Couldn't recommend them highly enough. I was in the market for a new lizard, and did a ton of research to see where in Arkansas I should go. This place was the obvious choice. I wound up getting a pretty common species, a bearded dragon, but I drove 3 hours in total to get my dragon from this shop because I don't like how PetSmart cares for their animals (too cold, cages too small, improper substrates and climbing materials, never cleaned enough.....) This shop, however, does an amazing job of caring for their animals, and I wanted to support that. I have professional and personal experience as a reptile keeper and an aquarist, and this shop impressed me. One example - they had red-eyed crocodile skinks, who need a lot of humidity. They set the tank up to have a very natural looking substrate with a small running water feature and a mister. This specie also doesn't handle well and gets really stressed, and when asked by some kids to handle a crocodile skink, the reptile guy politely said it wasn't a good idea. The reptile guy really knows his stuff, care instructions, the species they have... and I'm sure the other staff is equally awesome! A few weeks in, my baby dragon is still happy and healthy :)

I always get my crickets here. I also enjoy looking at the reptiles. Theyve made great improvements in the caging and care over the last few years. I was not impressed back in 2014 when I first stopped in. I've been in many times since, and things have definitely gotten better, across the entire store.

Huge place too find a new friend or buy stuff for the special one that you already have!. They have birds,reptiles,cats and fur animals too. A friendly dog that loves to be pet will greet you. The employees in here can answer your questions. A lot of options, and they even count with a discount section. The baked treats are so cute to watch on any season!

My girlfriend and I are big into the fish, shrimp and planted aquariums. Safari pets has some harder to find shrimp. Substrate for shrimp and plants that are almost half price than the same item on Amazon. And they had mini dwarf hair grass that I can't find anywhere that looks healthy and is at a really good price. So this place is pretty decent. Would recommend.

Nice little store. The short haired brunette with glasses helped me and she was great. Picked out a cute fat hamster for my daughter and she was very knowledgeable and helped me with whatever I needed. They’re a bit more pricey but most independent shops are. And usually are worth it.

I took my dog to get a groom for his birthday and when I picked him up and got in the car I noticed there was blood coming from his paw. I picked him up and his whole entire nail was gone and they didn’t even tell us anything about it when we picked him up. I took him back to get them to put some pourer on it to stop the bleeding and he cried and welped because he was in so much pain. I won’t be taking him back there for sure just keep that in mind if you’re looking for a good place to take your pets.

The style is unmatched. Unique store. I noticed, however, that the tortoises seemed ill. There was no natural foliage in the reptile enclosures and instead just a green fuzzy mat. I'm not sure what the purpose of it is, but none of the reptiles seemed to enjoy it.

My husband recently had our border collie groomed at Safari Pets. I am usually the one that takes Elijah to get groomed. I cannot be upset with my husbands ignorance because ANY groomer would know that dogs with a double layer coat DO NOT need to be shaved! Any groomer I've been to would have needed a scheduled appointment. Grooming dogs can take time and patience if done correctly. So I found it odd that they offered a "walk-in". When my husband went to pick him up they asked for assistance to hold him still....After it was all said and done my baby looked like he had a case of mange...I found 4 ticks on him when I got home. My husband said that they told him he was nicked several times with the razor.His demeanor was heartbreaking. All he wanted was to be held and that to me is not a good sign that he got good care. He has been groomed several times before and this was by far the worst experience. And after all this, we still paid full price. Unbelievable!

I love this place maybe a little to much. Every time I got in I end up getting something for my fish tanks. I only get fish stuff and dog stuff so I can't comment on the other creatures and products however every fish I have bought at this location I still have. They are always knowledgeable about every product they have be it the best dog food or fish to fish care. There is one thing though, I wish they had a bigger aqua plant selection. Speaking of aqua plants, the plants I have bought from them have always done very well and have not lost one yet. Theirs are the only plants that doesn't die off soon after replanting.

The staff is friendly, the place is clean and doesn't smell. However, the birds I feel bad for. They have no toys, some of the birds look over stressed and start overgrooming their feathers so they look eaten away. When I was there. There was a bird in a cage too small on the floor. Parrots should not be on the floor it stresses them out. If they don't have toys to chew on their beaks overgrow causing so many problems. I know you're a business but show a little decency towards the birds in the parrot area of your store.

I've been going to safari pets since my 10 gallon fish tank, I now have a 75 gallons and a 150. I have bought all my fish and dog food from then for a long time now. The staff is amazing always willing to help. Great store for sure.

We love Safari Pets! They have all of your pets needs and can answer any question about pretty much any animal you may have. They sell mice, rats, hamsters, fish. Sometimes they may have some dogs, puppies, cats or kittens for adoption. The owners are great people!

If you've never been, they have a giant tortoise walking about the premises that is very chill, you can pet him anywhere but on the nose without problem. They are very conscientious and knowledgeable about the animals and will not BS you if they don't know something--they'll go get the person who does. The staff gets overwhelmed a bit at times, that's the nature of the pet business which requires quite a lot of information, so you might have to be patient when it's busy. Just let them know you need something and they will help. It is worth noting that they have as many people available to you as the big chains in NLR. Seriously this place is an absolute gem. It's the only reason I ever go to Cabot from my residence in Jacksonville.

Personally I feel like this place has a long way to come with there small animal care, they had: Two ferrets in a 10g (they couldn’t even stretch out) 3 hedgehogs in a 10g with no wheel or hides 50+ baby mice in a 10-15g, some were so young they didn’t have there eyes open and were covered in feces Rats, should never be kept in a tank especially not 20 in a 10g, you cannot keep rats in tanks not ever, the ammonia builds up and will kill them They were using wire wheels that can cause bubble foot 2 Guinea pigs, no hides or wheels And the selection of food was awful, they had no food that has the correct nutrients for mice (the reason I drove from Conway) and they claim to be the largest small animal dealers, when petsmart and Petco have better cared for animals, the exact same amount of animals, cheaper and greater selection of healthy adequate foods They also sold wheels that are to small for any animal, (they did have a 12 inch wheel on the shelf tho, that’s rare) I really honestly hope that they take the animals out of the display cages at night and give them proper cages because the hedgehogs (a nocturnal species) and the Guinea pigs were terrified and huddled together in the corner because they didn’t have any hides

Anytime we come in it's always fun. We may come in for one thing but leave with plenty more be it dog treats, dog toys, hamster supplies, or even dog food. It's such an easy place to spoil most household animals.

A good store, but wish they had a better fish department. I try to come here for my fish needs, whether that be fish food or new fish/equipment. They have the basic stuff for people just beginning the setup of their tanks but nothing interesting after that. And they also have a very basic fish selection. I find driving the extra miles to the fish bowl in searcy a better option. Prices can also be quite high. I understand it's a locally owned store but Amazon and chewy kill them in offering the same things at a far lesser price. They do have a rewards system so if you come here often make sure to ask them about it!

This is not your ordinary pet store. They dont deal in ordinary pets. They are more exotic; snakes, lizards, fish, scorpions, birds, and the like. The staff know their stuff and routinely have how to seminars. If you go, say "HI" to Bowzer...the resident turtle that is about 3 feet wide.

They appear to be doing some construction on a section in the back but doesnt seem to be affecting the store. Will return for future supplies.

Went in to buy some treats for my dogs and ended up getting a bit more. They have everything you need for most pets. They also have a few pets running around and that made it fun. I would highly recommend this place for your pet needs or getting a gift for a pet lover.
