I recently made a purchase on 1/26/19 with store #7 in Louisville, Ky because years ago I had a pleasant experience w/American Freight. Assuming my experience was going to be better or just as good as my previous time... It was not! My order was delivered DEFECTED, INCORRECT, & SHORT originally on 1/29. After repeatedly apologizing to Angie for THEIR mistake (because she was immediately offensive) & repeating my order back for confirmation, we agreed that the other part of my order would be delivered the next day on Wed 1/30. As of today...my order is STILL incomplete & short (in which I informed the delivery people if AND WROTE IT ON THE DELIVERY PAPER I HAD TO SIGN). I HAVE NOT CALLED STORE #7 BACK BECAUSE OF THE UNPLEASANT & RUDE WAY ANGIE SPOKE TO ME on 1/30. I must say that i now regret choosing to spend my $ w/this particular establishment.

Me and my family bought a recliner on sale. We asked jokingly if it was on sale cause of bedbugs and the guy was saying stuff like no we just have had it for a while. No. Not the case. It had cockroaches. I even had to pause from writing this review to kill 2 baby cockroaches! Worst part is, its incredibly hard to get rid of cockroaches!

I have bought furniture from American Freight twice now. The first time was horrible. Not because of the buying experience, but because the ppl sent to deliver and put together items managed to actually break and strip a lot of the furniture brought..which would have been ok had he let me know he made a mistake and that the items would be replaced. Instead he tried to hide the issues and just left. However...This experience was completely different. The movers got to my house within two hours of me making the purchase. Never complained one time about the 3 flights of winding stairs...Moved my old furniture out and replaced with the new bedroom suite. They were done in about an hour and a half and no issues. Every item looks perfect and the movers even took the time to let me know about options for protecting the furniture. Both were very polite and personable. I would actually buy from American Freight again after this experience.

I don't recommend this place to anyone. They did not deliver our furniture at all. We had to pick it up and the times we called to fix the issue they constantly lied telling us they would deliver our product. On top of that, the ottoman we ordered was not present when we picked it up and they openly lied and told us it was with our sectional coach. When we asked for the ottoman they told us they would deliver it the next day. They did not. Today, they delivered our supposed ottoman. It wasn't the one we ordered and I believe it was a display product because it was dusty and there was a hold at the bottom of it meaning, it has been sat upon by others and given to us as a half hearted gesture to shut us up! We are very angry with the lack of professionalism and blatant deceit! We are never purchasing furniture from this establishment again. I dont even want to call them again I am tired of complaining.

I went there looking for a living room set and they showed me couch/love seat sets from $600 to $700. They also had some matching recliners for $300- $400. When I compared everything though, it was gonna be above my budget because they charge a $60 delivery fee. This place may be good for some people and they do have a huge variety of mattresses at affordable prices; however for what I was looking for and the budget that I had to spend on it..i ended up going to Winners Furnature Furniture and they have gave me everything that I was looking for, tax and delivery fee included for $667. Just something to consider if you find yourself in my condition. -James

Do not use American freight they are a ripoff they sale the furniture that will not last more then two years the frams brake you buy the extra warranty and it does not cover anything they say it will cover a stain only if it is actually proven to be a stain that was accidentally there and you or kids did not do it had to be from the manufacturer I bought a bed, dining table and chairs, couch and love seat in 2012 the chairs broke with people sitting in them only after 1 year the table frame screws work out of holes after a few years the beds breaks down if weight more then 105lbs and sleep in same place on after one year the couch frame in back breaks and the springs under the seats break nothing there is worth it they also have bed bugs in there Warehouse you won't know it til you get home and wait about a week then you will start getting bit and they will tell you, you are the one that had them and it is your fault when it came with the furniture so I really appreciate if you do not buy from them thank you

I liked a couch and was told if I came back the same day I could get $50 off and when I came back the manager said theres no way he would do it! They lie to get your money!! My furniture didnt get delivered til almost 11pm and the guys threw the furniture around on the truck carelessly. They didnt take it out of the plastic or set it up for us. When we opened the couch it had rips and tears in 4 different places. I also purchased a dining table and chairs 2 years ago from them and the screws of both are always coming unscrewed and they stay wobbly. Not the best quality furniture. But u get what u pay for.

They shipped me new parts all the way to Alabama, since I had moved. The table I got actually lasted a really long time, along with the chairs from about 2006 to about maybe a year or two ago. Can I give a no star rating? Bought a whole living room set a month ago. I was told the furniture would be delivered within a week... I called 2 weeks after we bought it and they said it wasnt on the delivery truck like it was supposed to be on... this has been the response 3 times ive called. Very unprofessional. I want my money back. If it isnt delivered this week I'm going to go that route. Will revise post at the end of the week. I'm severely angry.

I went to the store in Louisville not too long ago. The customer service was decent; but not spectacular. The salesperson was patient with me which I appreciated. The problems came in with the delivery. The furniture had to be delivered in two different deliveries because the sofa wasn't available right away. So I was charged two delivery fees. The first charge was $85; the second charge was $75. I'm not exactly sure why I was charged so much. The first delivery was a horrible experience. The man knocked on the door and immediately started lecturing me. He told me it was a good thing I was home because he had tried to call and I didn’t answer my phone. I apologized but he wouldn’t let up and told me because I hadn’t answered my phone they had considered just turning around and going back to the store. He also said that if that would have happened, I would have had to wait until they were available again to deliver and I would have been charged additional fees. He was extremely rude. He carried in the chair first, removed the plastic, threw it aside and walked away. The tables were next – they came in a box that he just leaned up against the wall. Then the second man appeared and his lecture was worse than the first. Each time he walked in the door with something he mentioned how lucky I was to be home. They carried in a queen size box springs and mattress along with the frame, a dresser with a mirror and a headboard for the bed. They set everything down grabbed their paperwork and left. The one man was about half way out the door when he decided to turn around and put my recliner together (it came in two pieces). I can’t believe I had to pay $85 for this! I was left with just my daughter to set up all the furniture. The two of us had to set up the queen size bed and move around the big dresser by ourselves. In addition to this, I had 3 tables to put together and the mirror to attach to the dresser (which I still have not been able to do by myself). The second delivery was better as it was supposed to be just the sofa and a lamp. The men who came this time were more considerate. They removed all the packaging and set up the couch where I wanted it. However, there was no lamp. So, in addition to the $160 in delivery fees I had to pay, I still had to drive back over to the store to pick up my lamp. This ended up taking up most of my Saturday because I ended up stuck in traffic for several hours. I am pleased with the purchases; however delivery left A LOT to be desired!! And, to be honest, with the amount of money I spent on the purchase (~$1,800), if I would have known all of this, I would have shopped somewhere else.

Was quoted a time for my furniture to be dropped off (12-5) which is a ridiculously large window. I explained I had plans and would be leaving my house by 5:30. I was assured this would not be a problem. Even with this huge window of time, furniture did not arrive till after 6. Due to this I missed out on my nieces birthday. When I called to asked about the problem I was told that they hire a third party company to do there deliveries so there was nothing g they can do. Well I know what I'm going to be doing, not wasting my money on horrible quality and service.

I went to buy a headboard and found one that I really liked in the clearance section. It had no legs, nothing with which to attach it to a frame, had missing paint and large dents in several spots, and one of the boards from the back was coming off, but I figured I could DIY some life into it. The woman I spoke to said they wanted $100 for it and after some investigation I asked if they were able to come down anymore due to the amount of work it would take to restore the thing. She told me to come back the next day and talk to someone else, saying that I could probably get it at cost because they were going to be having a pitching party and throwing a lot of stuff out that could not be saved. She said they would put it to the side for me. I came back the next day and spoke to the other woman that she suggested, and this woman tried to get me to pay even more, $150. When I pointed out all the damage, including the new damage that had happened to it since I left because it was not set to the side, it was put in a stack with several other things on top of it, she said the company would rather just donate it than sell it for a more reasonable price. Seriously??

Can I give a no star rating? Bought a whole living room set a month ago. I was told the furniture would be delivered within a week... I called 2 weeks after we bought it and they said it wasnt on the delivery truck like it was supposed to be on... this has been the response 3 times ive called. Very unprofessional. I want my money back. If it isnt delivered this week I'm going to go that route. Will revise post at the end of the week. I'm severely angry.

I went to the store in Louisville not too long ago. The customer service was decent; but not spectacular. The salesperson was patient with me which I appreciated. The problems came in with the delivery. The furniture had to be delivered in two different deliveries because the sofa wasn't available right away. So I was charged two delivery fees. The first charge was $85; the second charge was $75. I'm not exactly sure why I was charged so much. The first delivery was a horrible experience. The man knocked on the door and immediately started lecturing me. He told me it was a good thing I was home because he had tried to call and I didn’t answer my phone. I apologized but he wouldn’t let up and told me because I hadn’t answered my phone they had considered just turning around and going back to the store. He also said that if that would have happened, I would have had to wait until they were available again to deliver and I would have been charged additional fees. He was extremely rude. He carried in the chair first, removed the plastic, threw it aside and walked away. The tables were next – they came in a box that he just leaned up against the wall. Then the second man appeared and his lecture was worse than the first. Each time he walked in the door with something he mentioned how lucky I was to be home. They carried in a queen size box springs and mattress along with the frame, a dresser with a mirror and a headboard for the bed. They set everything down grabbed their paperwork and left. The one man was about half way out the door when he decided to turn around and put my recliner together (it came in two pieces). I can’t believe I had to pay $85 for this! I was left with just my daughter to set up all the furniture. The two of us had to set up the queen size bed and move around the big dresser by ourselves. In addition to this, I had 3 tables to put together and the mirror to attach to the dresser (which I still have not been able to do by myself). The second delivery was better as it was supposed to be just the sofa and a lamp. The men who came this time were more considerate. They removed all the packaging and set up the couch where I wanted it. However, there was no lamp. So, in addition to the $160 in delivery fees I had to pay, I still had to drive back over to the store to pick up my lamp. This ended up taking up most of my Saturday because I ended up stuck in traffic for several hours. I am pleased with the purchases; however delivery left A LOT to be desired!! And, to be honest, with the amount of money I spent on the purchase (~$1,800), if I would have known all of this, I would have shopped somewhere else.

Was quoted a time for my furniture to be dropped off (12-5) which is a ridiculously large window. I explained I had plans and would be leaving my house by 5:30. I was assured this would not be a problem. Even with this huge window of time, furniture did not arrive till after 6. Due to this I missed out on my nieces birthday. When I called to asked about the problem I was told that they hire a third party company to do there deliveries so there was nothing g they can do. Well I know what I'm going to be doing, not wasting my money on horrible quality and service.

I went to buy a headboard and found one that I really liked in the clearance section. It had no legs, nothing with which to attach it to a frame, had missing paint and large dents in several spots, and one of the boards from the back was coming off, but I figured I could DIY some life into it. The woman I spoke to said they wanted $100 for it and after some investigation I asked if they were able to come down anymore due to the amount of work it would take to restore the thing. She told me to come back the next day and talk to someone else, saying that I could probably get it at cost because they were going to be having a pitching party and throwing a lot of stuff out that could not be saved. She said they would put it to the side for me. I came back the next day and spoke to the other woman that she suggested, and this woman tried to get me to pay even more, $150. When I pointed out all the damage, including the new damage that had happened to it since I left because it was not set to the side, it was put in a stack with several other things on top of it, she said the company would rather just donate it than sell it for a more reasonable price. Seriously??

Personally I'll never buy anything from this place again. Their prices are great and the quality is ok. There are obviously other high end furniture stores out there to buy from. But if you don't need top of the line, this place has pieces that will get you by. But.... make sure they have what you want in stock for you to take home with you the day you buy it. Don't trust anything they say about ordering things. I ordered a table a month and half ago and I've yet to see it. I would've been fine waiting but they told me it would only take two weeks. Then it didn't show up, then three week later it didn't show up again. Then two weeks later... its still not here. The guys that work there are friendly but its hard to trust what someone is telling you when they can't deliver the expectation. I'll never buy here again.

They sold us insurance with furniture (10 year warranty) and they said it covered everything, called them and we were told that the warranty didn't cover pilling. We went in the store August the 20th for a bed put a 200 down payment for a bed and the guy that helped us told us to come back by Wednesday that our bed was going to be in by then we went back and talked to a lady and said "well you only put a $200 so we haven't ordered it because you still own $220" we weren't told this by the guy that helped us. Anyways we payed, 3 weeks passed and we called if the bed was there they said they would check and call us back (never did) it's been more than a month we don't have our bed so my boyfriend went to get his money back and was told that it was HIS FAULT because they called and didn't answer "so they had to sell it" (THEY NEVER EVER CALLED my phone or his) and they refunded our money in parts half in our card and the rest in a CHECK that we will "supposedly" receive in the mail in a week!! WORST SERVICE EVER !!

Quality of the furniture is cheap and poorly made. First i had a couch and love seat delievered and within a week the spring in the couch broke. I go back to the store and pick something different out and spend a little bit more money on it, hoping it's going to be better quality. My sectional started falling apart in under a year. Multiple seams unraveling and cushions wore out. When I finally got around to calling, it was already past the 1 year manufacturer's warranty, so they couldn't help me. They tell me to call the company for the 3 year accidental warranty I purchased when I bought the item. I call the company and give them details about the large tear in my back cushion, she asks how it happened and I said I didn't know. Then when it is sent to claims it is denied since I couldn't specifically tell them how the tear happened. So basically if you don't tell them exactly what made the tear it isn't covered, even if it was an accident(which she never informed me that small detail would deny the claim on the phone) So now I'm stuck with a big piece of junk that cost me around 900 dollars a little over a year ago. Save your money and go somewhere else.

This is definitely a warehouse setting but it has a good selection at good prices. The staff were helpful but they didn't hover. They greeted us, answered our questions and then retreated to let us shop while be close by when we had more questions or were ready to purchase. Most items are in stock and they have arrangements with a local company for delivery, or you can take it yourself. We bought a sofa, loveseat and coffee table/end table combo. The sofa is made by Simmons so it is some fly by night company.

They had a great selection at great prices. We picked out a sofa loveseat combo, but unfortunately it wouldn't fit up the stairwell into our apartment. American Freight gave us a complete refund except for the delivery fee (the guys came and tried, so I'm not upset about that). Disappointed we couldn't get the couch we wanted, but they did everything they could to make it work, and were very helpful. Whenever we need more furniture, we'll be paying them a visit for sure.

This is definitely a warehouse setting but it has a good selection at good prices. The staff were helpful but they didn't hover. They greeted us, answered our questions and then retreated to let us shop while be close by when we had more questions or were ready to purchase. Most items are in stock and they have arrangements with a local company for delivery, or you can take it yourself. We bought a sofa, loveseat and coffee table/end table combo. The sofa is made by Simmons so it is some fly by night company.

We purchased a sofa and love seat combo for around $600. The sofa we picked out was not in stock but they said they would order it and should have it next week. We paid for the item in full and then a little less than a week later we got the call that our items were in and we could pick up at any time! We got back to the warehouse and they brought out our items and they were in perfect condition. We had no issues with the product or the services! Very happy with our sofa and love seat!!
