We went for a late lunch. The service was very friendly, the food came quickly and was delicious. I had the fried conch basket and my husband had the coconut shrimp and grilled chicken sandwich. He said both were great! Glad we stopped.

Worst Restaurant on the Keys. This has been one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to. The food was not fresh and they fry everything together the fish, fries and shellfish all in the same oil for everyone. I have a shell fish allergy and had an allergic reaction because they use the same oil for everything. Also my wife ordered fish and it was raw. Please don’t waste your time and money, there are better options nearby. La Niña much better option.

I would have rated them higher but I can't understand why they dont serve black beans with their yellow rice? When I asked they just didn't want to. So much for my 80 dollar lunches. Delicious food at a great price in a cute fish market/restaurant and super friendly staff! Definitely stop in and try some of the incredibly fresh seafood. It's nice to have lots of options that aren't the traditional deep fried everything. I'd been looking for conch that wasn't breaded, since I wanted to try it, and found multiple options here. Would definitely recommend! It looks a little off-putting on the outside on the side of the 1, but is delicious and super comfy inside.

This restaurant is a health hazard. We ordered two mahi mahi fish baskets later to find out they fried the fish,shrimp, chicken & fries all in the same oil. My husband has a shellfish allergy and had an allergic reactions. The food was not fresh. I ordered a linguine with mahi mahi and it arrived cold and the fish was completely raw and tasted slimey. The owner at the pay station was rude and basically wanted to blame us for their bad service. Needless to say save your time and money and go somewhere else.

Stopped by for lunch in our way from Key West. It’s right on hwy1 which was convenient. We both had the fish basket. There is a generous portion of tasty hot fries, good creamy cole slaw, and the mahi mahi was really tasty. Restaurant is clean and although it’s attached to a fish market, no fishy smells! Give it a try.

First and foremost, this is a fish market, with a small restaurant on the side. One would expect good, local seafood. The coconut shrimp were nothing more than the frozen ones found at any grocery store. The conch fritters were all bread, with very little conch in them. The grouper soup was good, but did not have chunks of fish, bit rather ground up fish in very small bits, with a lot of rice. I expected more. Won't be back.

This place is a hidden gem in Marathon Key. It provides not only excellent food, but also a great value in comparison to various other competitors in the area. I recommend the Linguini from the specialities, it’s loaded with delicious and fresh clams, mussels, and shrimp. The Grouper soup is also a great addition before any meal. Overall I would say the combination of freshness and value are extremely hard to beat. I have attached a couple of pictures from my recent lunch, I believe they speak for themselves.

I don't like seafood! My friends told me if I was going to the keys..I should try seafood while there..My husband brought me to the keys and made sure the seafood was fresh, local caught. He ordered me a mahi mahi fried sandwich. I gingerly tasted a small bite..nothing fishy going on here! I enjoyed the sandwich..on a toasted bun with lettuce, tomato, red onion and mayo, alongside an order of onion rings. Cole slaw had a hint of lime, which I also liked. My husband enjoyed fried shrimp basket..said it was excellent!

We stayed for the first time in Key Colony so we didn’t know of any local place. We googled restaurants near by and came across this one. After reading reviews, we decided to go. The food was AMAZING. We had a large party so ordering at register made it easier. The food came out quickly and hot. Staff was amazing. Lady/owner at the register was very courteous and you can tell she took a lot of pride when informing us of quality and the amount of food served. Places like these are important to support. Local owners who strive to please! Will be back in a heartbeat!!!

This is the BEST place we've eaten at while in the Keys! We had the Coconut Shrimp, Crab Cakes, Smoked Fish Spread with crackers, and the mahimahi fish basket. It's obvious to the pallette, that the food is freshly caught and the prices are SO reasonable.

The food was good/average. Hubby got a Cuban sandwich that he described as "good, large, lots of meat, good flavor". I got the blackened shrimp sandwich and it was about a cup of very tasty blackened shrimp on a plain cold roll with lettuce, tomato and onions. I ate the shrimp and left everything else. Got a side of sweet plantains that were fantastic. Got crab cakes for my daughter and we had to send one back since it was all breading (but the replacement was fine). The ambiance was strange, it's a cross between a diner and a fish market, and it's dark even during the day. We walked in and were seated with menus, but then the waitress came back to our table to say we had to walk back up to the front to order. You order, then pay, then go sit back down and they bring the food. Odd. Maybe it makes sense when it's busier? Overall it was fine, but I probably won't go back. Brutus Seafood up the street is better IMO.

Definitely a Cuban dining facility..... As long as you know that.....all else is great. The fish was great, we had mahi mahi and Shrimp dishes, served quickly and complete. Cuban coffee (no American coffee). Service attentive and top notch. Our server had some English language challenges... But I would request one of her tables again! Infact, she was the only server for the whole place for lunch and handled everything for all of us diners well! This is not fine dining. But, we did not have to pay fine dining prices either. If you visit Marathon Key....give King a try!!

Stopped here on the way back from Key West, and it was awesome! Easy access off of U.S. 1, reasonable prices for fresh seafood, and a cool atmosphere! The shrimp were perfectly fried and the sandwich was a nice break from all the over-the-top sophisticated sea food in the Keys. Simple, but delicious! Everything is fresh caught, and the market portion sells fresh seafood to take home. All in all, a great choice when you're down this way!

Saw all the good reviews and some that weren't so great so I decided I'd try it out. Brought my family here to eat, we are visiting for a week in the Keys. I thought the prices were okay at first but then when we got the food the amount of food that we received was disappointing. They claim jumbo shrimp...these are not jumbo. The chicken fried basket was literally small chunks of chicken fried. Not enough for an adult at all. The Cuban was big but very very bland. The woman at the counter was nice but really faked it where as the waitress was extremely nice. We will not return, just wasn't that great especially for the price.

KING SEAFOOD REMINDED US WHAT GOOD SHRIMP TASTES LIKE!! After a REALLY bad experience in Key West at the Eaton Street Seafood Restaurant paying $17 for FLAT, BADLY BREADED AND CRAZY DRY Shrimp...we needed our pallets to be brought back! King Seafood was nothing fancy, but for $10 we had their Fried Shrimp Basket and they were battered well and VERY juicy...DEFINITELY worth the stop!! We also had their handmade Onion Rings...pretty good! Would definitely recommend stopping if you are going through Marathon!!

Phenomenal dining experience! Located directly on overseas highway. Modest decorations of netting, buoys, and saltwater gamefish. The staff is friendly, upbeat, and willing to answer questions in detail. The portions are amazing for the price. The seafood soup is delicious and has a large variety of things in it. It is so flavorful with the right amount of spices, so that it does not mask the seafood itself. For a main course, the Minuta fish sandwich was authentic and a must try. It is butterflied and fried with the skin and tail left on. It is boneless, so no worries while consuming. Since visiting the keys, Key Lime pie is a must. They offer it chilled or fried. Having it fried was a new experience and simply amazing. The key lime taste is not faded out by having it fried. Bottom line, this is an inexpensive and excellent way to try a variety of seafood. Stop in and see for yourself.

This was a delightful dining experience. The establishment is as much a fish market as a restaurant, and the freshness shows. I had a grilled snapper sandwich; the snapper was absolutely perfect and full of flavor. I ordered a side of sweet plantains, and they were perfect too. Others with me enjoyed a grilled mahi mahi sandwich, and a yellow rich bowl with conch, which was amazing. The staff is super friendly. Don't skip this one of you're in Marathon.

We ended up here when we tried to go to a different seafood restaurant which was closed, and while we probably wouldn't have chosen this one on our own we sure did have a good meal. Fried key west shrimp, a Cuban sandwich featuring a batter-fried whole de-boned snapper, the fish soup and the Chicken Alfredo were all absolutely delicious. If you're looking for a casual location offering traditional seafood-shack grub with a Latin American kick, friendly if a bit sassy service and fabulous people watching, this is the place for you.

I was not pleased with this place. Food was bland and way overpriced even for the Keys.

Awesome seafood. You order when you walk in which I thought was a little quirky and you seated yourself at booths with beautiful wood tops. It is also a seafood market. Grouper soup was very good, nicely spiced. My 2 friends ordered grilled grouper and mahi and they both enjoyed them. I ordered blackened snapper worried the blackened mix would be salty. It wasn't! I especially enjoyed the snapper . We will definitely return, OFTEN

We are so disappointed, last day of vacation, we got really sick eating conch fritters. That's all we ordered, and all I had all day, my entire family got sick, be aware please, we dont want same to happen to you. Not a fresh seafood market!☹

Fish, fried shrimp, calamari, and stuffed plantains were all good and reasonably priced for the portions. Key lime pie was overly sweet with little lime flavor.
