Growing up back east in the DC/Chesapeake area and spending my adult life in Philly and Florida I thought my move to Tucson would mean no ocean no fish no seafood. Quelle surprise! If only I looked on an actual map I would have noticed how close Tucson is to the Sea of Cortez and guess what - it's full of seafood! I love the giant shrimp and the crab. My only complaint is that the flash frozen fish are whole and as a single consumer I can't enjoy the full range they offer, it's just too much and once you thaw it you shouldn't refreeze it and I just can't eat the whole thing.

A hidden gem. Serves mostly cold combinations (ceviche styles) , and breaded fish. Recommend the cold combinations. Large portions, great for sharing. Very economical.

Being from the east coast i must admit that seafood differs greatly. Then i find this place! The fish and shrimp were top quality and incredibly fresh. So fresh i could swear the red snapper winked at me from the display case. Got home and opened up the shrimp and it was like just out of the net! Cleaned it and cooked it in a tempura batter with some homemade rice and i swear i was eating right from the sea on Los Glorias beach in Mexico. You will not find fresher fish anywhere in Tucson at any price. If you like fish this is worth the trip no matter where are from.

The most friendly staff, I don’t speak a word of Spanish and they were willing to walk me through their menu and explain to what comes in each dish. The chips were fresh, the salsa was mild, but still had a lot of flavor. The shrimp was seriously amazing, I will definitely be coming back to JPS in the near future!

Really good food and all but super tight space and you barely fit and it was packed with people our fish tacos and shrimp botana came out to 54$ !!! Food was alright but not coming back here again also their water tasted like tap water

The food was good and the server friendly however he was bouncing a small bouncy ball on the floors and walls and I had a hard time with the germ factor.

Food is great however if the person on the phone taking your order can't speak English, doesn't know how to explain things right and when answering the phone you really don't know where you're call to because she just says JP not JPS Pescaderia so it's understandable and professional. When I get there she has a mean look on her face , doesn't smile at you, it's like she has no emotion. They need to train her to be more friendly and professional. It doesn't matter if you are located on the South side of town. Word of mouth is the way you get more business and people from all over will go to try out this place and will never come back because of this big eye girl that doesn't know how to be friendly.

This Mexican seafood (mariscos) restaurant has a fresh selection of tasty dishes that keeps us coming back for more... Tacos, tostadas, fish, shrimp, octopus, etc - it's all good, and inexpensive as well!

The fresh fish and crustaceans are great! I love their fresh crab meat and halibut fillets which are also very cheap. And the wild mexican shrimp is also cheap and delish. JPS is the first affordable seafood market that I come accross. I can't wait to go bacK!

You won't get fish this fresh in Tucson. They have a great variety of fish from Puerto Peñasco and their fish ceviche is delicious. I haven't had the chance to eat in the restaurant yet, but I can imagine it will be a great experience

The food is always fast and delicious. It is very busy but you never have to wait long for a table or for your food to arrive. The wait staff works their butts off and are always very attentive. Don't go there if you don't want to get your hands dirty. The food is served in bags and you can choose how spicy, what flavor and you can add things like corn on the cob, polish / summer sausage, and potatoes. It's just like being down by the ocean in FL, where the seafood is fresh, the atmosphere casual and plastic bibs keep your clothes clean. They have great beer and cocktails. They also serve up other menu items that aren't prepared in the " crab boil " way. The salmon and veggie bags are phenomenal. It's also more moderately priced than your typical seafood place. They have a chalkboard that tells the price of a pound of varying items like snow crab, king crab, clams, shrimp and mussels. It is really a great experience as well as serving delicious food.

First time visitor today. Ordered fried fish filets. Took one bite and pushed plate away. Very odd taste. Either the fish or the frying oil were old; perhaps both. Pulled three bones out of my mouth, accidentally swallowed a fourth. Did not eat anything else on the plate. Server asked what was wrong, I explained, still had to pay full price. Will not return.

A hidden gem that I had not known of until I randomly stumbled upon it through google. Decided to give it a shot and man was disappointed that I had not heard of this place sooner. I walked in to the restaurant to see a man playing guitar singing and other customers singing along with him. Reminded me of fiestas that I have been to in the past. The server was very friendly and walked me through what some of the things in the menu were and I ended up going with the combo 4 to go. I was surprised how large the portion size was as being in Tucson usually the amount of seafood you get isn't that much compared to places by the sea. The breaded fish and shrimp were seasoned and fried perfectly, the chiles marlin were amazing and definitely my favorite. The toritos and the mummys were delicious. Easily one of the best places for seafood in Tucson imo

I bought a dozen of great fresh oysters to eat at home. It's a little surprising, you don't see them. You just ask. I was not sure what to expect but the oysters where really fresh and tasty. Probably from the Pacific. Not very salty. I will go back and have dinner there.
