Probably the best wedding planner in Dallas, Texas. Very dedicated and extremely talented people. They treat their clients like family and make sure your special day/event is extravagant. From the floral team to the wedding planners, they make sure that your wants and need are met.

Everyone wants to feel special when planning the big day. Unfortunately some wedding planners make it their mission to let you know that what they want is key and what they believe is best. Some lessons could be learned here about working with people to bring about their vision, not pick it apart until you can supplement your own.

Late in preparing for our wedding we met with Donnie, and agreed to his 20 hours plus final arrangements package. My biggest regret was not hiring him sooner. For the groom-to be, my advice is hire Donnie, and you will be happier with that decision than even your bride will. Trust me on that. Donnie did fantastic work for us, arranging for catering, working out issues with our previously selected venue, and frankly did magical things with our limited floral budget. My wife and I could not have been more pleased with the quality of their work, the attention to our needs and the professionalism of everyone we worked with.

1. Budget was never updated correctly after multiple attempts and iterations from the company. As a result, we were not able to use the budget or rely on it. The data was simply inaccurate and of no use to us. A wedding manual was never created or received. 2. Your staff (which consisted of pretty much Heather only) did NOT do everything to ensure all of our requests and requirements were relayed to the vendors, let alone executed properly. We have multiple emails and proof of this. It resulted in a material disruption to the flow of our wedding. I (and bride and brides mother) said repeatedly in phone calls and emails that the photobooth was to be placed inside the ballroom. Your "professional opinion" that the flash is disruptive clearly outweighed the multiple request of us, your clients and paying customers, who hoped to have an advocate for the wedding. Instead, you stuck to your "usual operations" and did not budge on what you thought was right. 3. People who don't give out their cell phone numbers simply indicate that they don't want to be contacted. In this day and age, either give out your number or get a secondary cell phone for business. Using your office phone and email, I was able to meet with you personally only 2 (two) times during the 6 months of planning, and each time was only for 30 minutes due to your busy schedule. This was simply unacceptable and I brought this to your attention many times throughout, but nothing ever changed. 4. Your use of the word lambasted indicates further that you are unable to accommodate a customers specific an unique requests. We were quite specific along the way and those details were not properly recorded by your staff and simply were lost. You just did it "the Donnie Brown" way, which we indicated multiple times that we did not want your standard method of operation, but again you and your staff were completely inflexible. 5. I understand we were not charged for the missing flower on the cake, but your response that we weren't charged (and the fact that it was missing) clearly indicates that you didn't care about it. Another missed detail, and an important one. 6. The groom was never offered assistance, was simply "told" what to do by your supplemental staff who seemed way too young and inexperienced. I was also never introduced to any of the staff, or the vendors, I did all of that myself. I suggest you make introductions next time. Your common practice clearly did not align with what was requested and agreed upon by your staff. It was apparent to the family members and guests that the wedding planner staff (who couldn't be identified due their lack of staff clothing and presence) was missing things and scrambling to correct things. This seems to be your common practice. Had I known this, we would not have hired your company to manage your wedding. 7. Your 18-year old staff, Tanner, was aware of the guest in the bathroom vomiting, but I'm sure that was never relayed to you or the rest of your staff. He didn't help him, just yelled at the groom about it. I'm not sure if you had walkie talkies or used text messaging, but the impression was that communicating quickly and efficiently was not a priority of you or your staff. 9. The text message I sent indicated that you focused all of your attention and resources on the bride. Yes, she was happy at times, but overall she was completely disappointed with the performance of your staff on our wedding day, so much so that she left her own wedding early due to the embarrassing cake cutting disaster which is apparently your common practice. 10. Contacting former clients is not illegal, and since you didn't provide us with any happy customer references, it seemed logical to find some on my own.

They did my wedding. Planning and decor. They guided us through every step of the process. And made me and my fiancé feel comfortable by educating us on the options and making decisions easier. They were responsive and helpful. I don’t know what we would have done without them. Cindy was happy and that’s all I cared about. We had a beautiful wedding thanks to Donnie and his team. I highly recommend them. It’s tough work. Don’t try to do it alone.

Donnie and his team helped create my dream-wedding . I'm not one to sensationalize my experiences, but this is how I describe our wedding. Donnie and his team will tell you up-front that they cannot take all the stress away from this planning process, and that is absolutely true; however, they did a fantastic job easing my stresses, concerns, worries, and the like. Yes, my wedding was high-end (by most people's standards), and you certainly pay extra for that, but from the perspective of someone who hates to make decisions and who is not one to want to plan every detail of an event, I was happy to let the experts do that for me. They understood my style, my likes and dislikes, what was important, what wasn't, and planned it from there keeping me in the loop and informed the whole time. My wedding was truly a spectacular event that only Donnie and his team could have pulled off. What you are paying for are connections within the industry (these guys have them!), their time, an ease of mind, their delegation and problem-solving abilities (they ALWAYS took the blame if and when something didn't go as planned which is bound to happen), and above all else, THEIR EYE AND EXPERTISE. You have to see this process, with Donnie and his team, as more than just people who will "plan the wedding." If you just see it as that, then you won't accept the tremendous value that I absolutely saw and appreciated on my wedding day. People are STILL talking about our beautiful day, and I know they will for years to come. I certainly owe that all to DB! I would absolutely recommend DB Weddings and Events for not only a wedding but for a milestone birthday, anniversary, or any other major life event.

Set up an consultation to discuss my wedding. On the day of the consultation Donnie wasn't available, therefore, I met with someone else. We discussed their "day of" package and floral arrangements. I indicated what my needs were and was told they would send me a quote by the end of the week. Needless to say I never received the quote. If this is the type of service I received months before my wedding, this gives me reason to pause as to the service I would have received if I had booked them. I wouldn't recommend them based on the service I received.

Donnie Brown, the man who was on WFAA Channel 8 News for creating a 2 million dollar wedding dress and currently has a full page ad in the most recent edition of Modern Luxury Weddings Dallas, has officially committed fraud with respect to our wedding. Our wedding was on Saturday, October 19th. Donnie did not provide nearly $10,000 worth of services, and the day after our wedding he had the nerve to charge our account almost $500 without our authorization. Meaning that he kept our payment information on file without our knowledge or authorization. His assistant at the time, Heather Bradford, took our payment information and did not properly secure our financial information allowing him to have free access to our account at any time. I texted and called her multiple times to give her a chance to tell her story. She will not respond. We are already refuting this and will be taking legal action against both of them, but please read on for the whole story. I documented each red flag as they occurred in order to keep an accurate timeline. Also, for the accusations provided below we either have hard proof in emails, text, phone logs and pictures or we have a witness to the event. I thought Donnie was difficult to deal with but would still deliver on his contractual obligations, not break his contract and steal money out of our account. If you want someone who is trustworthy and transparent, Donnie Brown is NOT who you want to deal with. Donnie will make you feel as if he is adding tremendous value when in reality he is really a con man. On several occasions he has lied to us but we had paid soooo much money already that I politely continued to deal with him to make sure that our wedding would still come together as envisioned. One of the hardest things to do is to continue to deal with someone who is swindling you out of money and you know it especially for such an important day- at the end of the day making my future wife happy was my top priority. After our reception and when we got home, I letHeather and Donnie know that we will be taking legal action for services not rendered. If it wasn’t for our venue coordinator (TJ Land with the Room on Main), our wedding planner (Carol Hampton with The Date) and our florist (Michele Rochon), who all pulled together and each did work that was well beyond what we had compensated them for, to make up for Donnie’s failures and ensure that our day was still incredible, it would’ve been a disaster. Also, because Donnie screwed up sooo badly, he is banned from doing any business in any of the venues associated with our venue. The day after our wedding he charged an additional $478 to our account without our authorization. Now he has committed fraud. We obviously have the reception well documented and the actual contract, so it is easy to see what contractual obligations he did not fulfill. We are already refuting our payments. If you have ever thought about doing business with Donnie Brown, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN. And if you are already working with him, request an itemization of your bill. This is a man that has zero ethics, zero professionalism and is willing to even steal money from his clients.

Brides, You only have one shot at executing the perfect wedding for your lifetime memories so be very sure that you are contracting with a reputable company. It has taken me over a year to write this review due to the emotional turmoil that Donnie Brown Wedding and Event planning company has caused. For full details, please go to the Dallas Better Business Bureau for the specifics. We contracted with them 13 months prior to the wedding and had to fire them five week before daughter's wedding date. We fired them due to breach of contract for failure to deliver end service product (wedding) as contracted within agreed upon timeline and budget. We had to find a new wedding venue, florist, hotel, caterer, etc. for a May 5 (Saturday) wedding date all within a five week timeframe. No bride should ever be put in that position or have to experience all that stress. We were able to achieve a beautiful wedding on our own and were so blessed to have all the pieces fall in place in time. We won a civil judgement in March of this year (2019) for the refund of our contracted amount but have yet to see any money. Based on our experience, I would certainly not recommend this vendor for any event planning.

Currently, I am still in the process of planning my wedding and I can honestly say it has been a fun and easy experience. I had several personal things happen in my life that affected my wedding date but Donnie and his team jumped in and fixed everything. I didn't have to make one phone call. Working with Donnie is wonderful (of course) but his team really takes the cake. They are truly experts. Sometimes I am thinking if things we can do for the wedding and I may call them and they say its already taken care of. I love to hear those words while under the pressure of wedding deadlines. Almost two months ago I had my decor meeting with Donnie and his team planned my entire wedding in 1.5 hours. Considering the magnitude of the event I was sure it would take longer but it was so easy. A part of me believes they could have planned it even if I wasn't there. To put it simply, Donnie, his team and vendors are the route to go if you are planning a wedding. I trust them with my money, family, wedding, and future family events. They are amazing.
