One of the most overrated place I've ever been to. The cashier was rude and unfriendly. The food was definitely not worth the wait, especially for this price. I mean, they are tacos... not that different from other taco places, only much more expensive.
Ordered chicken plate and fish salad. Salad was really fresh and the price was reasonable! Id love to go back :)
Lots of delicious food for a decent price! I had the fish tacos and they did not disappoint
Food here is amazing! Fish tacos are fantastic
What else could someone possibly want? Although I would skip the tacos and just get the fish "grilled to perfection"-- they mean what they say.
The fish is cooked very well. Great selection of fish to choose from. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good place to take family after a long day at the beach.
I will reccomend Paia Fish Market Waikiki to anybody. The food is VERY good, service very good and the staff is so friendly and very helpfull in helping you making a good choice.
It's a restaurant in Waikiki which means you will pay $14 for a decent meal. But of all the decent meals in Waikiki, this is one of me favorites. I recommend trying the calamari!
Amazing service. Great food
Best fresh fish. The fresh catch plates either snapper or opah, blackened with their home fries are the best! Will definitely come again. Try the Guarana sofa drink, very refreshing. Mahalo!!
The absolute best fish and chips I've ever had. If you're a fan of good fish, you have to try this place. The slaw wasn't too bad either, but nothing to write home about. Friendly staff and delicious food. A must try for sure.
A lot of food for the price, but it just didn't live up to the hype. Pretty bland and below average meal. Tacos had no flavor and the salsa tasted like it was expired.
WOW. The absolute best salmon I've ever had. My dad used to make (and still does when I come to visit) flawless grilled salmon. This one-upped it. I got the salmon sandwich, and it was the butteriest, smoothest salmon. It was almost an injustice eating it on a bun. (But I wanted the tartar sauce on the bun
Good food. Small portions and pricey
Received our food in just a few minutes and it was amazing! This is the one place we plan to go back to in Waikiki as a repeat meal.
Always good. Staff is super friendly and helpful, and the food!! So so good. Best Fish N Chips ever! And the rest of the fish plates are just outstanding!
The blackened Opah was absolutely amazing! The fish and chips is also great. You can't go wrong with the "Obama Burger" though!
18Aug19. The wait was minimal. The waitress with the accent was awesome. I ordered the fried shrimp appetizer and the fish and fries. The seven fried shrimp were hot and fresh. The tarter sauce was great. The 4 pieces of fish were fried just right and the fries were good but could have been better if they weren't shoestring fries, which became hard as they got cold.
Delicious and reasonably priced for this part of Waikiki beach. We went twice during our trip - the shrimp tacos were particularly tasty!
Fast casual spot with really good seafood. The staff was very friendly as well.
Amazing!!! Best fresh fish in the island. It’s cooked perfectly as well. We visited on our last day and it was sad we didn’t find it sooner
The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was casual and welcoming. Their fish plate allows to to select the type of fish, it's preparation, and a side at a reasonable price. The sashimi was excellent, but slightly overpriced.
Great food. Great customer service. Opened in November 2018 and it is thriving!
Food was decent, needed more seasoning. I got the BarackBurger (fish) LOVED the atmosphere
Great food and service. Very casual. Good prices for Waikiki.
Very good fish, prices were reasonable, portions were large. There were a lot of people in the restaurant but we easily found a table and our food came out quick. We're only in Oahu a few days, and we like to try new places but it was so good that there's a good chance we'll go back. Definitely worth stopping by.
Get the blackened Opah...amazing and very fast kitchen...really a too spot to got for fresh seafood
Quick service and absolutely delicious food! The only regret is that we didn't find them sooner!
Ordered fish tacos and my partner had the Mahi burger. The fish was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Both dishes were very flavourful, especially the Cajun rice and slaw that was served with the tacos. Can't wait to come back to try some of the other menu items.
Right up there with the best fish you’ve ever had... Paia fish market is delicious and one of the best values in Waikiki. Go there, you won’t be sorry! It’s a quick order, quick service, but the food is amazing. We got the fish plate with home fries and coleslaw and split it for 2 adults. The fish is fresh, we liked the opah best. Also these guys know tarter sauce, and the coleslaw is based on their tarter sauce! Great experience. Great staff. Also, on Monday (possibly other days?) a taco and beer is $7.
Had the grilled Mahi sandwich, it was awesome. Great food very friendly people, definitely eating here again !
New place opened up a couple months ago. I would select anything with fish here as it has been good. Tried the fish tacos, fish and chips, and fish burger... all were amazing.
Great food! The fish is cooked perfectly.
We ordered Salmon burger, fish and chips, and blackened ahi for lunch. The fish was all delicious. Everything tasted fresh and was seasoned perfectly for full flavor without losing the flavour and texture of the fish itself.
Seafood chef's salad was terrific. Good portion of quality fish and of real greens, not flavorless iceberg or pedestrian romaine. Reasonable price and fast, friendly service (granted, it wasn't extremely busy when I ate there). The grilled One I chose with the salad was well prepared also. Moist, fully cooked but not overcooked, fresh grilled flavor not overwhelmed by marinade or seasoning. Great experience.
Lunch plate comes with salad and I don't really care for it had some kind of ranch sauce, fries were way too salty, rice was below average, and the homemade fries were not to my liking, salmon was eh but the snapper grilled was really good. Over $50 for 2 people not including tip. Only reason it's 3 stars and not 2 is because the snapper was delicious
Amazing fish dinners. Worth every penny. Compliments to the chefs.
Fabulous food and pretty decent prices for the area. Staff are very friendly. Order up at the counter and they bring the food to your table.
Best Mahimahi sandwiches! ;)
The fish is fresh and the prices are ok. I didn’t care for the fish tacos (strange how they mix two types of fish and it’s kind of minced rather than in chunks) and the buns for the burgers and fish sandwiches are too soft. Just makes a mess. Burger also over cooked but what else is new. Good taste at least. A bit small. Pasta bowl looked very good. The concept is also a bit confusing as far as ordering at the counter and whether or not to leave your things at the table and save it or whatever. Its not a bad plate of fish for $25 I guess given the prices nearby. Not a bad choice overall but I probably won’t go back for a while except to try that pasta.
Best fish sandwich ever... fajitas was awesome Staff is friendly and helpful... They even gave one of my kids grilled chicken and substituted fries for noodles... The price is very good for being right next to the mall.... Park in parking garage take elevator to 1 st floor in mall... walk outside turn left and your there
Paia Fish Market makes the best fish tacos on the planet. This location is just as delicious as their Maui location. Best dinner we had during our 4 night stay and we ate out at some nice restaurants.
This is a place where you order at the counter, get a number tent, and have your food brought to your table when it is ready. Sodas are self service. In addition to the printed fish choices, there may be others; I selected the opakapaka. The fish was very tasty, but I think it came grilled, whereas I requested it be sauteed. (There are several options, including Cajun and blackened as well.). Most of the plate was occupied by coleslaw, OK if you like it. It's busy, but a large dining room, so not too hard to find a table. I would go there again, but I would order differently. There are a couple of choices for vegetarians, BTW.
Food was good and relatively low priced, but it was so hot in there at 8pm I had to get my food to go! Would have been 5 stars if I could eat inside.
Awesome food. This food is so fresh and clean. The fish at Paia is so delicious it has great flavor. The way they mix rice, potatoes, and all the ingredients makes it pop. They have a good size menu and they do great at what they offer. Their coleslaw is so unique I didn't know what to expect but it is crisp and fresh tasting not heavy like other coleslaw. Find it up some stairs by the international market.
I had a giant opah fillet, sautéed in butter and garlic, on top of a bed of home-fried potatoes and grilled onions. I also had their mixed green salad, a quesadilla appetizer, and a Maui Brewing Company draft IPA. The food was delicious, and the portions were enormous. This is a family-style restaurant, and the atmosphere is very informal and comfortable. This is my first time at this restaurant, and I will definitely be coming back.
Fresh fish. Easy going atmosphere. Our best restaurant experience in Honolulu.
Great tasting fish at the restaurant. Would definitely recommend if you like fish. Clean modern atmosphere.
Good fresh fish and good service. Casual setting.
House potatoes with fish tacos? Doesn't make any sense but holy smokes its delicious. The tartar sauce is some of the best I've ever had. The portions are tremendous. Best value I've had in Waikiki.
We really enjoyed our lunch here. Fresh fish with delicious flavors, and even the kids fish stick is made from real fish!
Food was excellent. Well worth the price
Amazing friendly staff greeted us, helped us order, checked on us during the meal and then thanked us for coming. The fish was outstanding! Also enjoyed the rice and home fries.
Some of the best fish ever had. So good that after having dinner we went there again for lunch the next day and got more food for the plane ride. My family and I had the salmon burger, a salad with a grilled white fish (forgot the exact type), fish and chips, shrimp tacos, etc. they were all absolutely delicious, the staff are also super nice and welcoming
Great menu. Good food
One of the best fish dishes in Oahu
Amazing!! I normally don’t like fish. If i get it, it’s fried. My husband got the blackened opah and he had to stop me from eating it all! It was as buttery and delicious and a lot of food for the price point. If you’re visiting Honolulu/Waikiki you have to stop here!
Same as the one in Maui I imagine without having to island hop! Great staff, tender and juicy fish. My guess is the special won't last long!
Fabulous. I will eat here every time im on vacation in waikiki.
Wonderful experience! The food was at a great price point and the quality of the fish was well worth choosing this place for dinner!
Fast service delicious food fresh ingredients great place to eat
Best food for a great price!! My husband and I stayed in Waikiki for 7 nights and we enjoyed dinner at Paia fish market 4 out 7 of those nights. Highly recommended this place!!!
Second (?) location of iconic maui restaurant. Quick, friendly service. For vegetarians there's a very filling quesadilla. Good selection of beers. Great, fresh seafood. Indoor and outdoor seating. Reasonably affordable option in waikiki.
The BEST blackened Mahi salad on the planet! The tartar sauce is what dreams are made of! Get the green garden salad. I used to work night security at the place when it was the Coral Reef Hotel! Crazy how it's all changed.
Omg this place is excellent! We had 3 fish dishes, all great, especially the fish finger looking things which were surprisingly meaty and tasty. See my photos!
All I can say is.....da BEST FISH IN Waikiki !! Hands down ! Amazing Mahi Mahi !! Great prices too !
Awesome food and staff
If you're in the mood for fish, this is the place. A little pricey for counter service but incredibly large portions. Opah is thick and juicy. Opakapaka (pink snapper) is firm. $55 for 2 people for dinner with no drinks.
The fish Fajitas were fantastic but the star was the sauteed Ahi. Service is good and friendly. You will not be disappointed.
Hearty meal, but not cheap. Definitely would go back again.
Fresh fish plates! So delicious. Very accommodating (no onions, sauce on side etc.) Uses recycled fibers in carryout containers + brown bag (no handles). Great for picnics!
It's fantastic. Great daily special. 1 taco and a beer for $7. The fish and chicken tacos are outstanding. Have been there 2 days in a row and over the next 2 weeks that I'm here I will be back several times.
What great seafood we enjoyed here, we also found the service to be truly exceptional. Thank you so much!
Blew my mind how good fish tacos could be! So I wasn't really a fan of their menu by just looking at it. Figured ehhh, you can get food on their menu back home in California...there's nothing special or Hawaiian about this place. We try to get authentic Hawaiian good when we're there you know? Anyways, my husband goes "no, we have to stop by here." We we're headed to another restaurant but on our way we saw this spot and it was almost like fate cause our original spot was still a 15 minute walk away. And so my husband got what he wanted! There was a good amount of people there for a weekday evening. Many of them tourists. They have a little patio area in the front and tons of seating inside. We go in and order the fish tacos and they gave us a number and we decided to sit outside on the patio. So yes, seat yourself seating like many places on the island. We waited quite a bit...about 25 minutes for the fish tacos (2) with half and half, potatoes and rice. When the food finally showed up, it looked like a lot of lettuce up top and barely any fish meat. But once we took our first bites...we realized there's an abundant amount of white fish and it tasted so fresh! I was surprised it was that yummy! Perfect for two people! And the rice was also great! Try the tiger sauce, they have it on the tables!
My sister-in-law swears by this place. No visit to the islands would be complete without a visit to Paia Fish Market. She was so thrilled when they added the Waikiki location.
Super friendly staff. Little pricy for food. Shrimp fajitas were good sized, but came with rice, lettuce tomato, so not super flavorful. Fish pasta had a lot if fish, light on veggies and also good sized.
Had grilled mahi mahi plus a shrimp taco. Some of the most perfectly cooked, well-seasoned seafood I've had, and I'm from California (seafood everywhere). This is definitely going in my rotation.
Super chill environment. GREAT food!!! Fresh fish! Amazing. A MIST go if you're in the area.
Great food. Reasonable prices.
The food was freshly prepared and tasted amazing. The service was great too!
Don't miss this place if you go to Waikiki!! Incredible fish and chips and fish tacos. Very reasonably priced.
I loved the seafood here. Had the grilled salmon and it was delicious. They even had quesadillas for the kids.
Although we had a positive experience for the most part, toward the end of our meal we felt pressured to “hurry” and finish our meal to make room for new customers. We felt this pressure from both our waitress and the new customers. It was then made worse by the fact that after we were literally asked “are you almost done” by our waitress, she then “forgot” about us after taking my credit card and after we asked for a to-go box (we had to sit there awkwardly while waiting quite awhile for the to-go box for my 4 year old daughters leftovers and also to sign our bill, ALL of this while the new customer were halfway seated at our table and waiting for us to leave so they could fit the rest of their party). The food was fine, if not a bit pricey, but this left a bad taste in our mouths. Oh, and the French fries are pretty bad.
I dont think it"s that great. It's overpriced, could be the location. The flavors were bland. Too much rice and Cole slaw didn't taste fresh.
Delicious fish. Reasonably priced, comfortable space. It makes me want to come back.
Good food, healthy portions, clean, servers were friendly and helpful.
Delicious fish and fast service. Counter service and fast-casual, so great place for lunch but not nice enough for a fancy dinner. Delicious fresh fish and shrimp!
Pasta is not their best Suit, Neither is clam chowder I got sick after eating there and had to run to the nearest restroom for the rest of the Night.
We loved the fish and shrimp tacos. Great place!
Excellent menu Choose how to prepare Great sides Friendly helpful servers Family friendly Great experience...
Paia Fish Market...here's a tip for you all, skip the entrees and go for the salad. You get just as much fish and some shrimp for a significant cost reduction. Like everyone else notes, their fish is great! I was a little skeptical when my friends suggested eating here but I was pleasantly surprised. The menu is limited, but I think that allows them to specialize and focus on quality. Often times restaurants have large menus that don't have a focus in order to please everyone, and that makes the quality of the food suffer. Out of our group of 5, everyone loved their meal and said they would be willing to return. Staff was helpful and super friendly. Our one waitress may have been having a bad day...she would just take our plates without asking and we found that to be very odd. If you're staying at the Laylow (you should!), it's down the escalators and to the left.
Had the fish tacos. Very good. Place is clean, service was fast and friendly, and food was tasty. Prices were on par for Waikiki.
Went back twice for their seafood chowder and fish tacos which were outstanding. This time I tried the seafood bowl which was on the expensive side. However it was worth every penny. Loaded with shrimp schalops, fish chunks lots of noodles and yummy sauce and cheese. There was so much I couldn't finish it and took it back home for a second meal. For two meals it was a great price and I'll go again.
Fantastic place for a meal and reasonable prices considering you're right in the middle of Honolulu. Someone had recommended doing the seafood green salad and picking a fish and I'm glad I listened. Huge salad with nice tasting dressing plus my fish of choice. Only marking down one star because both times they had been running out of certain fish that night.
Great food! Fresh seafood and wonderful atmosphere
Great service. Tasty food.
The fish tacos here are great! The lunch size is plenty for 1 person and the dinner size is great to share with someone.
Nice hole in the wall with fresh sushi
Great food! Tried the mahi mahi plate and it did not disappoint. Devoured in 10 mins.
I’m gonna give the dinner plates and lunch plates five stars they’re actually fantastic. I thought the tacos were not as good as they should’ve been. The service was fantastic! It can be crowded to find a table but usually clears out pretty fast. The fish was very fresh and delicious. I would definitely eat lunch or dinner here again
Amazing!!! We love your food. The fish tacos and Fish & Chips are simply the best we've ever had. We've now eaten at Paia Fish Market in Paia, Lahaina & Waikiki. Next up Kihei. Seriously, your style, seasoning & freshness of fish tacos & fish & chips are out of this world. And your beer is pretty dang good too. Keep up the outstanding presentation, tasted & quality.
I was super excited to see this place come to Oahu. I made sure it was on the list of places to eat when I go island hopping to Maui. The plates are large! You could almost split a plate between 2 people. I frequent the place for the taco and beer for $7. Delicious taco and a craft local beer for $7. It's like you're getting the taco for free! Fish tacos are delicious...
You order your food at counter and then you ar given a number to take to your table. A staff member brings the food to your table. Silverware, condiments, and napkins are at the table. The fish was good asbwell as the sides that come with. Unfortunately, they overcook the fish. There's probably better places that can cook the fish a little better for the price.
Friendly staff, tasty food, cold and bubbly fountain drinks. Prices not too bad for the regular menu. Below photo of the fresh catch plates the day we visited (a bit steep for lunch so we passed this for tacos and burgers). Good price for kids meals. Decent size serves. Thanks!
Shrimp and fish tacos were very good, and overall a great place for Waikiki, I would of liked to try the fish plate but unfortunately was way too pricey at 22 bucks for lunch. Suggestion is serve a smaller piece of fish and drop the price to 13-15 to cater for Lunch crowd.
Great restaurant for a quick fish (which is fresh and absolutely tasty). Recommended!
One of the best fish I have ever had in my life. They told me the word for deliciousness is onu in Hawaiin and the fish I got was called onu. So u could imagine. It was so good that I had my dinner here for three straight days. I tried the garlic salmon , blackened snapper and the Cajun onu. Everything was amazing. When u r in Hawaii this is a must go place to eat if you love fish
The food here is delicious. The best place for fish dishes. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Clean tidy premises. The prices are reasonable. A must try for visitors to waikiki.
Excellent food and staff! Highly recommended
I've been enjoying Paia fish market since its debut on Maui...watched the growing business expansion to Kehei and Lahaina...great consistency! So, I had to go to the Waikiki location and let me tell you...they deliver! The staff is amazing and the food is fantastic. I notice the little idiocincracies but nobody else can...just do it if you like fresh fish.
The fish was fresh and very good the french fries were good and I really like the coleslaw that came with it. Went with a large group of people and we all got a big picnic table together indoors. Others got the fish tacos and they all really enjoyed it we really had a pleasant time at this place with a group of six people. you order from the counter and then go sit down and then they bring out the food. The service was fairly quick and we all got our meals pretty quickly
Such a fun menu and vibe. Wish we had discovered it sooner. We had sashimi, burgers, salmon and noodles from the kids menu. Definitely recommend.
Fast casual restaurant where you order at the counter and the food is brought to your table. The fish are fresh and well prepared and seasoned. Excellent quality with generous portions. Beer and wine are also available.
Great food, huge portions, reasonable prices, easy to feed two always hungry teenagers and two adults, w even part take out, great fresh fish
Truely a diamond in the rough. May not be fancy on the outside but the food inside is some of the Best you will ever have. The portions are large and the dishes are some of the best in Honolulu. The Ono was moist and flavorful and the seafood salad was more quality seafood than pasta. Plus the prices were suprisingly reasonable. A must if you visit Honolulu.
Wonderful food. Very fresh and tasty.
Awesome restaurant that you have to try! The food was absolutely fantastic and the people were great too. There were also good choices for the kids. Also it's a really nice atmosphere for a date or for the family! If you are in the area I can guarantee that you will not regret making this your choice for a meal!
5 stars is definitely all for the food as this is a very casual walk-up service counter restaurant. Fish was cooked perfectly!
There were 5 of us. We ordered together but our meals arrived at different times and two of us were almost finished before the last meal arrived. I had fish and chips. The fish was dry and rubbery - really not good at all. And half of the plate was coleslaw. Half of the plate ! The other meals ranged from fair to excellent. There are better options all over Waikiki.
Food was good and came out pretty quickly. Did the fish and shrimp tacos which were flavorful and good. Price was good for Honolulu lunch and had a nice selection of options. Has indoor and outdoor seating.
Good fish, good sides, and big portions for reasonable prices. Pleasant but not fancy. More a lunch than dinner place.
Good food, atmosphere, and service. Shrimp tacos were excellent but the sides of cole slaw and home fries were nothing special. Good price to portion ratio by Waikiki standards.
The seared ahi is everything. A local recommended this place to us and he wasn't wrong. Yum
This is where you want to go for great food and atmosphere. Best prices for sea food in Waikiki when compared to other local restaurants. Don’t waste your money elsewhere come here!
Good size portions. I had the fish and chips which were so delicious. I even liked their coleslaw (which I don’t usually care for). Their tartar sauce was on par!
It’s pretty much a Hawaiian version of California Fish Grill (for those who get it). Had the Mahi Cajun Sandwich and Seafood Pasta and they were pretty good. It wasn’t anything out of this world, but I’d still recommend it. Portions are huge and prices are decent, except the seafood pasta is a cool $22.
One of my food highlights staying in Waikiki and this was even after they forgot to put through our order and we were waiting 20+ mins. Super fresh seafood and more importantly they cook it flawlessly. Well priced too. Worth taking a seat outside on the balcony and just people watching the crazy people here and there below you.
My wife and I ordered the fish and chips, a taco and a beer. Everything came out really fresh and crispy. The service was also great, as we were greeted by their friendly staff upon entering and during our meal.
