When my now husband and I decided on a destination elopement in Oregon (we live in South Florida), I thought planning would be a breeze and started spending all of my free time scouting locations, times of years, and vendors without getting anywhere. I emailed a lot of resorts that had all-inclusive wedding packages but hated that there was so little opportunity to personalize our elopement to our style. I quickly became overwhelmed with how many vendor options there were and despite spending every weekend for months "researching", I made no progress and just felt defeated. I debated on hiring a wedding planner for a longtime- it almost felt like giving up! But then my fiance and I set up a phone call with Dorotheea and I never looked back. Dorotheea was so sweet and easy to communicate with, she always responds very quickly. I felt like she really cared about our vision and worked so hard to get it exactly right. She discussed a lot of details I wouldn't have even thought of and with each passing day I was more and more thankful to get to work with her! She was exceedingly organized and kept me in the loop with every decision and update, even some of my other vendors commented that she was the most organized planner they had ever worked with. After hiring Dorotheea, the wedding process became fun and exciting again and I even got to feel surprised on the big day! Her vendor referrals were amazing and we ended with the absolutely best elopement team! On the day of the wedding, she oversaw every detail and we just had to show up and enjoy the day. She was my right hand woman, she was even there to tie my belt and put on my fiance's boutonnière. The design was better than I ever could have imagined, she even did all of my florals and I can't even put into words how beautiful everything turned out. It was truly the most dreamy day of our lives and we can't thank Dorotheea enough. If anyone is debating on hiring a planner like I was, hire Dorotheea and don't waste one more second worrying about it!!

Without Dorotheea and her team, there's no way that my wedding day could have happened. We had an unconventional wedding venue and had to find generators, tables, portapotties, plates, heating trays for food, EVERYTHING and we hardly had to worry about it because she found options for us that were perfect for our tiny budget. She handled every situation with poise and grace, but was also firm to stick up for what we wanted and made it happen with ease. Seriously, shes amazing. There was terrible wind the day of the wedding and they figured out how to get our decorations up and to stay in place! They even got poison ivy and continued to work their butts off. Don't try to tackle planning by yourself. Seriously. Kamea Events is the way to go.

I love Dorotheea! What a life saver! She was recommended to me by the owner of Tendue.co (my wedding venue) and I'm so thankful I had someone reliable and who understood my vision, otherwise I would have been lost! She was with me and my fiance (and my Mom!) every step of the way, from vendor recommendations, to introductions, and making sure all the fine nitty gritty details were taken care of. I stayed stress free all the way up to the two weeks before the wedding when friends and family started coming to town. Even then I knew things would go off without a hitch. Even after a small panic on the day of the wedding where I was supposed to pick up all the venue signs and didn't, she fixed it ASAP and the signs made it to the ceremony! I loved how easy and wonderful the whole process was, I cannot recommend her enough, seriously, let her plan your wedding so you can enjoy every single moment. I can't wait for pictures to come back so we can relive that day all over again! It goes by so fast so let Dorotheea do her magic, and relax!

We had the privilege of working with Dorotheea at Kamea Events for our wedding on Sept 14, 2019. We initially landed on Kamea Events via Instagram, we loved her style/aesthetic and knew that she was the perfect fit for our vision, and by chance had availability! We booked Dorotheea for full planning, and day of coordination services, and gave her total creative control. Our wedding date was extra special because it was also our daughter's first birthday - so we wanted to be sure to incorporate her, and this first milestone in our plans for the day. Dorotheea more than exceeded our expectations, and throughout the whole process we were free from worry and stress as we knew we were in good hands. From the bigger rentals and logistics, all the way down to the smallest detail, everything was absolutely perfect. Day-of, I never wanted for a thing, because Dorotheea had literally everything covered. My only wish is that we could do it all over again, and slow down to take in all the beautiful things she created - from the tablescapes, to the outdoor "living room" areas, the whole day was a dream. Always hire a wedding planner, and always look for Kamea's availability first. Their services are more than worth the investment, and though I don't plan on having another wedding (haha!) I am so grateful that Dorotheea was able to create such a special display for our wedding day and to gently guide us through this chaotic process from start to finish. “Get a planner. You need one,” my mom advised the day after we became engaged. My husband and I met with several planners but we couldn’t connect with any, until we met Dorotheea of Kamea Events. After our first sit-down with Dorotheea we knew she would be true to us and our wishes. Though we didn’t have much of a vision for our wedding we did had three requirements — it had to be located in the gorge, I wanted to serve birria [traditional Mexican dish], and my husband wanted a mariachi band. Kamea Events created a vision for us and handled a severely challenging venue with a quiet classiness that we very much appreciated. Dorotheea maneuvered and diffused many tricky situations all while having our backs 100%. Our venue was vintage and rustic, which is not exactly our style, but it was the only venue we could find to meet our three requirements so we had to work with it. Dorotheea created a perfectly balanced, modern, awe-inspiring display in conjunction with Molly Ryan Floral. Kamea Events is not going to be a loud-mouthed, yelling in different directions type of coordinator but she will do whatever it takes to serve you on your day while delivering a beautiful, authentic, and effortless event for you. A few months after the wedding my mom was looking through photos to print and she commented, “You know, I really didn’t notice how beautiful that setup was until now. We had the chance to work with Dorotheea on a styled shoot that she planned. From the communication, to the vision and day of- everything was executed beautifully and with ease. We would highly recommend Kamea Events to other vendors and clients without a doubt. Dorotheea is one of the most amazing humans I have ever met. I don’t say that lightly. Everything I have seen her put her hands to has turned out so good! Including my very own wedding. I met with Dorotheea when I was completely overwhelmed and frustrated with trying to figure out how to make my vision for my wedding come to life and make it cost effective for 250 guests. I did not have the time to research prices and shop around with only a six month engagement process, but from the moment I met with her I felt so much stress and weight fall off my shoulders. She took the time to listen to my vision, provide advice, and shop around for the cheapest prices of everything from candles to linens. What I appreciated the most with Dorotheea is that she didn’t tell me my ideas were not going to work or try to convenience me to go another direction, but she truly partnered with my vision and over exceeded my expectations of the perfect elegant/romantic wedding. She communicates quick and never leaves you hanging and always keeps you informed which was so refreshing during the wedding planning process.
