Made a recent trip to the Keys and stopped in this spot on our way down to Key West. Great locals spot with all of what you'd want from a Keys menu and at very reasonable prices! I had the Lemon Pepper Mahi sandwich and my wife had the coconut shrimp, both were fantastic, but the best part was the homemade key lime pie!! Just the right combo of sweet and tart mmmmmm Totally worth the stop if you're ever in Marathon, just bummed they were closed we when drove back north on Sunday.. but we will be back here again for sure!

My husband had the grilled mahi mahi and it was was cooked perfectly! The staff was friendly, welcoming and service was shockingly fast. I was very excited they had authentic German food on the menu and it was So good. This place is affordable and a great little place to stop by while in the keys. Located in Marathon Fl.

Who writes these reviews? This place is a dump. I ordered what they claimed to be conch chowder. Really bad. Ordered fish dip. Came with saltine crackers. The dolphin sandwich was average to below average. Little slice of tomato and teeny bit of lettuce. I've eaten at some of the restaurants that are 4.4 rated and they were very good. Maybe this place was good at one time. Felt bad for our waitress. Nice girl and very attentive. She can't help the food. Find a new place to work so you can make some tips.

Great food and great prices! We ordered the mesquite marinated wahoo (daily special) and it was some of the best grilled fish we've ever eaten. The key lime pie was equally delicious.

I have lived in Marathon for a year and heard talk of Fish Tales but when you drive by it just isn't something that would pull you in. Well, Get pulled in. The Fish is fresh as you can get. I had Grouper Fingers and My wife had the Fish Burrito. I ate mine then devoured half of her meal. The Burrito is simply amazing. The staff is all friendly, The Coleslaw was fresh. I would have gone 5 Stars but the Stone Crab Chowder was slightly warm at best. although, the taste was very good!

I had the fried scallops for lunch today. The coating was very light and they were cooked to perfection. The best scallops I've had in a long time. The black beans and rice were very tasty and the cole slaw was excellent. Fast and friendly service from start to finish.

Best stonecrab chowder and grouper sandwich I'v ever had in 35 years, visiting all over Florida. They'll cook your fresh catch after fishing. This is where the locals go! Come in shorts.

Blackened fish sandwich was good. Fish tacos good. Fries good. Coleslaw very good. Service good. Took off one star because the lobster bisque tasted like it had an excess of celery and was watery (I was looking forward to a creamier version, but in all fairness everyone puts their own twist on it). Also, in my opinion the price was on the high side for a casual lunch platters. 2 lunch items and 2 fountain drinks for $40. Would definitely try it again & recommend because the staff was very welcoming.

I have friends in Marathon. When we come to visit, I always look forward to the places they want to take us. This place was fantastic. Try the German fried fish sandwich. You will not be disappointed. We also bought a key lime pie to take home. To quote Jim Ross, by gawd it's delicious.

Fresh fish and good simple food. The interior of the place has a nice feel. A feel of old times with life. The fish is extremely fresh. The grouper fingers are very good. I rarely had fried fingers of groupers (though it is rather large fingers) but these are perfectly cooked with very fresh fish. It is truly delicious. The service is nice and prompt. A no thrill but excellent place.

Where the locals eat. The food is great. The service is friendly. Everyone there is pleasant and seems to enjoy what they are doing. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. My husband had the fried shrimp plate. I had the grilled Mahi sandwich. I appreciate the option to have a gluten-free bun for my sandwich. Also, the restaurant was cool. (The novelty of outdoor dining had paled and we wanted to eat good food in air conditioned comfort.) We enjoyed our lunch at Fish Tales Market and Eatery and recommend it.

Great food in a tiny iconic roadside restaurant. My wife and I had a nice dinner here. Cheery friendly staff with a fairly comprehensive menu of FRIED fish entrees among other things. But we came for the fish. I had the the fried scallops plater with mashed potatoes with gravy. When I say fried let me say that this was a delectable light batter kind of coating that was very delicious to the palette. My wife's fried oyster plater had the same batter coating that she really liked. I took one star off because most everything had to be ordered fried with little recourse to any other kind of cooking preparation accept in a very limited menu choice. That and I believed our entrees to be slightly overpriced for the portions given. But what we ate was excellent. The maple bourbon ice cream cake that filled out our dinner was an extreme guilty please as you might imagine with nice glasses of home made ice tea to wash everything down from beginning to end Great place to eat. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous nice little spot along the road in Marathon island. Full of locals, with a greatly dedicated but unobtrusive service and great quality fish. My friend and I tried the shrimp lasagne and the snapper wrap, respectively, and they were both cooked to perfection and served piping hot. For those that don't fancy fish, they also had lovely pieces of Angus beef on the counter, so presumably their meat dishes are just as good. And to top it off, the cookies (also on the counter) looked really nice too. Our belly was too full to order a mud pie with ice cream, but we did fantasize about sharing one for a bit. All in all, great service and great food, one of the best around Florida in our trip

Yes this is a dive but when you taste the food you won't care that is. The lemon peppered hog fish was so distinctly flavored and delicious. Furthermore they know how to cook Mahi Mahi. Homey and family owned place and the service shows that. Last thing, save room for their dessert, not only do they have a great selection but their key lime pie is among the best in the keys. Best of all, prices are way too low for the quality here but don't mention that, just enjoy it.

We were looking for a fresh local seafood place to eat and these guys nailed it I was impressed with our meals, a type of fish that I wasn't familiar with but had a lime,tomato and avocado salsa that was delicious. Even though it wasn't extremely clean, I enjoyed the cozy locally owned business.
