I contacted Kaleidoscope in March 2018 to discuss the potential of hiring them for my former wedding (am now split up from my ex-fiance). I spoke with Jennifer and she was very nice and seemed very cool. We discussed the details of my ideal wedding including the date/month I desired (which was October, this information is important later). After speaking with my ex we decided their rates were too high and that'd we'd pass. Jennifer insisted that she'd work with us, since I was a resident at the time and would be making more money in just several months. She asked that I provide about $300 to reserve her for my date in October and we could "figure out" the rest of the payment later, but she still sent me a contract that I signed. Mind you, prior to me signing the contract and paying $300, I tried to cancel/decline their services but she was insistent that she could "work with me". Fast forward to this past summer, I reached out to her in July regarding wedding venues since I was moving to the Philly area that month and wanted to get started on looking at venues a year before my supposed to be wedding (October 2019). Jennifer provides me with a google doc spreadsheet with about 20 venues (corrected) in the Philly area for MAY/APRIL 2019, not October. I was a little confused because we discussed October 2019 being the month I wanted to get married. Jennifer seemed confused and swears we never discussed the date (remember I paid her a deposit to reserve her for the October date) and that she thought it was May/April I was looking for. She revised the spreadsheet and sent me an amended one in less than a day. Around mid-august my ex-fiance and I break up. I email Jennifer and her boss Clayre promptly regarding the cancellation of my wedding and thank them for their help. I immediately get an email from Clayre stating that I owe them $900 additional dollars for the TWELVE HOURS Jennifer took making the spreadsheet that she got WRONG to begin with. They claimed it took Jennifer 12 hours to concoct the erroneous spreadsheet and were charging $100/hour. Now, I find it hard to believe that it took 12 hours to draft up a spreadsheet for wedding venues in the Philadelphia area for me given that when I originally received the spread sheet the wedding date was wrong, and I know that Jennifer surely has a drafted excel sheet with wedding venues pre-made since it is her job as wedding planner in this region, she would have that on hand and would make minor adjustments at best. I'd be more apt to believe it took one hour, maybe 2 hours to make that spreadsheet. I ultimately paid the $900, but receiving that email was a huge slap in the face and not good business on Kaleidoscope's part. The audacity to kick a woman while she's down and over charge for some spreadsheet is ridiculous. I will never recommend this company to other women. Only book these women if you're 100% confident you're getting married/you want to use a company that's overpriced and lacks attention to detail.
