The Fish Crew is AWESOME! The BEST fish store I have ever been in. The staff is super knowledgeable and the store is spotlessly clean. All the tanks are beyond beautiful. The livestock always looks healthy, and the plants and corals are gorgeous. I purchased a JBJ 45 gallon rimless aquarium from them which is absolutely beautiful. I ended up having a couple of equipment problems but Shari and Matt took care of things immediately! I highly recommend this store to everyone! A++++

Worst local fish store I’ve ever been to. The quality of their freshwater fish are the same as petsmart and petco but 3x the price. Complete waste of money, it’s obvious they don’t even quarantine their new shipment. The staff is extremely pretentious and half of them give out completely wrong advice. They don’t care about the local hobby only the profit they can make. Please don’t waste your money at this place. You’ll have to quarantine the fish anyways so you might as well go to petsmart.

My friends and I love just coming here and looking at the fish, its like a tiny aquarium in there! Plus the people know there stuff and can answer any question you have. They have everything from salt water fish to goldfish and the amount of water plants in there is insane. They have a tiny pest snail problem that we've seen a bit, but its not that big of a deal.

The guys here are super helpful. We just started are tank yesterday!! We are so excited! We wanted to put live plants and fish in the very next day. Jordan one of the employees there informed us on what we should do for a week, so it wouldn't be as hard on the fish. It sucks having to wait but wed rather do that and make it an easier transformation for the fish. Big thank you to the guys there for all the info and recommendations. I recommend this place to people that have had their own tank for a while and people who are new to it. They sure helped us out and they have a wide variety of fish and all the extras for the tank. They even have pre setups for sale. If you are interested in starting your own tank go check them out. You'll be glad you did.

It's nothing personal I really hate fish stores because they are so commercial and have no clue what they have. They just buy from a stock list and sell them. A lady in here tried to tell me that Oscar's are some of the most aggressive fish she has seen.... Lol must not have seen very many monster aggressive species because Oscar's dont even come close. Knowledgeable.... ehhh. Know it all... yes. Lol they have red jewels listed as South American cichlids. Red jewels come from Africa smarties.

Decent selection of livestock and plants but the customer service needs work. I was sold two fish that the employee said would be alright together. One attacked the other non-stop until it's fins we're shredded. I attempted to take them back and reluctantly they did but no money back or discount. It was inside the return period for freshwater fish as well.

My roommates and I went to this lovely store for the first time today. I loved it instantly. The employees were great. They greeted us happily. Every single tank in that store was clean including the plant tanks. The absolute best thing to me though, was that the betta fish were kept in tanks! Not little cups like most shops. They have a great selection of salt water and fresh water fish, aquatic plants, tanks, and fish care items. We bought a happy healthy fish from them today! We will definitely be going back.

This establishment is amazing! The staff is very knowledgeable, the store is clean and the livestock is healthy and beautiful. I have been up and down the Front Range and have never seen a store this beautiful before! The customer service is great and they have backed every purchase I've made. Oh and, they put on some amazing celebrations/sales events with food, contests and prizes! Their massive oval tank in the middle of the store is a show-stopper, you have to see (the sharks are my favorite)! Go and be inspired!

Excellent customer service including water analysis and even just the basics of setting up hobbyist tanks including tanks for kids. Recommended for household or business aquariums. They have helped me a lot since they have opened, including choosing which fish to put in my two live-plant tanks and which fish to put in my non-planted tank. They only want to sell products. They don't care if the products are what you need, or will work for your fish (ie: Fish medication when your fish are sick.) They made it clear they only care about money and not the customer when the general manager blamed ME for purchasing "the wrong fish meds" when I was only purchasing based off the advice of THEIR employees. Not able to return over 80 dollars worth of medication for my 120 gal fish tank. Thanks for nothing you guys- I will never shop here again.

This place is amazing! I was in absolute awe the second I walked through the door. Everything is so beautiful and the girl who helped me was super sweet and so was her dog! There was also a small puppy walking around which made the experience of fish shopping really fun. They have a large tank in the middle with quite interesting and exciting marine life, tons of plants to choose from, and plenty of fish, Freshwater and Saltwater and so much inspiration for setting up your own tanks at home.

We were in there for around 15-20 minutes today. The store was empty apart from two other people and the employees. We heard the employees asking the other customers if they need help but we were never approached. We wanted to buy fish for our 90 gallon tank and find out if they sell an algae killer uv light but we left after we tried to wait to catch one of the employee's attention and after feeling ignored.

Never had anything but a great experience with this store. Never had any unexplained losses of liveetock, and this shop works to actively rehome fish that other stores should have never sold! As someone who actively rescues fish this a huge thing! I have never been in that store and looked in a tank on the show floor and seen anything that made me nervous or upset to buy there! Best shrimp selection in NoCo!

The positives after using these guys for a while. They have quality products and their fish are loads better/prettier than big box stores. However, The more I go in the more I'm driven away. Most staff members are knowledgeable but short sighted, they spout general truths as hard facts. And tell you certain things can and can't be done. I am fine with that most of the times but something like telling me I CAN'T put plants in my tank cause my goldfish will eat them is much different than advising me that my goldfish may eat anything and everything (which mine doesn't touch any of the 6 plant species I have). Also recently ran into a problem where I was misinformed abbot pairing a fish with my other fish. I was told the fish was peaceful and fine in reality after seeing first hand and researching the fish is known for picking on fish that are bigger and slower (goldfish) and when voicing my concern I was told they will take the fish back and will not give a credit for the fish. So they sold me a fish under false information and were willing to take the fish back to resale it, that's dirty business. When asked what they do with the fish I "give" them they never responded.

Both the good things people have said, and the criticisms are true. They have a great selection, and by far the healthiest fish you can buy. We have been to every single fish store in Denver, Boulder, Loveland, and Fort Collins, and I can say for certain that the Fish Crew is the best place to go to purchase fish. However, when it comes to advice and how they treat the customer, it's hit or miss. Every time we have gone in with an issue that we have researched thoroughly, the people we talk to seem to ridicule us for the solutions we are planning on using, or for the diagnosis we have given our fish. Every time we trust that we must be wrong and they were mean to be rude, but we assumed they were right. However, each time we use their solutions, we get no results, and we try the one we had originally proposed and it works wonders. Example: we had a bad Ich issue (white spots) and they laughed at us when we suggested we were going to raise the temperature on our tank. They said it would kill our fish. They suggested that instead we catch each fish individually and give them a bath in Paraguard. That stressed the heck out of our fish and after three weeks and still Ich, we turned our temps up. The fish were happy, we got the temp to 87 (raising it slowly over the course of three days) and sure enough the Ich all died and fell off the fish. Then we had a bad case of "hole in the head" and "rotting fin" and when I went in to just get the product I wanted, they ridiculed me and told me I was wrong and that I had a bully in my tank. My wife and I are really into our fish habit. We watch these things all day. No matter how much I tried to tell them that we don't have a bully and that we really had sick fish, they just told me I was wrong. Guess what, three fish died while we sat around trying to find our "bully." So we just treated the water for "hole in the head" and "fin rot," and what do you know, we fixed the issue. I want to be clear, we LOVE the store. But the employees seem to treat all their customers like they don't know anything, and some of us who are very experienced with our fish don't appreciate being treated that way. I would be willing to bet that even a beginner doesn't like being talked down to. I would recommend that the staff have a training about how to treat customers respectfully, and to listen to what they say and trust that they might know what they are talking about. No need to laugh at your customers when they say they are going to do something you've never heard of, maybe listen and you could learn something! I have three tanks, 60 fish, exotic fish, live plants, and I've spent hundreds of dollars at Fish Crew. At some point I would like to earn the respect of the staff--especially the fish hobbyists--but even if I never earn their respect, they oughta treat me respectfully when I come in to spend money. We will continue to shop here, and we LOVE the facility, and a couple of the staff have been great! But there has been a consistent issue with respect for customers and I just had to write something here because it does get old and I bet the owner/manager would actually take the criticism to heart and try to effect change. Based on how that store is run--which is excellently--I bet they would want their staff to be as excellent as the store itself!! Thanks Fish Crew! I don't mean to be rude, just honest! Update: The last few times we have been in, it does seem like the staff have been more open to what we were doing in our tank, and more supportive of customers. I gave them one more star and I'll make another update soon.

Don't buy from here you try and support local stores and then they don't stand behind there product. I bout a fish it died 3 day then you have to jump through hoops none of the other fish died but can't get a new fish that did die. I bout a JBJ tank from them don't buy one they are junk I came back to and told them about problems they told me sorry I can go buy rubber hose and fix it my self or bring it in and they can see what they can do. It's nothing broken it was how they made the tank plus I have fish in the tank how do I bring it in so you can put a rubber hose on it the tank wasn't made for a rubber hose. Again don't shop here bad service

Very clean store. Beautiful fish. Knowledgeable staff. Okay on prices. Only one problem. I bought some Clown Loach fish from them. Three to be exact. Only 1 died within 24 hrs. I brought it back to them with a water sample. My nitrate was just a little high. Not bad at all. It was 49ish. They refused to replace my fish. I understand that water levels need to be good for my fish. But nobody has perfect water levels. They refuse to admit that they might have an unhealthy fish hear or there that they sell. BTW, the other 2 Clown Loach fish I bought are still just fine, so it is not my tank. It was an unhealthy fish they sold me. But, I must add that they did give me store credit. But would rather have had either my money back, or another fish.

Popped in here while in the Ft Collins area recently and was impressed. The store is beautifully laid out, very clean and well maintained. About the only suggestion I have is they may want to set up a small table near the rocks so folks have a surface to work on when trying to pick stones for a tank. Also have to say, I'm not usually much of a saltwater person (I like plants and aquascaping) but that massive salt tank in the middle of the store is worth going in just to look at, imo. I also give them high marks for the plant selection. They get in a number of plants that are harder to find in CO, and I very much appreciate the selection. I also thought the plant prices were pretty on par/reasonable with other stores. Didn't check the fish prices, but based on other pricing I saw, I would assume it's on par with other specialty fish stores. At a glance, tanks looked well maintained and fish healthy. Definitely a store I will pop into again when I'm in the area.

Dinner very interesting habitats for saltwater fish including love Coral and even stuff for larger tank builds. If you can't find it here the awesome staff will help you to track down what you need in a jiff.

Been coming to The FishCrew ever since they opened. Love this place. Always have or can always get me what i need for my fishies. The employees always have answers to my questions and have reccomendations on what to do. I started out with a 55 gallon and with their help and knowledge i felt cofident that they will always be there to help me, so i got me a 150 gallon. They came out about a year ago and set my beautiful tank up. I had enough cofidence that i let them decorate it how ever they wanted. And it was Better then i ever expected. Going to The Fishcrew, you cant go wrong. All around great shop for supplies, fish, and service. They have my service for life!!!

I went into the store intending to buy some new circulation pumps. The guy working asked what kind I was using. I explained what they were and what they were doing. He knew exactly what the problem was. Told me how to fix the ones I had and gave me the parts at no charge!! They have been working great since then. Great shop with lots of variety for both freshwater and saltwater tanks. The plants and fish appear healthy and the water quality looks good; you don't see dead and ill fish in the tanks like at pet chain stores. The staff are knowledgeable and it seems like most of them have their own tanks at home, so you know they enjoy the hobby as well, and the customer service is great. They've always had everything I need at a reasonable price (for a planted freshwater aquarium). Of course, websites like amazon might have some items for a few bucks cheaper, but I think it's important to support your friendly local fish store. They have a rewards program as well (if you spend a certain amount of money you get a gift certificate for $5, which isn't a lot but is better than elsewhere). Definitely recommend them over a chain store for your aquarium needs. It's also great to just go in and look around. They have some lovely display tanks, including like a 2000 gal saltwater with sharks. :p

The two prior tanks were micro ecosystems were water changes were about every 1yr, filter changes maby every 6mons and in the 20 a gravel clean every 1yr or so. 1- I have never been to this location and with the reviews and pictures I figured this would be a good place to get healthy fish and get some insite on some basic questions i had. Came here the location was easy enough to get to store was clean, display tanks were clean, and everything in here was awesome. Almost felt like i was in an aquarium. All in all the store was nice, but the prices were kinda outrageous (thats including their "used" tanks that are around the same price as retail). 2- This is the cause for the one star, and me never returning. Like i said in #1 i came here based on others reviews, but the employee i delt with was everything but. We (wife and me) went in to buy plants for sure and possibly some unique fish that we couldn't get at petco/smart. When i asked about his opinion on hardy plants that weren't sensitive and would grow quickly since they would end up being a substitute food source, the employee blew off the question and told me this doesnt exist. Explained what i was doing making a "self sustaining" tank he told me that it's impossible to do such. Explained my background with the 10 and 20 where i have and was very much so possible he just shrugged his shoulders and stared at me. After about 15 seconds of silence we told him we were done and left. Went to petco and had a complete opposite experience. Several of the employees we talked too (have been their now 3 days in a row getting plants, fish, and accessories for the tank) have done the same thing in both fresh and salt tanks. And other just had good information about the plants.

Went to inquire about plants. The staff member was rude and made sure to point out that the name of this certain plant was called something else. He talked down to my husband and I then tried to sell us something we didn't want. Needless to say we didn't purchase anything. I'm not going to give my business to a place where we're going to be treated like we're stupid.

The staff is getting friendlier but that has been a serious issue in the past. I've been in the store many times in the past with zero acknowledgement of my presence. It still seems to be hit or miss. The employee knowledge department and helpfulness is also still very hit or miss depending on who is on the sales floor. I placed a call to them a few days back inquiring about cleaner shrimp and availability. At first the salesperson didn't even understand what I was talking about and I had to explain to him what a cleaner shrimp was. At that point I was told that they didn't currently have any such shrimp in stock and I was never asked if I wanted to be given a call when some came in. I then inquired about the price of the shrimp when in stock. The salesperson said he "wasn't sure" and then shot me a random guess of between three and four dollars (ludicrous) instead of taking the time to actually get off his butt and find out the correct answer to my question. They have a decent selection of coral but buyer beware: their stock is infested with undesirable hitchhikers such as flat worms, bristle worms and Apstasia anemones. They are also housing large Tangs in tiny aquariums. Are the fauna less important than the cash register? Beautiful store, but they've been in business a long time and for whatever reasons still have a lot of kinks to work out. I don't expect perfection but some serious details are still being overlooked.

The Fish Crew , is a breath if fresh air in the Colorado fish hobby. The staff has always been friendly and Helpful. Those that we have delt with seem to be knowledgeable and truly seem to be hobbyist's first, and professional's second. What makes this store a standout to me is that my wife, whom really doesn't like going to fish shops with me, because they are dirty, old generally feel run down, likes going to The Fish Crew. The store is clean, and organized, and we'll thought out. They also have the best selection of aquatic plants, and plant related items in the state. It is well worth the trip for us from Denver to Fort Collins, to go to The Fish Crew. Give it a try I don't think you will be dissapointed.

The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I bought a few freshwater fish and plants, and I was happy they asked me about my aquarium during my purchase. The fish seem to come from a good supplier as they have great color and size. The fish I bought ate the first day I had them, and they obviously feed them frozen food and not just flakes as they ate bloodworms right away. Overall 5 stars and will definitely be back soon!

This has to be the best fish store in Colorado. They have a good selection not to mention the store looks GREAT and it's not hot in there like you would expect. This is one of the good ones
