This Fish Shop is included in the category of Seafood market.
It did not disappoint. It was crowded but line moved quickly. We had the lobster roll, crab cake sandwich and seafood combo. All the seafood tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. Service was attentive and polite. There is seating outside. We will definitely return, too many other dishes to try.
I took a bike ride out here last week from the city and it was a great meal. The prices are reasonable for seafood and it's super casual (communal seating.) The grilled seafood is cooked and dressed with this kickass olive oil. Definitely go if you're having a craving for good seafood.
Really outstanding fresh fish. Owner often on premises to discuss how he supplies many local restaurants. Waiting times can often exceed one hour. Takeout is sometimes a better option at busy times. Portions are huge for most dishes and we commonly share 3 dinners for 5 people and still have leftovers.
Literally THE BEST SEAFOOD RESTAURANT
Ordered fish that comes with roasted vegetables( peppers, onions and zucchini). Plate came with rise, fried green beans and baked potatoes. I kindly asked if I can have usual roasted veggies and was told "that what we have today" and no substitutions are allowed. I asked to speak to the manager and was told that the manager is busy and doesn't want to speak to me. When he finally came to speak,he was very rude and did not care at all. This place has the typical hostile Estern European attitude towards customers and I'm surprised it has so many good reviews. They have lost me as a customer.
Great food. Very expensive.
Very interesting experience. Repeated visit.
Very Good! Delicious and flavorful
Ate here for the first and was very impressed with the food here. Everything seemed very fresh, from the seafood to the garlic, everything really popped with flavor. The service was extremely quick but very unorthodox. We placed and paid for our entire order at the cash register before ever sitting down. They gave us a numbered card to display at our table and one we say down food started rolling out as it was completed. I didn't have an issue with this, especially because the food came out so quickly, was just not what I was expecting.
Best fish anywhere. Beware, do NOT order a side. We took home like two extra dinners worth of food. Best leftover lunch ever.
FRESHEST Seafood in Chicago hands down,....portion sizes off The Chart. Waitstaff are consistent, efficient and friendly. Prices are reasonable and in line with Market Value.
I can say that is fresh but I had better sea food in Gibson steakhouse in pretty similar price.
Local gem - Good value for the portions. Would have given 5 stars but the items we got were not items we would immediately go back for again. The scallop skewers were amazing but the lobster roll was mediocre, the lobster bisque was too thick for my preference and although the oysters were huge, they were overwhelming. As far as the sides, fries were great, slaw was mediocre, Texas toast was great, grilled veggies were great. Would definitely go back to try new items, but not in any immediate rush.
We have been here twice already. I would recommend to go here as a group, then you can order more and try each other food. The portion is huge. The seafood is very fresh and good quality, hence the price is high here. Summer time is always crowded and long line, the wait will be insane summer time. Overall: Menu: 5stars Food: 5stars Price: $$ Service: 5stars If you are looking for high quality seafood, come to this restaurant. Highly recommend the restaurant.
The Boston fish market. It's a simplistic menu, mainly starring the fish itself. Some of my favorite dishes include the swordfish, and the grilled octopus. Most recently I tried the orange roughy, simply because I knew I would be served a fantastic meal no matter what. Come here for some of the best freshest seafood you can imagine. The market supplies other high tier restaurants with fish from the coasts, you can't get a better price point on fresh seafood near Chicago if you tried.
fresh or prepared seafood any kind you want
First time here and amazing!!!!!!! Every plate that came out of the kitchen looked out of this world. I can't wait to go back! Service and food was top notch!
Food was incredible! A group of us came here for a friends birthday and everyone order something different and no one was disappointed (except for the one person who was allergic to shellfish and didn't like seafood). It was pricey and had quite a long line to order your food, but you get what you pay for - the portions were large and everything was yummy!
Great food. Great service. Outdoor seating is nice.
The best fish I've ever had. It's amazing every time.
Very good food. Good service. Need more parking space as well as a bigger restaurant to accommodate customers. Not much space between tables and barely personal space.
We pulled up to complimentary valet parking. Ordered our food and chose our seats. The food was great, the service was superb! Our waiter was ON it! Never had to want for anything because he was right there and not overbearing at all. The food portions were generous and there were so many seafood options to choose from. For a restaurant that sells fish, but doesn’t smell like fish, I think that’s great. I had the mahi mahi with veggies and wild rice and my hubby had the tuna burger. Everything tasted amazing. We both had a big portion of food leftover. Great date night spot or spot to feed the fam. We paid about $70 for the two of us.
Excellent food and service... I wish there were more stars to rate this place. Highly recommended.
Top seafood. The best that you probably can get anywhere in Chicagoland. Go there! Do not walk, run. You will not be disappointed
Amazing experience! Great seafood and sides.
The quality of the sea food is great as it is fresh. I went there for lunch and had a red snapper sandwich which was delicious. Highly recommend the restaurant. You can also buy raw sea food just like in the market which is always a plus. Will definitely go there again.
The food is excellent and plentiful! Don't forget to byob
Portions are very big, be prepared. Very good place, everything is delicious.
Yum yum casual dining. Fresh fish and nice gumbo dish. Feeds a family with lots of left overs to take home. Do not order every thing at once take your time. They are quick in preparing whatever you order.
More food than you can eat always a doggy bag. Worth the money
Good seafood excellent service weekends can be a challenge but well worth it
A good place to enjoy fresh seafood
Food is really good and their servings are huge and they have a very nice service. Everything's fresh! Yummy!
I decided to check this place out as I had to choose a place for my birthday dinner. Immediately I knew this place was going to be a winner. Seating is either outside or in the actual restaurant. You order at the cash register and pay on the spot. You can sit down or take out. You can also order fresh seafood to take home and cook your self. The prices are not bad. One you order it you sit down, you will be give a number and a waiter will assist you from that point on. I ordered the Cajun Red Snapper. This was an excellent choice. The fish was moist, seasoned well, and fresh. You also get season Cajun vegetables with Cajun rice. I think all dinners come with the veggies. The veggies consist of potatoes, red and green bell peppers, squash, and zucchini. I’m not a fan of squash but the way it was season was perfect! You also receive season garlic bread while waiting for your food. This place is well worth it and you have to try it. I would definitely go back as they have a huge menu.
Softshell crab sandwich was amazing! If you are in the area. It's a must try.
I had the salmon perch and shrimp with a delicious sauce. So good
The food was really good. We sat in a tent like structure and it was just not warm enough. I will return when it gets warmer. Happy that I made the drive with my father.
I just wanted familiar "comfort" food that would excited my soul! I had no access to "real" while in gated Texas. But I'm back to genuine, warm interactive service and fabulous tastes. God, I'm glad that Boston Fish Market Restaurant makes up for so many of those pretend seafood joints. Just thinking of it, makes my mouth water!
Great place to eat. Not much on atmosphere, but I am too busy eating or talking to friends to notice. I will say for dishes with large portions, like my mussels, a part might be under cooked. Doesn't bother me much since I am the type to be okay with eating sushi.
Got the lobster bisque and parmesan horseradish encrusted halibut. The fish was excellent, but being horseradish covered made a few bites crazy hot. I would suggest getting the sauce on the side. It's served with lemon, and it cut the spice level. The bisque was lacking seasoning, but it was still good.
This place has fantastic fish for you to take home but also has great prepared food as well. I will note that they are healthy portions so be sure to bring a group and empty stomachs.
Come H U N G R Y . I mean hungry. Ok the price are high but enough food for two . Stand at the door and watch the staff carry the platters of food out And you will see one order is enough for two. All dinners come with a large platter of grilled veggies.( Dinner orders) it's a little of a madhouse for first timers but just take your time and enjoy.
Outdoor tented area leaked some during dinner which was somewhat unpleasant. The staff and service was good. The Food through made up for the indoor drizzle. Seafood was fresh. The portion allowed us to share and enjoy. They did buy us a drink on the house as well. Our New Year's Eve dinner was a success
Fresh food and if you have them cook it for you, it's even better. Big plates and you order by the pound. Make sure you bring your big pants.
Got. More expensive..charge you now when you bring your own beer.
People are friendly, helpful, and personable! Food is superb! Huge amounts of food! Tons of dishes to choose from. You can eat family style or in the dining room! I would highly recommend to any seafood lover! Great place to go with a large party or a small one. Greek salad is really good as well! You should try it! My entire family enjoys it!
Not much of an atmosphere, but my gosh, the food is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.!
This place is amazing. Quality seafood market and restaurant. A must go to.
This place is fantastic! Oh so good!
The best seafood spot near O'Hare airport
Expensive but very good food. Food is served as large portions, so be prepared to share.
Come with an appetite or don’t bother, the portions for the majority of the dishes are very generous. Outdoor seating arrangements are great for the summer. Not sure how they operate during the winter. I would recommend coming with a party of 6 or less.
Excellent food. Very fresh. The calamari was the best I've ever had. The gumbo was amazing as well. Just wish they let you know that it's literally meant for about 4 people. Definitely not for one person.
They have really started to hike their prices up from what they used to be for the same portion sizes and I've been going here for years before they had all the outdoor seating, wait staff, and overflow parking across the street. I guess it is because they are getting more popular and taking advantage of the clientele. Seafood is still good though but won't go as often anymore.
Super-fresh, quality seafood and fish. Huge selection of fish and a variety of preparations. Complimentary garlic bread. Various appetizer, soup, and salad options. Enormous portions! Reasonable prices for quality and quantity. Outdoor seating on patio; communal seating inside.
If you like sea food, nice place in Des plaines, wide variety of choices. Parking can be an issue during busier times
Simply AMAZING Seafood and Fish! Large plates so its great to share with the table - really fresh and delicious! Favorite time to go is in the summer and eat outside.Highly Recommend!
Absolutely one of the best fish and seafood restaurants around! Excellent variety of fish choices that is prepared and served by a friendly staff. The servings are huge!
So fresh, you don't smell fish when you walk in. I drive 45 minutes each way to eat here and probably pass a dozen other lesser seafood restaurants along the way. And I'm doing it again tonight.
Wow delicious food fresh! I get swordfish vesuvio wow juicy and huge plate!
Food is fantastic. Alot of great seafood options. Prices are more than reasonable for the quality. New location is very spacious well designed.
Never disappoints. Delicious!
I love love love this place!! Excellent food for your price! Will go again and again!!
Place is a great find...please don't tell anyone. Its crowded enough.
Can't wait to return best seafood and service .Cost was outstanding , and platter was amazing.
Very delicious seafood no matter what you choose.
Great seafood with a large outdoor patio. Good sized portions. Veggie side had too much oil so I'd request light oil on the sides Well worth the checking out if you like seafood.
My family and I love this restaurant. The waitress are fantastic and very detail while they work. Food is delicious and fresh. My wife and I love the raw oysters.
I thought I would never find a place that takes po boys seriously north of New Orleans. Boston fish market went above and beyond my expectations. Bravo.
Yum!!! Best seafood in these parts. Not to be missed. Great variety
Interesting set up and the outdoor patio is really an amaizing find for the summer. Seafood is fresh and plenty!
Very nice food, efficient and friendly service
Some of the best seafood in the Chicago area.. really good
Awesome food my parents and I had enjoyed the food very filling and great service from Felipe as well
They may or may not have the best lobster rolls and lobster bisque outside of New England, but they are definitely the best in Chicagoland. They get it perfectly cooked every time I come here. It's honestly one of my favorite restaurants I've ever been to! I wholeheartedly recommend it! ❤️
Large sea food processor with restaurant attached. Best seafood in Chicago not a fancy restaurant, but still the best seafood in Chicago! I had walleye ,it couldn't have been any fresher if I'd caught it myself. We ordered gumbo for the table it was incredible. The portions were huge we're going to eat gumbo for a week and love it every day.
nice place very nice servers food is great . but the owner he thinks he's the only one who has business in this world because of him I don't go here and eat and give him my money he docent deserve it . but the staff are very nice people working here . unless the owner change his mind and starts to know how to talk to people this place will lose lots of customers. there for I give it the stars that I put up there for the food and the servers. thetas all
Very pleasant..outdoor dining. . When I first looked at menu I thought.overpriced. when the food .came the portion sizes were 2
The rice was awesome ... place used to be good 3 years ago. Too busy not a lot of servers , slow service, parking lot is packed It was a little bit disappointing
Fantastic food, get there early or you can be waiting a long time
Great fish but far too expensive!!! They are pretty friendly but have to wait long time to get your fish. You can purchase raw fish to take home or order food tio eat there...
Great fishes to eat. Deliciousmealandand fresh market. Well done
What a place to eat fresh fish. Love it
Very good food and service a little pricey but worth it.
The fresh seafood and you don't smell in when you walk through the door. The wait staff the perfectly cooked broiled and fried selections are excellent.
Very fresh. Great to sit outdoors and eat good seafood. 1 meal could EASILY foor 2 adults.
Excellent food but cashier is so crabby all of the time!
Always a great choice for fish. Pricey but portions are large. Don't order fried calamari or fried anything, they haven't mastered that already. Any boiled, grilled or any other cooking style is good. Cioppino and gumbo are a must there.
The seafood at Boston Fish Market is amazing. Always fresh and cooked to order. We typically get the fried walleye, fried shrimp and gumbo, they're the best we've had hands down there is no comparison. I'm beginning to crave it as I write this review.
Portions were huge, service was very polite, and food was good. I would avoid the sandwiches; the bread was dry and fell apart as soon as we picked them up. My mom had the shrimp and calamari combo which was great. Overall, it's a tiny bit pricey, but worth a try.
I have been on the East coast eating crab cake and devouring fresh caught fish from the Atlantic. I have eaten oysters from the Gulf of Mexico. I have been all over the "Big Easy" sampling all of the delicious sea food. I have eaten fresh caught sea food from fish markets right on the Pacific Ocean, from San Francisco to Ensenada (Baja California, Mexico). And some how I had to look in my own back yard to experience sea food greatness! This is a true 5 star restaurant, they need at least 3 Michelin stars and a James Beard award! You can't beat the price, freshness, taste, service, and cooking quality! I will be back, for sure
White fish good,,,griled calamari, very hard ,not tender enough
When you first look at the prices you are a bit taken back but once you see the amount of food you get the price makes sense, you can share and still have good to take home. I have never had anything that was not fantastic. I would give 5 * but sometimes the place is disorganized. You will be told to order at the counter and you get a number to take to your table, the problem with that is the waitstaff has to look all over inside and out to find that number, other times you will be seated and a waiter will take your order. There is no rhyme or reason as to how they do that we were told to order and then sit and others at the same time were told to sit and order. I would prefer to sit and decide and would probable spend more money if I had time to look at what they have rather than be in line with many people behind you waiting. If they could figure that out then it would for sure be 5*
Best place to eat and buy seafood in Chicagoland area. No other place can beat their: #1. Quality of prepared dishes or raw fish (always fresh) #2. Portions, two people can share an order for one. #3. Price, no other place can even come close to their price for the things you get. Service is very good always around and professional. If you love seafood and Mediterranean cuisine this is place for you. If you care more about wine list than the food don't go there please let others enjoy good and fresh food.
Very large portions of fresh fish/seafood menu as well as offering a fresh seafood market. Never been disappointed!
I loved this restaurant. The nice sea food dish I ever ate.
Delicious food. Get there early.
The parking is less than ideal however once inside it's a seafood lovers paradise! Loads of options on the menu. During spring and summer months there is an expanded covered patio outside to accommodate more people. Very busy on weekends. Family style seating inside the main location. Can get raw seafood to go or pick something fresh from the menu to eat in house. Most visit for seafood lovers.
For fish lovers. Great place. When busy. They set up tables outside.
Best fish I've had in a long time. I wish they opened on Sundays. :(
The seafood gumbo is amazing! Freshest fish!
Been to place a couple times. During the day, less chaotic. You stand in line and order from the counter. You get a number and find yourself a seat somewhere..maybe with someone else at your table. You place your number on the table and wait for delivery. Most times all is well. Large portions of fresh seafood. However, went there on a Saturday nite, $178 for seabass, 6 baked clams and Alaskan king crab legs (huge) x2. Both main dishes were cold and had to be sent back. They must have been sitting too long. At $180 bucks for 100 decibel atmosphere and prison yard seating, a sorry, 1 free beer at $6 or something would have been nice, but we got nothing. Just a longer wait. I still like this place, just dont go when its busy. Oh and there is literally 8 parking spots in the area. Good luck.
The fish was fresh and outstanding. Took friends for the 1st time and they just loved it.
The fish was really well cooked too perfect tenderness but was a bit lacking in flavor. I wish there was just more creative options flavor wise but maybe I ordered the wrong thing? It's pretty expensive but will go again just to check try out their other flavor options.
Wonderful seafood. Generous portions. Quality is the freshest. The rainbow trout with shrimp marinara is delicious. The lobster is monstrously big and so so good. Don't hesitate to order!
Great food, lots of it for the money!!! Not the cheapest but always great quality! The vegetables that come with most meals are very low quality, it's the area they need the most improvement. Highly recommend if you love seafood!
Boston Fish Market is a must go if you like fish. I mean if you think that Red Lobster is good, than this place will get your taste buds explode! I go here to buy the 1lbs pre cut salmon and put it on the grill at home. Never had a bad smelling piece as you can get at other grocery stores. I do highly recommend this place.
Fresh seafood...I got the octopus/squid combo..plenty of food and amazing!
An unbelievable experience every single time. Highly recommended, especially the fried seafood platter!
Maybe the best seafood I've had in all of North America. Took my mom there and she was blown away!!! Great prices per quantity, and quality is out of this world.
Heard this place serves the best seafood and has the best value, I totally agree! As you walk into the restaurant, you are free to choose an inside or outside seating, and make your order by the counter. After ordering, you are served complimentary garlic breads which are really good! Warm, crusty and tasty, just remember to go easy as the portions of the food are huge! At Boston Fish Market, there are two types of seafood basically, broiled or deep fried, each comes with different sides. The broiled comes with roasted vegetables and wild rice. The deep fried comes with fries and coleslaw. Both are really good, it really depends on personal preference and the kind of things you order. For our meal, we ordered three different platters: Deep Fried Great Lakes Combo Platter (Whitefish, Smelts, Walleye, and Lake Perch), Broiled Fisherman's Platter (Scallops, shrimps, Lake Erie Perch & Mahi), and Deep Fried Sample Platter (Scallops, Shrimp Oysters). All the food are simply glorious, juicy, succulent and BIG plump scallops! My personal favorite are the scallops, either broiled or deep friend, they are both equally good. They are done to perfection, not under nor over, it simply melts in your mouth! I am blown away by the quality and freshness of the seafood here, especially being so far from the ocean. Boston Fish Market is really a great seafood restaurant at great prices. Will definitely return again and again, and will find all sorts of opportunities to come back!
Wow!!!! I only heard good things about Boston Fish Market from a lot of friends. It’s 30 miles straight North from me. I stopped in after a wake and was blown away!!! You can literally pick the piece of or whole fish you want cooked. I had Chilean Seabass and took home seafood Gumbo. The lady that took my order was extremely helpful with explaining everything to me. I highly recommend and will gladly make the 30 mile trek to go again.
Fantastic place to go to if you are a seafood lover ... Must try ... Ciopino and octopus ...
Now this is a fish market. Constantly bustling, this restaurant serves fresh fish, and you can tell. The cooks know how to cook too. Fish is served fresh and you get what you pay for. Very fair, very tasty. Restaurant could use some styling, but overall, this is a better restaurant to go to for fish.
Great food. Could have split.
Good fish selection a bit pricey. Charbroiled grouper sandwich and salmon burger were good.
The food is to die 4. Please, remember the portions are large. Eat responsible. Lol
Huge portions of fish that were swimming yesterday they are so fresh. Stuffed halibut Oscar is amazing. Jumbo shrimp dinner had enough for a second meal. And they have a retail desk where you can buy fresh never frozen fish to take home for your own recipes.
Went to celebrate 50 B-Day the only thing we celebrated was first time in our lives 2 hour waiting as we saw many parties (about 20) went before us, the second thing for us to celebrate was (again) first time to wait for the food for another 40 min as we saw parties of 2-4 people that sat after we did received their food before us (we were only party of 6) But the food is great and a lot. Even dough the food is great do not think to go there again, they do not have the professional hosts to run the proper wait.
Delicious fresh food, generous portions that can easly feed two people. Fairly priced
If you like fish thos is the place for great food
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. You would not expect to receive such amazing g food at those prices. I do wish there was more private seating, but the communal tables did allow me to see many great dishes on other's plates! I will definitely be back!
Celebrated my dad’s birthday there for lunch today (a Saturday) and it was FABULOUS! Excellent food, great staff, and tremendous quality!! I had the crab cakes sandwich, super moist and flavorful. My dad ordered a platter with shrimp, scallops, mahi-mahi, and walleye. THAT WAS DELICIOUS- I sampled from all. My sister ordered the crab stuffed calamari with feta, tomatoes, and spinach and she was in good heaven. Easily 3 portions for her. My boyfriend ordered the grilled grouper and it was so flavorful. We all shared 2 bowls of lobster bisque soup and it was the best I’ve ever had!! Garlic bread was outstanding. All staff was super friendly and attentive. Loved that we went at a time with no wait. Great experience and I would highly recommend!!
Fresh seafood. Huge portions. Great price
The best place in town ! You have to save a few hour to enjoy their delicate scallops , perfect prepared mahi-mahi or delicious green salad with anchovy ....OMG !! This place was the best of my trip to Chicago !!!
Great seafood. I had fish and chips and it was delish. Has a "deli" for purchasing fish and seafood to prepare at home as well. I purchased "dry" scallops and they were fresh and cooked up perfectly.
Best, freshest, most delicious seafood we've ever had. These guys know their stuff. Ask them anything. They are very helpful.
Cioppino and fried calamari excellent. Take out order was ready at desired pick up time.
5+ stars for the freshness of the fish and seafood. Stand in sometimes long line to place your orders, then find a seat at the cafeteria-like tables in the front or patio tables out in the heated tent. The food is delicious, the portions are enormous, the quality excellent. Bring your own bottle of wine for a $10 corkage fee.
Came here on a rainy Saturday evening, and it was about an hour wait to get seated. Wait to get our good was day short. They served garlic bread for the table, which was warm and delicious. The lobster bisque, which had decent sized pieces of lobster in it, was delicious. As an appetizer we had the baked Oyster Rockefeller, which was nothing short of amazing. The grilled swordfish, was cooked right, but was lacking a little flavor. Should have gotten the Cajun version of it. Am excited for my next visit to try something else on the menu.
I think it's my new favorite fish place.
Some of the best seafood in the Midwest. Wow. Very diverse options for fish and seafood, and everything is astonishingly fresh. I’ve never smelled a cleaner fish market in my life. The preparations of the seafood are all simple but expertly executed. The prices might be high but you definitely get what you paid for, can’t wait to get hacj
Food is ALWAYS excellent. Portions are huge. Staff is great always. FANTASTIC place to dine in or carryout. Nothing compares to their seafood
Traveling out of town this was an AMAZING FIND. BRAVO
Food was amazing! Felt it was pricey... But the seafood.. ohhhh the seafood...nommmmmm nom.. I just can't resist this place! Lol
Incredible fresh fish & seafood. Cafeteria seating
Ordering the food was the only thing that I didn't like. With a place that has food as delicious as this place, the line will be packed and out the door. This line cuts through the seating area, blocks the path of the restrooms and the waiters bringing the food from the back. The overcrowded area is an accident waiting to happen. Besides that and a very pricey menu, the food IS TO DIE FOR! Go! With plenty of money and good standing shoes. For a nice restaurant such as this, wear casual clothes for most comfort. Oh did I mention its BYOB! I didn't agree with the $10 cork fee. But at least I was able to bring in my own bottle instead of spending an extra $60 on their drinks.
Finally we found a good fish and seafood restaurant. Wow just goodness.
They simply are awesomely authentic greek style fair... Delicious full stop! They are major suppliers to restaurants even! Amazing place!!! Jdr
Very good and fresh food so worth the trip.
Love this place! When we come here we always order to split, the portions are huge! Know what you want to order before getting to register, you'll get a table number so you can find your own seating. We ordered 1/2 shocked oysters delicious! Split the Shrimp and Crab salad with Greek dressing. Had chunkcls of feta cheese , olives, hearts of Palm and beets. Very delicious and fresh. One person in our group ordered the lobster tail, it was delicious looking and tasted great as well. Total with 3 drinks came out to a total of $111.00, without Tip. Not bad for 3 people eating fresh seafood
Huge portions of delicious seafood.
The best seafood restaurant I have ever been to. Fresh variety of fish. Great selection of charbroiled fish as well as fried. Huge portions. The parking can get a little frustrating but if you get there early you should be ok.
My husband and me have eaten there many times, we love the food, we were there for dinner yesterday, Aug. 3rd with our family to celebrate my husband's birthday, the place was full, no parking, we usually seat outside in the front but yesterday we got a table all the way in the back, it was infested with mosquitos we couldn't enjoy our food struggling with trying to keep them out of our food, it was very disappointing since we have talked to our kids and other family members about how good the place is.
Tucked away from the fancy food universe, this is GEM of a place if you want to eat the freshest, best, most delicious sea food in Chicago, period! what can I say, I am never surprised with the quality, taste and freshness of the sea food plates here. Everything is done to perfection. The only draw back is the location and the hours of operation, but besides that this is a five start sea food restaurant. Highly recommend it.
Came on a Tuesday around 6:30 pm. No parking but plenty of seating available. Had the clam chowder and Cajun salmon. The clam chowder was thick, flavorful, and no shortage of clams. The salmon was delish along with the healthy portion of veggies and rice. They brought out Parmesan bread as well. Looking around I saw lots of large plates and wide eyes as plates were brought out, so like others mention come hungry. Definitely a step above average and better than your typical Red Lobster food and experience.
Can't beat the freshness 14 oz lobster tail decadent
OK so I really like to know what I am getting into before I go eat somewhere. I felt kind of lost because I just saw seafood on the menu. No sides... no nothing extra.. just... fish and seafood. That doesn't seem really like a meal?? Well my boyfriend and I get there, we are placed in a bar area on a Saturday night. It wasn't busy. At all. And to be honest the service was not good. I felt like I was a burden to try to get the waiter to explain Anything, to give me a drink, to get his attention. Honestly don't know where he was. It didn't help make me comfortable, made me feel uneasy!! I couldn't even figure out what to get and if there was seasoning, sauce, sides, anything with the seafood ?? Well, we settled on ZUPPA DI PESCE (Mahi Mahi, Manila Clam, PEI Mussels, Calamari, Scallops & Shrimp). The reason I am giving it 3 stars is because the food was 5 stars. Freshest seafood I have ever had. There was a tomato type sauce it was sitting in, but it tasted phenomenal. I don't know if I will ever go back, simply because of the service. The food though.. was amazing. Really happy with the decision to try a bit of everything. The food, for $60.00 was a great deal, and could have fed 4 people!
