I would give this place 5 stars but it only seems like they cater to dogs and cats. I have a snake and I've never seen anything snake related go on sale. Usually, I go to a local small business to feed my snake but every once in a while, on a Sunday, I have no choice but to go here. I pay triple the as amount for a frozen mouse here.

Amazing customer service! Had to clip my cats nails and was nervous even after looking up videos and information online...went to Petco to get clippers and styptic powder and the woman at the counter gave me 10 minutes worth of advice and with that calmed my nerves, went home clipped his nails and they didn't even bleed! She was amazing and Petco did a great job selecting her to be staff... I wish I could remember her name darn it! I hope she knows how impressed I was though.

I went there yesterday cause I got a 20% off coupon for entire purchase and I'm starting up a new tank. A guy helped me get heavy stuff in my cart cause I'm pregnant. And helped load it into my car. But noticed once I got home I got the wrong amount of change back when he rang me out. Other than being shorted 4 dollars and 2 cents. The fish tanks look better sense I the last and fish look healthier for a while they where all sick looking. So it's good to see that change

They don't guarantee saltwater fish or marine life and they don't tell you when you buy the saltwater fish drove all the way there and brought my fish back in a water sample and they wouldn't exchange the fish or give me my money back fish only live for 3 days not a good policy if you're going to sell saltwater fish I have established tanks and all the other wildlife I bought from them are living just fine

Took my puppy to get a bath and a brush and was told by Tabitha that puppies 5 1/2 months or older do not qualify as a "puppy" and that I would be charged the adult rate, which I found interesting because the sign states 6 months as the cut off for puppies. This has to be the worst customer service I have experienced in a pet store. Tabitha did not spend any time going over the cost break down or services provided. When I came back to ask whether my puppy was ready to be picked up, Tabitha said that she had called and left a voicemail. I had not received a call and voicemail. Was charged an extra $5 for a nail trim when I didn't ask for one. Poor customer service, not going back. Petco management, if you are reading this you can thank your employee Tabitha for losing you another customer.

Only reason why I am leaving even one star is because a few of the employees in small pets tried their best to help us find the pet we were looking for. Our kids have been saving $ and researching for quite awhile on some small pets they wanted. Today they hit their mark so I called petco asking if they carried and had these pets in store. Person on phone assured me they did and had different verities. So we drove the 40min to the store, to not only find out they didn’t have any in stock petco doesn’t carry this pet AT ALL! Extremely disappointing to the kids and a waste in time and money. Now that kids hearts are set we have to turn around and drive an hour and a half in opposite direction. So a warning to future customers, make sure to a picture or something physical before you waste your time. I do thank the two girls that tried their best to look up other places for us, it wasn’t there fault and they did what they could.

We have been taking our American Staffordshire Pitbull, LeeLee Pup, to Petco since we adopted her six years ago to have her nails clipped and her anal glands expressed. The staff there is always helpful and very knowledgeable! They even called me last week to see how LeeLee Pup is doing, because they hadn’t seen her in for a while. I told them that we are coming in this weekend. They informed me that they are running a 14% off special on baths during the month of February. They said they would love to give LeeLee Pup a bath, because she is such a good girl! This is the kind of customer service to expect at the Oshkosh location. We buy all of our pet supplies at this store as well for our pup. Thanks Petco Oshkosh! Y’all rock!!!

I'm so disappointed. Today I was there, looking at the fish tanks, and saw multiple dead fish (most notably, a plecostomos and a gourami which are both hardier, larger fish). I look at a lot of fish tanks in a lot of pet stores and am never surprised to see a dead tetra or guppy, but usually employees will check regularly and take them out as soon as they are noticed. The plecostomos must have been dead for a long time as it was a pale white color, and it's pretty hard to miss a dead gourami (lying sideways on the bottom of the tank). The rest of the store looks fine, but in the future I'll definitely choose another pet store first.

I wanted to give a shout out to Brooke, in the grooming department, for doing an exceptional job for our dog, Ranger's, first experience getting trimmed (he is a mixed coat shepherd mix). She was so helpful, even offering to open 30 minutes early to accommodate my work schedule. Ranger was finished right on time, and she called and texted immediately to let me know. He looked great, and did not seem at all traumatized by his first grooming experience (often he is a bit "testy" when we try to brush him out). Upon check out, Hillary even gave Ranger a free treat for being such a good dog. I will be back! Thank you Brooke and the team at the Dillon Petco!

I adopted a pup with some extreme separation anxiety among other rough behavioral tics. I signed him up for dog training here with Devon, and it has been wonderful! After just two weeks he already shows improvement with her techniques. She’s very sweet and knowledgeable. She offers customized advice for the individual dogs and families, and obviously loves what she does. 11/10 would absolutely recommend her. Whatever doubts you may have, she can put them to rest.

Especially with help in taking my items to my lyft ride when it came (had tons of bags or would have handled everything on my own). If I could leave -1 I would. Absolutely terrible customer service. My boyfriend and I came to this location today on Christmas eve to purchase a turtle. We brought our tank from petsmart and came here for the turtle. When asking to purchase the guy I spoke with was blunt and rude claiming he couldnt sell us the turtle until we had proof that our tank has been installed for 24 hours. I went to 3 different locations after this and they all informed me as long as the water is 70-78 degreees that the turtle will be fine which of course I have common sense to not use freezing water. I then called and asked to speak with a manager... and she lied! She kept asking where we lived and could tell she just didn’t want to sell us the turtle. She then proceeded to tell me that the type of turtle we wanted was illegal because we live in Pg county. I went to petsmart and petco at another location and they all informed me they’ve never heard of that and that all the staff just didn’t want to sell to us. Everytime I go there for food for my reptiles, I ask each one the same question and always get a different answer. I bought my Leppard Gecko from there a few weeks back, wasn't actually trying to buy, but just look, but the lady working because she was busy, thought I was buying. She tried to get her m out of his cage, but he was so aggressive (which is why I ended up buying him) she could barely get him out! Well before check out I was trying to ask some basic questions for care and she didn't know ANYTHING! Not even his gender!! I bought everything needed for him that I didn't don't already have and left. That night put him in his new set-up with a little food and the nest morning I went to get him out and half his body was covered in grey and was still VERY distressed! So I decided to take him back to see what they thought and when I pulled him out of his cage, he was completely grey (shedding) and I asked what was going on.. The man at the counter didn't know (I figured it was a stress shed) so in order for them to take him to the vet they said I had to return him which I was not made aware of when purchasing him. The man did the return, but never gave me my money back so I asked the manager and she rudely said the man never entered the transaction into their system. Then I get a call two days later saying my Gecko was fine but they're keeping him for 30 days even though nothing was wrong. So I waited about a week to decide what to do with his stuff and ended up trying to return it. Another manager was the one doing my return, but AGAIN "forgot" to give me money back for two of the most expensive things. I told her there was no way the amount returned was correct and she became rude with me and went back and "realized" her mistake and gave me the rest of my money. Long story, but point is, they hire people who don't even know the basics needed for these animals care or lifestyle nor are they honest when doing returns! I've had petty things happen there when it comes to getting what you pay for, but untill two different managers that were rude tried to rip me off, that's when I realized they don't have simple mix ups or accidents, they are just scandalous and unprofessional!!!

The selection of aquarium supplies here is quite good, but if you are looking for fish or inverts beyond the basics, you're probably better served going to the Union Square location.

The only reason why I give them such a terrible rating is because it took them two years to list the phone number for this location. I complained to a manager at another location and she was the only person that cared to have the phone number listed properly. The phone number was missing from the PetCo website and was missing from Google. After my conversation I noticed the missing phone number was finally listed. For two years I complained to every employee at the Dillon store and nobody bothered to correct the unlisted phone number. Some of the employees are excellent and seemed to care about this problem. Other employees admitted they had been aware of this problem but the store is to understaffed to answer phone calls. That attitude will cause businesses to go out of business.

Worst customer service ever. Andy Merch is the worse. I went to buy some fish on a Sunday 5 min before the closed and he would not help me. I understand you want to go home but you should help your customers if they come in during business. I also think they have a big water problem with there tank. The majority of the staff is friendly but there is 1 lady who is always rude . We stood at the check out for quite some time while she chatted in the dog spa with the worker in there. She looked back at us a few times but continued to lean on the desk laughing and chatting. It wasn't until my husband walked over and asked for help that she moved. Even then she was clearly bothered. As she rang up my 5 items she wasn't friendly at all.1 item was a 5$ plant. She typed in the number (switching 2 around ) and it came up a 60$ item. Knew better than to shop here, but Petzone was close to closing time and I didn't want to burden them. I was in the store over 20 mins wondering around looking for rabbit toys. There are no signs except a small 5 x 5 sign at knee level by the rabbit food only. I finally found the toys while watching 5 employees walk past me repeatedly. I've worked in sales, it never hurts to engage a customer at least once. Not to mention there were only 3 customers in the store. The woman that rang me out was friendly and I did voice my concern with her, but she was one of the 5 who didn't bother to stop and speak to me. Never shopping here again unless it's online.

Recently just moved from Texas where we used Petco for our German Shepherds grooming needs. Made an appointment at this location and recieved a phone call questioning why we selected to get our long haired German Shepherd a haircut. After explaining to the woman why he needs a haircut she advised me they refuse to give any German Shepherds a hair cut. I proceeded to ask why it was different at this location versus in Texas and why they offer the service online and the woman rudely responded with "I don't know". She then advised that it's a policy that they are not allowed to give German Shepherds haircuts. I was appalled by the rude demeanor as well as the inability to do something as simple as a trim. I ended up canceling the appointment and will not be using Petco for any services or products after this experience.

My 5 stars go directly toward the dog trainer, Ashley Z., who has been amazing with our Golden Retriever puppy, Henley. The store itself is a typical Petco -- relatively clean and well stocked, willing to price match, decent sales -- but the dog trainer is top notch. We've learned so much taking our dog to the training classes (2 down so far, and 1 more paid for starting up soon), and also had a wonderful time socializing him with Petco's free puppy play times. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a good dog trainer in the area.

Made an appt to have my dog groomed. Went back the next day for our appt and was told that they could not take my dog because she is on medication. I understand this policy; it makes sense. But, why don't they ask these questions when you MAKE the appt! When I asked the groomer this question she said, “Well did you ask?” Unbelievable! I am not a groomer. I had never been to Petco to have my dog groomed. How would I know to even ask?!?! So it was MY fault that I was unaware of the policy? She made it sound like it was MY fault that I did not know! Instead of just saying, “Listen, I am really sorry that we didn’t share the policy with you ahead of time. We understand this was a waste of your time and we are truly sorry.” That’s all she had to say! She just had to be nice about it. Instead, she blamed me. In addition, she told me that dogs don’t typically take medication. WHAT?!?! Really? Is this a fact? She made it sound like there was something wrong with my dog! Then she went on to correct herself by saying, “Dogs who are on medication don’t typically get groomed?” WHAT?!?! These are incredibly ridiculous statements! Is there any truth to this? That dogs on medication can’t and don’t get groomed???? Whatever happened to kind customer service and the customer is always right?

The kicker is they are trying to sell the set up still in their stores even though they know people won't be able to use them! My partner asked if he could buy the filters out of the aquarium set but they wouldn't let him so basically pissed $250 away and my fish is sick because of acidic water. Not very happy with this place. When I first moved to the area I went in to purchase dog food and a feeder mouse for my snake. I was told by an employee that they don't sell feeders, only to find out a couple of weeks later they do in fact sell feeders. Weird. My twice a week trips there have been more annoying than anything and I have stopped bringing my dogs with me all together due to the fact that I am harassed by employees the ENTIRE time I am shopping as they attempt to badger me into purchasing their puppy classes. Seriously, every single employee there will hit you up for classes and then the check out clerk will drive the nail in as you attempt to hustle out of there. But don't think for one minute that leaving the dogs at home stopped the harassment. Nope. They are relentless. Just purchasing a dog toy or dog food will get them circling around you and shoving puppy class pamphlets in your bag! I know this isn't the employees fault, I understand that the management makes them upsell the classes. However, they need to start recognizing regular customers and stop asking after the millionth time. I have resorted to driving to a neighboring city to go to the pet store there so I can actually bring my dogs with as they like to walk around the store peacefully. This petco is pretty small compared to other petco's I have been to, their prices are higher than other local pet stores and they rarely have good deals going on. Honestly, I could deal with the lack of employee knowledge, high prices, lack of sales and how small the store is if I wasn't badgered about the puppy classes EVERY time I walk through the door. I will shop elsewhere for my pet needs.

I live down in Minnesota and came to Dillon and Keystone for spring break and after going to city market for groceries (a very friendly high quality food market) I wanted to go to petco because I absolutely adore animals. They have a HUGE selection of animals. MUCH more than Minnesota Here's all of the things they that have we don't: jackstone chameleons, female Guinea pigs, baby Guinea pigs, small, and large rats, (Minnesota has medium) baby betta fish, long hair hamsters, female mice, and parrots. Minnesota has parakeets just not Parrots. The customer service is excellent as well! I talked with a man about the animals and the great selection and turns out they're actually able to request animals for the store and they have done an amazing job with that! He was very nice and I wish I would have gotten his name but we talked about his love for animals and he is a great worker and I would trust him working at my petco at home in MN. There were also two other women who helped us and we're very friendly and gentle to the animals. They also helped my brother look at parakeets. Wonderful place! Highly suggested! :)

This store should be closed. Employees are often no where to be found. They rarely ask you if you need help. Like others, I too have noticed employees up front talking and not working. One time I went in there and found a dead mouse. Another time the fish tanks were really dirty. There was water all over the floor. A broom was in the middle of an aisle. Boxes and pallets were everywhere. The store is very dirty in general and employees give off an " I don't care to be here and I could care less to help you" kind of vibe. Who is in charge at this store? It needs a major overhaul. I would be ashamed if I owned it.

Petco groomers tried to tell us it wasnt them that her house was filthy and it was probably her house and yard that was infested. HORROR with the New grooming staff: stay AWAY from these CRUEL and RUDE people. I set an appointment as I’ve done for the past two years in this location. In the morning of the appointment They called me to confirm the appointment. I went there and, aside from a general very rude attitude of Christina (the new grooming manager) which I won’t even comment on , I’m told by her that in the notes they have about my 14 pounds dog it’s written that he doesn’t like to be touched in the front paws so - she warns me with threatening tone- the policies of the new management is that if he has ANY sign of distress they will interrupt service and give me the dog back as he is. THEN, not satisfied with that, she goes in and talks to the woman who would have had to bath my puppy and directs her to PROVOKE my dog so to show that they couldn’t take him (I could read her lips). SUre enough the woman comes out and starts provoking my dog - she even PULLED his TAIL - and after a good five minutes of this they told me that they couldn’t take the dog. Aside from the CRUELTY of what they did they had the information stored in their data and could have told me not to come instead of making me waste an entire afternoon to then witness such cruelty. I wouldn't give any stars if I could for the simple fact went to this store it was a wreck!! The store manager Deb was rude as hell not only to the customer but also yelling at her employees in front of the customers. I was in line checking out when there was a deaf girl named Sam or Samantha in the front trying to ask for help from Deb and all she did was yell at her and told her to pay more attention and listen better. I will not be coming back to this store or referring anyone. No one should ever talk to someone in that manner regardless of the person just sickens me to see this.

Friendly staff; we once had our dog's hair cut here, but there was only so much that they could do without him being stressed out. Instead of charging us, they recommended some other dog hair cutters in the area. Huge selection of fish as well!

I adopted a cat here, the process was smooth- just had to drive out to the Marion Humane Society and pay the fee, return to the store and showed proof of adoption. Good selection of toys and treats, typical live pet store problems, occasional dead, loose cricket etc. It's normal.

Took my pups for grooming. They said "done by 5 pm". I dropped them at 1 pm. 4 hours is a long grooming appointment. Came at 5 pm to pick them up and they were not done. I went back at 5:45 and they were just taking her off the table. Poor pups crated and not let out for 5 hours. Cuts were subpar. Will not be going back.

After shopping at this location for years and spending thousands of dollars on specialty cat food for a special needs cat.. I was slightly saddened to find the past year I've been shopping strictly here, I have had constant issues with the specific type of food I need. They seem to NEVER have it in stock.. even after I notified management that this was a constant problem whenever I tried SPENDING MONEY AT THIS STORE. The employees that constantly wore name tags were kind of helpful.. in the sense of 'we will ship it to your house' or 'describe your cats special needs so I can play vet for you' which, in reality, is not helpful at all. Two weeks ago I stopped in looking for what my needy cat needed... they had ONE of the smallest bags you can buy left. So I asked a clerk... who asked another clerk... who asked another clerk. the second clerk comes back to say It might be on this factory wrapped pallet of various types of cat/dog food, that just happens to be sitting in the middle of an isle. So unquestioningly the first two clerks start tearing into this pallet. Sorting between dog and cat by throwing the bags into separate shopping carts on either side of the pallet... slightly horrified as I am watching high end brands b thrown about the place.. I backed away slowly, realizing, the bottom of every bag I've bought here had powdered cat kibble instead of edible little circles and now I know why. Today. I went to PETSMART instead... they had the type of food I needed in stock plus a wide variety of other options for the type of needs my cat has. The staff was friendly and did not try to play 'vet' with me. After a widely positive shopping experience at PETSMART... I drove to this Petco to see if I made the right choice... I did. They still had none of what I needed in stock. The only thing I actually could buy was a toy.. but checking out was the other nightmare. The lady was kinda mean, quick to anger, and straight stuck up when i questioned how many items were actually rung up. It was like she used her lack of name tag as a safe haven for which to treat me with disrespect. Goodbye Oshkosh Petco. You just plain suck.

Sad to say that I have decided to not shop here anymore, as the grooming staff and other assorted employees are really great and helpful. Unfortunately the new management team has made bad decisions, are not helpful, and do not treat their employees right. Personally, I was not happy when they fired the original manager (super helpful guy), but I continued to shop there. Then I bought $199 worth of training, which was for 2 levels of classes (12 weeks total), I received the first 4 or 5 classes, the trainer left, I received a new trainer that told us that the old trainer was wrong, tried to switch up what we learned, and was basically a waste of our time, we took a break and when I went back to get the second class, they said they had no record of us (so basically we were shnookered out of $100), but I continued to shop there. Many times my "rewards" were loaded on to my card...and then magically disappeared....but I continued to shop there. But when I heard that Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno was unceremoniously dumped as a rescue partner, without sufficient notice and in disregards to their 5 year commitment to that store.....I am done. Will either be shopping at Petsmart or Pet Extreme.

I have been taking my dog to the groomers here for many years. Ever since they have had a complete change in all employees at the grooming shop I have had horrible experiences.. the first time I had brought my disatisfaction up to them I was told "Well unfortunately the dog can't tell me what she wants" even though i explained in detail to the new employee how I wanted her groomed. The second time, the cut was better but when it was realized that they were supposed to brush her teeth I caught the groomer spraying something in her mouth to hide that fact that my dogs teeth were not brushed. I used to recommend this place to everyone, but I will no longer do that.

To Petco's credit if you show them it's cheaper on the website they will price match it. But this is a shady practice at best.)

The workers just place items on the shelf not in any certain order or in the right place to match the barcode. So you might be paying too much for an item. Yet if you say something about to them they don't walk over and fix the shelf they just say okay.

I’m daily customer of petco I spent thousands of dollars for fish Specially Betta fish and I don’t like the new Manager this is the story I have 40 betta fish from petco for a past month and the Policy 30 day return and this what he tell me this morning I came to the store I can’t return my fish any more and I ask why he said because I return them to much so I say what the point for keeping a betta if I don’t like that betta he said he can take a 30 return policy of the store I haven’t seen a manager talk stupid like that in my life I will never support them no more

I bought wax worms here and they all died. I wanted to buy a lot of crickets and a store employee would not help me even though I asked for it. They could have better care for their animals (specifically the leopard geckos). Some of their items are expensive. I do like that they help shelters, have a wide selection of items, and have an adoption center though.

The items are generally pricey and the store it self is small and overcrowded. They do have the bread i was looking for so I was happy about that. There is a fairway and trader Joe's close by so if you are on a budget those are better bets

It comes with a unique visit every time I am here. The amount of services this place offers to its customers is wonderful. I have purchased almost 95% of my animal related products from this place. The vet service they offer even helped my mother save $$$ and time. The place is great that they let animals walk with you in the building. I just wish they would expand out and maybe make or team up with a company and make indoor dog parks.
