REVIEWS OF OdySea Aquarium IN Arizona

Stewart Lawler

Absolutely beautiful aquarium. Perfect place to bring the family, your next date, or go stag if you're even remotely interested in seeing exotic animals. The animals are majestic and the staff is very well versed in marine-zoology. Entry price looked expensive at first, but I can honestly say it was worth every penny.

Christopher Vidaic

One of my favorite aquariums that I have ever visited. Tons of fish from various biomes. Interesting tanks and information.

Taura M'Vemba

This place was great. Lots to do and see. I'm on vacation from the east coast and swung by to check it out. 5 stars for me if not so expensive especially for younger kids, lots of different things to do and everything was pricey if you wanted to do more then just aquarium. Other wise it was a great place.

Kay Willies

Enjoyed the aquarium however, the penguin interaction experience was the best! The staff was very knowledgeable and engaging. Worth every dime spent, something I will remember always.

Joseph Fagan

Lots of hands on and fun exhibits. Convenient location. Annual pass is well worth it.

Christine Long

Great place too see the sea life!! We we even got to see the penguin march! They where soo cute!! We have season passes!! So we can go anytime & they do different activities all month!! Check it out!! The octopus is cool too her name is noodle!!

Robert Wilt

Great display of marine life. Easy parking. Great staff. Snack bar on premises, other food stops in same complex. Wheelchair friendly.

S Araiza

This is the perfect place to take the kids in the summer. I’m glad we got the annual memberships. It’s hard to find places to go while staying out of the heat. They have a great little cafe that sells GF hamburgers, snacks and alcohol. It’s located in a big plaza with other attractions to see and restaurants to eat as well.

Genevieve Winters

Review from a kid: It is a great place. There are a lot of fun fish. It's amazing.

Dustin Hambrick

This is one of the best aquarium experiences I've had. There was so much to see we didn't even get to it all. While it was a bit more expensive than anticipated, I felt like we got our money's worth. Many different species of animals to view, and even a few you can touch which was a fun experience for us all. Would recommend for a fun outing with the kids or interesting date destination.

Andrew Knapp

Really cool aquarium. The touch exhibits are huge and have a great variety of critters. I'd never been grabbed by an anemone before, but now I can cross that off the list. They also have weird fish with legs, sea turtles with bubble butts, and a huge alligator named Mighty Mike. We spent a solid four hours without any add-ons, so decent value for the price of admission.

Stacie Kolberg

Nice place to visit, wasn't too crowded on a weekday. Liked the hands on activities and several touch tanks. Never saw the sharks that I thought I heard about.

Ryan A

Thank you to who ever dreamed up such a wonderful aquarium. It has the largest turtles and sharks we've ever seen. Gotta visit the moving submarine exhibit. Very special...

CJ

Great place for the family tons of fun! The prices are a bit high but its worth it. The facility is very very clean and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Lots of different things to do while here. I would definitely recommend this place to burn off some energy! Make sure to stop by gift shop they have some cool things!

Charles Lindbloom

Admirable aquarium for desert locale. Good place to take kids for the afternoon.

Melissa Sutton

The seatrek was an amazing experience. We went there with college age daughters and they absolutely loved the experience. Out of everything we did in Phoenix and Scottsdale (and we are very active) this was by far the favorite activity of the trip. They suggested to rent the underwater camera and we r so glad they did . Its not that expensive for what you get to do as right now in the summer it's half price. The staff make it so much fun!!!! Highly recommend.

Robert Thompson

It was a nice visit. Maybe on the expensive side. Not bad though. School outings can make it crowded. Have not been there on the weekend so don't know how crowded. Go. It was fun. Several places to eat near by.

Phantasmal Forerunner

Great place. Very loud at times tho due to the acoustics so was a bit overwhelming with the toddlers around. Very beautiful. Very informative. Lots of workers around giving information and being helpful. 10/10 visit again. :)

Genevieve Jesel

This place is fantastic! I cant think of a better way to spend the day with something cool around every corner. Great place for a date or family excursion. We'll be back every chance we get.

Zrai Husky

It was a good experience. I really enjoyed it. Can't wait to go back to learn and see more!

Zackary Mullin

Amazing experience! Took the family and spent most the day. The kids petted the stingrays for about an hour before doing the same in the star fish and anemia aquarium. Best aquarium in the state!! The bathroom is rated #1 in the nation... Sharks in the bathroom!!!

MaryJane Connell

It's an amazing aquarium in the middle of the desert. It's organized, informational and entertaining. I took my grandsons there and they loved it. The staff were knowledgeable and available.

Thomas Valvo

Fantastic place to bring family or children. Very enjoyable experience. You can spend several days in this massive aquarium.

Filip Hubert Suwik

One of our best experience in Arizona!!! Great for families and kids. It was amazing to touch the rays in open container.

M C

This is a medium-sized aquarium with thoughtful exhibits. Positives: nice touch tanks, boosters so smaller kids can see inside tanks and visible, informative screens that tell about what's inside exhibits; negatives: super expensive (check out the prices on their website). I would recommend this place for most age kids, it's not overwhelming and it's well thought out and put together

Stacey Laberge

Love this place my son is almost 3 and has a blast Everytime we go. A yearly pass is worth to cost if you have kids who love fish. I'm 31 and I love it there. Would go every weekend if I had a vehicle

Sarah Hooten

Very disappointed. We spent $100+ on tickets to only spend about 30 minutes walking through the whole aquarium. My niece had more fun walking through Cabelas afterward seeing their taxidermy animals and fish tank than at the actual aquarium. Don't waste your money. I feel like they made it such a small place so that you'll buy tickets to the other attractions on sight like the Butterfly Wonderland and such...

Colleen Chukwu

Loved the mix of education and all the experience stations for the kids. Especially loved the submarine mission. We got to see a penguin take a walk around the aquarium. A little dark inside so hard to read the plaques about the species. Staff was very friendly.

Omar Contreras

Pricey but very fun. I would definitely be back. Very unique restrooms!

Kevin Kuether

Lots of variety nicely displayed. Definitely a small aquarium though. The proximity to other attractions enhances convienece but cost starts to add up. On the upside you can make a full day here.

Richard Blatman

Very interesting and informative aquarium for adults and children. Loved the interactive exhibits where you can touch fish and under water marine life. Spend an afternoon enjoying the exhibits, including the penguins. There is a small food area where you can catch a quick bite and a drink and then continue the tour of the aquarium. They have kids rides so if you decide to get an annual pass (go as many time as you want in a year), it's a fun place to take the kids to spend the day during the hot summer months.

ReSpawn Gamez

This place is a rip off, way overpriced.. dinosaur exhibit is not worth going to and they don't even tell you about different colored wristbands for the kids activities which my daughter couldn't do. The aquarium is okay but not worth going back to due to price. Definitely stay away from this place unless you feel like wasting money.. 200 just to go to the aquarium and dinosaur exhibit for me, my wife and 3yr old daughter and the dinosaur exhibit is very small.. won't go back

Zeheria Zan

Amazing experience. Odysea has such a vast variety of exhibits and touch tanks. The family absolutely loved it. The lighthouse cafe had great meal options and everything was delicious. Outside of Odysea there are many more attractions, shops and restaurants. I think we will come back and invest in a yearly pass.

Matt Evans

Definitely up there in price but it was a wonderful experience. The exhibits they have set up are really modern and top notch. Quite a bit of interactivity available as well. We didn't eat or do the ride and ended up being there less than 1.5 hours which was a little less than I expected. Still a great aquarium though.

Brian Reeves

Really nice aquarium with lots to see and do with kids and adults of all ages. Definitely will visit again soon. We went after 4:30 pm for the discounted rate but you probably want to get something to eat before going as the Cafe closes shortly thereafter. We have found that other aquariums are humid inside but this one is perfect inside, especially when it is 110 outside!

Ron Steege

Such a great place! Its an amazing aquarium and there are so many great things to see. But then you also enjoy the great quality food and the kind, engaging employees. Clean restrooms

Kevin Fung

Best aquarium in Arizona, but I mean it's literally one of two aquariums and the other one is located in a mall. Other then that fact, it was still a great time to go! The price isnt too bad especially of you only do the aquarium. Check groupon for deals, but their online site has the best pricing so far. We went during a weekday so there wasn't too many people there but still had plenty of employees around to give interesting facts! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Spent a lot of our time touching rays and it was awesome. Great place to go with the family or a date! Oh yea, like their plaque says, BEST bathroom ever!

Sherry Nelson

I had lots of fun here. It's a beautiful aquarium with lots to see. I did the penguin tour and had so much fun! I happened to be the only one doing it at that time so it was extra special!! Theres a lot of other things to do out there so expect to spend the day out there doing things! I'll be going back and bringing my husband next time.

Michael Bland

Really pretty cool, and decently priced. Was stuck in Phoenix and had to kill time, but definitely glad I stumbled upon this place. Staff was friendly. I was there on a workday so not super busy. Great exhibits!

Tiffany O'Neill

Really fun place to go for the kids. A little higher in the price and if you want to go back to the food court, there really isn't a straight cut back but not that huge of a deal. Penguins are my favorite and you can see them playing and swimming really well. Would recommend but be prepared to pay high ticket price to get in.

Andy Siegel

The coolest underwater sanctuary in the desert. They have this really cool octopus, and some chillin' penguins, some cute otters, for whatever reason a sloth, and, well, I won't spoil the rest. Great way to beat the heat. Highly recommend using the bathrooms in the lobby. They have a breath taking surprise inside.

becca itkowitz

Gorgeous, we loved it. Make sure you use the lower level restrooms by the desk... You can get quite the view while washing your hands. Check times for feedings and activities. We had the octopus talk essentially to ourselves. The guide was so informative. We enjoyed feeding the rays and exploring the aquarium. The gist shop has some lovely themed items. We enjoyed it. See the butterflies next door too! The aquarium is attached to an outdoor mall that has several restaurant options, a candy shop and also currently houses a temporary Titanic museum.

Jessica Ferrier

I'm no aquarium expert I can't say if this is a good fish mansion or not.. What I can say is that in my experience of going twice is that it is not the place for toddlers. Way expansive and lacking some attention grabbers. Very pretty and clean, and the staff is very friendly.

Deborah Kinnard

My adult daughter and I recently enjoyed a relaxing Friday afternoon stroll through the aquarium. Many great exhibits with a wide variety of fish, HUGE alligator, penguins, a sloth, touch tanks... and a rotating "VOYAGER" auditorium with sea lions, sea turtles, and sharks! You MUST check out the NATION'S BEST RESTROOMS located near the entrance/exit!!!

ross bern

Fabulous experience for kids and adults once you get past a rude, very unpleasant, ticket sales person with a bad attitude [needs to find another job]. Exhibits are amazing and the facility is well planned to keep your interest. Be sure to allow lots of time to really enjoy all the aquarium has to offer.

June Garcia

Great place to relax and unwind. It's definitely a nice change of scenery from the desert we all see in the valley every day. Well worth the tickets. Fun for all ages.

darlene rich

Did the combo with the butterflies and the aquarium. Cashier was very accommodating and allowed me to purchase the 6 adult tickets for our 2 seniors and 4 almost that age for a 10 dollar savings per person. Fabulous educational experience with the butterflies throughout their life cycles. Had exhibits, movie, hands on. Conservatory was beautiful with about 500 butterflies of different colors and sizes. I was blessed to be kissed by 4 butterflies at various stages in my visit. Had on Coola sunscreen that smells like mango and coconut. Very crowded in the aquarium. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Well worth the price of admission.

Jennifer Johnson

There is a SHARK IN THE BATHROOM!!! No it’s not fake or stuffed it’s a real shark in a tank! So fun!!! Omg did I mention there is a shark in the bathroom

Stephanie Klages

Reasonably priced, and super interactive! Toddler approved! A bunch of petting tanks for exploring minds. :) def. Worth it.

David Biewald

Very nice aquarium it is in a complex with lots of other things to do. My only problem it was Pretty expensive. $200 for admission 2 adults 3 kids just For the aquarium.

adriel coronado

I was very impressed with this aquarium. It's a must see: not a dull moment.

Vernon Waters

I applaud the caretakers of this wonderful exhibit of stunningly beautiful creatures. God's creative works on display. I truly enjoyed my visit.

Jody Allen

What a great way to spend the day- especially when it's hot outside. The exhibits were really nice, with some of them being interactive. It's pretty pricey and that's to be expected when there's so many animals to care for. I would go again!

Kris & Hailie Koloski

What an amazing staff at the aquarium! They are very accommodating and helpful, and their exhibits are fantastic! Even in situations in which they cannot control they are very giving and accommodating. Such wonderful staff and management!

Kathy Hagan

My brother and I spent the morning here and it was so much fun! Well worth the admission, so much to see and do, and we could take our time. Very interactive, loads of information , and lots of picture opportunities . We purchased the photo pack additionally, a real bargain with a souvenir book, 3-d photo, several small photos, with some great ones to digitally download. Well worth the price!

Leticia Mitchell

The rotating aquarium is the saving grace of this place. It was really fun and interactive. Also loved all of the save the earth merchandise. Fun place for families.

Tech sir

In short the experience is great. People around to answer questions and soooo many underwater creatures. The 3 star review is because of the way this place works, if you buy a gift card the purchase options are limited as all I could do was pay at the aquarium. I then later figured out that a gift card is ONLY good for admission, this means you can't use a gift card on food, gift shop, etc. Also, if you want to experience anything aside from the dolphin experience, it will cost you extra on top of the general admission. I want to take my girlfriends kid to see penguins up close and I have to pay for an adult too, plus the general admission for everyone. This just tells me this place is here to take every dollar you have. I will likely not be visiting much.

Lashel Sophia

It was a lot of fun, but for the price it doesn't really seem to deliver, except for maybe the butterfly parts! The aquarium part has all kinds of really good stuff, but it's like $50 a person, and, for example, I think it's more like $20 to go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which, you know: ocean. Aside from the obscene price it was a delight, but I don't think our family is going to go there again because a couple of us could take a trip to the Bay Area for the same price.

Fered Utes

We came here looking for new fish for our saltwater tank. They were so helpful and offered great suggestions. We walked out with new fish, a new bio orb tank, and decorations for the new tank. They have a GREAT selection of bio orb plants, too. I'm only docking a star because their fish are a little more expensive than other stores and their selection is a little limited. Otherwise, we really like this place!

Lady Doss

Tons of cool things to do here other than look at the fish.

Amanda Manning

My twin toddlers love it here! We've gone 5 times already this year and will likely go a few more. It's just long enough to keep their interest, but by the time they are done we are through it. Very kid friendly and the food in the cafeteria is surprisingly good. It can be a little hard to get through it with a large stroller when they are busy but definitely worth the trip. I just wouldn't necessarily recommend the rotating tank ride to people with toddlers, my girls get really bored during that part and start to act up. Otherwise it's a great way to spend an afternoon.

Chris OConnell

We always have a good time here, but today I have to give Trevor kudos for being so entertaining and informative. He looked like he really enjoys interacting with everyone. Thanks Trevor for a great time.

Kevin D

We really enjoy going to the OdySea. Got a year membership and frequent in the summer months to stay cool. Also like to play in the outdoor area and listen to music when available.

Sonia Contreras

Really great displays, and the way they care for their animals seems great. My only complain is their service. There was 30 minutes left to close and a staff member continously yelled out "we're about to close, we got thirty (sounded like 3) minutes" over and over and rushed my family, as well as others out. I felt like we missed out because of this

Lamies Fakhouri

In Arizona we are always looking for cool and fun activities and places to visit and to avoid the heat! Despite what’s is going on with the dolphin experience which is no longer there! The rest of the aquarium is fun! My son loves it there!

jim stray

Great experience for the whole family, my wife and I went with our grandson. Being under 2 he was free, he loved it! there are so many different types of fish, birds, reptiles, mammals, invertebrates to view and even touch. It was a sensory explosion for us all. The fun pictures as you enter and the helpful staff were an added bonus plus if you go after 430 it's almost half off. Do yourself a favor and beat the heat one afternoon. We took our time looking and reading the information about quite a few of the exhibits, we were there about an hour and a half. Pro tip: buy your tickets on the website and beat any line to get in

Slav Sekmedin

I felt pretty happy to know that such place rescues and provides shelter to unfortunate species. Not only their staff is friendly and dedicate full attention to any concerns, their smiles were genuine and welcoming. I showed up with my family to experience this unique place with my baby nephew, and we stayed until the very last minute. To see how weightless in harmony sea creatures play and interact was worth every bit of it. I wish the rest of the plaza was completely finished so that this place can be big, but then, no need to further scare those friends we come to see. Cool 3d videos and virtual reality trips, along with games for the kids and engineering works of art to entertain adults. Definitely worth coming back soon. Again, thank you for a wonderful experience and for great staff to accommodate it.

Caitlin Weiss

It's a wonderful aquarium but it can be very busy! Especially on the weekends when everyone brings their kids. I heard there is an adult night once a month and I would definitely be eager to go then. However, it is a little pricey for the amount of time it takes to go through the aquarium.

Cristina Delenela

The 360 view of the aquarium is a wonderful experience. We barely made it to the last showing and so glad we did. Also check out the bathroom! Best bathroom I've even been in! See pics!

Lucio Pihanna

It’s the largest aquarium in the southwest. 200,000 sq.ft. of space, 2 million gallons of water, 60 sharks, 70 exhibits, 6,000 animals, It can Accommodate over 10,000 people a day. Average length of a visit is 2.5 - 3 hrs. Lighthouse Cafe for food is inside. Other food and ice cream is outside. Other things to do like the Butterfly Wonderland & Titanic Exhibit, if you want to spend more time and money. Acres of free parking. Easy to get to right off the 101 highway. The best kept secret is going at exactly 4:30 pm for a greatly reduced rate of $25.00 per person. They close at 7 pm, but that still gives you 2.5 hrs. to see the place, at a time when there are less people. Groupon always has a deal for this attraction on line, otherwise it could get pricey, but still worth it.

sara Hart

Such an amazing place. I have gone a few times now and it was still just amazing. You can learn so much from reading all the information about each animal. The staff will help you with anything you need. I highly recommend going here. The aquarium is the only place I have visited.

Katie Martin

The aquarium was super cool but smaller than I expected! We spent 1.5 hours going through it - great for kids. The sea lions and penguins were cute. They have a lot of great things like the escalator down into a shark tunnel! The whole complex is pretty cool though - you can get food, try an oxygen bar, and get a massage all inside Odysea complex (no admission required).

Cisco Villegas

This place nickels and dimes you for everything. It's one immersive sales pitch directed at your children, and everything is overpriced. Looking for new and exciting ways to waste too much money? You've found your destination.

Nicholas Pappagallo Jr

Great aquarium in the desert! Went there for a date night and it was a special eat and view night... paid for the buffet and we enjoyed food and the fish! Highly suggest going as its a really nice facility. The food buffets could have been organized better, lines for no reason.

Kingston Ko

Not too many things better than an aquarium in the middle of the desert! We had a great time escaping the heat and viewing all the exhibits. There's petting tanks, penguin meet and greets, movies and even a ride. Ben the penguin guide was full of energy and helped get you motivated to see all the feathered friends. Would definitely revisit if I'm back in the area.

A K

This place is absolutely the best aquarium I have visited anywhere in the US so far; including the San Diego and Moneray bay aquariums. The diving adventure is out of this world. It is intimidating at the beginning but once you enter the water all that goes away. Kids have certain height/weight restriction, and need an adult along, call before booking tickets. My 10 year old had a blast!!

Sunny Vakkalanka

This is definitely better than the butterfly place next to it. The entrance has a more theme park-ish look to it, and once inside there are a lot of cool features. The restrooms have glass windows looking at an aquarium (voted best restroom of 2017!!) And there are two levels of exhibits. The events honestly are kinda boring, but the pathway that leads you through all the exhibits is really innovative. But still, kinda boring after the first time.

Andrew Tarango

This is a tricky review to write. The place is definitely a 5 star worthy place. It's very nice and it offers the ability to view amazing sea-life, as well as a few other animals. The only problem I have is with the price point vs. the experience. Although the experience is great, I just don't know that it's worth roughly $50 per person. I'd say $30 would be more reasonable but if money isn't an issue for you then it's worth the cost of admission. Otherwise, you can get a similar experience at sea life aquarium (without being able to pet sting rays though). For the cost, it would have been nice to get free bumper boat pass, maze pass, etc. Overall, you'll enjoy this place but I don't know that I'll go back for seconds.

Lovely Me

Very interesting and you get to touch the stingrays and other fish and watch the penguins walk by.

Danielle Miller

Ben is the best! He works in the aquarium and is amazing with children and extremely knowledgeable! His Halloween show was awesome as well. We love the events and try to come to as many as we can usually at least once a month and use our pass to get into aquarium.

Kristi Heikkila

Stunning experience. Cleanest tanks I've ever seen! Very well done

christopher stockstill

We had no idea what to expect went there on a family weekend from Tucson and ended up at the Odyssey aquarium we really enjoyed it and bonus that it was air conditioned more than enough fish to look at sharks and other sea life we will be back!

Walther Cantu

Great place to take the kiddos. You can easily spend 2-4 hours inside going through all the exhibits and attractions. There's even a cafe inside if you need to get some food while in there. We have the annual membership and it's totally worth it get the kids out of the house and be in a climate controlled room while it's in the hundreds outside. We've seen new exhibits and attractions every once in a while which is kinda nice when you go frequently. My kids love the tide pools, sharks and penguins.

Monica Roncancio

This aquarium is quite large and has a lot of attractions, my only reason for giving this review 4 stars rather than 5 is because most of the attractions that are interactive are for kids 6 or 8 years and older. My four-year-old loves to run around and see all the animals, but he is too small to reach into some of the touch pools and too young to take part in some of the interactive experiences. The aquarium has a lot of add on experiences, but each one costs a small fee so make sure you bring extra money. Over all, this aquarium is a lot of fun if you have the extra cash and time to move throughout the exhibits over a few hours. We will come back, although I think we'll have more fun when my son gets a little older.

David Castello

Great outdoor pavilion type development. I believe its open to anyone for food/drink hanging out and I believe they even have concerts at this development. The aquarium was better than I had expected with many interactive exhibits and a very cool flow in the building. There's a lot of glass in the walking areas to see the sea life swimming around. An escalator in a glass tunnel was Very impressive. I'll go again just to go through the tunnel again. Decently priced and great for all ages.

Cheryl Packham

An amazingly wonderful place full of learning and wonder. The space is clean and organized and makes it a space to get lost in the wonders of the sea. Navigating the space with children is great and allows opportunity to encounter animals in several touch pools. There is seating throughout to rest tired legs.

Kathleen Parmigiani

Love that they change the exhibits. We are season pass holders and love to visit and see new things each time as well as our old favorites. Great place to visit!

Alan Digan

I love learning things and not realizing the wealth of knowledge and information that I managed to gather while in a social setting. For example going to a company sponsored outing at the OdySea to see various marine life,as well costal dwelling mammal such as their resident, adorable, sloth. Of course there are Sharks, eels, piranhas, penguins, crabs, almost every form of sea life, one could imagine. Worth every second of your time spent there. What an interactive place| of shear discovery. One of the best in Phoenix. I,at times, felt like a school aged child on a "field trip" It reminded me of the wonder that still exists for me in the many gifts of the planet on which we live.

John E Angelone

Took the grandkids 6 1/2 & 4 1/2 yrs for a Saturday outing. They loved it. We bought seasons passes for all. We'll be back often.

Queen_ OfGoblins

I loved this so much. Its not crowded, there is SO much to see, and the ticket allows admission ALL DAY. Of course we went through another time!! And got glitter tattoos

Jessica A

Definitely expensive for a typical family of four. Glad they removed the dolphins. It’s like an aquatic amusement park in terms of prices. Food is crazy expensive, so are souvenirs. Thankfully the parking is free. Tons of spots to park too. The staff is always friendly, attentive and helpful. They do run discounts during some nights which is nice. Nice place to escape the desert heat for a few hours.

Jordan Dishon

Very unique aquarium. I love that they rescue injured turtles from boating accidents. This is one of those aquariums that preaches and teaches conservation and knowledge. Highly recommend for kiddo's.

Sandra King

Absolutely a must see. Great for the entire family. Lots of walking if someone has issues. So many interesting and fun things to see and do.

Emily M

OdySea is really fun for families. The price is really the biggest obstacle to any type of frequent visit. But there are great exhibits and lots of interactive opportunities for kids to play. It's a solid morning or afternoon of fun, but probably not all day. The rotating amphitheater is great, probably one of the most captivating parts.

Emily Griffy

My kids absolutely love visiting this aquarium. The fish and other animals are well cared for, and the touch pools are a lot of fun. The staff have always been great, particularly Neal! He takes the time to explain all about the animals, and he's so good with kids. My sons talk about him all the time, it's adorable. Thanks, OdySea!

seachelle222

We love visiting the aquarium and go about once a year. This time we also visited the butterfly wonderland and it was an excellent experience too! Koi pond with a little waterfall, huge colorful glass art in several places and butterflies everywhere you look. (Tip, if you choose to eat at the cafe, the turkey and ham sandwich was huge. We could have split one combo between 2 adults instead of ordering 2 lunches.)

Nicolas Merritt

I must say that for a family with younger kids if you have the time and money, this was a blast. We did it spur of the moment and thought that we were going to see dolphins as well, not knowing that part of the area was closed until further notice. My kids love the penguin and ray exhibits. It was a fun filled day. Cost was medium/high price so save up to go and it will be worth it

Dale W

A wonderful place! Pack up the kids and enjoy a wonderful day here. There is a lot more to say than just the aquarium, which was really, really a great one, compared to many others I’ve been to. Plus, it’s in the dog-gone desert! :-)

Pax Whitmore

Great experience! My kids loved it, especially the stingray touch pool. Spent a good 3 hours exploring all the exhibits, including seeing sharks and alligators and the giant octopus. Definitely recommended.

KatsMeow2

First time here. It's absolutely worth the membership. Just the Penguin Parade alone would have been worth the cost - add in all the other interactive activities and exhibits. Definitely going to be coming back here.

Ryan Lopatofsky

The aquarium in scottsdale is worth the visit. The areas are clean and they offer plenty of activities for kids during the tour. There is information about each species you visit and a fine time for the adults as well. The pricing isn’t too bad and I recommend getting there earlier then later as it can get busy. However, if you arrive later, you get a better rate for access. They have a few restaurants to eat at both inside the aquarium or the the center court area. Don’t forget to take the train ride or the indoor bumper boats. They offer valet parking for easy entry and exit.

Charlie Salwoitis

This is really a great aquarium. There's something for everyone, adults and kids alike. They have so many interactive exhibits, and your able to get really close to the animals! I am a member and bring my two year old here weekly. The only thing I don't like about this place is that the staff harrass me at the entrance everytime to take a picture.

J. Long

Odysea Aquarium- pleased with service. Nice informing overseers. Clean facility. Clean bathrooms. Food at food court not to bad. Nice gift shop. Ample parking. Kid rides (train, bumper cars & some kind of tunnel thingy)- need better indoor fun. Surrounding area around Odysea...many shops, little restaurants. Huge fun bubble/water zone for kids. Butterfly exhibit lame.

R A Seethaler

Kids had a wonderful time. Nicely set up so you are constantly visually in awe. Love the interactive areas.

This place was amazing we went on a slow day and got to see Mighty Mike that alone was worth the admission but all the other sea creatures we're great to look at as well which made the experience that much more amazing. I would highly recommend odysea aquarium to anyone I would say it's a good place to take friends or family for any occasion and especially for little children. Odysea aquarium did have plenty of places to eat and drink but I only tried coffee shop there the coffee was really delicious and comparable in prices to Starbucks and again the coffee was as good if not a little better than Starbucks I will definitely be heading back odysea aquarium again

Pat

Nice exhibits. Enjoyed the sharks. Nice employees, but pretty expensive for a family of 6 to attend. In 110 degree weather all the close parking was valet parking and more then half of the spaces were empty. As if they are not gouging you enough already they are requesting more money!!! I will not go back.

It’s fantastic that we have an aquarium here, but this one is small, I wish it was bigger. I’ve been spoiled by other aquariums like Chattanooga and Atlanta. I wish more was included, especially with a lifetime pass, it would be nice to have included Butterfly World. The aquarium is great for kids though. Chattanooga has a free Butterfly exhibit, two buildings to show case fresh and salt water, and less free open space that the cafeteria takes up. The exhibits here don’t match up, go take a tour and see. There was no reason to get defensive.

Ahtionah Ditzer

The experience and knowledge was pretty cool. My boyfriend and I enjoyed our visit, but the price was pretty high in our opinion ($40 for one adult).

I'm an annual pass holder and I love going there with the little girl I nanny for. She has an amazing time seeing all of the aquatic life and a few special animals there. But I think she likes the touch pools best, where she can interact with the aquatic life. That being said, there are three gentlemen that I especially want to note. Trevor, Stetson and Neal. These guys are amazing. At the touch pools, Trevor is very informative and interactive with the guests. He makes small talk and trys to connect to the guests. Stetson was amazing with the movie. He went above and beyond, trying to make the introduction fun and entertaining for kids, and when the movie was over, he held a survey and interacted even further with kids, parents and guests. Neal, also at the touch pools, has been amazing with people. Just like Trevor, he is very informative and interactive with the guests. He makes small talk and personalizes the talks and information to the guests, and when there is a larger group, he tends to focus on the kids to make them feel included. Being a nanny, I think that's the best part. He seems to just want the best experiences for the guests. He's even handed out small starter plants to guests.

Loads of fun for a family. Well taken care of facility. Highly recommend it. We bought season passes. My grandson loves the alligator called Mighty Mike. He is on loan there for awhile. Huge alligator. Take your family and enjoy a fun educational day there.

Cori Cassandra

Very cool place and lots of friendly people. Informative and the sharks were my favorite!

Myra Markley

I really enjoyed the odysea aquarium. All the animals look very healthy and their tanks clean. They're very easy to see which is nice. Fortunately I'm in a wheelchair so I couldn't get as close as most people could. But I still enjoyed the experience.

kf cuddelbugz

Nice aquarium, lots of great exhibits, many different forms of aquatic life to see and learn about, the shark tank and stingrays are great! Definitely check out the Voyager experience where you can see animals that you don't see elsewhere (like the sea lions and sea tortoises) we all had a great time, the adults and the young ones too!

Taylor Yellowman

Took our kids here and it was amazing. Definatly recommend going here for a family trip and seeing all the aquariums. And they have really good resturaunts.

Liz Landis

Once a month they host an adult night, I suggest if you don't have kids go on that night. The evening was chill and your able to move around the aquarium easy with not so many crowds. They even offer a few bars scattered throughout the aquarium and offer a live band. Had a super nice date night. Also check out the shark bathrooms, apparently they are 2017 America's best restroom. It's pretty neat washing your hands watching monster sharks swim by.

Danny Recinos

This aquarium is wonderful. I've been to other aquariums and this aquarium was one of the most well-organized that I've seen. There is a specific flow of foot traffic, and it was very clean and well-taken care of. I have no real complaints. An excellent place to spend a day!

Julia Chevalier

Had a great time at this aquarium. The decor was beautiful, I've never seen globe aquariums hanging from a ceiling or a hammerhead shark made of plastic bottles. It wa awesome.

Shawn Jefferds

I remember back when they first started talking about an aquarium in PHX, I asked, "are they insane?" In the summer it is a great place to head indoors, be around water and such amazing fish.

Jennifer Sater

It was wonderful. I loved all of the sea creatures. My favorite are the cute little sea horses and petting the rays. The pictures at the end, from the green screen at the beginning, turned out awesome. The penguins are adorable. I would definitely go again on my next opportunity.

Mike Hockett

We joined because as a rule we think this is a great spot. Made a trip across town to go during their regular business hours only to find out they were closing early and forgot to update their hours. The employee really couldn’t have cared less.

KKEVIN Giles

Good staff and be on the look out for the Makros snipefish! Makros means "great" in Koine Greek (common Greek) Right now they have a silent auction that could use a hit and it features a great autographed picture GW BUSH and his now-deceased father GHW Bush...I so want it! (RIP)

Julie Goldwater

We had a great time checking out all the wonderful fish and amazing aquariums. A fantastic experience.

Where should I start with this place. Once we finally got in the kids loved it. But don’t buy any extras online and don’t think you’re going to be able to use the 5$ towards anything inside the aquarium is going to work. They wouldn’t take it at the cafe inside or the gift shop so we don’t know exactly where you can use it... a bit on the pricier end and anything else is an add on price. The polar bar is actually free but it also led us to believe online that it was 3$ but it charged us 5$ a person. It’s free so don’t waste your money on that. Also tickets are non refundable so don’t buy them ahead of time unless you know you’re going for sure. Besides all of that jazz lol it was fun. And the kids loved it .

Trish Koch

Exceptional! Layout of the aquarium allowed for easy, non congested viewing of the entire main Aquarium experience. Took a few hours to get through, but it was enjoyable. Lots of add on options aside from the main attraction. Definitely will go back.

Kevin Delvalle

I enjoyed this place so much I bought a yearly membership. As soon as you get there use the restroom.. even if you don't need to. It sets the mood for the rest of your visit. The attractions are spaced out so there is plenty of room even on a busy day. Otters and penguins are always favorites. Very child friendly. Pay for the extra $10 for the shark or turtle behind the scenes tour. Best $10 you may ever spend. Enjoy!

Bill

Nice aquarium. Great exhibits and awesome variety of sea life. Really enjoyed it all. I wish the parking situation was better so it wasn't as bad of a hike in during the summer. So much room to build... just surprised a parking structure wasn't put in. They take your picture on the way in and do some magic to it. Nice but could have been better edited and lightning was horrible. Those were my small complaints. The rest of our few hours here were awesome as mentioned earlier. Whole family had fun. Definitely a nice activity to take in.

Jillian Mullenix

So much fun! It was much better than I expected. The otters were my favorite!

Edwin Gutierrez

Fun little place in the desert fun with the family and lots to see, have other things you can do inside like diving with the fishes etc. Recommend at least coming once if you haven't fun experience. They have bundles sometimes for other things in that plaza I would not recommend the ice one, not really worth it.

Angela Beebe-Harris

We are blessed to be members here. Love the fact that its more than just an aquarium. My daughter loves petting the sea creatures, playing the floor game, and the water table. Everyone is always friendly and there is always something new to look at!

Bryanna Robles

Super fun time! Brought my 1 year old and she had a blast! Beautiful facility. And super nice and helpful staff!

art-the-hivemind

There's a shark window in the bathroom... hell yeah Appeals to all ages and is informative as well as entertaining. It's $2 to feed a ray and a water pancake eats a shrimp out of your hand which is definitely an experience everyone should have at least once.

Andrea Patton

Love the Aquarium! Wish it wasn't so expensive, so we could visit more often!

Jessica Marquez

It’s a bit pricey but I would imagine it costs a lot to maintain the aquarium. If you can, I would recommend the year pass. It pays for itself in just 2 trips. There are a lot of cool things to check out and fun activities for the kids. The shark bathrooms are a must see!

Irene Bee

This place has so much and it definitely is worth the trip. The bathroom visit was definitely a surprise. My kids love the Voyager and the jelly fish. Last time we went they had new exhibits and it was fun to see everything:)

Felicia Cogo

Cool spot for kids... Staff is rude typical Scottsdale... They host many events during operations and close prior to those hours... I purchased annual past and use it often

Dovid Staples

It's pretty cool, but I would not pay full price just to look at a bunch of fish. There needs to be a better emphasis on in depth education about what you are looking at and an educational experience in general. Also needs better structure like knowing; when do they feed that alligator? When does that 3D movie actually start? What kind of stingray am i touching? It's all pretty shallow for the price. I'd pay it if it was more immersive and educational.

Jacqulyn Day

This place is like a prison for the animals stuck there. An aquarium in the desert is a bad idea. The penguins are in a small dark room with no natural light, with glaciers painted on the walls. It's just sad. At the Seattle aquarium that we went to the animals, like sea otters, had access to fresh air, sunlight and were next to the ocean. The sea otters were playing outside in the sun and they could smell and feel the ocean breeze. This place sucks!!! Don't go. What a waste of money. You should only go if you want to see sea otters and penguins in a dark room with nothing natural about it at all. And if they respond to my review don't offer to talk to me about it. I'll never go back even if I was offered free tickets for life.

Chad Nichols

Really not well laid out. The price is like going into Disney world. It's kind of hodge podge going from attraction to attraction. I understand it's in the middle of the desert but unless you have kids this isn't worth date night. Will not do it again even for free.

Ryan Finney

Not the greatest experience, but not the worst either. Most of the displays were poorly put together and thought out. They do have a few exciting animals such as sharks, sea lions, etc. Most of the extras inside cost quite a bit of money. A lot of it was marked down but still expensive. Surprisingly the cafe inside had pretty good food.

Jolene B

Lots of interesting and unique fish to see. I love the escalator that went down with a fish tank all around you as you rode down the escalator. Very cool! There's lots of meat exhibits to see including penguins and you can even pet the Stingrays and other sea life creatures. Definitely I recommend a visit to the odysea

Johneen Fetrow

It's a nice place to take the family BUT I find it to be over priced. There is enough to look at for about 30 minutes (especially with hyper little ones) the shops and other exhibits are cool too.

ken crouch

Awesome place to take the family. Worth getting the annual pass.

Claudia Colantonio

I have visited many aquariums around the world and this is one of the best. It's very well decorated and the fish tanks were super clean. They also take care of a few sea turtles who have been injured when they were in the wild. I would definitely come back. The gift shop is pretty cool. Almost everything they sell is made from recycled materials. Even their bags are made from recycled plastic bottles.

Haley R

Aquarium was great and clean. Fun for the kids. Even though it was crowded the kids were able to get up close to all the animals. Staff is the gift shop were friendly and helpful. I'm taking off a star because the the pizza place next door they associate with sucks literally worse then a 2 star little Caesar's.

A D

The aquarium took me about 1.5 hours to look through and that included me stopping by each tank as well as reading the information signs. It was a bit smaller than expected and most of the fishes they showed are freshwater fishes from rivers/ ponds. They also had an extensive alligator/ crocodile collection, which while nice- took up a whole 1/3 of the aquarium and I wish they could have added some different species there. My favorite part was the restrooms when you first come in and pay your admission. Instead of typical mirrors above the sink it was a glass that let you see into one of the tanks in the aquarium. That was very beautiful and had an elegant feel to it. The people who worked there were friendly too and were willing to answer any questions you might have as well invited you touch the animals in the touch tank. Pretty good experience, but a bit pricey. :)

Stacey Gray

A great place to visit in Scottsdale. The aquarium is cool-much like most others. But the real neat stuff is when you take advantage of the extra excursions. Plan your trip ahead to make the most of it. My daughter and I had so much fun interacting with penguins during the penguin encounter. My husband and son had a blast during the sea trek in the big tank. We also took the behind the scenes shark tour-which was interesting. It was a great way to celebrate our family’s summer birthdays.

Ginger Grass

This aquarium is nice! The staff are very friendly, enthusiastic, engaging and knowledgeable. It feels a little over priced and each activity requires a separate admission fee, but if you have some extra money it's a very interesting and educational place.

Gay Dybwad

Lots of exhibits with good descriptions. Located on multiple levels. Be prepared to walk. Parking near the entrance can be a problem. Shops and restaurants in the same complex are convenient. Recommended.

Jay Wilson

I been there before and I love it so much I want to go the Aquarium aging because it was so nice to see you all of the animals there

Shannon Kasallis

A fantastic aquarium! The kids were active and interacted for hours. Check out the website for deals on purchase ahead everything from entrance fees to food. The pizza was delicious and big! We had hours of fun. Really a great aquarium. I felt the price was a good value.

Tara Halfbubbleoff

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO TO THE ZOO!! Pretty cool cool concept but it only took us about about an 70 mins to get thru the whole thing and that was with a 3 year old. I think it's way overpriced. Not something I would do again.

Greg deLannoy

This was 1st time at Odyssey aquarium, I was very skeptical of how this trip was going to be, but during my visit I met Neal Sanchez, he was very polite he showed me and my family around and explained where to go and where to see the most exciting things there, I recommend that Neal, be assigned to help other employees follow his lead on this! He would attract and bring more customers back!

Brandon Franck

Great place for the kiddo. Somewhat pricey but overall worth it. We did the triple exhibit pass, which was worth it. Butterfly garden next door was unreal. This place is two levels, so plan on at least two hours.

Marc Ferrari

Nice place with super pleasant staff. The free shark feeding was fun but difficult to hear. Pictures in the beginning are nice but they are overpriced. Digital + book + 3d thing is $60, book + digital was $40, just digital is $30. Layout was nice and temperatures were quite nice. There is a scuba event you can pay for which actually looked very interesting. Also keep in mind after you leave the floor to exit and end up in the gift shop there are no bathrooms but an outside public one. I walked into a creepy guy. Make sure you go inside before leaving the event floor.

Rafal Stefaniak

This was my first aquarium that I visited. It was the best experience ever. I really enjoyed their show that showed different types of fish. This place is definitely suitable for an entire family. My favorite exhibits were delphines and stingrays - be prepared to touch a stingray (if you want).

Ernie Bushong

Great fun for the family. Lots of things to do to keep the little ones occupied. We had an awesome time, and plan on visiting again.

Clayton Scherf

I was a little nervous about all of the bad reputation, but this is an aquarium in the desert! Great place and very focused on animal conservation as well as Environmental Protection! Wonderful educational opportunity for youth ages 18 and younger, plus a great place for 18 and older to go! Plus, they have sharks in the bathroom y'all!

C Komm

It’s pretty expensive, but we got the annual pass which is worth it. They change up the exhibits every few months and always have something going on. Have lots of different exhibits and plenty of people who are knowledgeable about the animals if you have questions.
