I selected Eatible Delights for our family reunion picnic for 50 guests this past weekend. I had to write about HOW FABULOUS AND DELICIOUS our picnic food was, and the superior service Brian provided! I researched about 8 different caterers for the event who had picnic menus. ED by far had the best menu selection for the price range we selected and it included our famous Philly water ice. Most caterers offered only 2 meats and 2 sides for the picnic menu. ED gave us 4 different types of meats and 4 sides, with various beverages. The food was slamming! We had cold salads and hot foods. EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD! My family raved and raved and raved about the food. Several said it was their first “catered” picnic. And, the water ice was the icing on the cake! 2/3s of the group was from out of town and had never had it. They were calling it sherbet, sorbet, even ice cream! LOL And it remained solid down to the last drop. There was nothing left on our buffet tables, except for the beans, as people took multiple plates back to their hotel rooms. If I had Tupperware bowls, I believe the beans would have been completely gone also. LOL And - what a gracious and efficient delivery man Brian was! He was there promptly at 11 as scheduled, set up very quickly, and explained everything to me. The tablecloths and menu display matched our colors perfectly. For the hot dishes, he used a protective guard that would not allow the flames to go out, so the food remained hot for the entire 4 hours. He came back before our scheduled 5 pm pick-up time and we were in the middle of our program. People also were still making to-go plates. He told me not to rush, let him know when I was ready for him to get the equipment, and patiently waited until we were finished. He was very kind, polite, and helpful! Also, working with Event Manager Jan Lewis was a delight from beginning to end. She answered all my questions and provided all the information necessary for us to make good decisions for our event. She was continuously pleasant and helpful. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this business! This is my NEW caterer in Philly! :-) Thanks so much for making our event wonderful and successful!

It was truly an evening of eatible delights. The food was delicious and the service impeccable. I only wish my family wasn't so tardy. The chef had a difficult time keeping the food warm as not to overcook it. My entree wasn't as hot as I would of liked it. The servers worked very politely and professional in the cramped space provided in my aunt's home. They set up tables, decorated and then cleaned up very quickly afterwards. We didn't have to lift a finger. Just what we wanted to fully enjoy our family visiting from out of town Mr. Simms was very accommadating. He offered suggestions and crossed ever "t" and dotted every "i". I will definitely use his services again. Happy New Year Eatible Delights!

Dave Simms and the Eatible Delights team completely delivered and actually exceeded our expectations. I first used them to cater an event for over 50 families and everyone was so engrossed in eating the wonderful food that they barely played the scheduled activities. I also recently used him to cater my son's "outrageous party" that was featured on TLC and believe me the food was wonderful. The salmon melted in your mouth and the vegetables were grilled just right. You can't hire the team without getting one of the great homemade pasta salads. I could not imagine using anyone else as he is my caterer for life!

I was referred to Eatible Delights by the African American Museum when our caterer cancelled on us. My husband spoke with David on a shoe string budget, in a panic and not knowing what we really wanted. David offered an excellent menu within our budget that totally exceeded our expectations!!!! The night of the event, Eatible Delights was there on time and did a FANTASTIC job. Several of our guests commented on how good the food was. The servers even offered to save a plate for me, as I arrived after the guests. Eatible Delights will be our go-to caterer for any event we have in the future and we will definitely recommend them to our friends, family and associates. THANK YOU EATIBLE DELIGHTS. Oh, and I can't forget to mention that the front line staff in the office is FANTASTIC too!!!

DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT hire this company!!!! I hired them for my wedding and they were horrible! I am giving them a 1/5 just for the fact that they showed up that day. They were rude to my guest, mismanaged the food to be served, ran out of supplies, just unprofessional!! We hired their wait staff to serve our guest food and open bar for the night. First, they promised to supply champagne in the beginning of the reception during the toast, when I looked around there was nothing the glasses. They did not have the champagne for the toast. Second, they had no pitchers available to serve my guest water or soft drinks; they actually ran out ice, soft drinks and water before 9:30pm. I hired them for open bar from 5:30-11pm for 120 guest. When my guest requested beverages, they were rude to them and even expressed to my maid of honor to go retrieve water from the vending machine or faucet!!! I was floored!! What kind of business is this?? I later found out that not only were they unprepared with items, but they tried to close the bar, before even 10:30pm. When confronted by the DJ, they were nasty to him, and told him the party is over, but wedding was not over, it actually ended at 11pm! The list goes on! We were saddened to hear the next day that some of our guest did not eat anything that night because the servers were not efficient! As per Eatible Delights Catering, they ran out of food!!! We ordered food for 125 people! Only 100 guest ate that night! The next day we went to pick up our cake and saw 2-trays full of chicken sitting on the counter!! How did you run of food?? Where did the food go?? I was embarrassed that some of my guest left hungry and thirty that night!! When I confronted the David, the owner, he expressed he had to hire an extra wait staff that night, and that I had 160 guests! He expressed that he had done a head count of the guest that night, and he counted 160 people!! This was false, when my husband and I did the head count we had 138 people including those who did not RSVP and children! As per the catering company who prepared the food, there was enough food to feed 140-145 people. David tried to charge us an additional $550 due to the "high demands" but in actuality he deserves nothing due to less than poor service! This has been a traumatic experience for my husband and I. Instead of enjoying and focusing on our honeymoon, we spent two days trying to resolve the wrongdoings of this company! THIS COMPANY ALMOST RUINED OUR WEDDING DAY!! ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT EVENTS IN A PERSON’S LIFE!! I WRITE THIS AS A WARNING SO THAT THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE!! DO NOT HIRE THEM! THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL, INCOMPETENT, AND A NIGHTMARE!!

Eatable Delights are AMAZING!!! I needed a caterer in 10 days for my daughter's graduation. A friend recommended me to give them a call. Catina and David were empathic of this anxious mother's precarious situation, so they came in and saved the party. On top of that, we have a restrictive diet so, they created a very VERY lovely menu. Okay, so the FOOD?? It was delicious!!! We had enough food left over, so my spiritual center had a chance to enjoy it too. I left business cards near the food. When I came back the food AND the cards were gone. Lol. Overall, I was pleased with Eatable Delights. Their quality of the food, the presentation, the high level of customer care and professionalism that was exhibited from A to Z makes me a one happy returning customer. Thanks!

Eatible Delights Catering made our Family Reunion “Cookout” a true delight. With 40 family members coming to Philly, I needed help. So I reached out to Eatible Delights to help me bring that down home, backyard cookout feeling to life. From the first phone call to the final pickup after the event, this team of professional caterers delivered on all of my expectations. They helped me plan a menu that met the diverse needs of my family. There were options for the 3 vegetarians (Grilled Vegetables – awesome, Heirloom Tomato Salad – yum and the vegetarian BBQ Beans. For the rest of us, the BBQ Chicken and Potato Salad had my folks raving and we gave a 5 star rating to the Beef Brisket that was so flavorful and tender that we only had to use the high quality PLASTIC knives (supplied by Eatible Delights) to eat it with. Not only was the food outstanding, the delivery, setup and cleanup services were excellent. When everyone showed up to the event at the same time, everything was presentation ready. The sunflower bouquet was a nice finishing touch to the buffet setting. At the end of the evening, the staff efficiently broke down the setup and cleared away all of the remaining serving trays/dishes. Thanks to everyone at Eatible Delights Catering for delivering a wonderful experience to my family!

I used Eatible Delights to cater my husband's 40th birthday party. I worked with the office to coordinate the menu and it was fully customizable and well within my budget. The day of the event they arrived two hours in advance to set up and as a courtesy upgraded me to China. Now to the food. I choose assorted appetizers and a build your own pasta bar where each guest ordered their pasta and it was made on the spot. The food was awesome. Flavorful, well seasoned and served with a smile. Loved the personal attention to detail, great service and excellent food. I would definitely use them again.

I used Eatible Delights to cater a repast for a large group. We arrived a little later than anticipated to the hall but when we arrived everything was set up, ready and waiting. The tables had brightly colored tablecloths as was requested and were nicely set. The staff was friendly and very helpful to all. The food was excellent and even the vegetarians in the group were very pleased with the selections. At the suggestion of Catina, I included a dessert table which was wonderful. Clean up was quick and did not interfere with any of the ongoing conversations that the guests were having. We used Eatible Delights for a morning meeting at my organization. They arrived and set up early. The set up was wonderful with small piece of artwork, artfully positioned napkins and had a valentine theme since it was right around the holiday. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed it. Employees even got up for seconds and wanted to know the name of the catering company. The person who set up everything asked if I needed any additional help or assistance before his departure and verified what time he should be back for clean up. He arrived on time to clean up and their wasn't anything left behind. They did a great job and I would definitely use them again for another work function or my own personal use.

On Sunday, November 26, 2017, Eatible delights catered a Celebration of Life for my husband. Given that we did not reside in Philadelphia, when I googled top caterers in Philadelphia, Mr. Simms' company was listed in the top ten. I explained to Mr. Simms that I wanted the event in 3 weeks time. I discussed that I wanted an elegant event with china, stem and glassware. Having not lived in the area for 13 years I did not know where to house the celebration. Mr. Simms and his staff worked with me from beginning to end. The venue suggested by Mr. Simms was beautiful, and the food absolutely amazing! Our 150 + guests raved about our unique and elegant celebration. His staff during the event could not have been more attentive or professional. I am only sorry Eatible Delights is not in Arizona.

Our reading group at Univ. of Penn, The Black Cultural Studies Collective, used Eatible Delights for a artist/scholar's visit and they were awesome! Really! The food was delicious. We ordered the chicken marsala, salmon and grilled veggies (green beans, red peppers, zuchinni) and everything tasted savory, well seasoned and FRESH! Everyone at the talk said so and was taking food home for later once the event was over. There was MORE than enough food for the amount of people we ordered for. Additionally, they provided a beautiful setup with crisp table cloths, beautiful flower arrangements and a neat and professional set up w. the napkins and utensils! They arranged to come around 5pm, an hour before our event, and they were early and already Setting up by 5pm-- not just arriving at 5, which was perfect! Also, David the owner, and Catina were so easy to work with and thorough. Order and payment were stress free! We are definitely using Eatible Delights every time for our events!!!

The food was very good at the event I went to last week I should have taken photos but the portions. Ummmm just because I am of a small doesn't mean serve me a half of a serving of the serving size spoon. This event was around dinner time. I should have eaten before I came. A tablespoon of this mean while the larger people had way more food on their plate. SERVE EVERYBODY THE SAME SIZE PORTION unless they don't want it. Ridiculous! I wasn't going to ask for more I was trying to be civil.

Love Eatible Delights...They have prepared a number of events for us for between 20-50 people. We usually get one of their lunch packages which works well for a casual dinner event. They drop off their food on time and set everything up in the space that works best for us. They also pick up their reusable materials (which reduces waste). Most importantly, the food is high quality and satisfying for a diverse crowd.

This past Thanksgiving , I had made a tough decsion not to cook the turkey for my Thanksgiving meal for about 15 guests. I had the pleasure of experiencing Dave's delicious meals at 2 separate events so I contacted him about preparing just a turkey. Needless to say Dave talked me off the ledge, and pointed out his very tempting Thanksgiving meal package. He won me over. I have to say it was the best decision. Not only was the turkey, the most tender and tasty turkey that I ever had, but the all of the sides were delicious. I was also very pleased with the decorative and festive lay out that his staff set up very quickly!!

Ordered 30 box lunches for delivery to a business event last Saturday 3/30/19. Service was excellent from ordering to delivery. Lunches were reasonably priced / a decent value. Sandwiches were big and overstuffed (in a good way) but the large, bland rolls made the sandwiches a bit hard to eat and many people discarded at least half of the bread. Prepackaged cookies were a big disappointment, but overall I'd definitely hire this caterer again. Tip: be sure to ask for extra napkins.

We hired Eatible Delights for our Super Bowl 2015 party and, as usual, the experience was amazing! As the party host, I did not want to be concerned with pick-up, setup, breakdown, etc. Eatible Delights made the entire process simple for me, which is a huge plus given everything else I had on my plate. And the food! Our guests absolutely devoured the Asian-style wings (I've never tasted wings so good), and the Swedish meatballs didn't stand a chance either. I was happy to hand out business cards to our guests who repeatedly asked about our caterer. What more can I say!! Eatible, Delights, Catering speaks for itself. Not only are you eating great quality food but you also delight in the food that you eat. From the beginning when I called to the office I was greeted with a warm and welcoming phone call by David's administrator. After talking with the young lady then David called back to greet me personally himself and invited me to come and do a taste test!! Not only did we sit and taste their delicious food but we also signed the contract right at that moment. David was excellent in helping with his suggestions in feeding a diverse crowd of 40 plus people. Our Christmas Luncheon was held on December 12th 2012 and began at 12:00noon. Not only is David very professional his caterers that came early at 10:00am came professionaly dressed, well mannered and began to decorate and prepare for the event. The beautiful flower arrangements, the China set up and even the warm smiles were so welcoming that we felt right at home within our own office!! As each individual sat and ate their food you heard all the oooh's and ahhh's as we marveled of the tastefulness of everything!!. ( The Salmon and the Beef Brisket was over the top delicious. The caterers came around and waited on us with our beverages and even removed our plates as we were finished!! They also served us the delicious desserts (Key Lime Pie, Chocolate Cake and Peach Cobbler) On a scale of 1-5 I have to rate them a 5+. Eatible Delights Catering will forever be used with our corporation for any of our events.

Eatible Delights Catering (EDC) hit it out the park again! I have attended many events catered by EDC including the African-American Chamber Open House last year and private couple cooking experience and have always been pleased. This past december my taste buds caught up with EDC during holiday event and I was more than satisfied. Food was incredible and wait staff was very accommodating. Both the seafood pasta and thai chicken wings were very memorable. Definitely looking forward to attending next EDC catered event or securing for my business of personal needs.

I had an event catered by Mr. Sims this year on February 4 2017. I am still receiving calls on how tender the beef brisket and chicken Marsala was. As well as how professional the staff were. I have passed on Eatable Delights information to many people since the event. Keep up your excellent work and looking forward to working with you again in the very near future!!! I recently lost my mother, she was my world so the last thing I was able to do is plan a menu et al – even if my intent was to have it be a memorial celebration that was perfect! I knew I needed a caterer, right, but who. With the recommendations I received ...one company stood out, Eatible Delights. Their website – was amazingly helpful and suggested to me that they would “take care of everything” ( i.e., understand what I needed and minimize my decision making). I went with them. , Was I wrong?? Absolutely NOT!!!!! The best part, the celebration ( aka repast) was wonderful, elegant and substantive like Mother. The icing on the cake: Not only was the food superb (People went back for seconds and thirds!!) but the service was superb. Truly I had people come up to me during and after the event – exclaiming how attentive, respectful service staff were each showing such good judgment, e.g., monitoring attendees to know when to ask if someone needed something and when not to interrupt, etc.” Would I use them again? OF COURSE! ( But Humm … I may have to get in line with the guests from the memorial celebration as so many left saying they would be calling the company for their next event. So, bottom line – Thank you David and your team for the rockin’ food, the stellar customer service and your support during a very difficult time in my life. You helped to bring in the light!!!

Eatible Delights catered the first West Chester University Philadelphia Campus Master of Social Work Graduation. The food was fabulous! The staff all arrived on time. One of the servers was early and helped us out with some tasks! Thank you so much!!! You were a pleasure to work with! We will keep Eatible Delights in mind for future events we host in Philly!
