Visted 5.29.19 told waitress that our chicken was over cooked nothing was done about it then near the end of our meal and taking our food to go my daughter found a hair underneath her food and the waitress said she would talk to someone came back and said if we had saw it in the beginning something could have done but we had ate the food she said they had problems like that before (sounds like they think we did it) she told someone and nothing was done but she said she charged us for a different meal food was ok but all that went on was and never be worth the return ( I even left a tip could have been a sorry customer made a seen and left the table blank ) oh to make matters WORST not one word was said like THANK YOU COME AGAIN don't worry I won't

Best fish I've had in a very long time! Excellent flavor and large meaty pieces of fish. The hush puppies, pickled tomatoes, and slaw were also really good. The service was quick and very friendly as well. A little bit off the beaten path but well worth it! We will be back!

The Hook in Jacksonville is awesome. I enjoyed a very nice friday evening out with my mom and sister. We had an amazing waitress and the food, the best hushpuppies ever and the fish and shrimp cooked just the way I requested. The owner even checked in to make sure we were well taken care of. I highly recommend The Hook and would give it 10 Stars if i could.

If I had to choose one catfish place to eat at out of all the ones near my home, I would choose The Hook. The food is good. The portions are big. But the service, the service goes above and beyond. The servers are so friendly. The owner is always there, and makes it a point to speak to anyone who is in a 4 foot radius. We are always treated exceptionally. Especially makes a difference when I have all 5 of my children with me.

I have been coming to this place for years but today was a problem. We got waitress too busy stitching on other waitresses instead of taking care of the customers. There's always a good time and place for that people. Not Cool!

Best catfish around. The service is very good. They have easy access for those of us that are differently abled (I use a cane and have a seizure alert dog). They were very kind and generous about helping me find the table I preferred with my dog, not all restaurants will do that.

The Hook is legendary in Jacksonville and Northern Pulaski County. It's military theme and friendly staff help make it a family restaurant worth the visit. Although they do have a variety menu, you go to the Hook for the perfectly cooked catfish, tasty hush puppies and crunchy crinkle cut fries. And the white onion and green tomatoes top off a meal that sends you home happy and full. The place isn't fancy, but it is inviting, diverse, and worth a stop. Also - No standing in buffet lines and the prices are easy on the wallet.

I do not recommend this restaurant for their catfish. I have eaten there about 4 times now and am not satisfied with it. It is always overcooked and mostly crust, very little fish. Got the small catch which is 5 pieces and by the time I removed all the crust, I may have actually got maybe 2 pieces. Barnhill's has better catfish. Just saying.

Well, first of all we have been trying to find us a place that serves fish, but of course can't have all of the fried fixings, but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and do it anyway. When we got into the restaurant, we did get a table rather quickly but we sit there for almost 30 minutes before we were ever greeted and it wasn't very friendly, short and just lifeless. So we finally got our drinks and got to order our food, I tried to keep it simple with just a regular plate and first the fish wasn't completely cooked through which was disgusting, and then the fries were soggy and the coleslaw was really watered down, over all the experience sucked on top of the fact that we had to wait and wasn't given great customer service. I would not recommend this place to anyone. This picture is of the food before I tasted it.

Having frequented The Hook for a few years now, I must admit that the quality of the food has decreased. Once the new owner took over, things began to change (for the worse). Service is shaky at best. A couple of the waitresses are good, but most are in need of re-training. I was in there for lunch today, and one of the cooks even came up to the table and mouthed off as us. Then to top it off, I was overcharged by $4.40. This is the second time I have been overcharged at this restaurant in the recent past. I did not bring this to their attention, as I was on my way to an appointment before I realized it. Third, they have all this military stuff on the walls, but give no military discount. Not that the discount is a big deal, but this is kind of hypocritical of them. It seems like the owner is more in it for the money than anything else. I will not be eating here anymore.

DONT GO FOR FAMILY MEAL IF YOU WANT TO EAT THERE. NOT ALLOWED! EVEN THOUGH ON THE MENU! Dont take the family here, unless you want to over-pay. The service was okay. Food was actually pretty good. But we called to price the family meal, then we got there to order said family meal and "weren't allowed to dine in and order the family meal" which makes absolutely no sense to me, so we ended up spending more money and getting a little less food than we would have the other way. No explanation.. It was on the regular menu they gave us when we came in. But we couldn't dine in if we wanted the family meal. Very upset we had to spend more for less food because we wanted to eat there! Probably will never return due to this fact.

Before I moved away I used to visit The Hook often. I came back for a visit and the food is still great. The fish didn't have as much flavor as I remember, but it was still good. The hush puppies were sweet, but very good to me. The service was friendly, as it always has been. Next time I go back to visit, I'll more than likely pick up some fish from them again!

What more could you ask for on a beautiful Sunday afternoon lunch with lots of friends and family. (We just all chose the same location to have lunch). Try it, you will like it!!!!!

I lived in Arkansas for 25 years and have eaten at every catfish place in the central area, this one is one of my favorites. You get a really good amount of fish for the price. It's about 15 minutes from North Little Rock and they do take out as well.

In Central Arkansas, this is our choice for catfish. The helpings are plentiful and the restaurant has an open friendly atmosphere. The wait staff is attentive and checks back with you often. The tables are set up to accommodate large groups of family or friends. I highly recommend it.

Awesome place for catfish!! And it was very busy on early Sunday afternoon!! There were two rooms of seating.. a LOT of tables.. I, nor any customers after me, had to wait for a table. The food was hot and fresh, and delicious. Portions were good and waitresses were ON IT!! The owner or manager was walking around checking on customers.. love that!!
