Captain Mac's had quickly become one of my family's favorite while vacationing in the Delaware/ocmd area! The prices are on the higher end but worth every penny because your paying for freshness. Everything, even fried food, taste clean and fresh. My children (4 and 2) ate their weight in fish in various forms. We will continue to go any chance we get! Environment friendly and accommodating for children and families. Seems like a hidden gem!

Best restaurant in Fenwick area. No table service, but food cooked to perfection. Views of the bay incredible and casual atmosphere make the experience enjoyable. Had softshell crab sandwich and blackened wahoo with crab fries and cucumber tomato salad. Key lime pie pretty good, not excellent. Good beer selection. Also has seafood market for at home cooking.

The owner of this place is genuine and kind. He isn't complicated or fancy, and neither is this restaurant. The seafood is fresh and cooked right before you eat. Seating is arranged in long wooden benches, and has a community feel. Prices are standard, very family friendly, and a beautiful view in the summer.

This is our favorite seafood place in Delaware!! Even my kids ask to go there when we know we are headed to DE!! Very casual atmosphere. Picnic table seating. There is seating on the deck outback with a very pretty view. One suggestion I could make is they need roll down, vinyl windows for on the deck. The day we were there recently it was raining and it really limited the seating outside so we sat inside. There were empty tables that were unusable because of the rain. But, the food is fantastic!! Very fresh and you get a lot for your money!! And the prices are very good for fresh seafood!! We can't wait to go back again next summer!!

There is no calamari in the calamari plate. Just got back from Italy where we had the best seafood. I really thought seafood on the beach would be close. What a joke. Instead of fried calamari, we got fried crumbs and peppers. I would not feed it to my dog.

Excellent fresh fish. The cooked meals are well prepared and served up hot and fresh in a relaxed, informal setting with a beautiful view of th marsh. They will cook your tuna steak as rare as yo want it, though they don't offer wasabi or soy sauce. You can buy fresh seafood to take home and it is all excellent. Their tuna, scallops, and snapper are standouts.

Be warned up front: if you want crabs on a weekend, this is not the place. THEY DO NOT SELL CRABS ON THE WEEKEND! it is on their website but hard to see. After standing in one line only to find they had a separate line for ordering in vs. carry out, we were informed they didn't sell crabs on the weekend. And out the door we went. For the rest, they sell food and beer. There are wooden picnic tables to sit on and eat if you are dining in. No idea how the food is. Unlikely that we will return.

Always a pleasure to drop in on Captain Mac's Fish House when vacationing in Ocean City. Today I had a delicious blackened Mahi sandwich, which was moist and cooked perfectly. It was a large fresh slice accompanied by lettuce and tomato spilling out of the bun. A tangy key lime pie made for a perfect lunch.

Not impressed at all. We traveled to Fenwick Island, DE for a brief vacation. One of the locals we met raved about Captain Macs. He called it the "Locals best kept secret." I couldn't disagree more. My wife and I shared a Captains Platter with a crab cake. The portions were very small. The fish was overdone and salty. The shrimp were overdone and the crab cake was mostly filler. Not worth the price. ($29.95)

First day of our honeymoon we wanted steamed crabs! We split a dozen large crabs. They were very tasty, seasoned well. The only draw back is you have to get your own drinks. So in the middle of dirty hands you have to go back inside for a refill.

Some of the best seafood I've had in a long while. We ordered the fried oysters as a starter, then had the special blackened rockfish, the banging shrimp, crab cakes, and dozen medium sized crabs. It was all to die for. The flavors were amazing, remarkable quality fish, and it was all prepared wonderfully. Plus, the staff were some of the kindest people. They helped us with everything we needed and beyond. If I'm every back in the area, I will definitely be back here.

Love this place for the view and the food is decent. Walk-up seafood market / restaurant. Order your fresh seafood and wait for it to be freshly prepared while sitting on the Bayside deck taking in marsh life... Gorgeous sunsets too! Sides include corn (my fave) on the cob, cuke & tomatoe salad, mediocre coleslaw and the usual fries which BTW are predictably kinda bland. Would love to see them add a side salad and baked potato to up their game.

I can't explain how happy I am that we came across Captain Mac's Fish House! All I can say is this is the BEST seafood in the Ocean City/Fenwick/Bethany/Dewey/Rehoboth area! We've gone to a ton of places and I can't believe we just discovered this place! Amazingly fresh and straight out of the water! We went a little over board bc we wanted to try a lot! The Md crab soup was awesome because it wasn't like eating a salt bowl! Right spice, just enough salt and lots of crab. The flounder both broiled and fried were awesome! You choose the cut of fish and they make it how you want it! The scallops were plump and juicy and even better with the crab cake on top! The corn was fresh and a tad sweet... Straight from the farm! The crab cake had minimal filler and simple as a crab and should be! We will be coming here often! They have fresh fish to go and pre-prepped to go meals, like their famous crab dip! A must go to spot! The staff is the most friendly in the area! They work hard,know their stuff and are so nice!

Friends told us about this place, parking was an issue and it was stand in line, your turn up order, find a table then wait for name called, felt rushed to order since approx 16 people in line behind me, and never saw staff wipe tables off after customers left guess everyone should get a second chance..just not sure Hurry ordering,then waiting,guess with the money spent I'd rather have staff take my order and serve food isn't that why it's a treat to be able to have dinner or lunch out?

The best seafood anywhere! I've loved this place for decades. The crabs are cooked to order which is surprisingly more difficult to find in OC than you would think. But try EVERYTHING at least once if you can tear yourself away from the last dish you absolutely loved. Friends told us about this place recently, so my wife and I tried it out, a scouting party for our friends and family who visit us in O.C. It's a refreshingly different concept, and I really wanted to like it, but... You place your order at the counter and pick it up when it's ready. I knew that going in, but it's handled pretty poorly. There's only one cash register to handle restaurant orders. If there's 10 or 15 people in line, it can take quite a while. I got over that and joined my wife at a picnic table to wait. It took longer than I expected to get the food, but I could live with that. Any issues I had with the ordering process or the wait would have been eradicated by good food. Alas, such was not the case. The fried shrimp platter was a bunch of medium sized shrimp thrown into a fryer - no breading, no seasoning - just bland. The stone crab claws tasted like they'd been defrosted, very watery. The claws were pre-cracked, but not well enough, and I had to go back and ask for something to crack them with. If you don't ask, you don't get. The banging shrimp was very ordinary - plain shrimp dipped in a slightly spicy sauce. And the crab soup tasted like warm water with Old Bay seasoning and some veggies. The corn on the cob shriveled and half was inedible. I won't be bringing people back.

This place is great. A bit small, but it honestly is nice because it gives off a homey and chill vibe. The crabs are great and a good price, and so were the shrimp and also the French fries here. It’s really nice that you can come here and it won’t feel like a real touristy place. Very no-frills, and I’d definitely recommend.

Visited for the first time while vacationing in Ocean City. Captain Mac's sells raw and cooked to order seafood. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant is quaint and very clean. The bay view is beautiful. The young lady who took our order was very helpful. We ordered clam strips, blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich and the soft shell crab sandwich. Everything was exceptionally fresh and absolutely delicious!

First time on the East Coast staying in Ocean City, MD. We were talking with a local couple about some good food and they told us not to miss Captain Mac's. We gave it a shot and forever grateful that we did. Had flounder, shrimp and crab. All outstanding. Nothing compares here on the West Coast to the East Coast seafood, and particularly Captain Mac's. Had the pleasure of meeting Mac and his daughter that was about to head to California for a job. Very pleasant people, excellent food. It's a must if you're ever in the area.

We picked up crab claws, steamed shrimp, crab legs, corn, and Cole slaw. Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced. The place was super busy, but they did a good job quickly taking orders. The parking attendant was helpful, friendly, and appeared to be the happiest man in the world, too, despite no parking spots being open. Hopefully he gets a healthy percentage of the tips. Definitely recommend!

Great service. The views are amazing. Had the shrimp Po' Boy. Really delicious!! They packed a dozen live crabs in a cooler with ice for me to take on a 4 hr drive at no extra charge. The cost of the shrimp was very reasonable and the shrimp was fresh! Can't wait to return. Location was a little tricky to find because the signage is nondescript, but worth the effort. Near residential area, away from the hustle and bustle of Ocean City and touristy areas.

If you come at a busy time, the parking can be a little tricky, but it is worth it! It's a no-nonsense place where you order at the counter and sit at picnic tables, but the food is freshly caught and freshly prepared, which makes it so much better than so many other seafood restaurants in the area! The views outside on the deck are stunning. While we sat and ate (the scallops were prepared perfectly, as was the fresh catch), the owner was walking around talking to everyone. I appreciate a place where that happens - they are invested in your experience! Very much enjoyed the food and the views and will definitely return!
