You know that we don't usually bother to place feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Fish Shop belongs to the category of American restaurant.
Not exactly known for their food and service.
Awesome location - twisty roads no matter which way you ride to get there.
Love this place. So much history. Great food and great people!
What makes this place special it's it's history. Fun to look at the hundreds of photos of all the celebrities that have been there. This little old establishment is a favorite of bikers and those out cruising sports cars on Mulholland Highway. It's a bar with a diner and a gift shop where you can purchase t-shirts and other merchandise. It's mostly outside seating with a few tables inside. One of those places you want to go to just to say you've been there. Go and enjoy.
Nice place to get a coffee and watch the bikers. A filming location for Twin Peaks fans
So sad for your guys loss! It was a great run! You guys are awesome. My prayers go out to you!
Awesome ride to the place but nothing super exciting except the Jay Leno and other celebs like the stop, otherwise average mom n pop stop on a long route..
Legendary meet spot for motorcycling. Casual. Good for looking at motorcycles, talking about bikes, and riding the Snake, but for actual food quality or drinking, it's just OK. People don't come here for the food.
Stopped in on a Sunday and found myself surrounded by good people, motorcycles, great staff, awesome music. Parking is tough on Sundays because of the crowd. Most definitely woth coming back.
Great place. Breakfast is good and staff is friendly. Always cool to stop and check out all the awesome motorcycles parked and passing by.
Friendly place nice staff iconic store grate food, one of the worlds best motorcycleing destination, only open on the weekends, i say Jay Lenno there very cool
Iconic place.
I've been coming here for 5 decades. A real oasis of serenity in the urban sprawl of Southern California. Perfect place to hang out and bench race or kick tires. The building is charming, but it is really the people that make The Rock Store so special. Only open on weekends and the prices are pretty high for what you get, so probably better for you to eat somewhere else.
Place was closed when we stopped in but was glad to see it.
This place is more then just a diner, it is a community of riders alike gathering together to hang out and socialize. The Rock Store has a very friendly atmosphere with all sorts of different motorcycles to be seen. The service is fast and honest; I have absolutely nothing negative to say in regards to the service. The food is nothing to brag about, but it does fill you up if need be. The cookies are awesome! Seriously - try them.
Grub, beer and bikes...what else u need!?!
Really cool just knowing sitting there having a cold beer that at any time a star may show up
Love this place. Old time hangout in the Santa Monica mountains and frequented heavily by the motorcycling crowd as well as day trippers and car cruisers. Much beloved by the community and the patrons and the owners are well known and adored. Food is good, beer is cold. Let's say the place is so loved that customers were actually trying to drive in and help in the effort to save it during last year's horrible Malibu fires and the firefighters and sheriff joined forces in an amazing show of love and solidarity on a mission to make sure it stood. And thanks to them it still does.
Always a great time at the Rockstore!
Great place to see motorcycles and have breakfast on the weekends. Arnold Schwarzenegger is here on his purple Harley Davidson quite often.
The best eggs and potatoes west of The Pantry. Ask for Josie's amazing oatmeal cookies, and a side dish of her fresh salsa. Yum.
Awesome place to relax, hang out and watch bikes on the weekends. The food here is also very good.
Always a fun place to stop while riding the Santa Monica mountains.
Total fun place with all the Harley's on the porch.
Good food, cold drinks, cool people, and a awesome ride to get there.
Lots of memories here! Late 1960s to early 1970s, always stopped here !
Love this place, great hangout spot, great food and great people.
I have ridden motorcycles to this famous place from the early 1970s and it is still a nice hangout with decent diner food
Famous biker hang out, great and awesome to drink a beer, see and be seen, see tons of cool bikes and fun bar style place. J.Leno was here, (thus famous), food biker style, don't expect top shelf, once in a while a great dish, once in a while a dried out chicken. who cares, you come here to check out this original Californian biker hang out.
Best place ever
Any given Saturday or Sunday you will find 1 to 3000 motorcycles there. And if you’ve never been on Mulhulland Hwy, it should be on your bucket list.
Delicious food and awesome place. I'll be back next Year. Rewards form Argentina!!
A classic spot for diner fare and exotic car and motorcycle spotting. Only open on the weekends and some holidays. Perfect place to meet up if you are heading into the canyons to do some riding.
Great place for bikers.
Coolest!
Meet the coolest folks here The Rock Stars Of Motorcycling
Great place to take a break in the middle of the pure nature. Amongst motorcyclists a must have been there. Quite worth the ride to get there.
Finally made it to SoCal's iconic biker hangout!
Hangout with other motorcyclist. Good burgers.
Super unique place to stop. Excellent food and service. Loved seeing all the old photos!!!
Great place to ride to great food and super service everyone is very friendly
Season 2 episode 5 highway to heaven. Jonathan ( Michael Landon) disobeyed God and fought 2 (there were 3 total)guys in parking lot to return chicken to a teen they stole from..... Actually, a lot of shows and movies have this place. Most recent I've caught...Monk season 3 episode 12 "Mr monk gets cabin fever"......saw a few others forgot their names. Will add when remember. **edit 5/5/18-- season 12 episode 4 of criminal minds. However, they tried to pass this off as a store next to Appalachian trail in Va. Wrong coast!!!
Greatplace and great service
Classic Rider spot
Iconic stop during your next motorcycle ride
Great place to relax from canyon riding or long road trips. Great food and beer. Lots of people and motorcycles
It's famous if you own a motorcycle, but not much here when we got here early. Lots of fun though with our group.
Not sure I understand the draw to this place. There are much better “biker bars” to visit such as Cooks Corner, Hell’s Kitchen, Newcomb’s Ranch.
Came here with a couple of friends. Good food and good customer service
One of the best spots for motorcycles lovers
It Made it through the Fire.
Great place to stop and have something to eat cold drink nice people lot of different types of motorcycles to take a look at great place to visit if you're in the area
One of my favorite stops whenever I'm doing motorcycle riding in the Malibu Canyon area rock store is quaint comfortable food is good prices are fair I've never had to wait for a table and have always enjoyed the area I would definitely the rock store as a lunch stop for anyone sightseeing in the area
It's been a while since I've visited the Rock Store, still a great place to hang out for a few hours.
Great place! The ride was epic. I got to meet the owner Vern, she was the kindest, sweetest older woman. She said she's owned this special place since 1961. Totally the coolest thing ever. I'm from Portland and this was a memory I'll never forget.
Awesome place to ride to
To coin an overly stated term, it is what it is. If you're a motorcyclist, you go there simply to be able to say you did it. The service and food are not as bad as some other reviewers here have made them out to be, but are admittedly unexceptional. Stop in, take a few pics of your bike in front of the building, and then go ride through the snake once or twice.
Great place.
I don't know why Google keeps asking for a review of this awesome place, but I can tell you that I love it here. If you like motorcycles or supercars and classic's you can't beat this place. Good food, breakfasts until noon, then lunches are served. Iconic place that will bring you back in time, except for the newest bikes on the market. There are often quite a few old vintage motorcycles to drool over. Don't miss this place if you want a fun time.
Always a great hang out spot!
Obviously the best biker bar and restraunt in the history of biker bars.
Always love coming here brings back memories
Great as usual... great cup of coffee!!!
Do not go there for the customer service or the food. If you are a bike enthusiast and in the area it is good to visit, weekends are packed with riders of all sorts which lets you enjoy a bit of people watching ;) Supposed to be a historical place but even with a half European eye you would not use the word. The area though is a must to visit, best rides on twisty roads with beautiful road. Be careful though some parts are full of racing kids and can be dangerous to be around.
Great place to do a day ride and enjoy food and drinks with friends.
Cool spot and you got to take the snake to get there, bonus.
For an iconic motorcycle stop the food was ok. Kraft singles are not cheddar cheese. The pancakes were good. Buy real cheese please!!!
O.k. on the weekends! A little pricey, but food quality good!
Want to see some bikes. Want to meet with other riders. This is the place.
I was visiting family on the West Coast in Huntington Beach and my girlfriend arranged to meet a friend in the area and arranged tour with an LA native. We got a tour of the city and surroundings that you could never get on a bus/van. It was a 6 hour education into an city/metropolis that even most locals won't know. We traveled up to Malibu and had stopped at Neptune's Net but it was packed so our guide told us about this place only open from Friday through Sunday but at the end of what is called "The Snake" - AKA West Mulholland Hwy. The food was not fancy but SOLID! I got a bacon cheeseburger and fries. It's a local hangout - started life as a stop on the Pony Express, then became a stagecoach stop, then a place for gas and now a place for motorcyclist to have fun after riding "The Snake" several times. You may even meet someone like Jay Leno. The food is SOLID - not the Cali pretense of having to have sun-dried this, or imported that. Order, eat and be satisfied. It's the simple pleasures that your mind latches on to for the fondest memories. This is Mom, Baseball and American Pie stuff here. Why is it called The Rock Shop? The place is covered with rocks! Go there.
Always a great time here Sunday morning!
Awesome place, good food and drink! Rich the owner gave my friend and I the grand tour, that was a great surprise and treat! Definitely worth the trip!
If you ride motorcycles you must go there
Great little spot in the Santa Monica mountains. Can't go wrong with the Biker Breakfast. Also, don't be intimidated with all the bikers parked out front. They all seemed really nice and use it as a meet up spot. If you're into bikes, there's a lot of variety to look at. Quick and friendly service.
Nostalgia great. Fun place to look at a bunch of bikes on the weekends
Cold beer in the shade.... nice
A Really Nice place.
If you're out in ole and go up through the mountains by Santa Monica what a great little place to stop get a bite to eat have a drink way up on the mountain trails
Real riders hang here every weekend and enjoy some of the best canyon riding in the US
Parking lot has hills and since motorcycle part there it should be flatter. Great day trip to see other bikes.
Great Ride. Food Was Good. People Where Cool. Country Was Beautiful.
Atmosphere is awesome and feel is great!!! Showed up at 7ish am on a Sunday after a ride in from OC. Bunch of cool picture on the wall and decor had some history to it!! Food was typical diner food, tasty and hits the spot after a good ride but nothing to write home about. We had the steak and eggs, which was tasty and cooked the way we wanted. We will make a ride back but maybe just fot a beer and a sandwich for lunch! Go and enjoy!!!
Great place to ride your motorcycle up to and get something to drink he maybe even eat a little bit have a good time
Great place
Great place to check out bikes.
Love this place , great ride destination.
it's a weekend motorcycle Hangout, weather flow restaurant it's open at 6 a.m. and closes whenever they feel like it it's open half day on Fridays been there for years you might run into Jay Leno there in the mornings it's the best watch out for the Wild Life on the road and maybe a black and white?
I've been riding my bike here since the early 70's. Even back then it was a biker hangout on weekends but most especially on Sundays. Now days it still is but a whole lot bigger. You'll see every kind of bike here on a Sunday. From choppers, to dressers, to crotch rockets, to enduros, mopeds and even rocket propelled bikes that Jay Leno sometimes rides here on. The canyons here are my favorite. While I no longer drag my knees through the turns as I use to, I still enjoy cruising on them. Please be careful and stay well inside your lane when riding here because it is a race track on Sundays and as such you'll see other riders often times drifting outside their lanes and coming right at you at a high rate of speed. Also keep an eye behind you as you'll have others trying to pass you. I advice you stay out of their way, and let them by. Unless of course you're racing in which case they'd have to work their way past me. Bottom line is I highly recommend any biker to visit this place at least once in their life. Definitely something that should be on your bucket list.
Very nice place. Good wholesome food, good beer and snacks, service is excellent and ambience just incredible. I just had lunch and left. Probably over $500 k value of motorbikes parked outside. Everybody having a good relaxing time in the Santa Monica mountains. You will not be dissappointed.
Love riding up here to get a good bite to eat.
Very cool stop with great burgers
Great place great people great bikes great food motorcycles galore just a good experience
Great ham and eggs. Good prices
Great place for motorcycle meet up , nice people and environment. Fast service ,good price ,perfect for the weekends
Food is mediocre, drinks are average, but the location and ambiance can't be beat. At the start of the famous "snake" on Mulholland, the location is perfect for a variety of thirsty bikers.
Short ride from SF Valley, lots of motorcycles, good food.
This is a awesome place and has good customer service.
Slow staff but good food
The best. Park your bike for a refreshment
We love this place!
Decent place, decent food, nice people. The service wasn't great, but I'll definitely go back
Racers and illegal racers always around. Illegal activities happened out in the parking lot all the time
This place is a classic for the motorcycle and car community. The fire miraculously spared this fine place, and its great to see people still patronize even with The Snake remaining closed.
I've had a bike in 2003, that'S how long been coming here. Don't ride any more. Still come here every now and then
All bikers welcome
Great meeting place for anyone that loves to ride. Get breakfast before a ride or stop in for lunch. Maybe you just want to hang out and people watch? Whatever your reason is just stop bye and meet the nicest people in LA
Nice vibe..you go out there for the experience and company. Authentic group if ppeople.
Great traditional diner near the top of the mountain. Very popular with motorcyclists
Best place to meet motorcycle enthusiasts, good music, iconic place, great ride!
Always a welcome place to enjoy great food an real people
Cool biker hangout at the bottom of The Snake. Come often enough and you just might bump into Jay Leno.
Was there today. Amazing place to be. A awesome Meeting point for Motorbike Fans. Also a good place to eat and Drink and sit outside and relax... a place you have to go to... for sure!
YOU LIKE MOTORCYCLES? This place is one of the well visited biker spots around LA. TONS of bikes come from all over to people watch, check out bikes and eat some grub. The service can be a little slow but thats expected with the amount of people that come here. Really if you come here you are heading up the beautiful roads to congregate with other motorcycle enthusiasts at one of the most historically iconic motorcycle gathering spots in Cali. Not uncommon to see Jay Leno here on his latest ride.
Fantastic place to meet other motorcycle enthusiasts.
Nice bikes, cool people, not to far from Home, the ride thru the canyon is good .
A hidden treasure
Great people, great roads and scenery. Good food and a fun Motorcycle crowd. Been going for years!
great place too take a ride too
A neat little store at the end of a mildly twisty ride
Awesome biker bar, great food and customer service!
Its a very nice diner out of the city bustle. Perfect place for hanging out with other motorcycle riders
Great place to chill, look at motorcycles and cars. Bad thing Mulholland hwy is closed
Great great place 4 a timeout, nice place to check out other bikes and meet people with similar interest, not to mention, a great little bar. Sorry no pics.
Love the location, great peeps!!
Basic breakfast but the motorcycles and cars that hangout there are pretty cool to check out.
Cool gathering grounds for the like minded. Ride safe!
Classic motorcycle hang out. Don't come in a car! Haha. Wish they sold motorcycle gear though. Gloves or riding gear would be cool to see here.
This place is an awesome place to sit and eat or socialize! It's a big biker hangout and everyone seems in good spirits whenever I visit. The food has excellent home cooked flavors. It's also close to Mulholland and many other beautiful roads in the Santa Monica/Malibu hills.
What's not to love about a trip here? Always a good time.
Great memories! I was lucky to have lived next door @ 3066 Cornell School Rd. back in the 70's. Knew the owners well and to have known them and the beautiful area. What fantastic fortune to have such a memory! Wish the place and owners a long life! Lets Ride!
Famous but otherwise unremarkable.
Great biker hangout on the weekends
Nice looks quite old but attracrive for riders specially.
Good place to ride your motorcycle. Everyone's friendy can't say a bad thing about it.
Awesome bike hangout.
Great breakfast and cold beer!
Haven't been in years... Prices are all up... Great place to hand out though if you ride or just enjoy looking at beautiful machines... First time my boys had been... So, cool to pass that along to them...
Been Going Here For Years. Lots Of History & Memories. Love The Biker Hang Out Cold Drinks& Cocktails
Cool motorcycle rider hangout, with simple and yummy food with great service. Seemed like one waitress was holding the place down, she did an amazing job and was not only helpful to me, but others. Had the biker breakfast, the bacon was amazing and the eggs scrambled with cheese delectable, and I don't generally like eggs. Cool place!
Cool meeting place for bikers, cyclists and beyond
Good place to get a beer and a bite to eat. Lots of motorcycle to look at you may even see a famous person or two. A very popular spot in the motorcycle community.
One of the motorcycling mecca's of the world, the "Rock Store" is situated at the base of The Snake, a several mile stretch of twisty roads where riders of all sorts test their mettle. There are better roads out there for riding, but the Rock Store is one of the iconic meeting spots where you can fill up for gas, grab a T-Shirt or sticker to commemorate your journey, or just hang out and meet fellow riders.
Stopped by as I was in town a few days. Had to go see how bad the burn area was from our childhood home. So very sad about losing that part of our families history, but excited to see The Rock Store made it through unscathed!
Good hang out spot. Not sure how it is now after the fires :(.
Staff and food was great, considering I rolled in with about 65 "Hungry Bikers". They did a good job of taking care of us, plus there other customers.
Great place to visit and hang out.
A true landmark. Worth a visit if you're in the area.
Bet you didn't know about this part of the Rock stores history.
