Completely unethical financial advisors, they intentionally hid the truth about fees/cost of policies costing us in excess of $100,000. It has been a horrific experience dealing with them as we watched our hard earned money completely absorbed by their fees. It unfortunately took us a year to realize how untrustworthy they were but I hope others will not also fall for their scam. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH ANY OF YOUR MONEY!

HORRIBLE SCAM!!! We worked with Nick Pavia at commonwealth for the past two years and are displeased to discover he "forgot to mention" half the advisory fees upfront. We had to close the account due to the outrageous charges and lost thousands of dollars. I will be filing a complaint with the securities and exchange commission to investigate. The second financial product that Commonwealth sells is universal life insurance products from Minnesota Life Insurance company that give permanent life insurance and an investment vehicle in one. Once established I discovered that only 70 cents on the dollar is actually invested. The rest goes to miscellaneous charges including 5.5% taxes to the state of Minnesota, a state which I do not live in. Nick Pavia admits he earned a 26,000 dollar bonus for us agreeing to the life insurance plans. I have realized they only have one interest and that's making themselves money, not you. I raised my concerns to Britt Gilbert the president and asked to sit down and speak with him. I was brushed aside. Overall a horrible business and terrible experience for a first time investor. I would NEVER trust my money with Nick Pavia or anyone at commonwealth again.

I have worked with Commonwealth for about ten years. I started out with just using them for a simple life insurance plan. I have added services over the years; however I never felt pressure to do this. Nick (Pavia) always took his time answering all of my questions and concerns. It has always been on my time and my terms. Nick is always accommodating to my schedule (I have a very hectic clinical schedule); offers a listening ear; and provides sound advice. I have never once felt like I was being pressured do something that I did not feel comfortable doing, nor felt like I was being taken advantage of. Rates seem fair and consistent with industry. Can negotiate what parts of a package and services you want. Easy access, responsive to questions. Has never aggressively pushed a product, and happy to change size or conditions of any product I've discussed with him. Recommendations have been sound. I've probably got an extra $100k I wouldn't have had if not for advice from this group, and it's early days. Most of this time have been working with Nick, about 10 years now.
