Walleye and Buffalo are always superb, and they give good old fashioned big servings and friendliness. River Fries are also hard to beat. You have to go there. Prices are also friendly to the pocketbook.

There is a seasonal stand out side of the store that sells fried fish. They give you a lot that is enough to share with your choice of wheat or white bread. It comes with sliced pickles and onion. They also have fried okra or river fries on the menu. Both are really good. The fish is the best ever!

"Everything we got is fried," the hostess kindly explained. They make their own breading, and sell bags of it in their shop. "Everything you'd need for your fish fry" Cute place that is an actual fish market with some outdoor seating (which is pretty much right on South Grand--a main drag through town). I waited quite a while for my friend catfish strips, fried okra, and corn fritters (also fried), but once it arrived it was great. The breading was perfect- not too heavy and the crispy, slightly gritty texture perfectly complimented the fresh fish. Fish : 5/5 Corn fritters: 4/5 Okra: skip it

This place used to be good....in the 90's. The walleye if you will call it that is fried til it has the texture of a pork rind. The catfish is mushy. The inside of the place looks like ground zero. The only reason its still around is because no competition. THROW THE WHOLE PLACE IN THE GARBAGE

Excellent fried walleye. River fries and okra were very good. Huge portions! Don't waste your time with tartar sauce packets though. Use tartar sauce at home or buy a bottle at the grocery store if you're from out of town.

Great fast fish and slaw. Sometimes at night the line is unbelievable, otherwise it's a quick in and out. It's so good my friend who hated fish all his life likes it now, but only from carter's. It's the gateway fish.

Probably the best fried fish in the whole town. Good portion size, fairly inexpensive, staff are usually very nice and the place at least seems clean -though I've only ever gotten take away so I've never actually been inside. There are some down sides such as nightmarish parking and it can get very busy which means you'll have a wait even if you called in ahead of time. But the pros certainly outweigh the cons. Keep making delicious fried fish and hushpuppys and I'll keep coming back.
