This Fish Shop is classified in the category of Seafood restaurant.
Food is great, freshness is above par, the only downside is the picnic style tables which are hard to get in/out of, if you're older or bigger (I'm not, but many in my party were.), and since they're side by side in rows of 3, it's hard to carry a conversation with the tables beside/behind you without twisting around uncomfortably. Easy fix would be to use the same pub height tables in the ante room, or get more traditional table seating (i.e. wheelchair accessible).
I love that we have a local fish market with helpful staff that has seafood flown in daily. Don't be afraid to ask questions. It's the place to get fresh ahi tuna, shrimp & just about everything else sea related. They also have excellent sushi and other seafood dishes on the restaurant side. Pro Tip: bring a small cooler or insulated bag when you purchase fresh fish and they will pack it with ice for your journey home.
The Seattle bake was amazing!!! The owner come out and gave the experience a personal touch. Here you truly feel at home and welcomed. The food was absolutely great, fresh and delicious.
We have gone twice. This is now our go to seafood restaurant. Keep up the AWESOME work!
I'm not a fish person, but this is where we met. They don't have much for the non-fish people. But everyone else that had fish were very happy with their food and portions. I felt prices were a little high, but the quality and freshness of their food were worth it.
The food was as fresh as you can get. Fish tasted like it was just caught in the gulf and cooked. Very good and highly recommend this unique restaurant and seafood market. The owner said they have fresh gulf fish brought in several times a week.
I love this Restaurant. Absolutely love the fresh fish and especially the sushi; however, the temperature in the restaurant was so very cold that I probably will no go back for awhile, at least until the weather warms up. I asked them if their heating was broken, and they advised me it wasn't; so I am not sure what the situation. They told me they had just turned it up all the way up at 12:15 when I got there and it never warmed up. I had to wear my winter coat the entire time I ate. This is not the first time the temperature was unbearable. I truly enjoy this restaurant and the people here, but I have mentioned this to them several times to no avail.
Excellent food and great selection on the menu. Restaurant is very laid back and casual -- you can dine outside on picnic tables also. Great variety of items to try. I've had about 8 different meals and none of them were disappointing. Service used to be a little slow, but has improved the longer they have been open. It's on my regular list of places to visit.
It was the best seafood I've ever eaten!
Lobster roll tasted old and all onion no lobster flavor. Otherwise its always awesome food here and will always come back to see whats new to try. Had blue crab hush puppies..yumm!!! Mahi mahi was perfect of course! A great place to dine outside as well.
A friend and I went for our first time to your restaurant for lunch. We both tried the fish and chips. We were very impressed by the fish, so wonderful to have fresh fish in this area. We were also impressed by our waiter, James, for whom we had many questions. He was so good to find out answers to everything. We will definitely be back to try other things on the menu & we hope all the servers are as good as James.
Good food and atmosphere
We enjoyed a terrific lunch here today. The waitress was fantastic. She answered all my questions and I took her recommendation and had the seafood soup. It was absolutely delicious and perfect for a cold day. We also tried the fried calamari, clam chowder, and chicken Alfredo. All of the seafood was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back soon. Hats off to the chef!
Our first visit was amazing. The servers were friendly attentive and helpful. The menu had a wide variety of seafood, cooked to perfection and food was fresh and tasty.
Great Food, Friendly Service
Saturday evening, food (fried grouper and grilled halibut) was good. Service was fast and nice. Will visit again and recommend it for dinner. It would be nice if they also opened a real fresh seafood market at the same location.
Slipping and tripping. This was the salmon roll from take out. It has a carrot! In it. Obviously not salmon. Absolutely terrible.
I haven't been here in years and I've really missed out. I had the sundried tomato swordfish special and it was incredible. I've had good swordfish and bad swordfish... this was very good. My wife had the Amberjack special which was also very good. My parents got the fish and chips and they said it's as good as what they'd get in Maine. We cant wait to go back and try the sushi menu!
Absolutely the best fish and sushi in town.
Awesome food and great service! I highly recommend this place if you like Seafood. Isabela is the most amazing waitress.
Super fresh seafood, great service & fun atmosphere! We enjoyed everything we tried including the crab cakes, sushi, scallops and grouper. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Had the seafood tower.... AMAZING best describes it!
Every time we've had dinner there, food is awesome and so is the service!! Olivia has been our server everytime, and shes just great!! Fantastic seafood!!!
Great selection of seafood.
Great fish n sea food good prices
Fresh seafood friendly atmosphere and excellent service. I would recommend.
The food was great! There were 6 of us and all entrees looked delicious. Service was a bit slow even though they weren't real busy. I definitely recommend and will return.
Freshest fish, service awesome, great atmosphere
Had lunch at Blu Fish again yesterday. The fresh ahi tuna and avocado salad was perfectly prepared, and the service was fast and friendly. I make a conscious effort to support this restaurant and market. The owners have invested a lot into this community. They also support Dress for Success Northwest Arkansas. Chef Mandy was one of the guest chefs at last October's sold out Little Black Dress Dinner Party. Thanks Blu Fish!
Don't be fooled by the chill exterior the food/fish is AMAZING! I wouldn't go anywhere else for seafood. The quality and flavor make up for the waitstaff which is hit or miss.
Best sea food around NWA.
I'm pregnant right now so I'm missing my Blu. I love this place. The Best. I'll be back soon.
Great Gumbo friendly
The best seafood place in Northwest Arkansas, You can dine or pick-up raw seafood from their market. The seafood is flown in fresh; they also have lunch and dinner specials. Recommend you call ahead or make an on-line reservation as they could be very busy!
Delicious. Had the halibut and it was cooked to perfection. There a large party taking up the whole dining area to the left of the entrance, so we opted to eat in the foyer area. It was a bit chilly when the people opened the door, but the food was worth it. Will go again.
I ordered 2 veggie rolls to go. Wait was as expected but I did not receive utensils or soy sauce. Also, my veggie rolls had little bits of fish roe on them. Unacceptable. If you offer veggie options, please use care when preparing them to avoid cross-contamination and angry vegetarian/vegan customers.
I used to work at this seafood shack and the owners buy frozen Swai packs at Sams club and use that as there Grouper. Everything is dead, and frozen overnight. Surprised that they are still open. (and so are all the sale reps I talk to).
Never been too impressed. Been a few times. It's pretty expensive for what you get, and what you get is just okay
Wow! Best seafood restaurant in NWA. Friendly service and freshest fish around. I had the blackened amberjack special with rice pilaf and green beans. Husband had the Cajun Alfredo. Excellent.
Funky place feels like eating in your buddy's work shop/garage. Wait staff could use some training, but their fish is pretty good.
Mussels, clams & de-veined shrimp for our shrimp boil. All fresh and tasty.
Great fresh fish, service is good. Casual environment
Ordered through Bite Squad. Driver requested they make sure everything was there since I ordered hot and cold food and there was only one container. Restaurant said food was all there. Driver asked me to double check because he didn’t believe everything was there and is not allowed to open the container. Missing half of my food and the hand roll I ordered was torn. Not thrilled.
This was a great find. It's a modern place with a rustic feel. The food and service was great and I plan to go back to try some more items.
Great selection of food all sourced fresh and never farm raised. Exciting to see this place grow as the market district grows. Room for improvement but this is the only fresh seafood available for purchase in the region and that alone makes these guys culinary heroes in my book.
Wonderful fresh seafood everything is great! Forgot to mention... must try their lobster roll, reminds me of being back in New England...
Really good place to try sea food!
Good food but it wasn't hot just warm. Maybe it was the cold outside. Our waitress brought another bill of gumbo that was warmer. Will try it again.
Great food! Get there early for a good seat.
The Lobster bisque was lukewarm with two tiny pieces of lobster. The shrimp cocktail was good and the cocktail sauce was excellent (5 shrimp $13). Also the clam chowder was outstanding. We ordered a house salad, $11. It was supposed to have bacon, eggs and croutons which were all missing. I felt that it was overpriced for the overall quality.
Love, love, love!! I will be back. Everything was so delicious and the wait staff was so nice. Wonderful place!
Outstanding food and Great Service! Prices are reasonable! Inside is a little cramped, its worth it!!
Great food. Great service. Had the halibut ... fantastic!
100% fresh seafood and exceptional customer service
Blu Fish has the best seafood in NWA!
Arrived at 530 before the dinner rush. Sat at our table for 15 minutes before putting in a drink order. Ordered 4 sushi rolls and waited 45 minutes. No re-visit from the waitress. We ended up leaving the restaurant. We will not be back.
Good selection and quality. A little limited on craft beer selections but if you're not too demanding, you'll find something to drink with your dinner. Nice outside seating area - picnic tables but ok. Be very specific with the waiter or waitress if you have any food allergies (shellfish, etc) as things get mixed around.
Good food and a nice fish market
Awesome spot with great vibes, tasty food and exceptional service. I had the special of the day - Honey crusted Seabass and it was unreal! Highly recommend a visit.
Food is nice, but a bad experience will keep us from coming back... Ordered an appetizer with our two entrees. After an extended wait, and the waitress assuring us our food was just about ready she brought out our entrees. She explained the staff hadn’t heard the ordered for the appetizer but they were working on it now. I said that’s fine, just skip it, don’t worry about it we didn’t want it. She apologized and came back shortly and said they would go ahead and give is the appetizer free of charge. When the bill came she explained she couldn’t give us the appetizer for free after all but took 20% off. We wanted the appetizer prior to the meal (the way these things normally work), not after our meals - the only reason we accepted it that point was because we were told it was free.
Freshest seafood I've had in quite sometime....great service......my feller is from New England and was a commercial fisherman for sometime and he agrees HIGHly recommended
Service was very good. Enjoyed recommendations. Food was awesome.
It is always a pleasure to eat at Blu. We drive two hours to enjoy the best seafood. It is worth it!! Thank you
Yummy we bought fresh seafood here. Service is excellent, helpful and friendly. The seafood and fish was fresh.
You can't go wrong dining at Blu! Barry, the owner, is a great guy. Food is amazing!
We came for a brunch special. This place is great! The staff is incredibly nice. The atmosphere is fun. Great for a date night or a family trip. The kids menu is good and they will enjoy the lobster tank, fish tank, and picnic table section
Got take out through Grubhub. Waited ten minutes after telling the waitress I was there for my order and it was sitting on the counter the entire time. Sushi was ok, hush puppies were so salty they were inedible. Not sure of other local choices, but this one disappointed.
This place was amazing! It's small and cozy, and Alli was the best! Told us all the specials and her favorites. The place was a little hot, but not uncomfortable for me, but if you are sensitive to heat, you might want to pick light clothes. The food was delicious and beautifully served. Will be coming back.
Good fresh sushi, we waited awhile for food to come out.
Low key restaurant where the owner treats you like a friend. Oh, and the food is great! Love this place!
I and my date were very pleased with our food. Their service was above average. The crowd didn't bother me after we received our orders. We had fried and grilled shrimp, and salmon. It was great. Although it was crowded, I know it's because their food is great.
Try this place for fresh seafood.
We are glad we have a restaurant like Blu in our area. The sushi is out of this world. Just recently we had the Maine bake with an extra lobster. The lobster was indeed the best we have ever tasted, so sweet and cooked to perfection. We have celebrated birthdays and "just because" we wanted to eat at Blu. The service is incredible and they look after you in whatever your needs are. Give it a try they will not disappoint. David and Yasmine Smith
I wouldn’t even feed my dogs your nasty forgotten fish.
This weekend I killed myself on the Rogers "Mount Whitney" gravel ride. I was hating life, I mean really hating life, and then it happened. I arrived at the lodge atop Mount Whitney and was greeted by fresh shrimp and smoked salmon provided by blue fish. Who does that? The food was incredible and it turned my frown upside down. Blu Fish House ROCKS!
Best seafood in NWA! Service and hospitality is unbeatable. The atmosphere is cool and super inviting.. with tables outside, coverage from the sun and great music... the food.. unrivaled.
Best seafood soup ever!
Delicious and great, super great people...
The crab legs and fish were awesome. However, the service was terrible and our waitress barely checked on us and did not refill drinks. The wait staff was preoccupied and huddled by the entrance. The lobster Mac and cheese had hardly any lobster and was obviously just reheated in the microwave.
AMAZING! Great food, very good service. The crab cakes where’s the best I’ve ever had
Great quality fish and clams! I make my own sushi and this is the place to go in this area if you want food quality fish. I usually purchase the blue fin tuna.
Excellent friendly good service.
This is horrible. I ordered the fish and shrimp tacos. 5 and 6 dollars for one taco a piece. The fish was very tough and chewing and the shrimp tasted chemical like bleach. Would not recommend at all. The Shrimp kids alfreda was also chemical taste and it had no Alfredo taste just permasian.
Amazing seafood options in NWA.
We 3 all had sandwiches and they were all really good. My wife substituted hush puppies for fries and that was a good choice. They are some of the best I have had. They have a market inside where u can buy fish. They have a whole sushi menu too. Indoor and outdoor seating. Decent sized parking lot that has a lot more cars in it today than customers eating. Not for sure why.. but still lots of free spaces. We had no wait on a weekday evening and food was out fast.
Great place love the service and food!
Exceptional food in every way! Favorite way to spend a Sunday.
Best seafood I have had in NWA.
This place is a joke i ordered take out it was 21 dollars for barely any food. Not even the correct amout of bisque. And it is litterly the worst lobster bisque ive ever had
Water taste like tap water. Service is so slow, had to ask for a server. Not friendly at all. Waiting for an order of basic coconut shrimp for about 30 minutes and still have not gotten my order.
The best sushi around! Mandy is awesome! And they are our only source when we want to make fresh seafood at home.
Food here is amazing! The wait staff was friendly, prompt, and willing to answer questions. Portion sizes ranged from small to outrageously huge depending on the number of people eating the dish. They had crawfish when we ate here for the season. My dad had to have it twice the weekend while he was visiting from out of state. The owner / manager was very active with his team members both in the kitchen and with the servers.
The service was very good. I calamari was excellent. Fish and chips were great. The gumbo and oyster soups we're tasty. I did not like the Lobster Bisque, it was out of balance and tasted as if the cream was broken. Great cuisine and experience overall.
This restaurant never disappoints! Freshest seafood in NWA. Great service!
Super happy with the sushi. It was delicious.
Great food, fish was fresh and waitress was nice and friendly
Great food!
Fish and chips were good. Sushi was fresh fish but not prepared so great. Service was friendly. Don't know whether AC was broken or if it is always sweltering?
Closest to fresh seafood that you'll get. Small restaurant with attached market. Causal dining, and amazing sushi.
Best seafood and sushi in NW Arkansas.
Good food definitely like this place
Outside of the fact that when we arrived the sushi chef had just left, we wanted a roll, the experience was great! The patio provided ample space as well as air circulation as to not get hot. The staff was quick to get us a seat outside, we requested, and take our order. The food arrived shortly after & our server kept an eye on our table but without being too intrusive. We are looking forward to visiting again in the future!
Excellent fried scallops although you only get 6 with the 18.00 meal. Excellent coconut shrimp appetizer
The Owners were great folks; loved talking with them! Service was outstanding and the food was exemplary! I can't wait to return. Go Packers!
Excellent clam chowder. Will definitely go back for that. A bit pricey on some menu items.
Save your money and go to sushi house. Ordered from here from bite squad ordered 40 bucks worth of sushi and had to go to chick fil a after bc their rolls were tiny and they forgot soy sauce and the sweet chili sauce I had requested... extremely disappointed in the quality and price.
This place is fantastic. Truly the best, freshest fish and sushi in at least a 200 mile radius. We are so happy to live close enough to enjoy Blu Fish House when ever the mood strikes us.
Exceptional swordfish and service! Better food than at fresh fish restaurants in our hometown of Denver. This will be a definite return spot in the future!
: The fish at this place is out of this world! Absolutely made me want to come back much more often. Everything I thought I would not like ( especially tartar sauce), I LOVED!
So I'm going to post my review now, after having my friends review modified somehow. He took pics comparing a real grouper sandwich to what we were served here and there is no comparison. I get it, a lot of local people probably think that it's great fresh seafood, but anyone with real experience eating fresh quality seafood would be less than pleased with what they are served here as well and judging by other reviews that proves true. I am happy for the people who enjoyed it, and I do hope they continue to, but just a warning to people that are picky about the fresh fish they are served
Ordered Sushi - Blu and Blu Magic both tasted really good.
Meh service, meh food. Impolite waitress. Wrong orders. Luke warm beers. Won’t be back.
Fantastic food, fantastic service. Very accommodating to our tweaks of the meals. Highly recommended!
Excellent food and good service, but their pop machine was broke so we only had water to drink. Otherwise a good place for seafood.
Great place for both seafood that's cooked, as well uncooked. It's a restaurant on the left and market on the right.
Fresh fish marquet y restaurante
Over priced. Had oysters and well they were not up to any kind of good standards. Our server acted like they were doing a favor to even walk by us. I understand that places have good days and bad days. Today was a bad day. Sorry but I honestly believe that I can't recommend this place.
Fresh fish great atmosphere good service. Highly recommend
Great seasoned crawfish. Their steak and shrimp tacos are awesome too.
Food was good...ordered the fish and chips and it wasn't greasy, fries are fresh cut potatoes and order the ranch for dipping sauce (homemade) was a great combination.
Had the Fish&Chip Fish was great, batter on the fish was nothing but hot oil, with no flavor at all. Great fish house, something happen to the beer batter, or oil was to hot or who knows, we will go back as they have alot to choose from
Blu is amazing and Flies in the freshest Seafood in Arkansas. Can't wait for the Sushi Restaurant at the Hive!
Good peel and eat shrimp!!
Where to start? The appetizers weren't horrible but they were burnt (crab cakes). The Lobster Bisque tastes like cream soup with a hint of seafood. It's the entrees that are the killer. The swordfish was so over cooked you couldn't cut it without a steak knife. I ordered mine, then about a minute later, the table behind us gave their review of the same entree. I missed it by 60 secinds, otherwise I would have known better. Then onto the Sampler plate. The Calamari was good, the other 3 things, not so much. The whitefish still had the silver skin on it - shudder - then fried. Inedible. The fries were tasteless and full of oil, you could squeeze it out. The shrimp (P&E) was so so. If you like Old Bay, def order it. If you like shrimp with a hint of Old Bay, stay away. I ate 2 bites of the appetizer, and 2 bites of the entree. Partner had even less of the sampler. Yet the waitress just asked if we wanted a box, we said no, and she happily charged us $100. Side note: if you want to hear the person you are with, sit outside. Sorry to say, thumbs down on the Blu.
Incredible. Cannot recommend enough.
The seafood is always fresh and I love to try their specials. I also enjoyed the different and not "typical" types of fish they have every now and then! It's not just cheap seafood, good for a nice lunch with friends and family
Great seafood at a great price! Rustic dive with friendly service!
Service was great and the fish fajitas were very good! Would recommend!
The BEST sea food ever! Great service! We will be back!
This was honestly one of the worst restaurant experiences my husband and I have had in a long time. We had to send the $23 rubbery steak back to the kitchen because it was severely under cooked. Even the waiter was like “oh, wow. That’s barely cooked at all.” Then I found plastic saran wrap in my lobster Mac n cheese that the waiter kindly explained was because they don’t make it fresh on spot but that they pre-make it and wrap it. I will say our waiter was perfectly pleasant and kind, but the atmosphere, experience, and food was terrible. We ended up not eating more than half of our food before asking for the check. I would expect way better quality for a $60 tab than what we received.
Great food. Good service. Excellent music. What more can you ask for?
I'm giving 5 stars simply for the service, the food, and the atmosphere. Prices for some items are high, but there are average priced items as well. It was rather loud inside, but the rustic atmosphere was appealing to us.
The best seafood around. The owner is always at the restaraunt helping to improve the service and experience. I stay away from the sushi though. While the fish is fresh the sushi just isn't great.
Fresh seafood in the Ozarks!? Just shut up and take my money.
Fresh fish flown in several times a week? A very professional and accommodating staff? That's what you get at Blu. Get the swordfish, trust me on this.
Great seafood restaurant. My wife really liked the sushi.
Food is really good. A little on the expensive side. But you are paying for the freshness.
Tasting menu was good a few weeks ago. Went back and had a "stew." It wasn't bad but very dry for something called stew. Maybe if it was named something else? It was dry bits of indistinguishable vegetables and monkfish. Good flavors, but dry and served with dry rice.
Excellent food. On busy nights, reservations recommended.
Had the clam chowder. It was great. Will definitely go there again. Bread is fresh baked in house daily.
Have eaten dinner here, excellent service and food quality was fantastic! I use the the “store” more often, buying fresh seafood to cook at home. The service is outstanding, most recently I bought Sea Bass and he not only explained how to prepare when I asked but also provided the sauce they use there for me to take home. They consistently do these little things that go above and beyond and make it very worthwhile to shop here. Thank you!!!!
We come here for sushi and raw oysters on occasion. Service is good and fish is less than 12 hours fresh. It's flown in daily so it gives the sushi the perfect quality. The Alination is by far the best Imo, tuna, caviar, and lobster is an excellent combination paired with the house geikikan sake. Recommend for fish lovers. If they had better Sake selection it would be nice.
Good fish tacos. Satisfyingly larger than street tacos and very flavorful. Prices are a little steep.
The blackened Florida grouper sandwich didn't last long enough to take a picture. We lived in Tampa for over a decade and this was the best one yet.
Wonderful and tasty fresh seafood. Great service, beer and wine. Nothing fancy, just plenty to eat.
Good food but I can tell the employees weren’t happy. Probably don’t get paid but minimum wage.
Great brunch guys this was delicious Well planned and all around phenomenal time
My wife Latricia and I stopped in yesterday to get 5 lbs of Crawfish. Met the owner Barry, great guy! My kind of people. He was on a mission, to make us his new best customers. He just wouldn't have it until wr had sampled the Wild Gulf Coast Brown Shrimp, then Gumbo, then Catfish, then Hush Puppies. Please forgive me, not being boastful, but we are from the Gulf Coast, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana. I've probably cooked and eaten more Shrimp, Crawfish, Live Blue Crabs, Oysters, Snapper, King Crab, Snow, Crab, Lobster, Catfish, Grouper, Sea Bass, Mackeral, Amberjack, Cobia, Speckled Trout, Lemon Fish, Monk Fish, Trigger Fish, Swordfish, Blue & Yellow Tuna, than most people have ever seen. My point, "I'm pretty well versed in Seafood", jus Sayin'! So, when somebody wants to impress me I just say "Hurt Me"! Barry, did a GREAT job! far and away the BEST Seafood, I've eaten since I moved here 3 years ago. In fact his fried Shrimp was on par with the BEST Fried Shrimp, from my favorite fried shrimp restaurant, famous for fried shrimp, Doc's Seafood, in Orange Beach Alabama. Everything sampled was excellent. I know this was wordy, but well deserved. Barry, you WIN! Thanks, Dean & Latricia Clinton. As promised, we'll be in for lunch next Saturday.
Best fish and chips I've had. Goes really well with a bitter beer like a pale ale or IPA imo
Service was friendly. Oysters were good. Everything was way overpriced for the portion sizes and casual atmosphere. Think picnic tables and paper towel rolls. My husband ordered lobster bisque which is one of his favorite dishes and it was awful. Two tiny pieces of crab and it tasted like socks (his words not mine). It tasted flavorless and meh to me. Won't be back.
It was pretty rough. I went 20 minutes without and drink and then they got it wrong twice. Then almost all of our food was no good. I highly do not recommend!
We had lunch here today. We had a sushi roll I do not remember the name but it was the best sushi I have ever had. My husband had the grilled swordfish and I had herb crusted red snapper with mushroom risotto. They were amazing and worth the prize. The waitress was so attentive and friendly. Would visit here again when we visit Bentonville!!!
Food was not worth the price unfortunately. The restaurant was empty and still the service was very very slow. Waited a long time to be seated. We only ordered a couple of appetizers and the special and sodas to start....Staff was in the back, could hear them chatting but i had no way to get their attention when needed. Unfortunately they were complaining about their owner! Regret spending my money there.
Had a blast with most awesome service ever and food fresh off the coast. Will most definitely be back
Fresh delicious sushi!
Attending a conference in town and asked a local colleague to take me somewhere unique; a hidden gem. He brought me to Blu, which I questioned as a Florida native. It was great! The food was just as fresh and flavorful as we’d get along the coast, the drinks were great and the service top-notch. In fact, I went the following night with customers. Everyone enjoyed it!
Fish and chips were delicious, service was good but the gumbo was microwaved. I was very disappointed, it was decent but the different temps in the soup were not good. Also I don't think the shrimp was the correct safe temperature.
Best fish & chips in NWA. I look forward to trying all the menu items!
