The worst experience I've ever had at a bowling alley in my life. Me and my family decided while on vacation, to the small town of bull shoals, to visit my parents. We thought that maybe we could go bowling one evening. Seemed like a fun night out with my family and my brothers family. At least that's what we thought. Upon entering the facility, there was only 1 bartender who acted as the waitress, bartender, and cashier at the register for paying to bowl. The process of getting the shoes was annoying to say the least considering, she seemed over worked and completely annoyed that we were there and that she had more people to deal with. Mind you, there were only about 10 people total in the entire restaurant/bowling alley at this point. Not exactly a packed house. And believe me, I'm about as passive as it comes, and understanding when it gets busy. But I truly believe her rudeness was unwarranted.
As I was first up in our 4 person adult group on lane 2 with our children on lane 1, I noticed that the flooring before the line, had no SLIDE to it AT ALL. I tripped forward and almost fell over on my first frame. Thinking it might have just been my balance, I didnt pay it as much attention as I should have. This I would soon find as the biggest mistake of our vacation.
As my wife got up to bowl her first frame, the same thing happened to her, however, as she tripped forward due to the entirely too grippy flooring, she was unable to stop her momentum by stepping forward with her right foot, to which she landed on the lane over the line. She then slipped and fell backwards landing on her butt, and trying to brace her fall with her wrist. As I heard the scream of my wife, i ran up to her to realize she had broken her wrist. At this point I yelled to the staff to call the fire department, I realized that my brother was the one who made the call. As a volunteer emergency responder at my job back in Texas, I understand that critical moments can cause people to freak out pretty easily. The waitress/bartender brought a towel with ice over to help and apologized. I went to the register to pay my tab or figure out what to do, she wanted to know what I wanted to do. 911 called back on the facilities land line and wanted to speak to me due to losing signal on my brothers cell. She asked me again rudely what i wanted to do because she was the only one there and had a table she was waiting on as well. Stop traffic.......excuse me....what did she say. Ya. That's right. My wife isn't 20 feet away with a compound fracture and her arm looking like it got hit by an NFL player, while crying out loud and trying not pass out, and your worried about settling a bill of a game, that none of us got through our first FRAME, all so you can get the meal order taken by the people sitting at the table 5 feet to the right of my wife. Are you f....ing kidding me? Unbelievable. The ambulance came, my wife went to the hospital, which we spent the better part of the evening in the ER, only to cancel the rest of our vacation scheduled for Branson Missouri due the fact she needed surgery.
I was charged 14 dollars for my son to bowl one frame. I managed to talk her out of charging me and my wife. But my brother paid 33 dollars to play. Ya. Our first frame wasnt even through and we were charged. No contact info was taken by them at all. The owner never attempted a phone call to us to offer us condolences or nothing. As a small BBQ business owner, you best believe that if someone got hurt in my facility, I would do everything in my power to make it better. They did nothing of the sort. We will never step foot in the place again. Which sucks, because I heard the food was really good, and the reviews made it seem pretty cool.
