Last week was the second time I have catered food for a family reunion at Star Island Resort. I was extremely satisfied with the quality of all the food as were our 50 guests .... both times. The food arrived on time and hot! Everyone went back for seconds... even the children. This is no easy crowd since most of them have enjoyed Mama's Puerto Rican cuisine since childhood. We have also eaten in house and were equally please . I like the expansion since were were last there two years ago and my wife ... who always checks the restrooms first as an indicator of cleanliness ... remarked that you could eat off the floor. I would highly recommend this establishment for both eat-in and catering. Keep up the good work. Jim O'Brien

The food was amazing! The mofongo was probably the best I've had, It was delicious. The rice with gandules was amazing, it tastes just like my grandma's. This place is deceiving as it's just a big open area with a bunch of tables. You know the food is good when people are consistently coming in. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

The service was great and the food was authentic (food made to order so had to wait a bit, but well worth it). The monfongo had a great consistency and the chicken was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The sauce for wasn't too oily and proper light viscosity to top the mofongo. The atmosphere was a little loud but it's a family restaurant and not upscale so it's to be expected. No complaints at all. If your looking for authentic PR dishes this is where you need to be.

Absolutely awesome and worth it. Portions are large and service is quality. Atmosphere is good as well, with lots of Puerto Rican women. Drink selection is limited, with no soft drink machine, instead everything is canned or bottled. This will become a permanent staple when we visit.

Being a busy Saturday night, we only waited about 10 minutes for a table. We were starving after having visited an area theme park. This food delivered in every way, taste, portion, and great price. The place is loud, music is on point and the Medalla beers are ice cold and pair perfectly with the mofongo. The tres leche cake we brought home was also just as tasty. Great local spot if you’re in the area. This will be a return spot for us. ❤️

I say this with much passion: THE IS THE BEST MOFONGO SPOT EVER! I’m Puerto Rican and I’m always on the hunt for the best mofongo. This places beats even the places I’ve been to in Puerto rico. I’ve been here many time and the food always taste amazing and the same. The amount of food they serve for the prices as well is unbeatable. I pray that this business thrives and they can open more locations, especially closer to me in east Orlando. For now though, they are worth the drive ❤️

Went there yesterday and the Mofongo was horrible. No garlic flavor whatsoever, it tasted burn and sweet. I let the waitress know and didn’t care. Last time this place will be visited from us. Probably the cook was somebody else, because food didn’t tasted like before.

This place has got it right. It is clean, friendly, and the food is fresh and delicious. The Mofongo is perhaps the best I've tried in central Florida. It left me craving for more the following day. With Puerto Rican food one must be careful to add the right about of salt without over salting and they have accomplished it. I liked that the food was made to order. The prices were fair and the staff was organized and expeditiously on time. I rarely give five stars but they definitely earned it. I will drive in terrible Orlando i4 traffic to eat there again!

Worst ever. Almost had to clean a table to get seated. Plus 15 min standing on the door and no one said nothing. After getting a table no one came to us in 10 more minutes. So had to wait. I walk away and no one didn’t care. It’s a huge mess. It’s a small menu for buffet and you can’t pick up a plate and self serve your self,You have to wait for someone to serve you and the good food is charged cause it’s not part of the buffet. Good luck there.

The food was really good, 10 out of 10... However they insisted in over charging for the food. Charging double items and when we brought it to their attention they insisted that they gave us what we ordered and didn't wanted to reimburse the balance. I was giving a good tip and at the end it's unfortunate because they weren't professional about it. At the end you did get reimbursed only because to pay more than what we purchased.

Speaking of great food at amazing prices! This place may not seem appealing from the outside, but once you see the line of people waiting for a table, you know you’re in for a treat. Whether you get the food from the menu or the buffet, the food is fresh, delicious and will leave you very satisfied. I place an order it took more the 30 min To make .look close to your bill . My order was for takeout I put no tip for the Delay,and they charged me for it anyway. Good thing I got my cell phone alert. I showed to the lady that charge for it . $5.32 tip .”no that had to be my bank” please lady you have to earn your tip at list . All most $40 bucks for 2 very small plates of food of mofongo and chicharones don’t forget you are very fare out side of Disney’s park’s

This was one of the best mofongo's I've ever had! I would highly recommend stopping in, there are so many choices! We had a party of nine and they were able to seat us quickly. The bathrooms are clean and there is a changing table for babies. Our waitress spoke both English and Spanish and was extremely helpful! The portion size is large and I enjoyed every bite!

We just went for the mofongo... it was good, the best around. The way mofongo should be done. The right portion for the right price. Nice presentation. It wasn't hollow inside, like others...you know what I mean and why... My wittres was very nice and others also came by to make sure the service was right. The place is poor on decor, but easy on the eye. The only thing we didn't like was the noise, seems like the restaurant is missing acoustic insulation. It's was hard to hear each other across the table. Definitely we will come back for the food.

Just our experience but we believe we where deffinately over charged how is it we ordered 1 plate of arroz con gandules with beef steak & 1 juice of parcha & where charged 15.00 my brother in law ordered the same plus his wife ordered a plate of arroz con gandules with chicken & they where only charged 19.00 the food was not bad but a little overpriced & little disorganized perhaps cause they where super buzy which is a good thing .

This place is horrible. The food is average. The customer service is despicable. The owner and the manager were not available to talk to about the bad service. Only the cashier whose name I think is Sherly was there. She had a horrendous bad attitude and some kind of "I don't care" approach towards customer complaining about bad service of one waitress rolling her eyes over obtaining sitting for my family. Adding insult to injury by delaying my service like she didn't care at all. The place doesn't look very hygienic as you can see in my pictures. This coupled with the bad service bad, bad, bad. They probably got a decent review from friends and family, but if you go there expect bad attitudes and horrible customer service. You ask for the owner and they don't give you the ability to reach him or her. I would change my review if there was a way to reach the owner. The employees don't even give you the name of the owner, who I see is very active here in other reviews. Let's see how truthful they are, if he makes himself available after my review.

Loved, loved this restaurant. Was going to just get a sandwich but when I saw the food on the buffet menu, the sandwich went out the window. There was food there that I haven't had since living in New York absolutely delicious. Also we had a party of almost 40 adults & children & they accommodated us with only an hour & a half of lead time. Thank you staff you made the finale of our family reunion wonderful. From the outside it looks quiet and not so busy. When you go inside it is amazingly packed. That tells me that food is that good. The servers are very nice and besides the remodeling it has a pleasant feel to it.
