REVIEWS OF Nico's Pier 38 IN Hawaii

James Hamilton

First time here. Staff was super friendly. Got a two choice poke bowl. My daughter like the taste but not the texture and they whipped up something up for her. This place is awesome.

Derrick Segee

Appetizer of pork belly and chicken wings were delicious. Now the salmon salad and the crab salad were missing from flavor and awfully small. Pork loin dinner was nothing special either, the service for the bar appetizer was great ,now the waitress for our dinner had issues.

Dawn R

Never disappoints - 2nd year in a row that it's been our first stop after we land!!! Hoisin chicken is a family favorite... The swordfish had a great flavor as well!

Paul Tamashiro

Very good place to go eat and just hang out. We were there for a long time at least 3 hours. you can too! its a very great place to sit down, and enjoy catching up, well if you have the time.

Willie Martinez

Wow! Fresh fish/catch of the day, right from the pier, which is nearby. My friend and I had the Opah fish, broiled, and fried, to share the experience of both. Amazingly both versions were mouth watering; which means excellent.....and the prices...extremely affordable. Definitely coming again to try another different catch of the day.

Steve F

Good place to come with out of town friends or casual business lunch.

Keena Leonard

We love this restaurant because its good without a lot of fuss. We can go for date night or lunch with the kids and enjoy. The setting is calming and the food is satisfying.

Robert Zavala

Love the Fish and Chips. No waiter dining til 5 pm. You order at the bar or cashier. Air conditioning dining inside, but we always eat outside on the patio. Fish was swordfish for my fish and chips, nice and meaty.

Chip Fox

Nice place but it can get pretty busy. Nice local artist singing and playing but room can get kind of loud when this crowded. Food was ok but I think kitchen was running crazy due to crowd. Not as good as I remember. Try upstairs resturant if downstairs is busy.

Rodel Maulit

Location is beautiful and their food was wonderful. I had an early evening with my parents and sister here and what a wonderful time we had. It's location is perfect and flavors were outstanding. They exemplify what a great restaurant should be with prioritizing their meal preparations.

Joe K

Fish tacos for the wife. They were delicious with a Wasabi aioli. I had the fish and chips which turned out to be a huge tuna steak lightly beer battered nice and crispy. Very tasty.

JIM Shui Ming Jim

Good food, good atmosphere! We went at dinner time on Sunday and can get a table for 8. Price are at acceptable level. Have live band music

Pam J.

Food was good, employees great, pricey for what we got. Not much for a vegetarian family member to choose from.

Sherwin N

Excellent vendor sponsored dinner. Thank you Noah and Jules for setting it all up. Excellent topic on antibiotic therapy and true "stewardship". As technology improves or are disproved, then we too must update and change. Life long learning. The vegetarian option I chose was asparagus and brussel sprouts. Both tasted great. The creme brulee was delicious. And the Pino Noir and Malbec were delicious. The crab dip on pita was also on point. Thank you HIC AACN for bringing it all together.

Trevor Bathel

Nico's was recommended to us by several locals. The food was great but we felt rushed by our server. We observed they do try to get quick turnover.

Denis Crowder

A little out of the way but a good place for an inexpensive breakfast.

Jon Cannella

Food good. Ambiance amazing. Server horrible, hostess horrible

wesley ong

Fish and chips,. Crab cake salad and sashimi were excellent

Johndera Wheeler

We went late in the evening, we were seated at our table quickly. Service was friendly, quick and professional. Our meals did not disappoint! The view was from our table was an interesting view of a pier that appeared to be mostly for cargo ships.

Debbie Jackson

I had to save half my lunch for th he next day. Good food!

Devin Taylor

This is hands down one of the best restaurants to go to if you're looking for good food. It was definitely worth every penny. The atmosphere was excellent, especially the night time harbor was a great view. With the addition of the live music they had playing that night it really made it a great place. Definitely will be back in the future.

Israel Bitran

As a merchant marine i get to see a lot of ports this one is one of the most nice.

George Mavridis

Amazing place with a great view of the pier. I ordered the catch of the day being the Mahi Mahi with tossed salad and brown rice. The fish was broiled to the way I ordered, the salad was just tossed Romane lettuce which was crispy and fresh and the rice was cooked just right not too dry. There was no service but the people were nice. Nothing to complain about this place. Will highly recommend.

Lisa K Maples

Service was awesome. Prices were appropriate.

Robert Knives

Ahi sandwich was delicious Aatmosphere was tremendous nice views of the docs while you eat

Tiffany Boonvisate

This place knows how to do fish and chips !!! I am never disappointed with the food here they always make the best fish and calamari!

Angie Smith

Always an awesome time! Good food, good music, good service, good atmosphere!

Brian Takara

The furikake ahi is best. The ambiance and the price are good also

Luna Salaver

Excellent fresh fish, sashimi and poke options.

Carol Miyasato

Host Makalii was so friendly and welcoming. The girls at the counter were a little curt and in my opinion too businesslike to greet customers. In fact, I saw a young Japanese couple leave after they tried to get service and the girls kept on talking story. Food was delicious. Planning my next family's Celebration there

Kirsti Grafiada

The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The fish market is the best on island, freshly caught and prepared. The staff work so hard, very clean. And always welcome you with a smile. Highly recommend. If I could give 10 stars I would!

D Reynolds Sr

Great food, friendly service, nice view

TY Y.

Such an awesome staff at this hidden spot. The service and dishes we had were top notch! We came here for our honeymoon and it was the perfect, most romantic restaurant with live music.

Alon Coret

Disappointing menu options (don’t bother if you’re vegetarian/vegan), with poorly cooked and cold food and apathetic wait staff. Management team completely unreasonable when our group asked to split our bills, and refused to eliminate 18% automatic gratuity despite seating us at separate tables. Best to avoid — might find a nearby gas station with better offerings.

Matt Peterson

Service was amazing, along with the food. The fillet was cooked well but I barely had room after knocking out two bowls of poke and sharing almost three dozen oysters. Excellent view of the water from the dining area!

Kylez McGee

Went with family for lunch, we didn't have to wait long to order or get our food. The food is good. We been there once before, still great service.

Graeme Morris

So fresh, so good! Worth every penny. Order the swordfish! Also if you are careful you can find Nemo and Dori just off the pier.

christopher Blas

Been there for lunch and dinner service, up stairs and down there is a clear difference in atmosphere and menu with both. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about menu items, price is fair and food taste great. Downs stairs is casual, up stairs is a bit more up scale and has a bar but you can still dress casual.

Debbi Fabiani

Get a table then order at the bar or at the entry cashier & pick up your food when it's ready. Our food & beer were delicious! The outside patio has umbrellas to provide shade & overlooks local commercial fishing boats, fish markets & other restaurants. We took dessert home to eat later.

Lacey Roe

We absolutely love this place! Great food and drinks with an awesome atmosphere!

Ari Matsumura

Love the staff, love the atmosphere, love the poke bowls and every menu item that I've tried. Sometimes, I'm even lucky enough to arrive when they have live local music playing. Gotta have a chocolate chip cookie.... So so yummy!!

david danner

Food was very very tasty. Poke salad cooked more than we thought. Had to order and pick up your own meal. Had to clean off your own table - before sitting down as not enough staff. Otherwise this could have been 5 stars.

GARRET HINO

Great food and beautiful view...service was awesome too!

Tina Au

The style of eating here is order and sit where you want. Sometimes it can be super busy. It use to be the type of place you sit and order. But now its different. Last time we went the line in the front gets super crowded. There is another order section near the back where the kitchen is. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was definitely fresh. The fries were okay. And the coke zero didnt taste like coke zero. Will go here for fresh fish...but not all the time.

Amy Brown

Gourmet taste at local prices. You can't leave Hawaii without eating their fabulous tasting fish. I especially like the furikaki ahi (coated with delicious seasoning), and ask that it be cooked with no 'red' showing, but not overcooked. Open 7 days a week. No reservations. Just show up for fish!

Joe Hoang

What a great place! Def venture out of mainstream Waikiki and enjoy this awesome place! Staff were attentive and helpful. Meals came in great time and we were seated by Waterview with great band!

Paulette Maya

Very dissapointed. Heard from some locals it was a great place to go for a Seafood meal. Well maybe for an okay Seafood meal. Not much of a selection to me. Had better. Won't return.

Andrew Perrella

Our group of 9 was seated at two different tables (understandable) yet still charged a grotesque 18% gratuity fee for “parties of 8 or more.” Our response of “at two tables, how are we different than two different groups of patrons?” was met with frank bewilderment. Then they eventually agreed. Our bill arrived undivided, and with an 18% gratuity. We iterated our point. Our bills returned as individual bills, still with an 18% gratuity. Confusing. Food was whelming. Waiter appeared listless. Manager ineffectual.

M jay Hilano

Nico's pier located along Nimitz highway. A first timer. Easy to locate. Ample parking. Restaurant located on the 2nd floor. Spacious, clean good ambience. Tastefully decorated. Great staff. They have a small private area where you can have a private event. TV screen and mic/sound system provided in the room. Food - something to talk about. Ordered from a preset menu. Appetizer of crab and artichoke dip was good, also the ceasar salad (just needed a bit more dressing) ribeye steak and creme brulee. Portion size - good. Now the entree story: Ribeye steak was so so. Menu said it was aged but it tasted average. Also kinda tough when I was slicing my meat. Need to chew extra hard. I'm really not so sure what they are known for - definitely not the meat part - I should have followed my gut and ordered the fish entree or vegetarian- could have enjoyed it more.

Maggie Mc Connell

Great food!!! Sat out on the patio. Great lunch experience

Grayson

Amazing fresh fish and food. This place is a definite stop for anyone that wants some good fish. They also have a great fish market attached. I feel in love with this place years ago and I have to go everytime I come to Hawaii. Open air and a look off the pier as you eat yum!

Marissa Schmidt

I can’t rave about this place enough!! My boyfriend and I came here for dinner for our last night in Oahu and it was such a wonderful experience. The restaurant is tucked away and right by the pier, the service was very fast and friendly, the pesto chicken Caesar salad was EXCELLENT. The fish and chips were bomb too especially with the dipping ginger/garlic/cilantro sauce. Also, the mango passion fruit cheesecake is to die for. Seriously the best meal we’ve had in a while. All reasonably priced too

Easter worshipper

The front entrance needs an awning. Late afternoon sun blinds the hostess desk. No reservations. The location is excellent. The food is just fair.

Karisma Alama Mokofisi

Wasn't too impressed especially since this was my first time dining here. Shrimp scampi was bland, no garlic bread comes with meal. So you have to order it as a side dish for an extra fee. Tiramisu taste like sponge cake. Two stars is being generous because the live musician was the only thing entertaining about our night at Nico's.

Dave Stephenson

So maybe they get three stars but I did not hang around long enough to be sure When asked where I wanted to sit, I said somewhere where I can see the water I was taken to a table near the window but the shades were pulled all the way down. I was promised they would be going up any minute now. They never did. My view was a green metal screen. So I ordered the bouillabaisse, a salad, and a drink. The soup was good. The drink was ok. The salad was a salad. The service was fast, at first, then distant. I am afraid they have bought into their own press. Whatever, it is not what they were advertised to be. It’s a tourist trap with good soup. As far as I can tell, it’s nothing more. Too bad

Morgun Somerset

The ordering and seating situation can be a bit confusing and overwhelming, especially if it's busy. There should be more signs and paper menus available so customers aren't as confused. We went on a Saturday afternoon, so it was slightly busy but there were still a lot of tables open. I believe a tour bus comes through this area so some times may be busier than others.

Philip Mondy

If you love fish or even just on the fence about fish, check this place out! I used to highly dislike seafood because of that "fishy" taste that usually comes with "old" fish. This place gets all it's fish fresh so I never get that taste and this place single handedly got me eating fish again. Parking can be quite a hassle but it's worth it. Check out the marketplace if you want poke.

Jeff Dolder

Great place to have a seafood meal. Funny thing is they have one of the best hamburgers on Oahu. The poke store on the side of the restaurant is fantastic such a great variety to choose from. Best buy a 1/4 or 1/2 lb size so you can try a lot of their different types. Just a wonderful place to kick back have some pupus and a beer listen to some live music and end the day.

Robert P.

This review is for Nicos Upstairs. I decided to give it a try. My first clue was that they don’t have the same happy hour menu as downstairs. No Ahi belly bites that I usually get downstairs which are amazing by the way. Ordered the poke, didn’t come with rice so I asked for a scoop of rice. I should have asked the price on that one scoop. $3 for a scoop of plain white rice..... never again. Downstairs Nikos only for me.

Matthew Shiroma

Luncheon for a family group in their banquet room. Excellent buffet lunch & service. Microphone & sound system a nice touch.

Thu Nguyen

Fish servings were fresh. Sauces were flavorful. Offerings somewhat limited. Crab dip and octopus appertisers we're excellent. Most special part of our experience was singer/guitarist honoring our special request. He made our experience at Nico's upstairs June 9 dinner wonderful.

Michael Gasparik

What a disappointment. First of all, food was bad. Second, if you’re going to be claiming you’re a fresh local seafood place boasting line caught tuna why would you have everyone use styrofoam boxes and plastic utensils for all of their food?

John Maxson

There was no wait early Saturday evening, which was good. My wife and I split a chicken Caesar salad, and I had the furikake ahi, and then we split a slice of mango-passion fruit cheesecake. Everything was delicious. I wholeheartedly recommend the food. That said, it was pricier than I expected, especially considering the decor and table settings. The cups and plates are plastic, and the knife and fork come wrapped in a paper napkin. So, in that regard it is family friendly, but the prices are on the elegant-dining side of affordable. To me, it was more than moderate, given the atmosphere and $$ rating in Maps.

Corey Hilliard

Nico's was really good. It was my first experience and the atmosphere was great. Had the coice of sitting inside or outside. The menu was short be full of intriguing option. It is a fish house, so most of the dishes are fish based. They have some beef and pork options as well but Fish is king here. The also had some really good pupus(appetizers) as well. Fun and creative hand crafted cocktails for the ladies as well. Definitely going back.

yt89451

Food very good as usual. Atmosphere is a bit rushed. Prices may seem steep, however food quality is pleasantly way beyond competition. I think prices are fine, however I could see how others might find the prices somewhat high. Really one of best fish deals anywhere.

Patricia C

Haven't beef here in years but friend insisted we dine here. The bottom floor is cafeteria style, where you order at the cashier then pick up when the buzzer activated. The poke and Hawaiian plate are ordered at the fish market. The restaurant upstairs require reservations, according to the cashier. Poke tasted fresh and flavored spot on. I got the poke bowl with spicy ahi and ultimate mix (marlin, salmon and ahi in teriyaki sauce. Never had marlin poke before but I would definitely return for it. The spicy ahi has just enough mayo (not drowned in mayo like so many other places, ie foodland). The deep fried onaga was dry and bland, even with the small amount of salsa provided. It didn't look fresh, either. They have a lot but we'd gladly sacrifice quantity for quality. Beef chunks in the beef stew was huge, each about 1.5 x 2“. Personally, I prefer small chunks, which tend to be more tender and less dry. Taste was just ok. 5 stars for the poke and 1 star for the other plates.

Ron Rumbaoa

Great food. Excellent place to meet...if you can get a seat on the outside lanai. Otherwise you can't be heard because of all the people.

soohyun Lim

Ahi Poke, Loco Moco, butter garlic shrimp ! I loved it. The best restaurants.

Kamuela

Awesome Food, Great Music and a Fabulous Staff! If it's just for drinks after work a date or even a night out with the family the atmosphere is perfect. A must go to for the perfect meal!!!!!!!!!! Highly Recommended......

ironmankmf

The atmosphere was great and the food was tasty. Our server definitely could have been better. She seemed to not have any personality and disinterested in providing good customer service.

Christopher Chen

If you look up "dry" in the dictionary, you'll find a picture of the food here next to the definition. Maybe it was an off day, but here is a list of food I would not recommend: -pizza (I've had better from the frozen section) -Ono tacos (which were on the specials since they were...fresh?) -ahi ribs All of the raving reviews brought me here, but I was very disappointed

Bernadette Wilkins

Just slightly higher than a typical plate lunch, but the quality is so much better! If you want to avoid the crowd, go early. I went at 11am and found seats very quickly, but it filled up fast! There were 4 large pieces of deep fried goodness, topped with a diced tomato sauce, for a lack of better words, and it was absolutely amazing! I keep thinking that Nico's is expensive

Luis Zelaya

Guy Fieri approved this place has great local sea food. Live music, patio, drinks. What else could you all for? Poke sampler was amazing, fresh first and great taste. Big wave on tap which I love to see. This place is a must.

Diane Castillo

Affordable price for good food. Pan seared ahi was flavorful. Calamari was soft inside and crunchy outside. Chocolate cake not too sweet which is perfect and was big enough to share. Portion size is generous. Ambience is also good for a date or nice family dinner.

Dale-Lee Harris

The fish is as fresh as you can get and the price is good for the amount of food they give. A great place with great food.

Christine Mayural

Some of the different foods don't have a lot of taste. The latest thing I tried was the fish and chips. And the fish was wonderful. Large peice, well seasoned, very yummy. Who knew.

Tony Seagroves

It is a fantastic-open air-restaurant with live entertainment. The seafood is super fresh. The staff treats you like family.

Ira Rodrigues

Good service. Main dish was mediocre for the price.

Pat Gomes

The food was delicious! The service was great. And our friends from Dallas Texas really enjoyed the food! I'd have rated it 5 stars. But, for some reason it took the longest time to get an ahi salad delivered to our table. All of our other dishes, which I would think took a lot longer to prepare, were first to our table. Other than that, Nico's is a great atmosphere with a wonderful afternoon view and love the tradewinds when the sunshades are opened!

Christian Wilson

Wow, the ambiance was great, food was delicious, cost was low and we were entertained by the Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau! How do you top that?

DaloaHD

Great service and great food

Christopher Lei

Went here with a group of 15ppl. Food was great and excellent service.

Phillip Poston

Best way to start off the vacay, close to the airport. Definitely pick from the specials of the day menu listed on the board next to the restaurant register. While waiting for your meal go to the fish market for the freshest poke to snack on. Delicious!

Mark Sturtevant

I haven't been on the island long, but Nico's has been, by far, the best seafood I have had yet. The garlic Pesto shrimp is excellent, and the catch of the day is always very good!

Enrique H.

This is a must!! Super fresh and tasty food!! Ahí tuna was to die for and so were the fish n chips!

Matthew Walton

Nico's is a wonderful place to come for lunch. There's always a crowd, but they take your order quickly and the food is never far behind. The atmosphere is worth the trip. There's indoor and outdoor seating and everything has a nice casual feel to it. Of course the food is the main reason for visiting. We've never been disappointed by Nico's. Fresh fish is obviously a most have and they have a nice variety of ways it can be prepared. Simply put, you can't go wrong with a trip to Nico's.

Russ Lacuata

Always one of my first stop whenever I'm visiting Honolulu. Great food, fresh and delicious.

keith katz

Amazing!!!!! Customer service and food are 2nd to none. A must if you visit here. Thank you to our server Jay and our manager John!!! You guys rock!!! Recommend the Fisherman’s stew.

Carolina Beltran

Came here for lunch. Very open restaurant live music. Delicious food!! All fresh I had the furikake sesame seed blackened ahi.

Norma Rosalinda Medrano

Love the place. Ordered the ahi ends n the price was worthed...the place was clean n they have good customer service.

Landon Hannaford

Great local seafood, super fresh. Locally style meals. Traffic can suck on nimitz highway but the view is a super cool combination of the industrial piers and water front. Very casual place to eat and full bar to drink at, worth the traffic.

Yorch J

Lacks variety but the food and ambiance is great

Nadiera Sukhraj

Free parking. Don't wait until dinner, the most popular types of fish will be sold out. The lunch menu is just better overall. Easy place to have fresh food and/ or a beer. The service has gone down, staff could use some more training

Paul Whitfield

Fast friendly service. Good size portions. Came for lunch now I want to stay for dinner. Had fish and chips, really nice food.

Steve C

Nice location, food was pretty good too. Fun atmosphere with live music

David Noriega

Great service, awesome food with reasonable prices, we loved it

melanie davis

I tried the fish burger. It was just ok. It was 2 parties, so you get a good amount of fish. But it needed sauce or something, just lacked flavor. The beef stew was decent. Very casual atmosphere. You order at the front, them pick up at the counter when it's ready.

Julie Perry

Very friendly staff and really fresh fish. We enjoyed their catch of the day!

Denise Modglin

This place is always a great idea. We needed a quick "non-fast food" lunch and luckily, Nico's was on our way. The place was packed, but we were able to order quickly, the food came up in just a few minutes, and it was delicious as always. We were in and out in less than 45 minutes. TOTALLY worth stopping for, every time!

Patrick Samuels

What a fantastic, organic find this was for us! Thoroughly enjoys the food that we had here. The service was exceptional, the food was divine. this was really good, one of the few places i enjoyed at in Honolulu.

Len Y

Nice place and nice atmosphere. Lots of parking. Fresh catch cooked to perfection. I just like my sauce a little more flavorful but still worth s trip. Need to try the poke bowl next time.

Seta Montero

After a swim we were searching up local restaurants for a quick lunch, we saw photos on Yelp for basic dining. We didnt know there were two different restaurants, so by mistake we walked into the upstairs part of Nicos, in our swimwear. It was a bit embarrassing as this restaurant is NOT the place to walk in the way we did lol! Nonetheless- the staff treated us like family & the quality of the food was delicious. Loved it! We will definitely come back when we visit again! Thank you for the lovely experience here!

Bec Staples

Unfortunately OVERRATED! All fish we ordered was over cooked and dry. The sit down establishment uses throw away polystyrene packaging- disappointing! When asked why they use throw away packaging that does not break down the reply was ‘we have green plates if requested’ interestingly we were never offered this? I also could not see anyone else with them .. apparently there is a sign that mentions this but interestingly it fell down and was no where to be seen. The atmosphere was lovely and staff okay but a little rushed in approach. We have had much better seafood elsewhere in Honolulu. And really they could use paper plates a at least - for such a money making establishment, or serve on proper crockery using real cutlery that can be washed up. Cost cutting perhaps!

JJ Da Boss

Polite, attentive staff! We had the Seafood Paella, and Chocolate Bread Pudding. Lots of seafood and sausage in the paella! Loved it! Bread Pudding was light and the special nut brittle that came with it was awesome. We also tried the Crab and Artichoke dip starter. Also great! Easy to find location.

Susan Gibson

Seared ahi tuna salad but you order at the counter and pick up. Great seafood

Kapono Nauka

Pretty good food. Fish Loco Moco was awesome. Great service and views

Christina T

Excellent ambience and great tasting dishes. Servers were accommodating and provided good recommendations. There was also a live band and decent view of the dock. Highly recommend the creme brulee cheesecake too!

Allan Jardin

I ordered a ribeye steak and they gave me a new york steak. I brought it to their attention, and still claim its a ribeye...

Aaron Schultz

The place ran out of their Hawaiian plate before 1 pm on a friday...you have to order at the counter ....pick ip your own plate and buss own table and person taking order expected a tip.... i dont think so....very disappointed in staff...... attitude of staff was no better then a McDonald's...

Katie Lewis

The calamari is nicely breaded and has a seasoned dipping sauce. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable - when tasked with finding a cocktail for me he suggested the "Salty Saint". This is hands down now one of my favorite drinks! Don't be afraid of the salted rim. The main courses for dinner were also deliciously on-point as well. We got a steak plate and the crab cake salad.

D Buchholz

Great atmosphere, even better food!

Elizabeth Prince

We had the angry dip with wonton chips, delicious. We had the fried pork belly bites, simply amazing and tender. Braised short ribs were tender and seasoned well but the mashed potatoes were unseasoned and cold. The fisherman's stew was so tasty. Truffle fries not good. Uncooked fries mixed in.

Debra Caracol Person

It's been 2 years since!..great atmosphere. ..service was soso...food was not quite thrilled. Ordered their specialty- Furikake ahi portion was small, very little vegetables, string beans (6) and carrots (3)..for $20 My friend was not too thrilled with his chicken pesto as salad.- dry..maybe it was left over pasta seasoned, my daughter could not eat her macaroni salad.."too sweet"!her swordfish was dry..otherwise don't think I'll be back

Christopher Gardner

A happening place with tasty food. Try the virgin lava flow for dessert.

Jennifer Shailer

AMAZING food and wonderful service. We really wanted some great and reasonably priced seafood and we found it no doubt! A really nice restaurant, newly renovated by the looks of it. The outlook although still subset was a very interesting one and a nice change from palm trees with the ocean liners. The service was impeccable and one of the best of the trip. The food was so fresh and absolutely delicious. Try this out of the touristy area gem!

John K

Nikos was absolutely fantastic! The view is unique seeing the loading docks. The swordfish with garlic potatoes was top-notch!! One of my favorite dishes that I’ve had here in Hawaii and I would eat it again. I also enjoyed the hot lava drink as well as the mango passion cheesecake.

Heraclio P

Great food and view. When you come to Nico’s definitely order a fish dish. The Furikake Ahi and Swordfish are both very good.

James Speight

Fun atmosphere and clean food. The tacos need a bit more spice and it would be 5 stars. I will be back for happy hour. Mahalo

Bridgette

The food was great! The portion sizes were plentiful, and were adequately priced. We sat outside and enjoyed the evening breeze. Great place, would definitely go back.

Lara Osmon

What a hidden gem! Live music, Best hamburgers ever and even Tiramisu to top it off. Reasonable prices for location and atmosphere. Waitresses were awesome and food arrived lightning fast! Highly recommended!

MARISSA PEREZ- SZTORCH

They have a great lunch special menu that changes everyday. What doesn't change is the fact that the seafood is FRESH. We haven't had everything on the menu yet, but everything we've had was yummy. Great ambiance with live music all day and night... and you can't beat the views either. We've been here almost three years now and we always bring our family and friends here.

Danielle Schwantes

Higher end spendier restaurant but good food. We didn't know their was a downstairs to it too a little cheaper til after we left

Lori Ing

The food is unique and tasty. The bartenders are the greatest, especially Mark! Love that they have live music on Fridays! The musicians are so friendly, talented and love to do requests!!!

califero c

Great place to relax, have a beer and have a meal. Service is great and staff is very attentive. Parking could be better but if you don't mind walking a a little, parking is about a block from the restaurant.

manibuka hemenway

This place never disappoint me. no matter what time of the day I got here breakfast lunch and dinner. The fish and chips are dying for the salad nicoise seared furukaki ahi and so much more their beef stew is amazing too.i wish they surve it all day long not just lunch but everything amazing and delicious and the beers and the lychee martini was so good

Brady Nielsen

The freshest fish and huge servings for a great price. A nice, open air setting with plenty of seating and a fantastic view of the harbor. Mac salad and the fish and chips are good recommendations for dishes - the many desserts are fantastic too!

Deb G

Delicious marlin in the fish and chips. Great view. We also visited the fish auction at 530am right at pier 38.

James Turturro

This place is consistently great. Fantastic food and drinks. I have met some of the most interesting people here every time I visit. I would highly recommend eating here.

Jeff Ilardi

This is a favorite of mine, always good food and good service. They also have a decent beer list, nothing enormous, but enough. Hint, go to the bar to see what they have on tap, because the menu is not always up to date. My big issue was we had 11people in 4 different groups. And they would not split up the check. This policy is on their website and they are very up front about it at the restaurant. But this means everyone better bring cash or it gets tricky trying to split up payment among yourselves, or you have one very generous party pay for everyone. Which is unrealistic. I wish they would change this policy. I will not come back with a large group again, we will go someplace else.

Jonathan Thoennes

Great atmosphere, great happy hour drink prices. Great date night.

Trash Talker

Table side Poke is great. Ambiance is beautiful. Enjoyed listening to the guitarist.

Allen Yeh

With as many times this place was recommended we found it to be very underwhelming. The poke was OK but we had better at many other places before and after this. The pizza was MEH, I've had better frozen pizza.

Mixed feelings on this place. It’s a takeout style except you can sit down and eat it in the restaurant. The food is ok. They advertise the fries as “thick cut garlic fries” which is not true. The fries are just your average joe frozen fries. Not a bad place if you’re in the area but it is very overhyped. Don’t have your hopes up. Peace up A town.

We had a great meal today when we checked out this restaurant! We both ordered the Swordfish and were not disappointed! The server was attentive and kind. We loved the view from the pier!

Totally worth the trip to Pier 38. As seen on TripleD ... great food in a relaxed cafeteria style atmosphere. They often have live music too! Nico's is a must whenever we are on Oahu.

Michael Turman

Love this place. Always busy and always good food.

Steve Shapiro

Good good and a nice atmosphere. I had the fish burger and it was good, but not great. Seafood is fresh and the poke is great.

Richard Elledge

Very popular spot! The seafood is great. It's a cafeteria style atmosphere located next to a marina. Outside seating is my favorite. Dog friendly too!

Jed Nesmith

Great lunch spot with a cool vibe. I had the seared ahi and enjoyed it.

James Castaldi

Wonderful location on the water. Delicious food and great people.

Becky Dyster

Great space, our seafood was well prepared and fresh. Prices were extremely reasonable. We felt lucky to find Nico's on our way to the airport.

This is a nice restaurant for a laid back lunch or dinner. The menu has many local favorites (ahi poke salad) and a pretty good variety, although it centers around seafood. At lunch you order and then sit until your number is called; at dinner they seat you and take your order. There is indoor and outdoor seating and it does get full at lunchtime. They also have delicious desserts. There is lots of parking at the end of the building near Nimitz, we usually park and walk the 2 minutes to the end.

Loved this place! Went for dinner ands had their Poke for an appetizer and ordered the Ahi and Swordfish meal. Everything was perfect. They had live entertainment which made for a pleasant atmosphere and when it got dark the tiki torches were lit creating a nice ambiance. Great family, date night or just hanging with friends kind of place.

Victor Patrick

We had swordfish tacos and they were good.

Lynda Barry

Good food, good service and good value.

Stacy Squazza

My go to spot everytime! Food is always great here. Highly reccomended!

Jennifer Harris

Great restaurant but it’s crazy at lunch time. If you want a more relaxed environment go at dinner, but if you want to enjoy the high quality food at a bargain price head in at lunch for counter service with tons of people. The view is still cool, the food amazing and the prices a bit better. This place at night is hard to beat though.

Gade Hayes

Effing delicious and fresh seafood. Outdoor patio seating makes this a terrific night out.

Sanjeet Bhoola

Absolutely a must do if you are able to. Fresh seafood at the pier. Everything from the appetizers to the main course exceeded our expectations. I would definitely go back next time we are in town.

Joe Lizik

Went here for some after dinner drinks. The atmosphere was fun and the view of the harbor was nice during sunset. The staff was friendly and the drinks were good. Did not try any of the food but what we saw and smelt was good. Would come back again for drink for sure.

Colton Crist

If you enjoy fresh seafood. This is a very good place to go. During lunch hour seating is limited but since most their items are served convenient to go packaging there is seating outside. They had live music and a bar in the center which typically had open chairs

Lori McGrath

We started out with the Calamari, it was delicious! Then for dinner we had the "Special" catch of the day, which was swordfish, (my favorite), and shrimp scampi. They were both fabulous! Super fresh! Our server was wonderful, so attentive and nice. A great place to eat!

Alex Lopez

This place has amazing food and a view to go with it. A must try for anyone who enjoys fresh seafood. Like this coconut crusted Opah in some curry lobster sauce.

Ying Li

Nice cafeteria style restaurant with real fresh fish steaks and other varieties. Fairly inexpensive.

Adam Truong

Nice place. Would give props to the atmosphere, being so close up to the pier. Birds galore and the food was decent. Parking is a bit hard but it's worth it for the nice cheap meal. Careful of going upstairs and ending up in their high scale restaurant.

Jessica Lieber

The poke was amazing. Great seafood! I had soft shell crab tacos, yum!

Quincy Israel

Food was cool. Not particularly impressed with the flavor but drinks were good... had the lobster with paella-esque rice. Tasted some of a friend's catch-of-the-day with sauce and it was amazing, so there are some great tastes here.

Jim Tittsler

A little out of the way, but an excellent lunch destination. A large, open-air dining area. Can pick up some poke at the adjacent shop and then order entrees from the counter.
