best. Two stars is generous.
Been multiple times, BBQ bacon shrimp is worth the trip alone. Amazing crab cakes. In general, a solid place. Sometimes service can be slow. They also have some really good cocktails. My wife loves the lavender cucumber martini
Best seafood I've had outside Boston since coming to PA
Enjoyed chilean sea bass, crab Cake, shrimp and lobster bisque. Waitstaff awesome. Prompt...food hot and delicious !!!
EXCELLENT food......good service!
This was my first experience dining at Mitchell's Fish Market. We were there for a gathering of family and friends so the food was presented buffet style in their party room. I have to admit that I thought the food was very good and my kids ate all of theirs if that helps other parents. The desserts offered were very good. The servers were very pleasant and skilled. I highly recommend the restaurant if you are on the fence of where to go or if you want to try something new.
Food was good as was the service
Super fresh and delicious menu! Will be back
We are excited to try out a new place having heard good reviews and planned our Valentine's Day. We Arrived at 6:45 with a 7:15 reservation. Fully understanding it was Valentine's Day we wanted to make sure we got there with adequate time let them know we had arrived and had a drink at the bar proceeded to cash out and wait for a table. We were seated at approximately 720 which was not a big deal and then everything went downhill from there. Due to confusion our table was not spoken to for over 25 minutes. At which time I spoke to the hostess who promptly got me a server to let me know that no one knew whose section we were. We waited for quite some time to receive our water or wine appetizer came out fine and then we ordered our dinner which ended up coming to the table cold and the state was slightly under cooked although that was not a big deal. I ordered the chef's choice which was a 6 oz filet with a lobster Oscar style and my girlfriend ordered the chalet and sea bass and although the sea bass was delicious to her everything else on her plate was cold so we sent everything back. The manager Dave I believe was his name addressed the issue and let us know that everything would be fixed we were then given fresh new portions After about 25 minutes which is understandable since they did remake everything. At that time everything came out warm and my steak was cooked properly however her fish tasted more like Cod then sea bass. We did ask just to make sure they didn't make a mistake in the swore it was sea bass but it's really tasted like a McDonald's fish filet sandwich and unfortunately she was unable to eat it we of course paid our bill in full tipped accordingly our waitress was kind and busy. We will not be back. Overall it was an upscale red lobster. sadly disappointed.
Went for our Anniversary. Service was great. I had the Salmon and it was delicious! Nice place for special occasions.
Nice restaurant in Clay Terrace. Plenty of seating available both indoors and outdoors and they have bar seating as well. Tried their grilled Atlantic cod, which was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful. My wife tried the crab cake which was also good. A bit pricey but definitely worth it if you are in the mood for some fine dining.
Excellent food and excellent service. The Lobster Bisque was the best I've ever tasted.
We have never been disappointed at Mitchell's. It is one of our special places.
The food and ambiance were good, the service was terrible. They let one of our members know that they were out of the ahi tuna he ordered when they were delivering the rest of our meals. The place was very empty, the waiter made us feel like we were imposing on his personal time. I cannot recommend this place and suggest you look elsewhere.
wanted to be impressed with this place but just didn't happen. the food was ok. the lobster was good, the scallops were good, the fries tasted like they were reheated from lunch. the drinks were the best part of dinner but we waited over 15 mins to get them after they were ordered. service was polite but lacking. it'd be different if they were busy or we hadn't made reservations but that wasn't the case. maybe we just caught them on a bad night but I won't spend that kind of money again to find out.
Only posting 2 stars because the waitress was the only good part of our experience back. Waited 45min+ for our table when we had reservations, food came out an hour after orders were put in 20 min after being seated. The filets were a joke and then dinners finally came out with a dinner missing saying they ran out of steak. No one came to approach the table to say they ran out an if anyone would like to choose something else. The manager and waitress were very nice and the manager comped the bill, but even so, this is so crazy to happen on a day like Mother’s Day. Whoever is in charge of ordering and cooking, needs fired or seriously re-evaluated. The quality of the food is terrible and this location has went so down hill it’s not even funny. Hate to leave this bad of a review, but it’s necessary that corporate reads. Get it together
Always liked this place. Always come here when I am in town.
Very good food. Nice size portion for the typical meal for this area. I picked up and food was just getting at the time asked. Hostess was really friendly and went through order before bagging it up to make sure everything was correct.
Food and our waitress, Ashley, were both good. The only negative was there was a garnishment of chopped tomatoes on the cod and lobster that wasn't listed in the dish description on the menu nor on the picture on the website. I am very allergic to tomatoes and that was a disappointment to need to pick it off. Once this was done the dish was very tasty.
Great seafood and now have added more non seafood choices.
My friend and I had a few appetizers and drinks from the happy hour menu. They were all delicious and the service was terrific! The baked oysters and crab cakes were amaaaazing. This might be my new favorite restaurant!
The service was subpar and the waiter was not attentive enough. I had to keep asking for water and other things at a time where he serving just my table and another. The food was decent and I enjoyed my meal, it would be 5 stars if I had decent service.
Excellent food and service!!
The waiters are extremely hard working and the food is the BOMB!! I took my mom and dad there yesterday for lunch and my dad really loves there food.
Lobster and shrimp stuffed Cod was okay at best but the cherry cheesecake was the best...
They made my birthday celebration a delight!
Excellent food, even better service. I arrived early for what was a family dinner with parents and grandparents, and needless to say that can be stressful. I asked my waiter if he would get me a glass of wine before my family arrived, and there was no hesitation or delay. He rushed me my wine and my check to rid of the evidence. I drank my wine and paid the gentleman and it was as if nothing ever happened. I will be returning!
The meal was great and so was service. Tracy our waitress was great!
Very bad food
Excellent service and fresh food!
We ordered several appetizers- the ahi tuna, mussels and calamari. They were all okay. There were six of us and we all enjoyed our meal. The fish was perfect and the Shanghai sauce is spectacular. The asparagus and Brussels side dishes were okay. We went for my Dads 80th Birthday and they gave us the Happy Birthday menus- Happy Birthday was printed at the top. The shark fin pie was very tasty! The Service— our server was friendly and started out strong but most of the night was spent with empty drinks or waiting on food. We arrived at 6:30 and did not eat our main course until after 8:30pm... we had dessert and left close to 9:30. The gave us a dessert for free due to the excessive wait... but it was a long meal. I will give it a go one more time for the main dishes but if the service is poor again I will not go back.
I’ve only been here once so I’m sure it was just a bad experience but it was sad because I came here to try it on my birthday. Our server may have been new and he did seem a bit overwhelmed. Our drinks were never refilled (even after asking) and our food came out cold.... I may go back to try again but not any time soon.
Stopped in for lunch. Staff was great. The host was friendly. Had the stuffed cod. It was great. Wanted the beets but they were out. That's why they only get 4 stars.
Great atmosphere and good location. The service was sub par for a Saturday evening. We got there between 5:30 and 5:45 not busy at all. There were only two of us and we sat for over half our meal with empty drinks. The food was not the quality I would expect and lacked any real flavor. I probably won't be back.
I had the lobster stuffed cod and the lobster Mac and Cheese and it was seriously good. The bartender knows a good Moscow Mule. Final bill with tip for my date and I was close to $140 with drinks so bring the heavy plastic my man to impress the lady.
This place was wonderful. The food, the environment, ect. But my favorite part was our outstanding & beautiful hostess named Karla. She was an absolute pleasure! Will most certainly be back (:
I'd have to say for my first time going I am very underwhelmed at the taste of the dishes and the price that you pay for the small portions that you get. Our waiter was very nonchalant and offered no suggestions at all for drinks or food. The restaurant itself was very nice and clean. I got the very very small crab stuffed flounder, heavily covered in old Bay seasonings.. needless to say I will not be going here again.if you're going to be overcharged for seafood you might as well go to Ocean Prime or The Oceanaire..
Lol I can't review this place. I worked here and it wouldn't be good
My daughter was served a raw hamburger. She’s only 6. When I told my server he took the meal off stating that he was sorry the didn’t get the order right the 2nd time. I asked for a manager because I felt that he should have came to see the raw meat. He came only to give me his business card if my child gets sick. I can promise I will be calling a lawyer not him if she gets sick! I felt it would have been only right to take care of our entire meal. The fries were soggy and cold. The fish was soggy on the bottom like it has been sitting in grease.to top it off the noodles that came with the Parmesan crusted chicken were so dried out it was pathetic. I have never been so disappointed before. We didn’t even eat the food or send it back after the hamburger issues. We paid for our ticket and left a $10 tip for our server! It wasn’t his. I wish we would have stuck with Drake’s where we know the food is always right!
I've added a couple of negative reviews in the past, but I'm pleased to say that my latest visit was fantastic. On a busy Saturday night, the service in the bar area was great with a friendly staff. The seasonal Shrimp + Crab Linguine dish was wonderful. I'll definitely be back soon!
My daughter took me here tonight for my birthday I had never been here before we had the Ahi tuna for appetizers and we had the blackened scallops with the rice green beans and etouffee for dinner I also had a Cuervo margarita with all the food was wonderful service was great we were extremely happy prices are good for what you get the quality of the food is excellent we will be back
I've cooked better food at home
The Shanghai Sampler is awesome. I had a house salad with it, and I was very full when I left.
This is a great seafood restaurant. The prices were mid range. I had a gift card, so we splurged. We both had Lobster bisque which was very tasty. The hubby had cod Oscar and I had shrimp and scallops. The service was outstanding. Dessert was just okay, and over priced. Overall it was a great dining experience.
Quality seafood. Attentive staff. I eat keto and they adjusted dishes to meet my needs.
Excellent food, delicious lobster bisque, the best salmon, tasty sharkfin pie, but slow poor service. Too bad.
Dreadful experience, would NEVER come back and will actively dissuade people from going!!! Food was "ok." Came here for a business dinner, made online reservations for 5pm (well before the really busy time). On arrival, restaurant was mostly empty and we were quickly seated at a nice riverside table. That was the last enjoyable moment in this dinner. Server took around 5 minutes to come over and offer drinks (didn't bring water at that time), water showed up with floating debris in all glasses (requested and received replacements that appeared clean but staff miscommunication and they brought new water twice). LONG delays in getting starters, entrees, and dessert going. No explanation of food when it arrived (just dumped on the table). Server forgot to come back multiple times with promised items (menus, drinks, etc). Server was unable to provide helpful navigation/suggestions of the wine list AT ALL, except that she personally likes Pinot in general (and this is the server with a wine list with multiple bottles over $100... yet can't tell us about any of them). Food was "ok," certainly not spectacular. Oh... and the check showed up without a pen (seemed in line with the evening). This was the only 3 star rated restaurant in the area. I give service a -1 start, food a solid 1.5 star. This restaurant should better be properly rated 2 stars on Google (barely). Suggest NEVER bringing business clients here unless you want them to leave with a wholly disappointing experience. Very bad. Equivalent to a run-down chain restaurant 20 years past its prime.
Over price for what you get
Perfect food...nice atmosphere
It's been 3 years since we have been here. Last 2 times weren't great either. It took 30 minutes to get shrimp cocktail and a dozen oysters, no joke and it was 3pm. Shrimp cocktail was decent at best. My wife ordered cedar plank salmon and almost laughed at the portion size. I had seared tuna that was most likely old...no flavor and soggy. Didn't look remotely fresh. My dad's scallops were rubbery.
Went there for Christmas Dinner 2017, reservations at 5:15, still no meal by 6:15, no water refills, wine pours of 3 oz. maybe, sent back to be corrected which they agreed. All tables around us were also complaining, our server Abbey was MIA the whole night!! They ran out of a lot of the menu items too. Once food was finally delivered, one Seabass meal was Cold, total joke for the prices. Was nice that they were open Christmas but everyone had a bad time and we should have just stayed home. No enough staff to take care of patrons. So disappointed.... Glad Christmas in general was awesome!!
Dreadfully inaccurate and inattentive service - made a mistake on every meal and drinks, not to mention the bill. Food was fine. Drinks were overly sweet/syrupy.
Food was amazing! Staff was excellent, everyone seemed happy to be there!
Good service but the food has really went down hill in the past 3 years. The shrimp and salmon were over cooked and the Shanghai sauce was overly salty. The creme brulee was awesome as was their signature house salad. My family has visited the restaurant several times so it may have been an off day in the kitchen. Generally this place has food that is amazing.
Our new favorite seafood restaurant!!! Jambalaya was amazing, calamari best ever. Excellent service and atmosphere!!!
Over the years the quality of the food has gone downhill. I haven't been there for about a year and my opinion is the same.
Had a GREAT ANNIVERSARY meal with my SWEETHEART!! The waitress, Bryn, was a excellent host!!
3 stars only because I didn't know the prices were so high And the food was OK I have to try to again to see whats good
I would have been disappointed if I paid 12 dollars as opposed to 28. Over cooked, bland, and tiny portions. Service was mediocre. I’ve had shrimp from fast food chains that were better.
Great food value and service
Really dark inside, which we didnt care for. And it is pretty pricey. Server was friendly. I had the ginger crusted salmon which was great. My husband had the shrimp & chips. He said the shrimp was pretty good, the rest was just alright. We definitely want to come back and try some more items on the menu.
As I'm sitting here eating I cannot think of a better place that I have visited in Carmel Indiana. The broth and their muscles was light but rich and I'm not even the muscle fan but I ate an entire bucket full. And now I'm watching this beautiful lobster and crab stuff fish come out to me and I cannot wait to dig in.
Great place to eat that while the cost of a meal is on the high side, it is worth every penny!
Excellent service....meal was great.
We don't get to Pittsburgh very often but when we do, we always have dinner at Mitchell's. Their menu varies every day and it's fresh! It provides us with plenty of tasty options. Service has always been very good and the prices are reasonable and in line with what you would expect when getting well-prepared, fresh seafood.
I gave it three stars because the food presentation was excellent but the attitude and behavior of the staff was unprofessional. Our server let us know early on that she was supposed to be cut already and was being triple sat. Our ticket time was almost fifteen minutes and we ordered salads and a Sushi bowl. There was laughing, yelling and at one point literally shrieking coming out of the kitchen. The manager was walking around visibly angry because a server hadn't shown up. Where is your passion for food! The staff needs a lesson in professionalism.
Great seafood
Delicious seafood. We appreciated the light but crunchy batter on the shrimp.
My husband and I came for dinner to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Everything was wonderful. Food was delicious; server, Sue, was spectacular. She was helpful with the menu and very attentive. It was a leisurely, romantic time. Thanks, Mitchell's.
Delicious meal excellent service, small portions!
This was my first time eating here . The food was plated very beautifully and tasted very good.
Mitchell's has great food, today I just went there to purchase 2lb piece of tuna to take home and grill since the butcher was out. I always forget they are a fish market as well. Quality was fantastic!
Food was bland and was expensive. Patrick the server was excellent, friendly and provided great service.
Food is so so, service was slow but friendly, and location is kind of a pain depending on the time of day
Savor, fresh, sustainable, fish and seafood meals served with expert care inside, outside, or seated around their well supplied bar.
Great lunch and happy hour. Always consistent food quality and great service.
Food is exceptional, staff was friendly and provided great service.
Food was good (love the shark fin pie) but seems really expensive for what it is.
Gregg Wood's third favorite place to eat.
The portions really small for the price. Food ok not great.
The food was disappointing but we had a very nice server.
The steak was amazing and I love their sourdough bread. The carrot cake was ridiculously large, but good enough to still want to eat it all in one sitting. I almost made it, but have enough for lunch tomorrow.
We just moved back to the area from living in Savannah, GA and looking for good seafood. This place was absolutely delicious. Our server, Kristen, was wonderful as well. Will definitely be returning!
They have completely changed their menu. Only a couple seafood pasta dishes, and no catch of the day. They have about 1/2 their menu as chicken and beef. The food was fairly bland, and you get a tiny portion of food.
Great place, food was outstanding, staff where vary professional, I was visiting my family in Pittsburgh, staying at the waterfront, I found this place on line,,my in laws thank me for finding a great family place like this,,I told them thanks, I know classic, whenever I see it...
I took my wife, son, and daughter in law here last night after many years in between visits. The environment is classy yet dimly lit. I had reservations for 715 and still needed to wait 15 min for the staff to clean a booth even though there were clearly others table options open and available. The menu is somewhat limited but offers good variety. Drink prices are quite steep. Appetizers were good. There was a significant lull in time between them and main course. When it did arrive I found the food to be quite plain. Where I was expecting, based upon the sheer price of the food, to be blown away, my party instead found our entrees to be nothing out of the ordinary. The very best item I had experienced was the jambalaya. Which was a side dish. On a good note. Our server was very friendly and attentive to our table. With all the options available in my area to eat, unless something significantly changes in the near future, I personally do not feel I will be returning back here to eat. The sheer cost of the night coupled with the ordinary taste of the food just does not warrant it.
Good fresh seafood. Decent service. A little pricey though
Tasty food and great service.
The crab legs are very good. I just wish i was on the beach eating them. I guess not really their fault.
Great service from Linda!
Exquisite meal..interfering waitress..deleted from our future
Surprised it was so quiet on a Friday night. Good service, very good food, excellent key lime pie
Food was awesome! Defiantly will be going back . First time there, won't be last.
Our first choice when we crave seafood. Good selection with reasonable prices.
Loved it. We will be back. We were looking for a reputable seafood restaurant for oysters. They prepared them perfectly and were delicious. The food was very well prepared and beautifully served. Nice decor. Dress was everything from dressy to casual. The staff was friendly and not overbearing. It is a fish market so be prepared for a little fishy smell in the air. We knew we were at the right place when the oysters were served fresh and yet had the right amount of palatable texture to them. The prices are very reasonable. If you are looking for great seafood then you will be glad you came.
Service was good. Food was average. Bathrooms were filthy.
Not a great experience. I'm really surprised that this place has such great reviews. The food is nothing to write home about and the management didn't offer any resolution when told about it. He made it seem like it was my fault for not asking them to cook it longer (yeah because cooking FISH longer makes it better...smh). I love seafood, but I will never return.
Great place for a business dinner. Staff were accommodating and responsive, even to our crew that got in late and had luggage to store. Food was delicious and (most importantly) fish and seafood was fresh. Would recommend to anyone looking for good seafood. Didn't personally try the steak but those that did endorsed it.
Over priced, so not impressed by the food or the service for what I paid. My food was cold my drink was salty.
Always fresh and fish is some of the best cooked to perfection! Love their catch of the day menu. Offers gluten free menu :) The seared Ahi Tuna appetizer is amazing.
Excellent staff and great food
Surf n Turf with Lobster Tail. OMG.
The last time we were at Mitchell's, it reminded us of when Fulton's decided to continue charging prices as if you're at an exceptional restaurant while serving food you could get at Red Lobster. But...we decided to use our $25 rewards and give Mitchell's another try last night. The bottom line is...if you order a fresh cut of fish prepared however you'd like and some veggies or sides and a Caesar salad, you're likely to pay too much but at least it's for a meal that tastes delicious...HOWEVER... anytime a restaurant of this caliber - or of the caliber Mitchell's used to be - decides it's okay to continue charging Mitchell's (Landry's) prices for entrees like crab cakes or crab stuffed anything and they use way too much filler or anytime a restaurant like this continues charging you lobster bisque prices for lobsterLESS bisque, it's time to cut your losses, remember the good ol' days when going to Mitchell's was something special with an absolute guarantee you're going to have a seafood meal in Louisville, KY that rivals the seafood meals you get at any fine dining establishment in your favorite coastal town, and just move on. We're not going to waste our money there anymore. We prepare more exquisite seafood entrees for ourselves at home and I grew up on the Chesapeake Bay so we'll just get our special seafood meals when we're visiting my family where the seafood restaurants know you can't put a noticable amount of filler in your crab and expect to stay in business. Fulton's went this route and we all know what happened to them... Mitchell's is going down the same path but they may survive longer because they're in Louisville, KY where not everyone knows good, quality seafood but if/when Mitchell's does close, it'll be a shame and it'll be due to greed. You all are making enough money to serve proper crab cakes and proper crab stuffing and still make money!
We always enjoy the food and service here. The patio is beautiful to sit on in the summer.
Always a great atmosphere & excellent food!
I walked away quite disappointed. The reason that I did not give one star was due to the potential this type of place could have. Anyhow, when I walked in, the hostess was just sitting down at a bench close to the hostess stand. She sat me at a booth, as requested. I went to look at the fresh fish case and all of the fish looked very dry and older. I was hoping that was just for display and not where they grabbed their servings from. I ordered a half dozen oysters and the pan-seared Chilean Sea Bass. The oysters were good, no complaints there. While I waited for my entree, I watched as another server came out of the back bringing two salads to another table while she was chewing on some food. That's the opposite of classy. When my entree arrived, the mashed potatoes were luke warm at best and my Sea Bass was overcooked, but only seared on one side. Not once did any employee ask how my food was. Overall, the place is definitely not worth the asking price and fail to deliver on what they represent. I will not visit again.
Great service polite staff prompt and great food
Hour and a half wait for a table for 2 really
Enjoyable dinner. Great service!
Mitchell's never disappoints. Delicious food, impeccable service, and a clean bathroom.
Best garlic bread ever
Such a great atmosphere
food is always good and so is service came on new year's eve for happy hour wasn't informed that there was no happy hour on a non holiday not in person or on the internet so sadly disappointed in the misdirection made by Mitchell's sea food will be along time before we will return there are a lot of other sea food restaurants in the area that honor there menu on the internet or in person like the bone fish grill for example
Sever and food was amazing! Mitchell's always delivers, never a disappointment.
I am on the keto diet and chef personally made me a fantastic lunch. Loved the salmon grilled in butter and herbs.
The food and service is top rated
Great food and decent service
Calm atmosphere. Raw oysters amazing fresh. Try the trout.
New port location offers better service. Best oysters I have had in a while at this location thou.
Friendly service and very accommodating to our elderly mother. Food was delicious.
Always amazing food and great service.
Used to love this place. No idea what happened. Our most recent visit was not great. Almost an hour wait for food. Our server didn’t even apologize and checked up on us only once. He told us the kitchen was backed up and rolled his eyes. I got the tuna- dry, over cooked and not even close to being worth the $31 price tag. This place has gone downhill. I would recommend to skip if you’re thinking of a visit.
A Lovely Place to Lunch!
The server was very good, the food very good (yet expensive), and the atmosphere was very nice. Upon being seated by the hostess I expressed concern that it was cold in the windowed area. She stated "she does not like to be warm when eating," I said I like to be comfortable when eating. A male, not our server, came around after we were finished eating and asked "how was everything " I said it was too cold in the area. He then stated " Oh, the heat just came on." Keep in mind we were finished eating. DO NOT SIT IN THE WINDOW AREA if you don't like being cold during your meal. I am irritated that the hostess and the man totally disregarded my concerns.
I had a discrepancy with the waitress but the food was excellent.
Delicious food, and good service!
Great food great ppl made my day!
Food is always outstanding. A bit pricey.
Good food! Its a little on the loud side.
Excellent service. The spinach and goat cheese salad is basically my favorite salad, ever. Also, hot and buttery sour dough bread is delightful.
Michelle‘s fish market by far has the best lobster bisque I’ve ever had. They have a good quality selection of fish from farm raised and wild card which I thought was great the waiters here are very attentive and accommodating would definitely recommend to anyone
Every thing was good, food was excellent but could have been hot instead of warm.
Wonderful service and food. Waiter especially patient with kids !
Always quality food and service
Used to be a pretty good place. Quality going downhill. Today, a literal shard of glass in my mashed potatoes! I will never be back!
Large seafood selection. Good. Waitstaff good. Bit pricey but not so much.
Excellent service first & foremost! The atmosphere was great & the food was exceptional!!! The dessert was just the best topping for a lovely night!!! Will definitely be back for more visits!!!
Took my wife herr for her birthday and the restaurant doesnt do anything to celebrate like candles or a free dessert. That was disappointing, but the calamari, caesar salad, and lemonade were exceptional. The lemonade is not free refill and the waiter was slow and not a great listener. Was expecting similar similar service that I received at McCormacks last week, but i suppose mitchells is more for the casual diner.
This place is awesome . Best Seafood in the area bar none . will be going back for sure
Great food and amazing service. good happy hour too
Crab legs were inedible, food quality very poor. Wont be going back. Service was good and waitress did take the crab legs off the bill.
It's ok. Conceptually, it always sound amazing, but have never had anything worth the cost
Food, service, and atmosphere was amazing. We had a problem with a gift card but the general manager was able to help us and did an amazing job to ensure we were able to use it. The staff seems very passionate in their work!
Good food. Good value. Good service.
What great and fresh food! In an informal yet entertaining atmosphere!
Excellent seafood. Sides and salads are very good as well.
This place is absolutely fantastic. First, the service was great and very friendly. The soft shell crab appetizer I had was very tasty and succulent. The clam chowder and lobster bisque were solid as well. The tuna poke bowl I ordered tasted very fresh and the tuna was great. I would also like to note the crab cakes and lobster mac and cheese were phenomenal. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Great Christmas Eve dinner. Thank you.
Not as good as the waterfront location
My first time here. I ordered the tuna, ot was ok/good. A little pricey for the quality. Great service, friendly waitstaff.
Great happy hour and food. Equally great service from Nicky.
Mikhail was our server and while service was slow, (long waits between drinks, app, entreés, corrections, dessert and bill) he took very good care of us. We were really able to enjoy the 2 hours and 15 minutes, al fresco, celebrating my birthday. It was a lovely, breezy evening.
Best food and service in town!
Good food, great staff. On the expensive side compared to other restaurants.
Best fish I've ever fookin tasted m8
We used to love Mitchell's, but the entire table agreed it does not taste as fresh as it used to. It wasn't bad, just not great.
Good food, great wine selection and great food.
I would not recommend this place. I used to be a fan. The quality of the food is definitely on the decline over the last couple of years. Me and my wife recently ate here a she got severe food poisoning afterwards. We suspect under cooked scallops. The other food was all over cooked and definitely not worth the money.
Great bar, great seafood, great people!
Ordered shrimp and scallops and only received scallops. I am not a big fan of seafood, however, I love shrimp. So I was rather disappointed. When we asked our waiter, he said it was only sea scallops. My family was certain the menu read “shrimp and sea scallops” and I even looked the menu up online and that is what I saw. So in essence, the waiter lied for absolutely no reason.
wanted to be impressed with this place but just didn't happen. the food was ok. the lobster was good, the scallops were good, the fries tasted like they were reheated from lunch. the drinks were the best part of dinner but we waited over 15 mins to get them after they were ordered. service was polite but lacking. it'd be different if they were busy or we hadn't made reservations but that wasn't the case. maybe we just caught them on a bad night but I won't spend that kind of money again to find out.
Always great. I get the Chilean Sea Bass with the ginger encrusted preparation. It nearly melts in your mouth. It is crazy good. I have never been anything but happy with anything I have ordered.
The waiters are extremely hard working and the food is the BOMB!! I took my mom and dad there yesterday for lunch and my dad really loves there food.
Decent place
Lobster and shrimp stuffed Cod was okay at best but the cherry cheesecake was the best...
Fresh fish specials very well prepared Drinks were a good poor send wine pairing was doing on, service very right pace . Fits all your needs groups, family, and romantic
The gumbo and pecan crusted trout were superb!
Rated this place before
Great food, wonderful service! Really clean restaurant.
Stopped in for lunch. Staff was great. The host was friendly. Had the stuffed cod. It was great. Wanted the beets but they were out. That's why they only get 4 stars.
Unfortunately this place has gone downhill in the past year or so. Use to be one of my favorite places. Food quality last two times we've been have been sub par.
Minds me o the good ol days in Bristol. The cod tasted nice and fishy like Slacky's Fish on the Estate. When I'm home alone I like to cover myself in Vaseline and pretend I'm a slug.
Good food and service
They have a nice happy hour. The people that work at the bar are very nice and friendly.
Good quality seafood!
The lobster Cobb salad was fantastic. Such a great twist.
Superb restaurant...great food, great staff and great atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Had drinks. Nice bar tenders
Not happy with my experience at Mitchell’s. Went there for seafood week and service was very slow and inconsistent. Had to ask for everything that I wanted and also asked for it again. Asked that my entrée be hot but saw it waiting on the service area. It ultimately it came to me luke warm and I sent my entrée back . Not a very happy camper
nice atmosphere and great food
Over price for what you get
Great food and friendly
The food was good A little overpriced but the food was good
We celebrated a special family occasion this afternoon. Gretchen's service was exceptional, the food excellent and the key lime pie prepared in house the best we have ever had.
Service and food are good!
Excellent salmon and Caesar salad
Great food and Staff
Food and service was great.
Overall exceptional experience. The service was excellent - attentive and friendly. The attention to detail, like warm bread, soft butter, and plating was great. Extra touch on my iced peach tea was that it was shaken, not just a big glop of syrup at the bottom of the glass and the addition of sprigs of mint was classy and thoughtful (nice touch Ben!). The red potatoes in the clam chowder were buttery soft and there were plenty of clams. The Tabasco remoulade carried a lot of kick, but paired well with the crab cake appetizer. And while the corn relish was tasty, maybe a nice mixed greens with a simple dressing would've lightened the dish a little. Dessert was a hard pick between the key lime and the creme brulee (which won). The vanilla creme really stood out and the brulee topping held a nice crunch. Would highly recommend and definitely will return for more.
Our new favorite seafood restaurant!!! Jambalaya was amazing, calamari best ever. Excellent service and atmosphere!!!
Awesome
Over the years the quality of the food has gone downhill. I haven't been there for about a year and my opinion is the same.
Excellent, as was expected. The salmon was really good and the filet mignon was cooked perfectly and so juicy!
This is the best place to get fresh seafood. There is nothing bad on the entire menu. Staff is great and our meal was amazing as always.
I would have been disappointed if I paid 12 dollars as opposed to 28. Over cooked, bland, and tiny portions. Service was mediocre. I’ve had shrimp from fast food chains that were better.
Everything you need !
Food was good but the temperature of the food could have been a lot hotter
Excellent service....meal was great.
Went for an office lunch. Service was impeccable. The very best spinach/artichoke dip I have ever had. I had the Lobster & Shrimp stuffed Cod. Amy had the Impossible Burger. I will be back. Michelle had the salad. Dr. K had the Salmon. I forgot what Lisa had. Everyone enjoyed themselves.
It wasn't worth the price.
Great seafood
I got the broiled shrimp + crab cake. The crab cake was simply not good. The shrimp wasn't deveined properly, so I had to do it myself. My husband's scallops were pretty small for the price and weren't cleaned properly (they were sandy). It was an okay experience, but I don't feel like it was a good value for the money.
I have been here several times this year and have never had a bad meal or experience. The happy hour specials include a large variety of options. I have only had seafood here, so cannot speak to their steak cooking. The fried platters are filling and not greasy. Both the sea bass and salmon are cooked to perfection. Also they have hush puppies which I always get.
For the money small and sloppy portions 2 plates had to go back to the kitchen. Took over 30 minutes to get a creme brulee.
Family and I went for date night. Food was mouth watering good. Server was friendly and even went beyond to help us eat low carb. Would have give 4.5 if I could. Only issues was my girlfriend would have liked more shrimp and she thought asparagus was bean stock size to big. But that was ok for me I ate both hers and mine. All 3 of us enjoyed ourselves.
Food is so so, service was slow but friendly, and location is kind of a pain depending on the time of day
This place was so good! I got the salmon and it was crazy good. There was some great service as well.
Great lunch and happy hour. Always consistent food quality and great service.
Food is exceptional, staff was friendly and provided great service.
A bit pricey and there was no heat. The food was decent, but the fried cod seemed way too greasy.
Fresh oysters, King crab, delicious scallops
Great service and food!
The food was incredible and the portion sizes were bigger than I thought and 100% worth the price!
Everything we tried was top notch
Hard to find good crab cakes but this place didn't disappoint. Expensive though
We just moved back to the area from living in Savannah, GA and looking for good seafood. This place was absolutely delicious. Our server, Kristen, was wonderful as well. Will definitely be returning!
The food was delicious and loved the atmosphere and professionalism of the staff.
STEVE IS THE MAN !!! STEVE WAS THE BEST SERVICE WE HAVE EVER HAD IN A RESTAURANT OR QUITE FRANKLY ANYWHERE ... HE BEATS MY AMAZING OCEAN PRIME EXPERIENCE. I WOULD PAY JUST TO HAVE STEVE AS MY SERVER. I MAY INVITE HIM TO MY WEDDING !! LOL ... OR TO JOIN MY FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUE. 10 STARS FOR STEVE !!!
They have completely changed their menu. Only a couple seafood pasta dishes, and no catch of the day. They have about 1/2 their menu as chicken and beef. The food was fairly bland, and you get a tiny portion of food.
Lunch with family. Service was great . Food was good . Atmosphere was comfortable.
Fantastic from the starters to the desserts - some of the freshest fish you'll find in town
Awesome ahi tuna bowl, Atlantic salmon, broil shrimp, pecan crusted trout, creme brulee awesome too, we recommend this restaurant....
Great service! Our waitress was knowledgeable, nice and polite. The food was delicious. A bit pricey but worth it for the quality of food and service.
I loved the food and atmosphere. Service was great.
They have gluten free options and wait staff plus cooks who take the time to make sure an order is also allergy friendly. Very helpful and grateful for the care.
Good soup and location
Food was awesome! Defiantly will be going back . First time there, won't be last.
What a great place food was 5 Star Action prices not bad at all had little to no wait on food Yummmm
Great food an service..
Service was good. Food was average. Bathrooms were filthy.
Was there for appetizers and some beverages. Pricey but good
Awesome food. Nice environment.
The wait was Over a hour To GO!
Great food and wonderful service.
Over priced, so not impressed by the food or the service for what I paid. My food was cold my drink was salty.
Excellent staff and great food
Very good. Excellent service.
Server was attentive food was good.
Good food. Very expensive
First time there and we were SUPER impressed ! Lisa is a EXCEPTIONAL server !
Excellent food and excellent service. Atmosphere is spectacular
Tasty as always...
I would not eat there as I have a seafood allergy. I was in the mall but not at the restaurant!
Great food !! if you can ask to sit in Paul's area very nice person very helpful!!!!
Mitchell's fish market is an excellent restaurant. Food is freshly prepared and delicious. Place is clean , ambience is great. The servers are very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this place who loves seafood.
Great people and great fish
My wife and I were celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary at Mitchell's Fish House. The crabcakes and shrimp were wonderful, and my wife loved the stuffed flounder. And the service is great.
It was wonderful. Service was excellent.
Lovely atmosphere and great service. I would like to go back and try some other menu items. I did not care for the seafood platter. It was heavily breaded with beer batter and extremely greasy. The hot bread, salad and shrimp appetizer were fantastic.
Food for all ages
Great bar and excellent food.
The pan seared scallops were cooked to perfection.
This place is amazing in every way. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was delightful, they were very accommodating, and the food was prepared promptly. I cannot say enough good about this place! I live 4 hours away, but I will return and dine with them again!
Great seafood. Fresh and well prepared. Lively staff with a positive spin. Al fresco patio is a nice summertime venue.
We had our wedding reception there, it was a sudden the moment wedding. We called the day of and asked it we can make reservations for wedding party of about 20 to 25 they said we can have the patio. Which was amazing, it was private and The atmosphere was great the sun sets right In front of you. When we got there and they realized it was a gay wedding they were so excited! It was their first gay wedding there. They gave us complimentary dessert And drinks The servers Michelle and Missy we're on top of there game. The food was amazing probably some of the sea food you can fine around here without going to the ocean. And at a reasonable price. Definitely never forget that night there.
Awesome lunch. Shrimp scampi
Good food. Ok service.
Food very good and as noted in other posts $$$. Service prompt. Offers food and drink discounts during happy hour, but only applicable when seated at the bar. Staff friendly. A definite must when in area.
Extremely good food. Tables spaced very well considering everyone there is usually speaking about business of some sort
Excellent service. Excellent food.
Food awesome, service was great all-around.
The services was good and the food was excellent
Pricy and good food. Plain decore.
Delicious trout.mmm. possibly the best margarita ever.
We had a 5:30 reservation but we weren’t seated until after 6:00. We waited at the bar for our table where my husband was served a terrible old fashioned and I was given raw red onion in my martini (despite the strange garnish, the martini was good). We way overpaid for our drinks and we’re finally seated. The staff was very clearly overwhelmed so I can’t really blame them for being short. I told our waitress we had a show to get to at 7:00 (which is why we made the reservation for 5:30) and asked what items on the menu would be fastest. She became very annoyed with me and told me to look over at all the tickets outside the kitchen window. So we ordered salads. We won’t be back.
Food was excellent. Service was excellent.
The fish was great but my son's paella had zero clams and that's why he ordered it VERY expensive as usual.
Calm and relaxing atmosphere. Fish cooked so it will melt in your mouth, flacky and perfect. Waiters are friendly and hospitable. Music is soothing, lighting is perfect, bathrooms are clean. Is pricey, but worth it, and reasonable for the quality. Nice family place that takes you away from the stresses of this world.
My husband and I had dinner at Mitchell's Fish Market on Saturday. My daughter and son-in-law joined us. Our server was friendly but very slow, she seemed overwhelmed although there were many servers working. Our meals came before our salads, my husband ordered a wedge salad and they were out of head lettuce. I ordered the tuna bowl and it was served without the tuna! I was brought a large bowl of tuna to add to it but we had to wait for it. And the food was expensive for what we ordered and how it was served. We were very disappointed and will not return.
All if the fish is frozen and sauces taste like they are bagged. Service is not up to par for the price you pay here. You can find better quality and service across the street.
Went there last night right before closing, which I know can be annoying for a staff ready to close. The GM greeted us and was very welcoming. Our waiter was great, food was wonderful a dm drinks were AMAZING (best in the waterfront). Really enjoyed our dinner and we were happy they didn’t make us feel like they were rushing us out or we got the last serving of food left.
Excellent....food was delicious beyond words.. Service was impeccable !
Mitchell's is my favorite seafood restaurant.
Nice ambiance, good quality seafood and menu, drinks and service. Recommended.
If you're in the area it's a definitely must have. Excellent!
Ocean Cobb is as close to a Crab Louie salad as I've had in Indy.
Never a bad experience. Food was very tasty. The Maine Lobster Bisque was excellent!
Last minute reservations made for a Friday night during Lent... called back as we drove the 3 hour trip to Indianapolis and asked to push it back 30 min... still arrived late and the staff was GREAT and helpful through all our changes. Food was excellent, service was quick, and I can't imagine any reason to complain.
Been going to this place for years! Never disappointed! I never get the same thing because I want to try EVERYTHING!!! Food is so good, GREAT portion sizes, prices are worth it! I went to several places trying to be like this but it's definitely my number 1 place for good seafood in PA ! I try to stop by everytime I'm in the area! Highly suggest this place!
The place was empty, which should have been a warning. The inside was hot and humid, which isn't a good combination for a fish market. Every single server looked absolutely miserable and clearly did not want to be there. Our drink orders were wrong multiple times until we just gave up. We were still charged for them. The entrees we mediocre, salmon was over cooked. Do not recommend.
Spicy crispy shrimp are the best! And I don’t even like shrimp. :)
The happy hour is amazing! Drinks and food selections top notch.
Love Mitchell's Fish Market. The food is always great and they have the best desserts!! Their carrot cake it out of this world.
Food was ok not worth the money in my opinion my steak was undercooked and tough otherwise was good
Beer was good. Food was excellent. Bartender's were fun to talk to and they found the NCAA games on the TV for me.
The atmosphere was great, nice staff and wonderfull views. However, I did not like the food.
Best salmon ever. They said it's never frozen so that may be why it's so good.
My favorite restaurant ❤ With a prior reservation, service is fast, efficient and friendly.
They kept rushing me to buy more food when I told them I was there for an apetiser. Bartender was rude.
Nice lunch. A bit pricey
The food was pretty good. The server botched our order, but she was attentive and made amends for it. I had the sixty south salmon, cedar plank roasted, ceasar salad. It was all pretty good.
Awesome food and service!
The service and staff were phenomenal. The restaurant is very big, clean, and updated. I would recommend business casual attire. The only reason to doc a star was the price. We got a very good seafood trio to split, and even though it was very good, it wasn't amazing as the $30 price. Still would definitely recommend for a change of pace or an out of towner stop
Nice very relaxed atmosphere. The fish is as fresh as you can get when in Kentucky. Servers very nice.
Seated for lunch but could not get served. Eventually walked over to Martini’s.
The staff were really friendly and attentive the food came out hot and amazing overall a very good experience.
The service was great. Good was just ok. But what bothered me the most, was the powder room was disgusting. I discreetly told the waiter, as to not tell the hostess with people coming in. As I left, I had to go the the restroom again, only to find the same dirty toilets. So they did nothing. I reported to the host at that point,(as no customers were around), and told him I reported to our waiter, as to not embarrass anyone up front, but now finding nothing was done was uncalled for. Thus the 3 star rating. Had it been cleaned, after reporting the first time, I would not even be writing a review.
I absolutely hated..... the fact that there was so many great choices in menu items. The service was top notch and the food was just simply amazing. Gordon Ramsey would be proud. Everything was cooked perfectly and definitely showed professionalism. 23/10 Would recommend to all my friends.
First visit and now I'm trying to figure out why ive waited so long to come here. Great service delicious food, definitely will be back!
Just ok. Waiters pleasant but too inexperienced to serve large group. Bathroom should have been checked. Needed attention.
Ordered half dozen oysters, seared tuna, stuffed cod with lobster and 8oz filet migno... seared tuna was peppered so much could not tasted anything... I sent it back...but it was seared just the way I asked... basically same with the stake, cooked perfectly but salted so much barley was able to eat it. I would have sent it back but they where closing so did not wanted to wait for another one.
The fish is good. The fries were several hours old and reheated. The lobster Mac& cheese had no detectable cheese. The service was excellent.
Good prices and good selection of sea food
good food and excellent service
Incredible food and value! Went here for date night and got the Ultimate Seafood platter. Lobster, Scallops, and Shrimp with sides, which were also very good, at a very reasonable price! You will not be disappointed!
Make sure you ask for the waiter Paul. He is the best. The food was great but he is what truly made it a 5 star experience!!
Wonderful host and experienced chef in an upscale setting. We love to visit this place over and over again. Also we can take fresh fish home to cook later.
The best part about this place was the wait staff and that's basically where it ends. The atmosphere was nice and classy but there was a continuous loud beeping noise that came from the kitchen that was distracting and when we mentioned it to the manager they claimed they couldn't do anything about it. The food was mediocre at best. The bread we received as an app had spots of mold on it and it looked like we weren't the only table with that problem. The lettuce on our salads were wilted and brownish. And our entrées were ok but not as good as the menu led us to believe. If you want good seafood I'd suggest going to a local market in Pittsburgh were you can see what you're buying before you eat.
This is the best place. I love there food.❤❤
Love it very nice, top notch from top to bottom, u should try it if u haven't, great staff
Great food, good atmosphere plus servers & waitress were all really nice. They let my friend & I hang out for 3 hours & never tried to rush us out, on a Saturday night too.
Mitchell's is one of my favorite restaurants. The crabcakes are the best in town and the servers are always friendly!
We really enjoy Mitchell's. Our server is awesome and the GM was nice to talk to. My only concerns is that the air is filled with lawn care products and as an allergy sufferer, it takes the experience frame A-one awesome to good. No fault of Mitchell's; It's the mall management.
It's okay. Decent prices. Decent food. No complaints but nothing to write home about.
Excellent food and great service.
I’ve come here many times and have never had a bad meal. The fish is always cooked appropriately, and no one in my party has ever gotten ill after eating here. My four stars is because I am not partial to fish, however, my wife and mother-in-law very much enjoy coming here. The wait staff and servers are very friendly and helpful with explaining any dishes. They were also very gracious and understanding when (on a recent visit) my son spilled his water all over the table and himself. They got him clean towels to dry himself and the table. We’ll continue to come here since this is one of the better fish places in the South Hills. From late spring through early fall the outdoor patio is open and you can get good views of the Mon river rolling gently below. The Homestead Grays Bridge provides a dramatic backdrop to the scene, and the GAP (Greater Allegheny Passage) bike trail runs right next to the restaurant. Bikers often stop here for lunch.
Best meal I had in a long time.
Wonderful staff. Fantastic food. Great environment. Excellent selection. Definitely recommending and definitely returning.
Awesome atmosphere with a laid back personality. Sam was our server and was spot on! Food was delicious! The oysters are a must! And the cosmo was refreshing!
Excellent food - excellent service. Would go back in a minute
Love coming here, always enjoyable
Too expensive for me. Their seafood gumbo is delicious. I didn't care for their cod.
We went to dinner at Mitchell's because of the 20/20 shrimp special. They offered two dishes a shrimp boil and a shrimp trio of shrimp salad, blackened shrimp skewer and shrimp scampi pasta. The shrimp boil was just ok. The flavor was bland with a lot of heat. The sausage in the boil was really good. The shrimp was over cooked like it was boiled the same amount of time as the potatoes. The shrimp trio dish was good, although the shrimp salad was flavorless.
Seafood great! Big selection. Great atmosphere. Patio on the river trail.
Great food, great service only lacked 5 stars because of price but then many times you do get what you pay for.
Ordered the fish and chips. Flakey fish but strong beer taste and nothing more. Fries and hushpuppies wasn't all that great either. Beautiful views, clean restaurant and staff was very friendly. Just wasn't worth the high price
Pleasant atmosphere, good service and food.
Really good. Went here for a birthday. On the medium-high side of prices. Everyone enjoyed the fish and shrimp across the board.
My daughter & I inhaled 1 dozen baked oysters followed by the crabcake dinner. Excellent service. Tried & loved the fresh made Peach Iced Tea. We look forward to our next meal there☺
My boyfriend and I went here for a special outing to celebrate. It was hot in the restaurant, our food(including the appetizer) took almost an hour to come out and when it did my entree of grouper topped with lobster and shrimp was so dry I could tell just by looking at it. My dish also came with asparagus and red potatoes on the side, the asparagus was yummy but there was only five pieces and the potatoes were seasoned nicely but honestly they were a bit too undercooked. My boyfriend's dish was I take on fried fish and chips and he said it was okay but for the almost $25 price it could have been way better. Our waiter was nice and attentive when he could be but he was very busy and obviously frustrated by the lengthy time it took forever food to come out and all the other tables he was taken care of by himself. Suffice it to say we were disappointed and if we hadn't received a gift card from a friend we probably would have spoken to a manager about our disappointment.
Service was excellent. Great dinner
Great food. Lobster, tilapia, muscles, creme brulee. Loved all of it.
Had a Graduation celebration in the private room tonight. Friends and family had filet mignon, rib eye, blackened salmon, tri seafood, crab legs, oysters, potatos, asparagus, scallops,....everything was perfect!! Server was great!! Thank you.
Love, love this place. Great service.
Just delicious.
Always great... fresh and good atmosphere
Hoisin BBQ Tuna was spectacular. Always pleased. A little pricey. Pleasant wait staff.
Food not worth the price
Great seafood place and v good service
Good food and great beer selection
Fine dining without feeling like it's over-the-top. This seafood restaurant is a nice change from the Red Lobsters and Bahama Breezes of the world. My only criticism is that they don't have any "wow" dish that I have to come back and try, even if that dish were a dessert, it'd still be nice to have something to really look forward to when someone says, "let's go to Mitchell's." The food is great, and the service is fantastic (really, I have no complaints about any of it), I just wish it went the extra mile. Oh well, still a great option if you want seafood.
Penny is the best bartender this side of the Mississippi.
Everything we got was overcooked (shrimp, scallops, Salmon) and lacked any real flavor. The crab cake was average and caeser salad had brown canned anchovies. I would expect this from a much cheaper casual restaurant but Mitchell's claims to be a Fish Market that should know how to prepare seafood properly. I gave a bonus star because the service was good.
Great wait staff and salad but lobster extremely undercooked.... How do you mess up a lb 1/4 lobster??? Sesame Tuna was terrific.
I have always had a good experience here. The food is pretty good, especially when you can get the Copper River salmon, drinks are tasty, and the wait staff generally seem to be helpful. My only complaint would be I think they are a touch on the pricey side.
Outstanding food, happy hour is a huge plus with $6 Cosmopolitans and cheap apps
I'm sorry the food and the service was horrible we were there right after lunch it was no one in the restaurant and it was just horrible
I love this place, food service etc.
It was great!!! Food was very good. Atmosphere was good. It was an good place. Going back!!!!
Fresh seafood with good menu selection. Knowledgeable waitstaff and comfortable atmosphere. Generous cocktails were well prepared. Worth the extra money for the quality.
Excellent service, excellent food. Some of the best seafood i have ever had. Recommend the blackened swordfish.
Good fish restaurant. A bit crowded. Good variety of food. Prices are a bit expensive. Thanks.
Absolutely delicious fish, lobster, lobster bisque, key lime pie and cheesecake. Amazing friendly service. Highly recommend!
First and last time here. My entree was just shy of 30 dollars and I couldn’t even stomach it. I will say the house salad was really good, but it didn’t live up to my liking in the fish department. They were under staffed and waitress seemed overwhelmed. The bath room was atrocious. No go on this one.
Great food and service
We had the Dynamic Duo and it was great.
Great Mahi with sweet pepper glaze
Brought two of my closest friends here. I have to admit, this is a fantastic place to double date. My friends know my wife and I love eating here, but the 4 of us decided to dress up and make the most of this night. Food and drink were outstanding. Very fresh. I feel like my wife and I just introduced 2 more fans of Mitchell's Fish Market. For a nice, classy night out on the town, this is the spot!
Food was good, service was solid
Fast, friendly service. Had the Chilean Sea Bass with Taylor Fladgate 20yr for dessert. Cooked asian style. What a treat. :-)
Excellent Chilean Sea Bass ..
Good place to go for good food.
Great place to eat!
Great food outstanding service!
Service and food was phenomenal!
First time, great time, we'll be back!
Had a great time at Mitchell's. The food was great and our server/bartender Angela went above and beyond to accommodate my food allergy. She was very attentive and provided superb service. I will always ask for Angela.
Ordered a 6 oz filet medium well. At least our waitress told me it was 6 ounces when I asked. What was served was charred pieces of beef tips on a wooden skewer. All the pieces were small and had gristle running through them. Shortly after I sent it back the (I assume) manager returned with it and explained that the chef told him it was either "like this" or rare. Seriously he told me that. I said I'd rather it be on the rare side than burned. What was brought out next looked ok on the outside, but it was raw on the inside. When I cut into each piece I saw there was strings of gristle running through all the pieces. That explained why it didn't cut like a tender filet: it wasn't a filet. I've ordered steak at other Landry seafood restaurants and they were excellent. Fortunately our waitress brought me an appetizer to replace the returned raw meat. I caution you to ask questions concerning the menu at this restaurant, like "will the filet be either burned or raw?" Here's what I ordered: Filet + Shrimp Brochette roasted redskins, asparagus, chimichurri
For a fish market the burger was amazing.. and service was great.
Great menu and delicious food.
Always enjoy dining here.
A chain restaurant, with many of the foods frozen and warmed for customers. If you're looking for fresh fish go to Caplinger's!
Great Soup and seafood.
I am not much of a seafood guy. But what I had was good. This place has been a rock of the waterfront for years.
Food was good but way over priced.bread wasn't done.
Service was slow, and one dinner was completely incorrect. Also, deserts served with n utensils. We we were two of 4 people in the reaurant.
Delicious and top notch service
Good Seafood Place. Service was average and prices a bit high especially on drinks. Nice patio for outdoor dining and they do group functions in private rooms.
Excellent! Food was perfect! It is so easy to ruin fish, no worries about that here. My father ordered 1/2 dozen raw oysters add said they were the best oysters he'd ever had, add he's had his share! The seared tuna app was awesome as well!
Ordered a steak medium well, it came out medium or less. Sucked it up and ate it only because we were on time schedule and didn't have time to wait for them to redo it. And left hungry....
Great food and service!
The only 2 non-disappointments were our server and the location. She was great, very helpful and got our bill quickly. The food was mediocre at best. I suspect they were low on gas for their stoves - everything was undercooked, without any surface. Even the "homemade" bread was undercooked/underwarmed. Our appetizer was mussels in white wine sauce. Typically, the mussels are just the excuse to get the yummy sauce, but in this case the watery "sauce" came in a whole liter - underflavored, with tiny bits of tomatoes in it. No need for undercooked bread to soak up this dilute flavorless mess. The location - nicely located on the river - on the GAP trail. My gorgeous wife and I can't wait to bike the GAP trail this summer. Now we know of one place to avoid on our way home from Cumberland, MD.
My go to place when the family is celebrating a special event.
Delicious seafood in a quiet, convenient area. Staff is professional, knowledgeable, helpful.
We had a private dinner with our family before my son was married and choose Mitchell's because of the great food. We used the private room and to no surprise the food was amazing, but the service was extremely the best. It was such a very special dinner to have together as my grown men children are now across the country and it was very special to me to have this special dinner and for it to be a great experience while we were all together. Thank you so much for a terrific memory and delicious food.
The soup and shrimp were great. The rest of dinner was just a disappointment. Service was good but meal quality was slightly lacking. My swordfish steak was raw.
Good food, nice patio area, portions of fish can be inconsistent.
Cody was our server and his customer service was awesome! The food was good. I really enjoyed the ambiance.
Horrible overall!!! Came in for a 1st experience to celebrate my dear friend's graduation. While the food had reasonable flavor, it was cold. Brought the temperature issue to the server's attention and she took our plates to the kitchen and came back with them as they were only warmer. I have never seen a restaurant not remake a meal that wasn't made correctly to begin with. Add insult to injury, i then realized the table lamp was filthy. It looked as if it had not been cleaned in weeks. #Disgusting. The manager, Katie, was completely unhelpful and dismissive. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Kona Grill is across the street. I'm sure it's better and they have more locations.
The salmon was amazing. Jerk wahoo, seasoned to perfection was enough to come bqck for. Service was great.
Great food, service, and atmosphere even though it was super busy and crowded.
Food is very good.
Delicious food Great waitress Becky Thank you
Good food but atmosphere is lacking
Used open table for a reservation, we arrived early sat at the for drinks. The hostess and bartenders were very pleasant. Was happy to see the place busy as previous visits had light crowds. Our server Bridget was excellent. Very courteous and fun. The food was fantastic, my wife had lobster and shrimp stuffed and really liked it. I had the chefs special filet and shrimp scampi, the steak was cooked perfectly. Overall an excellent evening.
Service great! Food less than mediocre....and expensive.
I went there with two others and after an really good night of food, cocktails and super good attention their point for credit cards was broke and they let us go home without paying... I have to say that I was impressed of the friendly treat!
Disappointing food. The food is not good nor fresh. Sat at the bar for a quick bite but we couldn't even finish our food. The bartender was nice and he made me a great martini and went out of his way to make it the way I requested, with blue cheese olives. Drinks are fine at this but don't eat here!
The food is cooked to perfection. The ambiance is pleasant. Elegant. Out door sitting is nice and romantic. Bathrooms are clean. Friendly staff. And I love how to supply fresh water to patrons who use the walk path.
The gumbo is deliciously good!
This was the worst meal I've ever paid for. We waited a very long time to even be greeted by our server and then again to get our drinks which were sub standard at best. We hadn't been here in a long time because lour last experience was less than satisfying. We won't be returning
Great food and service. The carrot cake is a must.
My family went to Mitchell's for a late lunch around 2ish. They have an nicely varied lunch menu that has some differences from the dinner menu. Mom loves their sandwiches, and I love the Shanghai style fish (cod is the best that way). Our server was a little new, but did a good job. It wasn't terribly crowded, but it wasn't empty either. Overall a good experience.
Always good food.
Great people and great fish
Lovely atmosphere and great service. I would like to go back and try some other menu items. I did not care for the seafood platter. It was heavily breaded with beer batter and extremely greasy. The hot bread, salad and shrimp appetizer were fantastic.
One of the most pristine dishes I've ever ordered at a restaurant. Super-fancy. This is a place you go to for the fanciful affair, not the food. The food is really good, but you can pay literally half the amount and get 90% of the experience somewhere else. That said, I have to give this place 5 stars as everything about my dish was as perfect as can be.
Overpriced. Decent food decent service. Just decent for $$$
This place is amazing in every way. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was delightful, they were very accommodating, and the food was prepared promptly. I cannot say enough good about this place! I live 4 hours away, but I will return and dine with them again!
Being allergic to fish made me worry due to cross contamination, but they did great working around what i needed/asked as well having many options to choose from. heard good things about them so took the risk (gotta live a little dangerously) and enjoyed what i got. little pricy but overall a good experience.
Great seafood. Love the King Crab legs!
This is one of the best places I have ever had for seafood. Top 3 in my book. The bacon wrapped shrimp and ginger crusted salmon is excellent.
Good food, reasonable pricing, good beer selection.
It was great. The food and the service.
I have been there several times and each time the service has been great as well as the food. I like that the menu has options for almost everybody. The oysters on the half shell were great and one that I didn’t like they gladly replaced. It’s definitely on the top choices for fine dining
Great food and drinks, in the bar area we visited!
Had the pan seared scallops (well) they were kinda tough and dried out, the manager replaced and was very nice and polite but they were still tough... overall a good dining experience sans the scallop experience. I went here on my Birthday so the meal was a bit of a letdown.
Great seafood
The calamari and spicy shrimp was delicious. My entree was just okay. The salmon was delicious but a small piece. Ashley was our server and did a great job that's why I gave them 4 stars. I really like Mitchell and this was the first time I was a little disappointed. So will be going back.
Easy reservations... amazing service, incredible Food ... thank u very much for making a special evening just perfect .
Not as nice as the fish market in Cincinnati
Excellent....food was delicious beyond words.. Service was impeccable !
I'm definitely a fan of Mitchell's! Came in with a pretty large group on a Thursday evening and had no issue getting seated. We started out with some appetizers. You can't go wrong with the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp and the Crab, Spinach and Artichoke Dip. Both of them were really satisfying and delicious. We also got Calamari but I wasn't a fan of that. It was too fishy and rubbery for my taste. Their specials sounded really good that day. I got the Salmon species which came with purple mashed potatoes. I don't remember the name of it but I think it changes pretty often anyway. The salmon was great quality but I think it was slightly overcooked. Everyone I came with seemed really happy with their meals. Our waitress was really fun and attentive the entire time. I definitely recommend Mitchell's for seafood lovers.
Mitchell's is my favorite seafood restaurant.
Nice ambiance, good quality seafood and menu, drinks and service. Recommended.
As a part of this opening team in 2005, I know for a first hand fact how good the quality of the food can. However over the years I am sad to say how this restaurant has declined in quality. The restaurant has an exuberant and warm decor, accompanied by an established bar with plenty of drinks, wine, and food on the menu. Once known for the their fresher then fresh seafood, sadly that is no longer the case. Ruth’s Chris bought this restaurant franchise several years and made their own changes to cut cost and “improve” the restaurant. The menu is still decent with the seafood being above average quality, but this restaurant needs to revert back to its old ways. Great drink selection, and a large patio for summer time seating. Great for a family night out, happy hour, or maybe even lunch after golf with friends. Try the BBQ Shrimp, and ask your server how they can make you a “Raving Fan”, ....of Mitchell’s Fish Market.
We ordered lobster tails and mahi mahi and both the dishes were delicious
The service at the bar was great!
Spicy crispy shrimp are the best! And I don’t even like shrimp. :)
Service is always great! Menu has a variety of seafood choices. Chef has not disappointed as of yet. Bartenders are amazing!
I would have liked to had a better experience for the price we paid. Service was a little slow, but they were busy. My salmon was supposed to be ginger crusted, but I couldn't even taste the ginger (although the salmon was delicious). My vegetable mix didn't seem to be what was described in the menu...it said there were sweet potatoes in it but I'm sure the orange slivers in mine were carrots, and if they had maple butter on it I couldn't taste it. My husband ordered a side of roasted vegetables that didn't show up until we were ready to leave (they comped them and gave us a doggie bag). Maybe if we went back on a slower evening it would be better. The food was good, but not the greatest experience.
Excellent food, lowered volume on music compared to last visit much appreciated . Our guests and us loved our food
Food was great.. Was surprised the place looked like a ghost town on a Friday evening.
Mitchell's Fish Market Galleria
Went on a weeknight. Dining room was almost empty. We ordered appetizers, salads, and entrees. Appetizers and salads came out at the same time, less than 5 minutes later the entrees came out. We mentioned that the table was too small to hold everything and that the entrees would get cold - our server just walked away. This wasn't the first time we felt like we were being hustled out - but this time we took the hint.
They kept rushing me to buy more food when I told them I was there for an apetiser. Bartender was rude.
Just got a "to go" dinner and it was fabulous!!
The food was good but skimpy. Entree salad was cut up like a chopped. Served on a pretty plate but not much there. I don't expect a gallon bowl, but when paying for entree sized, I want a decent portion. Cup of clam chowder good, lots of butter, but low on contents, barely any potatoes or clams. Bread pudding, was cold vs warmed but they fixed issue right away. May go back once more to give another chance. And that's it.
Nice seafood place. Great selection and friendly servers. It will be nicer to at least have pictures of the menu items so people wonder if their order is going to be worth it or not.
Had it been cleaned, after reporting the first time, I would not even be writing a review.
sea bass - pork belly of the sea. absolutely fabulous.
My husband and I love it here. A bit pricey, but worth it. Love, love, love their shrimp cocktails and just about everything on the menu. Always good food and service!!
Fantastic meal today consisting of shrimp gumbo soup (never had it before) and broiled cod. Yumm! Love the atmosphere and the decor of this location.
Really good option for fresh fish entrees in West Chester. While some people get down about "chain" restaurants, Mitchell's dishes are clearly freshly and carefully prepared. Ingredients are always fresh and clean tasting, they don't over-season, and portions are generous but not enormous. It may not be the most unique meal you'll ever eat, but for delicious and fresh seafood meals in West Chester, it's a great option.
Great visit! Our meal was delicious & our waitress Lauren was wonderful! The chef made sure everything was perfect.
Everything was excellent here, best Margarita and scallops were perfect. Service is superb.
Just ok. Waiters pleasant but too inexperienced to serve large group. Bathroom should have been checked. Needed attention.
Quality of food is fabulous. We go there whenever we can.
Good place in a populated area
Terrible service... Multiple errors: prolonged delay (salads arrived 45 minutes after seating...entrees at one hour ten minutes).... Wine inappropriate temperature... Failed to bring water despite r multiplier requests... Quality of food was mediocre: trout exceedingly dry. The fried fish player was quite good however: up to the standards of our finest local Long John Silver's, only 3 times more expensive. Recommend finding another seafood establishment.
We wher party of 20 people and reasturant was real busy, and have to say they nailed it from the front of the house to the back of the house .
Fishy shrimp. Other food was good
Food, as always, was fantastic. I partook in the Chilean sea bass (blackened) and did not regret it. I also wish to specifically highlight the Mitchell's ceasar salad as being very good. Unfortunately the restaurant was atypically busy (evening of Sunday, June 10) and as a result was the kitchen was understaffed leading to an exceptionally long visit.
Good for happy hours and grab a bite
Always totally enjoy everything from this place!
Love it very nice, top notch from top to bottom, u should try it if u haven't, great staff
The carrot cake was delicious, and though the picture may not look it, it's definitely big enough for 3 to 4 people to all get some!
Mitchell's is one of my favorite restaurants. The crabcakes are the best in town and the servers are always friendly!
Excellent seafood and service, but sort of expensive. Impressive desserts, too. Plenty of free covered parking. It's in the Galleria in Mt. Lebanon, so you can window-shop to walk off feeling too full!
It's okay. Decent prices. Decent food. No complaints but nothing to write home about.
Good selection of seafood, good service, reasonable prices, what's not to like? Plenty of parking on the side and back.
Not fond of mitchells had a mediocre meal there
Went here for a company dinner. Service was so bad and slow my boss had to nearly snatch a waitress just order something. Food wasn't any better. Overall wouldn't go back.
The seafood tastes really fresh and is perfectly cooked.
Drinks could be stronger, but the food is amazing and the customer service is great!!!
Great fish offer, good service. Make your reservations, Can get a bit crowdy
Scallops are delicious. The gumbo not so much.
Awesome atmosphere with a laid back personality. Sam was our server and was spot on! Food was delicious! The oysters are a must! And the cosmo was refreshing!
Always a great selection of seafood options that are prepared exactly as requested.
it is a landry's affilite and are suppose to provide preferential treatment to landry 's members when it comes to seating. On multiple occasions no consideration was given the landry's membership.....better to remove themselves from the landry's list so that there are no expectations.
We had a fantastic evening. Service and food , Excellent!!!
Awesome food!different ways to have fish& seafood/ only complaint seemed to take forever to get our order although we weren't in a hurry !My friend had do go salmon !I had combo of salmon shrimp & scallops steamed Shanghai style !gumbo & oysters charred DELICIOUS !atmosphere good too
Great food, great service only lacked 5 stars because of price but then many times you do get what you pay for.
42 bucks for king crab legs. Came out looking like they were in the freezer for 2 years. Mentioned the problem to server. He says “hmm” and walks away. I’m not one to pressure the house, it’s easier to live and learn and let others know. Don’t come here.
Really good. Went here for a birthday. On the medium-high side of prices. Everyone enjoyed the fish and shrimp across the board.
This is one of the best seafood restaurants away from the coast. I have been going here for years, but you could see small differences in quality as the chain changed owners.
I had high hopes when heading there for the first time since i am a seafood lover. The bartender was friendly and attentive. The fried platter that i got was just ok. The scallops had some sand grit to them. The overall problem with the platter is everything was very greasy. The crabcake sandwich did not have much taste. It was not a crabcake that had lump pieces of crab but one that it was very dense with tiny pieces and filler pressed tightly together. We only ate half of the sandwich between my wife and I since we really did not enjoy it.
This restaurant is an expensive version of red lobster. You get asked if you like tap, spring, or bottle water. If you choose anything other than tap you get charged. The food was good. If you like fine dining and seafood. You should definitely try it.
Food is good. Lobster bisque is excellent. Service is hit or miss, some days it's good, and some days not so much. Today several tables seated long after us were able to order way before us.
I had previously posted a positive review of Mitchell's after several very good experiences. Unfortunately I have had to delete that review after contracting food poisoning from here. When we contacted Mitchell's about the incident they were completely unapologetic and even somewhat hostile towards us. I worked in the restaurant industry for nearly 6 years. I know what a common flu/virus is and what food poisoning is, this was food poisoning. Symptoms began within 1-2 hours of consuming my meal at Mitchell's. For the next 24 hours my body attempted to reject all food and liquid inside of it. Luckily my wife works in the medical industry and knew how to keep liquids in me and avoid a trip to the hospital. Thanks for ruining seafood for me Mitchell's.
Great food. Lobster, tilapia, muscles, creme brulee. Loved all of it.
Was here in April 2019. I got the Poke' bowl and spent the next 2 days violently throwing up every few hours. My entire body ached but, the stomach pain was unlike anything I've ever had before. Stay away from that dish.
Great food, great service.
Always great... fresh and good atmosphere
Hoisin BBQ Tuna was spectacular. Always pleased. A little pricey. Pleasant wait staff.
Food not worth the price
Good food and great beer selection
Love everything about this restaurant. I wish they would bring back the cut square bread pudding version. The cut square was sooo moist and gooey. The cup version isn't the same. Too dry. They have the best seafood dishes. Been going since soft opening.
Always a wonderful experience I always start with the lettuce, then share a meal with a friend. The service is wonderful and everything on the menu is terrific
I'm sorry the food and the service was horrible we were there right after lunch it was no one in the restaurant and it was just horrible
Good fish restaurant. A bit crowded. Good variety of food. Prices are a bit expensive. Thanks.
Located in the Galleria, the seafood tastes good and gluten free options are available. Typically 5 fresh fish catch options accompanied by lobster and shrimp meals are on the menu.
This restaurant has really gone down in service and food quality. Very slow kitchen and when Swordfish arrived 45 minutes later, it was like rubber and raw so told them to toss it and credit my tab. The place was slow Saturday afternoon so I expected better service. A total waste of time. Talked to manager about my experience. I definitely can no longer recommend Mitchell's Fish Market!
First impression is it very loud. All of the food and drinks were good but upon finishing dinner I noticed other tables had bread. We had none to enjoy with dinner but upon questioning our waitress about it was given to us to take home. Not sure if we will return even though the food was good we were not impressed. Service for drinks was slow. Never felt special..just another restaurant.
The service was terrible. It is a shame to try and go to a nicer restaurant to celebrate an event and spend so much money to get everything mediocre. The waitress took forever to get us anything, never got us refills, never checked on us. Spend your money somewhere else.
We love this place for lunch. My sisters and I celebrate my birthday here every year and love the friendliness of everyone here.
Overpriced...poor service by disinterested amateurs.
Can't beat the Wednesday steak and lobster tail special for $20 and they have the best hush puppies! You can get a side of hush puppies even if they aren't on the menu that day.
I've loved the food in the past. Today I was thoroughly disappointed. I had a carryout bowl of lobster bisque and it was exceptionally thin and watery and skimpy on the lobster. At 8.00 a bowl I expect so much more. Surprisingly Red Lobster has you all beat. The taste and price surpasses Mitchell's.
Classy restaurant. Good drinks. Ambient atmosphere.
Excellent service and excellent food!!
This is a great seafood restaurant with a wide variety of fresh fish and shellfish entrees. I have never had a bad meal here. Their Shanghai style prep for certain fish dishes is excellent. Their seafood chowder and raw bar selections are also fresh and always prepared and served perfectly. Only dowside at the Livonia location is that the service can be spotty. Have had top notch servers who made the dining experience a real pleasure and unfortunately, some real "duds" who should never have been allowed around customers. All told, a pretty place to eat.
My first time here and i love this place! Good food and service! Thank you Shawn for the Dessert!❤❤❤
I love the fried lobster tails and the salmon is delicious the best ever one of my favorite spots I'll see you guys soon great service very clean atmosphere
Food and service are good, some portions are smaller than expected
The food and service was great however, the kitchen had issues this day was was 35 Minutes behind. The mgr personally came over to speak to everyone and discounted our bill. I've been here a few times before and will continue to go back
Can't beat the fresh catch of the day! Had swordfish grilled and trout pan seared, both outstanding! And Marcus was a gem!
If you support breamteam you will support this restaurant. Back in the good ol' days in Kazakhstan the fish tasted natural like a cup of the finest boar nostril. We took a nice lick of our cod and BAM. Our taste buds sang like angels. We did not know what happened until we woke up later and we were in front of the virgin mary as she shot fish into our mouths in some sort of hallucinogenic dream of cod and tuna. This restaurant is the greatest thing since the anti-brony brotherhood and you will see when you go.
Very good food!
I have been to come to this restaurant all the time and I think it's amazing. The food is always really good, they have good service, and it has a very happy an opening feel.
Our waitress was excellent.
A little pricey but the food was superb!
You can't go wrong at this incredible restaurant, fine menu selections great service staff. Nice atmosphere.
Good seafood restaurant with excellent service however we had two large groups near us that disrupted what could have been a more relaxed evening.
Pretty nice restaurant, overall staff was pretty friendly.
Took 20-30 minutes to get our first drinks. We ended up getting appetizers before drinks because they didn’t have any cups washed. We never received refills because the waitress was nowhere to be found (even had to ask two other waiters) 3 out of the 4 entree dishes on our table were wrong or under cooked. The crab cake appetizer comes with ONE crab cake for $15. Staff was not apologetic just offered one free dessert at first until we told him twice to remove the meals we never even got to eat. The vegetable medley appetizer with green beans, carrots and zucchini was completely raw and not steamed. Was still charged $105 for two appetizers (including the ONE crab cake) and one meal that was not right but had a toddler with us that was hungry. Being busy is fine and understandable on father’s day but no excuse for the other mistakes. Will not be back.
Awesome drinks and friendly bar staff
Not a good experience this time around. My family and I made reservations three days in advance. We arrived 20 minutes early and had to wait almost an hour. Finally when we were escorted to our table. The table was big enough to fit 8 people for a family of 4. We asked to moved to a smaller table and was told that those table are reserved. What is the point of making a reservation?
The food here is great and coming during happy hour is the best decision you can make for dinner! However, the back is smelly, really fishy all the time. Reminds me of something you'd smell in the strip district at wholey's. It's aweful. If you stay in the bar area you'll love it. So don't make any plans to have big family dinners there unless you manage to sit in front of the bar or like the smell of fish.
Great Soup and seafood.
Food was good but way over priced.bread wasn't done.
Good food, and surprisingly has vegetarian options. For the quantity you get though, it's a bit pricey, Imo
Excellent! Food was perfect! It is so easy to ruin fish, no worries about that here. My father ordered 1/2 dozen raw oysters add said they were the best oysters he'd ever had, add he's had his share! The seared tuna app was awesome as well!
Delicious food great service and reasonably priced entrees.
Morgan is the best
Great options for fresh fish
Awesome.
One of the best restaurants I've eaten in in 2019 . I had Shanghai shrimp salmon and scallops. Best sea food I've had in a long time. Delicious. The service was quick and friendly. Cant wait to go back
Had oysters here that were awesome. Great fish, fast friendly service. Full bar. I have been here often
Good food, nice patio area, portions of fish can be inconsistent.
Service was very good. Bill of 158.00 for food and drinks for 3 people was reasonable for the quality and quantity of food received. Clean and well maintained. I wouldn't bring children.
great food. attentive friendly staff. a little slow to get the entrees but with a party of 18 not entirely surprising.
The salmon was amazing. Jerk wahoo, seasoned to perfection was enough to come bqck for. Service was great.
Knowledgeable staff helped make a great dining experience
I love it good food
Food was great. Nice touch of them printing "Happy Birthday" with my mom's name on her menu. Was a little disappointed that they took their toppings off of their catch of the day. The server was able to add a topping to my fish anyway.
Always excellent food and service; reservation highly recommended and bonus points for working with Open Table.
So dissappointed! We used to love Mitchell's Fish Market but had not been there in a while. It was easy to get in at prime time which should have been a clue. For a seafood place, you don't expect the shrimp to be over cooked and the crab to be served without a fork. The service was sub-par....we sat there for at least 10 minutes with empty soup bowls in front of us (although I will say the lobster bisque was fantastic!) Our server never asked us if we wanted a second drink. And when we mentioned the shrimp being overcooked, he shrugged his shoulders and mumbled he would let the chef know. No manager ever came around to see how our meal was.
Love it,great food and drinks, you will have a good time there.
The dessert and coffee menu alone is worth the trip.
King crab legs were excellent I liked the idea of them giving a hot towel and lemon juice to wash your hands after eating messy crab
Always delicious, lovely inside or on the patio. And the best Key Lime Pie!
Great food seasoned and cooked just right
Great bbq shrimp appetizer
Fantastic meal. The steak was delicious, and the service was exemplary. Our server, Mikaya, took every special request in stride, and helped to turn a great meal into a perfect evening.
Service was great, food was well prepared, a little pricier than I expected.
We were here for a wedding rehearsal dinner. The salmon was delicious and the shark fin pie was decadent!!
Great experience , Nice food, professional staffs, Positive Atmosphere.
A must visit for great seafood. Wife and I came here for our date night. Starting off, we had Crab Spinach and Artichoke Dip... talk about mouthwatering! My wife had the fish and chips and I had the crab stuffed flounder. While most places have a "fish and chips" dish, my wife said this was pretty delicious and had to finish it even though she was stuffed! She even liked the tartar sauce because it had some full in it. The crab stuffed flounder though, that was pretty close to being the best flounder I've ever had. The fish was cooked perfectly, was juicy and flakey with just enough firmness to keep it from falling apart. The crab was also very fresh and tastey as if I'd caught it myself. I got green beans with my dish and they were crunchy and fresh as well with some juices coming out as I bit I to it. And definitely get the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee... Amazing!
Totally awesome. The food was awesome, service was great!
Went there for lunch and it was really good. Excellent menu selection. Really attentive service.
Great good
Superb blackened salmon, wonderful service, and the receptionist helped my wife out to the car and stowed her walker for me. Tops for everything.
Go to for fish. Amazing carrot cake.
Great atmosphere and food to match Love everything we have eaten here over the years. Daily fresh fish and love the clam chowder and scallops. A bit pricey but you are paying for quality. A great date place
It's been a couple years since our last visit to this location and I was disappointed. It seems they went from fine dining to a an applebees atmosphere. Service was impersonal (even had to ask for water refill), the halibut was bland and asparagus was cold. Poor quality for the price.
Pretty overpriced for the quality.
Fantastic food and friendly staff. Cheaper than you'd expect it to cost, and a very generous happy hour.
I've had dinner here several times in the past few years but was lazy to give a review. I'm leaving one now because they deserve it. Their food is always amazing and their staff is beyond excellent. I've recommended them several times and tonight brought a new friend and she said it was the best dinner she's ever had. So of course that made me feel good but the thanks has to go go to Mitchell's!
The waiter was not a good waiter at all she barely came to check on us throughout the meal.
Very good again please!!!
From the sea bass to fish n chips, everything was great! The setting is comfortable and inviting. The service was flawless. Great meal for six of us!
Nace place. Needs updated.
Was over priced for the food quality and service
Love their happy hour. Lunch was great today and very accommodating for dairy allergy.
Nothing really bad about the place but not really worth it. The restaurant itself is very plain with no atmosphere. Very loud, the waiter kept struggling to hear me and I'm not a quiet man. Prices were way to high, I had Chicken Parm which was a $20 microwaved piece of compressed chicken parts and a couple spoonfuls of re-heated butter noodles. Shrimp and crab cakes were nothing special as well. Portions weren't fantastic either, meals come with only an entree and sides and $5-9. Wait staff wasn't rude or bad but didn't help the experience. Overall opinion is a very overpriced Applebee's, noting worth the trip or what they charge for what you get.
Was there just this past Sunday, service was Terrible, waitress inquired about our food after we were 3/4 done, NEVER once asked about refills. I had the shrimp scampi, spent Monday and Tuesday with food poison. WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN!
Great food, definitely worth the trip.
I had my 50th birthday party there. They did a great job of accommodating an ever increasing dinner table. Great food and customer service !!
Good food, nice atmosphere. Wait staff was attentive early, but it tapered off. Still a good experience.
The food was just okay for the price. The wait staff was pushy and impatient. Not going back any time soon.
My waitress is the only reason I didn't give it 1 star. The wait for our food was way too long. When I went to box my leftover food, there was a rubber band in my veggies (I thought it was a noodle). Mistakes happen, but the manager went on to tell me, for 5 minutes, how they have no rubber bands in the kitchen and it couldn't have possibly gotten there in the kitchen (implying that I put it there). After I told her I also have no rubber bands, she does not apologize and only took $10 off of bill, which she doesn't bring back. Mistakes happen, but not taking responsibility for mistakes and blaming the customer is UNACCEPTABLE! The waitress, Becky, ROCKED and was friendly, efficient, and tried to make the experience better, because we weren't even in her section. I have no clue why the intended server would not wait on us.
We were one of two tables in the restaurant. The fried food was disgustingly greasy, the hushpuppies were raw, and it was nearly impossible to get a drink refill. Gross and about three times as expensive as it should have been. Will never go back.
Our other favorite date night place.
Had some great mussels
Literally just had lunch here with my 7 year old son. Several tables came in at the same time and the hostess was doing a wonderful job. We waited a moment, but working in a restaurant myself I could see that it would just be a moment. She really was great, as was our server, Chris. Both tentative and kind in a chaotic couple of moments. I had the crab cakes Benedict from the brunch menu. The eggs were slightly over done for my taste but it was still quite good. My son ordered the kids pasta with shrimp. I didn’t know there was a kids menu special until Chris mentioned it so that was a nice surprise. We will definitely be back every time we’re in town!
For and inland seafood restaurant, I have to say I'm impressed. The food is excellent, service is friendly and our reservation was honored on time. The wine selection is quite impressive, and they have quite a few bottle and draft ales to choose from. The food presentation is excellent. Everything was perfect. Menu prices are a wee bit steep for some of the items, but I'd pay it all over again. Highly, highly, recommended. This is the Pappadeaux of the North!
Way over priced for the amount you get. The waitress didn’t bring all of our change back to the table, then said hold on one moment, I’ll go get it. Very very disappointed with our dinner here!!! We will not come back to this establishment. Very disappointing
Environment is great for dates, family and kids. Classy and fun. Waitress was amazing and knew the menu. GLUTEN FREE MENU, but they do tell you grilled items are cross contaminated if you are celiac's. Charbroiled oysters were so amazing! Lobster bisque was very yummy. Had their cedar plank salmon and blackened whitefish, fresh vegetables and mash potatoes seasoned great! Great food, great service. Will definitely go back!
Food was great but staff was either under trained or too many tables waited too long for too many things
If I could give 0 stars I would. The food is the only thing worthy of one star. Even then it’s poorly put together for a higher end restaurant. The server did her best and I won’t knock her because she can’t help the restaurant. When I asked to speak to the manager she kept having to come back with a different excuse of why the manager wouldn’t come speak with us. Each time you could see the stress in her face of having to tell us that. WHERES THE MANAGERS?! For a corporate owned restaurant, it’s a big joke. I’ve had better experiences at Denny’s in the middle of nowhere. This is in Carmel, Indiana! How this establishment is still in business is beyond me. Will never go back and telling all my friends the same.
Go get your bike or rent one and ride the trail to Mitchells. They offer water for anyone on the trail. They've got bike racks and an outdoor patio facing your bike and the river. It is a cozy place with great food and waitstaff. Ive been here many times. What a great date for active couples. Bike riding on the beautiful trail, lunch here and maybe a cocktail. So much fun!
The waitress was really great!!!!!! The food was okay, way over priced. I had shrimp, fries & coleslaw was 20.00, this isn't including another side or a drink. I should have went with my husbands pick a steak house.
We had such a great experience here! The fish was just absolutely amazing and was freshly cut. And the Shrimp Scampi, Shrimp and Crab Linguine, and the Shanghai shrimp were all phenomenal! Mitchell’s Fish Market is definitely on my list for next time!!!
Pricey, but well worth it.
Good food, people & service!
Our dinner and drinks were fantastic! Robert was so fun, attentive and friendly! Highly recommend him and the restaurant
The Fish was delicious but very pricey in my estimation , one of the more expensive dinners I had while in Pittsburgh
It was a great place until Eugene got fired for missing a day because he was robbed
Great staff and very good food
Delicious food. Sharkfin pie is so good. But bring friends to help you eat it!
Mitchell's is always good. It makes me happy that I can go to a Mitchell anywhere and receive the same type of service. We live in Edgewater New Jersey and usually go to that location weekly it's nice to know that when we travel we received the same type of consistency. We've tried just about everything on the menu and I have several favorites. I'm a salmon girl so the blackened salmon is the best. you should definitely try this restaurant if you haven't.
Always good. Very consistent. Nice preparations. Appetizers are very good. Sides excellent. Warm sourdough bread. Split entrees without fuss and perfectly. I'd give it 5 stars but I unfairly compare to Landry's Paddlefish and Oceanaire.
Average chain restaurant. Nothing bad - nothing great - just dinner and slightly more expensive than others.
The oysters were amazing!!
Good food and service.
To expensive for the quality and quantity of the food. Would not go back again. The restraunt was about 25 percent capacity. The atmosphere was like the lobster house restraunt but less crowded.
Came in for lunch and had the crab and shrimp linguine, it was fantastic. Service was great. Although it was not busy they paid enough attention, not too much to where I couldn’t enjoy my meal.
The first experience was great. We loved the food so much we came back another time on Thursday night (1/28/16) around seven or so. However this time we sat at the bar and had Kathleen, the bartender served us. She was horrible and racist. We sat at the bar and our water weren't filled the whole entire time we were there while everyone else at the bar have theirs filled. Luckily we ordered alcohols. She came and asked us if we need anything else but STILL did not care to fill our empty glasses of water. She obviously saw empty glasses. Unfortunately because of this kind of service, we don't want to come back. And I'm not sure if I want to reccomend it to my friends either.
Good food and service.
First time there tonight and I will never go back! Let's start by saying the service staff was fabulous but the kitchen was awful! I started with ordering the ahi tuna bowl. What came out of the kitchen was gross. I wish I had thought to take a picture before the waitress took it away. The tuna was not cleaned properly, especially for a raw dish. The chunks of tuna were hanging together by the fat and sinew and the meat was grey! I sent it back and ordered the grilled mahi mahi. I was skeptical when it arrived because it didn't look like it had been cooked thru but it felt warm in the center so I ate it. Huge mistake. I have been sick as a dog since I arrived back home from what I'm sure is food poisoning. I will be calling for a food inspection. Oh, and let me address how the manager was so kind to remove the ahi dish from my bill. Like you tried to serve me cat food scraps and thought I was going to pay for it? Never Ever Again!
Great service and Shark Fin dessert, but the crab cakes we just ok
Party of 7 for dinner. Food was OK but not great. The place was practically empty and did not have a good buzz or vibe. Seating hostess was very serious and had a tired / disinterested look. Waiter was OK but definitely needs more training. Drinks service was very late citing a backup at the bar which was strange cos there was not much crowd in the bar. We had Oysters on half shell and Calamari for the table. I had lobster bisque, Chilean Sea Bass and Crembrule. For the price point, the portion size was small but more concerning, the fish was flaky, had no flavor and seemed to be still frozen. The much touted carrot cake was disappointing. Definitely not going back.
Mitchell's Fish Market is a very nice place if you like fish...but they do have other things, like chicken, steak, and pasta. They have good cocktails, beer, and wine. Now that the Boston Store is closed, parking is very easy too!
Terrible negative 1star wont ever go back
The service was great. First, I had the house Salad and that tasted a little funny. I had the Broiled Cod w/Mashed Potatoes and Vegetables. The food tasted fine. But the next day and into Sunday I was vomiting, had stomach pain and headache, and I could not keep nothing down not even water. Yeah, I will not be a returning customer!
Always excellent. One of my all time favorites. Great happy hour.
Really liked happy hour there.
We had a lovely Thanksgiving meal there! Service was excellent, the restaurant was very comfortable (temp, lighting, noise, traffic all pleasant for eating leisurely and talking), and the food was good. Servings were EXTREMELY generous! Only 1 person in our party cleaned his plate. Everyone else had enough food to take home and have 1-2 more meals! In addition to a traditional Thanksgiving menu, they also provided limited offerings from their regular menu. It was really nice to have add'l options. I ordered the Maryland crabcakes. They could hv had a little less filler in them, but they were still quite tasty. The remoulade provided had a nice tang to it, and the roasted corn kernels were crispy. The mashed potatoes looked too mushy, but they were actually quite good. Desserts were delicious! We haven't been to Mitchell's in a number of years, for various reasons, but we were glad we were there tonight. It made for a very nice, no fuss holiday!!
The atmosphere inside of Mitchell's Fish Market is very warm and inviting. The food was beyond amazing. I ordered the Perfect Pair. And, it truly was perfect. My husband ordered the Filet Mignon. And, he said it was delicious. And, he can be a bit picky about how his steak is cooked, especially when we eat in a seafood restaurant. So, that's a really big compliment. And, the wait staff was very helpful and accommodating. There was only one downside- the prices. They're a bit higher than I think they should be.
Good seafoos tacos.
Good food, nice atmosphere and excellent service.
Excellent food and great atmosphere. A little high in price for the quantity served, however offset by the service!
Had the Caribbean Mahi Mahi and it was really good. It had a 56 ingredient jerk sauce made in house that really elevated the dish!! We also had really great service.
Amazing seafood! Great date night spot, super accessible for Carmel folks. Live lobster display and private rooms enhance experience.
Horrible place. I had cod for lunch and was poorly cooked and had no flavor and appeared old. Nothing fresh about them
Very disappointed...appetizers very below average,drinks... satisfactory, (because server said she made them) apparrntly no bartender, on vacation or something. Main course, extremely disappointed. lobster tail (2 bites) cold, hard, small, dry...only 3 skimpy asparagus shoots, very old, dry and stringy. only 2 shrimp bacon bbq, shrimp, hard, no taste, bacon, chewy, no taste, bbq flavor, fake, generic. bbq sauce, ketchup with sugar. I hate that we had this experience, it was a very special anniversary for us. so disappointed
Ambience is nice, food is just ok
Food is Ok, service was strange to say the least. Half way through our salads, our waiter insisted on serving our entrees "or they would be served cold". Bush League does not cover that comment. Very dissatisfied.
Used to be regulars but it's been a while since we were here. Shanghai sampler had curiously dry shrimp. The sauce saved it. Service was ok.
It is a great place for seafood for lunch and always fresh when I come .love the place. Good times to come is on Monday.
1st visit with my friend. My food was pretty good, my friend wasn't really impressed with her lunch. We sat down to lunch around 145pm. There were maybe 3 couples sitting outside and 3 tables inside with customers, so it definitely was NOT busy, but it took close to 15 minutes before the waiter came for our drink orders. We got our food and after that, the waiter never came back to ask about our lunch or to offer to bring us more drinks. For what it cost for lunch, you would and should expect better service. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they were short staffed or something, but frankly, there are too many great restaurants in Louisville for a repeat visit here.
Use to eat here often and then they started moving managers out a lot and getting new ones....... their cook of 16 years left and they went downhill after that! We never go there anymore.
Awesome lobster chowder...
Great selection of fresh fish and unique cocktails. Prices are fair
Great place to eat the only place I would ever eat at
Has very good fish and excellent staff
Best waitress in Pittsburgh
Love the diverse selection. Great service.
Great service, Savannah and Ashley were very quick and good. We had the fish sandwich and queso at the bar with a margarita and a bulleit manhattan , both were great. Service was exceptional.
This place is three things. Fish market, bar, and restaurant. Lots of dark wood, and comfortable seating. They managed to balance things so you can feel at home with casual to well dressed. The bar is on the other side of a entrance division and not overbearing, and they made the fish counter elegant?! And not smelly. The menu is well balanced and the dishes are done with a tasty and clever combination of ingredients. In short bring whomever, and come for the food. I really liked their food! The prices were mid-to slightly elevated. The staff was prompt, friendly and professional.
MY ADVICE IS TO FIND ANOTHER RESTAURANT! THE CRAB LEGS CAME COLD AS HELL! THE STEAK WAS NOT DONE! THE POTATOES WERENT REAL, THE DRINKS WERE WARM! FIND ANOTHER ONE!
Food was delicious and loved sitting outside. However...service could have been more prompt considering it was extremely slow. My dad waited forever just to get his water filled. The waiter/waitress (bc I do not feel it is necessary to call someone out) stopped by 3 different times and still nothing. Im only writing this because it might be necessary to have a talk with the whole staff about what it means to have prompt service and not have customers waiting on something as simple as a water refill. I am not complaining or mad. Just an observation and could use some improvement.
Slow service and high prices on food and drinks.
If you are looking for seafood and a nice atmosphere Mitchell's is great! Crab cake is delicious and Oysters are fresh.
Atmosphere is comfortable and almost casual. We arrived shortly after opening hours and were seated immediately. The lunch menue was handed to us and consisted of mostly seafood. We requested the dinner menue instead, which has a better selection. The server was very kind and prompt! The meal was very good and filling. I ordered the $33 Ribye served with amazing asparagus that was fresh with potatoes. The first steak brought to me was a bit over cooked, the server immediately responded by taking it back. The manager than brought out a fresh Ribye and waited on my approval after I checked it. The steak was AMAZING! Seared, juicy and well seasoned just as a steak should be. The bill arrived and noticed the steak was not charged to me for the mistake. I give 5 stars for the food, service and price. The atmosphere is pleasant, but just a bit bright for my taste. Well worth the costs versus going to other big food chain steakhouses from down-under that has become one horrible experience too many. My family of four enjoyed there meals and deserts. We will definately be back through Carmel again to dine at Mitchell's!
Very good service. Wife's food was warm, but not hot.
Great service, delicious food!
Nice selection of fish dishes and done well. Good list of by the glass wines available.
Service was wonderful and the food was amazing. They had a swordfish dish as the special and I loved it. We are definitely going to be repeat customers.
Always great food. The grilled oysters are absolutely delicious
I want to say at first I was really excited to take my Daughter there for her 20th Birthday dinner. Kelly and I spoke on the phone and she told me they would print my Daughter's name on the menu and they would have carrot cake and candles for her. The menu was awesome my Daughter loved that touch. However their drink menu is old so when we ordered what was on the menu our waitress came back and informed us that the menu is an old drink menu and our drink selection weren't available, not a problem we just picked something else. The first picture shows my dinner Bourbon salmon it was $27.50. I do not believe it was worth that price tag and it wasn't plated as I would expect for that price. The taste was fine nothing special and the root veggies were really good. The salmon on the plank was in the same price range it did look prettier on the plate but still not worth the price tag. The sides were $8+ so not bad as you can share them with the table. We ended getting a new waitress some time before we ordered she was never informed it was my Daughter's Birthday so as we neared the end I was excited to see the cake with candles and there was nothing. I thought it was taking so long to get our check because she was getting the cake for my Daughter, nope it was just taking forever to get our check I guess. I didn't want to draw attention to the fact the cake never happened in front of my Daughter but I was disappointed as I talked to Kelly on the phone earlier that day and she assured me it would be taken care of.
A visit here is never disappointing!
Great service! The food was ok... Wasn't worth the high prices. The gumbo's roux tasted burnt. The steak and potatoes was good! We also ordered asparagus, caesar salad, and shrimp & chips that were bland. Other than that the waitresses were super friendly & the food came out fast.
I am bias because i hold weekly car cruises here. But the food is delicious and my favorite is the crab cakes. Great for a quiet meal or to entertain a group.
Had a private party and the setting was beautiful. They put us is a back room that comfortably sat about 30. Temperatures were the issue all night. The room became uncomfortably warm with little ventilation. Because it was a large group, the restaurant has a policy of trying to bring all the food out together. While great in theory, this led to anything that wasn't specifically seafood to be lukewarm at best. It still tasted good, just wasn't the correct temperature. Desert was delicious. I had a Mini Sharkfin Pie.
Was all around great!
I had the Big Fish Sandwich for lunch and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked, hot when it got the table, and the tartar was excellent. The coleslaw was also outstanding and I have a difficult time finding good slaw. I ate at the bar and Penny provided great service and was a pleasure to chat with.
Service was super slow and it wasnt even busy. Food and drinks were rationed out to us over a span of 2.5 hours. And then it was cold.
This is my favorite restaurant to celebrate birthdays anniversaries or just to go for lunch or dinner. The staff is always super friendly and helpful and the food is always amazing!
Wonderful variety of fresh seafood offerings.it was nice to have so many choices for how the fish was prepared-fried, grilled, blackened, Caribbean style, cedar plank or more. Salads, fresh veggies, chicken, fish, pasta, oysters-these were just a few of the choices and the wine list was quite extensive. Be prepared to spend money, if you are able, do lunch instead of dinner (same great tastes, just smaller portions & lower pricing). If you can't make it to the coast for the best seafood, give Mitchell's a try.
My family and I go here probably once a month and this is one of my parents' favorite places to go to. The food is always really good and the wait staff is always very attentive. Would definitely recommend it!
Moving to Pittsburgh and looking for a good non franchise place to dine. Unfortunately when I arrived I was not allowed as if the host appeared to look down on my party. She said only in the lobby away from the dining room. If I wait it would be at least 45 minutes or more. Funny how the dining room was half full. I returned because of a feeling and still not full. I hate to say but when an established acts bourgeois this will lead to permanent closed doors.
First visit in a while, enjoyed the food and the ambiance.
Delicious food, fantastic service. Went for a fancy date night with the girlfriend and after the first bite of crabcake we decided we're going to return every other month for fancy date night. I definitely recommend.
Swordfish excellent. Sticky rice, excellent. Bread great but seems like margarine/butter thing. Service, very good. Why 4 stars? ---> Terrible music being played each time we've went. Irritating and loud. Doesn't fit the atmosphere.
Pretty good fish and a fair variety. Cozy setting....family atmosphere. And you can purchase fish to take home and cook yourself.
Delicious seafood
Love the food and service
If you like paying $50 for McDonald’s size fish and this is the place for you
Overpriced, but great food!
Best delicious lobster bisque soup we ever had.
If I could give them a 0 stars, i would. Worst experience ever at a 4 or 5 star restaurant. I complained about the presentation and quantity of my food and manager showed little concern. The cook came out and offered to remake meals. The remake of meals came out and my lobster tail was undercooked. Beyond livid at that point. Never going back.
Good location and environment. Food is just OK
Immaculate service; prompt, eubilent, informed, skilled wait staff. Food is fresh fish, priced accordingly, over prepared, sometimes overbearing, but never poorly done. Perfect fish for fish haters, wonderful steaks as well. High end cocktails, mixers, and craft beers.
This place was a little pricey and was understaffed for Valentine's Day. We sat in the bar and John was a delight. He was swamped because his other bartender was late. But he kept a smile on his face and made sure we had everything we needed. Seafood was excellent. Thumbs up!
Eat lobster Enjoy ur family
Food was good. Was at a business dinner and felt bad for the guy that had to wait on all of us. Someone had to ask other staff to help him
Excellent food, service and atmosphere
Great food awesome service
This was a nice surprise. We came when they had live music 'Billy Schneider Acoustic' my kids loved it! It was a nice place to bring them, however I don't think I would have had such an easy time with them if it hadn't been for the live music. The waitstaff was great and very friendly. The food was just okay which didn't match the price. The portion size was good. The atmosphere/dress was classy casual. Overall we enjoyed ourselves.
For this to be such a "high scale" restaurant the food was very mediocre. My husband and I felt cheated paying so much money for food that was poorly put together. The customer service was a bit messy due to the fact a young server named Lauren didn't like the tip she was given. Please do better! Will never return to this establishment.
More than seafood... Good lunch options.
Great happy hour, try the spicy shrimp or the fish sandwich.
Best dining experience I've had in years. Very friendly staff, some unique drinks at the bar, high quality food and a great atmosphere.
Jumbo shrimp appetizer, clam chowder, and goat cheese and spinach salad were great. However the main entrees were severely lacking. My son's fish steak was raw in the middle, my husband's fillet was rare (he requested well done), the crab cakes were lacking in flavor, and the steamed green beans were so crunchy that they were probably flash steamed. I understand that it was a busy night but for 5 meals that cost over $220 it was a huge disappointment after the starters were so good. Sorry, but next time my money and I are going to the grocery store and I will "cook" my expensive food myself for two weeks worth of meals at this price.
Wasnt really busy...service was good. Food was fairly good but $75 for lunch for 2 people with no alcohol is expensive for a restaurant attached to a mall.
Had the cof stuffed with lobster and shrimp Excelent great meal
If you want fresh and perfectly prepared seafood this is the place.
Good food & service
Sea scallops were cooked perfectly.
Don’t waste your time or money. Terrible all around. Next time—date night will be at McDoanlds. Prefer them over this place
My husband and I took a couple of our friends who were visiting from out of town for dinner. The service was excellent and the wait staff very nice. Two of us ordered the king crab legs and while they were good, they were not split and the tools given to us to crack and eat them were not adequate. A nutcracker type implement and a small fork was all that was provided. The crab shells were so pliable they were almost rubbery and would not crack easily. The fork was too large to get into the smaller legs. I asked the waitress for a long metal skewer and or scissors and after checking with the kitchen staff she told us none were available. I would think a restaurant specializing in seafood would not make this mistake. If you're going to offer king crab at $30 a meal, please at least split them in the kitchen and or provide proper cutlery.
Don't go during week (Mon-Thur)! Big difference in freshness and quality of food and preparation. Waitstaff is always wonderful.
The atmosphere was good and the customer service was great. The food wasn't as good as I thought it would be. The spinash dip wasn't as creamy as I would have like. The shrimp and crab linguine wasn't great either. Honestly the best thing I ate was the desserts.
Service was the main issue. I think they were overwhelmed with a Christmas bigtop and we were sitting in the bar, but it was extremely slow. My fish tacos were good but the whole experience didnt live up to my expectations.
Reliably good meals - we like the choices of their prix fixe - the house salad with pine nuts was refreshing. I want to research ecologically better choices though, because fish is fraught with slavery, overfishing, and pollution
Tried to post my experience but I guess it was too long. So long story short. Ordered a whole steamed lobster, was told they only had one left. Waitress served a lobster that was torn apart. Yes torn in pieces, not cracked, individual smashed pieces. Questioned the waitress she tells me that's how Mitchell serves lobster and offers to get me something else but I refused because my group of 6 had already been waiting some time to be served. Manager doesn't appear till I'm 3/4 done with my meal to inquire about my dissatisfaction. I've been eating at Mitchells since they've opened and I've been eating lobster for much longer than that. Bye bye Mitchell's, hope it was worth serving me garbage. And I will make sure everyone I know will hear about my experience.
The food was kinda mediocre. Dry fish. It wasn't a busy night, right after the New Year. It felt like we were eating leftovers from the wild night previously. Service was good.
Great food and a great atmosphere, service was great.
Great food and atmosphere, server was not on his game to be sure.
We don't eat here often, but when we do the food & service is always fantastic. Definitely recommend having dinner here.
We went to Mitchell's Fish Market located in Homestead at the Waterfront for a Sunday evening birthday dinner. There was a little more than moderate amount of diners that day, however the staffing was not adequate enough to keep up with the needs of the diners. We sat and waited for nearly everything, and the waitress when she could be found kept apologizing. We had to ask several times for things before they were brought to the table. We had three different people bring us our food. It was a long wait for the food to arrive. In these types of cases though I don't blame the wait staff as much as I do the management. The waitress kept saying that people called off nobody wants to work etc etc, This is my opinion. I feel the management should have stepped in helped to bring out the food or possibly even wait on the tables to give their staff some help. So for that I gave four stars. All other things considered the food was excellent.. I would give it five stars. So I suppose waiting for it as long as we did was worth it. It really was delicious. I can always gauge how good the chef is in the kitchen when you order asparagus and it comes out cooked to perfection and this was, so kudos to the chef. This was my first time at Mitchell's Fish Market. The restaurant in of itself is very nice. The food was excellent. I just really wish they would get their staffing issues in order.
Mitchell’s Fish Market is one of my places to enjoy lunch. I have to admit that I usually go at times to miss the lunch rush. I find it more enjoyable that way. I am a creature of habit and usually enjoy their salmon. Sometimes eating inside and on pretty, warm days, enjoying their patio.
Shrimp for 2 out of this world! If you don't try any thing else must try cheesecake. Great fish on Fri. Eat in or take home. I take home on Fri. Enough for Sat.
Very helpful and attentive staff.. delicious food.
Excellent dinners and appetizers. Wonderful servers who are knowledgeable of the menu items.
Nice atmosphere, service & food
Delicious food and excellent service
Fast service and excellent fish dishes
Real expense. Must have reservations. Wait staff at the bar took over 10 minutes to even acknowledge us.
Really good food. Great service.
Go to for fish. Amazing carrot cake.
Great atmosphere and food to match Love everything we have eaten here over the years. Daily fresh fish and love the clam chowder and scallops. A bit pricey but you are paying for quality. A great date place
Celiac approved! Mitchell's Fish Market offers a lovely gluten free menu with something for everyone. I ordered an appetizer of two oysters, a la carte, which were very fresh and delicious, no crackers. I couldn't resist the seafood Cobb salad, served with shrimp and crab, no wontons. The portions were extremely generous, and the price was very fair, considering the quality. I also ordered the hot green tea, which was nicely presented. Parking was effortless, and the wait staff was a joy. I will definitely return.
It's been a couple years since our last visit to this location and I was disappointed. It seems they went from fine dining to a an applebees atmosphere. Service was impersonal (even had to ask for water refill), the halibut was bland and asparagus was cold. Poor quality for the price.
Great food. Have the clam chowder...best I have ever had. Very attentive wait staff. But portions are small. So don't expect leftovers.
Pretty overpriced for the quality.
Delicious food and service
I've had dinner here several times in the past few years but was lazy to give a review. I'm leaving one now because they deserve it. Their food is always amazing and their staff is beyond excellent. I've recommended them several times and tonight brought a new friend and she said it was the best dinner she's ever had. So of course that made me feel good but the thanks has to go go to Mitchell's!
We have gone here a few times. This time it was restaurant week. Got a really good paella with a salad and dessert for a fair price. The wait staff is friendly and so are the bartenders! We have never had a bad meal here.
Best seafood restaurant in West Chester Ohio. Highly recommend the calamari appetizer
Great food and great service. It's all about quality, from the seafood to the cocktails. Free dessert on your birthday, creme brulee for mine was excellent
Very good food and service
Took my boyfriend here for his birthday. The service was excellent. Nice atmosphere . Clean bathrooms. The food was above and beyond delicious! We will be back!!
Was over priced for the food quality and service
Delicious AND great service
Love their happy hour. Lunch was great today and very accommodating for dairy allergy.
Very good. Good service
THIS IS QUICKLY BECOMING MY GO-TO PLEASURE! The food is delightful, with a wide variety of offerings ranging from sandwiches to signature seafood. A server suggested that I order pan-seared scallops (pan searing seals in moisture) and Tuscan vegetables, and it could not be a better combination. The "Sharkfin" pie is a sumptuous concoction reminiscent of a Captain Crunch ice cream bar. The best part? THE SERVERS! They stand out among all of the restaurants I frequent. They make it a point to get to know me and treat me like family. Applause, applause, for Mitchell's Fish Market!
Tina was a fantastic server and the food was delicious. The spicy shrimp rivals Bonefish's bang bang shrimp with a lighter sauce. The jambalaya was decent, but needs a bit more flavor and/or spice. The chicken nachos were very satisfying, and the drinks were perfect. Overall, had a pretty great experience and will be returning. CHEERS!
Great food, definitely worth the trip.
Good food and drinks, desert was awesome. Not overly spectacular, but definitely gets the job done.
Good sea food but the menu could be a bit more adventurous. They pay it pretty safe.
I have no problem shelling out $200 for a great meal but something bothers me about a generic meal with a $100 price tag. Should have just gone to Applebee’s
Good food, nice atmosphere. Wait staff was attentive early, but it tapered off. Still a good experience.
Excellent seafood choices
Excellent
Mango-Jito was fantastic. Mojito was gross - there was no sugar in it. Old fashioned was more tasteless than usual. Most disappointing thing was the shrimp cocktail. 5 shrimp for $14? That's $2.80 each. If they were twice the size... maybe. So disappointed. The only redeeming quality of this place was the service. Service: 5 stars. Menu: 2 stars.
Great service, nice atmosphere.
Way over priced for the amount you get. The waitress didn’t bring all of our change back to the table, then said hold on one moment, I’ll go get it. Very very disappointed with our dinner here!!! We will not come back to this establishment. Very disappointing
My favorite seafood restaurant in Wayne county. The menu is extensive, though it comes up a bit short in options for vegetarians and those who can't consume shellfish. The food is excellent, the waits for seating are usually short, and the prices are quite agreeable.
Food was alright. I could made my food better.
Mark the manager served us a beautiful meal. Restaurant is top notch
Food was great but staff was either under trained or too many tables waited too long for too many things
Expensive place to eat, but worth it. Excellent food and service.
LOUD, NOISY, cattle feeding. Get them in - get them out. Waitress was great! Food was ok.
Excellent service at the bar. Great happy hour specials, but slightly older than expected crowd.
So beautiful i made reservations for my anniversary and we were floored. They accomadated the little private corner we had everyone congratulated our anniversary and they even had it on the dinner menu! The food and dinner service was absolutely FANTASTIC. We loved our experience so much and had a wonderful anniversary Thank you to Robert our server and everyone from the front desk to the cooks and managers!
Great service...good food
The waitress was really great!!!!!! The food was okay, way over priced. I had shrimp, fries & coleslaw was 20.00, this isn't including another side or a drink. I should have went with my husbands pick a steak house.
The shrimp and lobster roll was scrumptious.
Great food (best wedge salad) and even better service! Terri at the bar is always amazing and her personality and service keeps us coming back!
Overpriced for what you get, service was sub-par in terms of frquency of checking at the table, but the server was really nice, so mad eit hard not to tip well
Decent food. Restaurant was busy and service was very slow. Lots of different fresh fish which is a plus.
Good food and service. Best fish and chips in the area.
Good was good, kitchen was a little slow
Very nice fare and good service
Excellent food and service! Everything was super delicious. Our server, Miss Gretchen was very nice, took the time to answer all of our questions and was very knowledgeable about the menu. Thank you Mitchell’s, and Gretchen, for a wonderful dining experience. Will definitely be returning.
Jumbalaya and Seafood Gumbo is amazing!! I was highly disappointed with the fried shrimp and chips. The shrimp was so saturated in grease and soggy instead of how its described on the menu as light and flash fried. The manager was very pleasant and understanding. I will return.
The oysters were amazing!!
Always a wonderful dinner! The staff is very good as well!
Good food and service.
We came here for lunch again and did join the Landry’s Select Club. This time we preferred the fish and chips for lunch. The fish is prepared perfectly. They also bring a basket of fresh bread. We are also getting a gift card to go for our son and daughter-in-law to use at any of the restaurants in Texas.
Mid grade quality food at best..maybe we caught them on a bad night but the crab and lobster stuffed cod special tasted like it could have been 2-3 days old. Better to spend your $$ elsewhere IMO
Asparagus was barely warn, salmon a bit dry. For what we got prices were high. Atmosphere was good though and service wasnt bad.
This place is better than most in the region. But, dining here makes me miss living on the Virginia coast where fresh, delicious well prepared seafood is almost a commodity
Great happy hour and full menu.
The best fish I have had in a long time!
Food was horrible, rest rooms were actually scary..i mean filthy dirty
The atmosphere and staff here are wonderful but the food quality is sub standard when compared to the price. Will try to visit another place the next time I am in town.
Terrible negative 1star wont ever go back
The food was delicious! I ordered a shrimp trio and my fiance had fish and chips. He bragged about how good the tartar sauce was. He even dipped his fries in it. We went on a Saturday night and the food was served very quick. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the butter for the bread tasted a little strange to me. It didn't taste like regular butter.
Always excellent. One of my all time favorites. Great happy hour.
Excellent food. Great service and great wine list. I would recommend!
For the price, the food should be better. The crab cake was good but the accompanying roasted corn was rubbery. My broccoli was cold and not seasoned. The service was good. Overall, the experience wasn’t good enough to return.
Good seafoos tacos.
I made an online reservation (yesterday 10/11/19) for 4pm today (10/12/19) at Mitchell's in Livonia, MI...on Haggerty Road...for my mothers birthday dinner with family and friends. I arrived five minutes early and was told that they could not seat me until at least 4 people in my party was present. I advised her that I was there first and other were on the way. She told me that they had to set up the table for 10 anyway. I made a couple of calls and went to my car to wait until at least 3 other people showed up. When the others showed up they were told that no one had showed up for the reservation and the lady canceled my reservation. My sister called me at the same time. Because of the way my car was parked, I did not see my family members go into the door. When I walked to the front desk there was a different lady. We waited for another 10 to 20 minutes before we were seated and had to keep asking if they were going to get us a table ready. Finally upon being seated, I asked for the manager and explained to him my issue with making the reservation, being told I had to wait, my family being told no one was there for the reservation and the restaurant cancelling my reservation. He said he would check into it and we heard nothing else at all. Mitchell's use to be my favorite restaurant. It is no longer. In fact, I will not be back. Now I understand why they are closing so many location down. This was bad customer service and the front desk staff lied about their screw up! Next time I will go elsewhere to spend 100.00 on a meal and to celebrate a birthday.
I always like eating here.
Great food and excellent service
We come here at least 2 times a month, sometimes more and are always pleased with the service and the food. Mitchell's replaced our date night at Red Lobster because the food is amazing at Mitchell's and Red Lobster's food is good. We prefer amazing over good any day!!
Super yummy! Everything was out of this world! A little pricey but for fresh sea food up here in Michigan that seems to be the norm.
Excellant! Scallops preparred 2 different ways, King Crab worth every penny, and Salmon. Great Seafood. Highly recommend! Happy hour too!
Way too expensive! Bad service and not very good food.
Chilean Sea Bass, Crab Cakes, smashed resakins!!! Everything was just amazing, the service was excellent too. Highly recommend
I really enjoyed the atmosphere, we have say in the patio and also inside by the lobster tank. Both places were very fun for my toddler. The quality of the food is excellent, the fish is so fresh and the menu has so many options. I'm only giving it 4 stars because I feel they don't put enough food in the plate. I always leave hungry and I can't just order more with those prices.
This restaurant has really gone down in service and food quality the last couple of years. Very slow kitchen, ordered the calamari and it was extremely overcooked and nearly burnt. The place was slow, so I expected better service. A total waste of time and money. I shared my experience with a manager, but I definitely can no longer recommend Mitchell's Fish Market!
It was clean and we'll run with decent prices
Christian our waiter and Steve the bartender were excellent. Unfortunately the king crab legs were rubbery (the shell) and the meat was less than expected. The appetizer of barbecue bacon wrapped shrimp was delicious. The manager was more than accomodating. I hope they figure that out. Steve's handmade drinks were awesome. I'm sure that if we ordered something that is less finicky it would have been pretty good. I will stop back again.
Excellent
The service is always great. Our server was awesome with our son. My favorite thing on the menu is the YellowFin Tuna with the veggies, rice and hoisin sauce. (Order it seared on all sides and rare in the middle. Best way of eating it.
新鮮な魚介類が食べられる。
Love the diverse selection. Great service.
Great food. Usually come once a month. Please bring back the Brie appetizer!!!!!!!! Vegetarians like Mitchell's too. The Brie keeps them coming. Aka, our friend!!!! Thank you please. Btw, the bread is also delicious. Perfect crust with a nice soft inside. Drooling
Am I the only one that thinks this place is only so so?
Meh. Bar service was great. Table service was ok at best. Honestly, and this is sad that Mitchell's has slipped this far, but the street tacos at Comerica Park are better. They should head down and try them. The waiter had not been trained in how to address customer issues. Lots of other choices around, so I suggest elsewhere.
If you are looking for seafood and a nice atmosphere Mitchell's is great! Crab cake is delicious and Oysters are fresh.
Great food!
Great service, delicious food!
great experience. staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. Prices were fair given the ambiance and quality. waited about 15 minutes for a table, and our server was able to tell us accommodate my mothers strict diet very well.
Great food in a comfortable atmosphere.
Great caesar salad but bisque was just luke warm. Prices are tad high, service was adequate and in past food quality has been generally good.
Food was good
Awesome meal...delish..
Moderate quality, over priced.
Good private room in back for meetings, excellent clam chowder. Nice place.
The prices in Mitchells used to be good for the price but on my recent visit I did find the prices of things going up. It was like 50 bucks for a steak which was not good as my expectation. But the staff here is so friendly and lovely just love their attitude. I prefer the red lobster but Mitchell's you need to keep your prices moderate atleast .
Myself and my fiance visited the West Chester location for the first time. We had made reservations omn arrival we were greeted friendly and seated promptly. The waitress got our initial drink order. We placed our order. The waitress brought what looked free hot sourfough garlic bread. It tasted like day old bread. Not good at all. I ordered the crab cakes and smashed potatoes. Crab cakes were warm had no flavor at all odered a side of house made Cole slaw it mostly juice. My fiance meal did not good and was warm at best. At this point we ain't what we could of what was over priced not tasting good food. Will we return? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Based on our experience why does this restaurant think they deserve to be in West Chester? Way better places to eat in walking distance of this restaurant.
High class ... great food and service.
Still one of the best fish places in Michigan. Service is always outstanding and the fresh fish options are nice. They are in the higher price range of restaurants so be prepared to pay but being a landlocked midwest state you can get some pretty good fish here
I almost always stop by when I am in town for work. The staff is great as is the food. I enjoy the bar with it's large padded benches and lots of TVs to enjoy the game. Salads are large and lots of bread if you like. The shrimp is always great and I've enjoyed most of the fish dishes. They've recently changed the menu but it still has plenty of good options.
Excellent management and staff but the food was not exceptional. I guess I was expecting more for the price. Again the management and service was great so for that reason I will plan another trip to give this restaurant a second chance.
We love sitting at the bar. Great food, great service.
Worst experience I've had at Mitchell's. Normally good service and food but not tonight. The server informed us the kitchen was slow but the restaurant was busy with two large grous and we were ok - not a big deal waiting a little longer. Over an hour later with no entrees and watching other tables leave without food, we also decided to call it quits. There is a difference between slow and something is wrong in the kitchen. Transparency of the situation would have been appreciated, but the restaurant handled it very poorly. I am in no hurry now to go back.
Seafood fresh and good waiter. Was in the bar area for dinner .
Was surprised that there was no wait when we got there at 9pm to eat before a movie on a Saturday night. The waitress Rachel was very nice and attentive. The food was deliciously seasoned and looked perfect on the plate. The only thing I could say that could have been better was if it were a little hotter. Definitely a great place to eat and enjoy family and/or friends company.
Service was super slow and it wasnt even busy. Food and drinks were rationed out to us over a span of 2.5 hours. And then it was cold.
Great seafood, wonderful atmosphere
I love Mitchell’s. I have been quite a few times and each time I try a new dish. I am never disappointed with the food or service.
Great food.
First visit in a while, enjoyed the food and the ambiance.
Pretty good fish and a fair variety. Cozy setting....family atmosphere. And you can purchase fish to take home and cook yourself.
The food was really good the company even better
My husband accidentally made reservations at the wrong location for mother's day. It would be nice if the people at the front desk were not so snotty and laughing at us due to this error however. Last time we are going there.
Really good food and get service. Our server Adam was awesome!
The sesame crusted ahi tuna was absolutely delightful! The spicy pea puree made it a delightful twist on one of my favorite foods. I would recommend Mitchell's to anyone looking for an enjoyable and delicious dining experience!
First visit was great - service was fantastic and food was great. Second visit was not quite as good (service was good but food taste was not quite to my liking), but still one of the best restaurants around that I have tried. Definitely will be going back.
This place was a little pricey and was understaffed for Valentine's Day. We sat in the bar and John was a delight. He was swamped because his other bartender was late. But he kept a smile on his face and made sure we had everything we needed. Seafood was excellent. Thumbs up!
Excellent service. Excellent cuisine! Great ambiance for special occasions. We needed special food prep and the chef personally came out to talk to us to make sure our dietary needs were satisfied! One of my all time favorite places to dine!
Great food
It was delicious! Our server was great! And our food was perfect. It was a great visit.
Great spinach salad with salmon.
Very delicious food! Tops!
My husband and I went here for dinner and it was fabulous! We went a little late so it was a beautiful intimate setting. Our waiter was the best! Very helpful with helping me choose a meal that went along with my diet. The food was so so good! My husband even requested to speak to the manager before we left to tell him how happy we were with our experience. Hope to visit here again next time we are in Michigan!
Terrible service ... to many errors in my order.... for that price they should service better... 3 stars only beacuse I love seafood...
Love the food. Great staff. I will be back!
The portion of food was small for the the price of the meal. I was also shocked by the way the staff was dress down in blue jean. I guess I was use to the the white shirt and tie image they had created. The wait staff was still very good. Only had a couple of issues with the food. However the manager came over and corrected the problem. Over all Great service!
Had the cof stuffed with lobster and shrimp Excelent great meal
Would've gave a five star ,but our waiter was terrible no personality
If you want fresh and perfectly prepared seafood this is the place.
Place has gone downhill. Our food was literally cold. Probably won't see me back there again.
Always a lovely and delicious experience!
Outstanding service, food and presentation. Chilean sea bass is my favorite. Nice atmosphere and never too noisy.
Don’t waste your time or money. Terrible all around. Next time—date night will be at McDoanlds. Prefer them over this place
The atmosphere was good and the customer service was great. The food wasn't as good as I thought it would be. The spinash dip wasn't as creamy as I would have like. The shrimp and crab linguine wasn't great either. Honestly the best thing I ate was the desserts.
Awesome fresh sea food, superb service from samantha ,she answered all the queries patiently and made our first experience at Mitchell's so special and memoriable
Seafood restaurant with good selection; however the crab stuffed shrimp was a little on the small size and salty.
loved it
The salmon melted in my mouth... great service too!!
Our number one spot. Best food, drinks, and service
Great Happy Hour specials. Food is excellent and bar tenders are very attentive.
Great food and a great atmosphere, service was great.
Great food and atmosphere, server was not on his game to be sure.
Good place to go with friends after say a movie (theater is close by) Not sure I'd go out of my way just to eat there. The food was average and a bit over priced. Beats Red Lobster thou.
Enjoyed it. Thanks...
Shrimp for 2 out of this world! If you don't try any thing else must try cheesecake. Great fish on Fri. Eat in or take home. I take home on Fri. Enough for Sat.
Very good visit. Prices weren't as bad as thought. And that one waiter was everywhere. Can't wait to come back.
Stuffed flounder, fish was so over cooked and hard.
Fantastic service and great food
The Cajun pasta with chicken is the best I’ve had anywhere!
Enjoyed the food it was prepared well and tasted good, however priced higher for what you are getting. Our server was nice and attentive. The restrooms are very clean. The hostess was not very nice she was actually rude.
great service and food
The only issue I found with this restaurant is the portion sizing; they're too small for the price, in my opinion. Other than that, the food is wonderful, the fish incredibly fresh, and the service exceptional.
Five stars from start to finish. Great atmosphere....not too casual but not too formal...just right for any occasion. Our waiter was friendly and helpful and attentive but not overly so. The food is consistently far above average. We have dined here many times and have never been disappointed. The lobster bisque is a treat with a rich flavor and consistency. The Fresh "Catch of the day" (Chilean Sea Bass today) ...done to perfection, or the Fruiti Del Mare ... Pasta with mussels/scallops/shrimp in a red sauce are my favorite.
