I feel that it's important for me to alert others to the experiences you may have with this Ameriprise advisor. During a time of national/global financial prosperity, my account lost over $20,000 (this was a couple of years ago). When I was called in to be informed of this, Mr. Bergman handed me someone else's financial disclosure statement, which I called to his attention immediately. Though this error does not wield the impact of losing over $20,000, it speaks to the carelessness of this company branch in Cincinnati. In addition, my own tax advisor warned me about the $1,000 fee I was charged annually for an hour-long "tax-planning" session, which is highly unusual. More unusual is that there was, essentially, NO tax plan, simply a hour-long conversation about my work and publications. Please take note of this if you're considering this company.
