**UPDATE**: We were contacted by Emerson Events by email on 11/29/17 stating that, within 24 hours, we would receive a formal letter with a response to our termination of services request, a repayment plan as well as addressing our "public defamation." We later received a Facebook message on 11/30/17 at 2:19AM elaborating on some of the aforementioned items.
It is now 1/10/18 and we have yet to see any kind of letter or receive any further communication from Emerson Events.
After my fiance and I had to endure months of rescheduling and very minimal communication with Emerson Events, we ended our agreement with them hoping to get our $2,000 of upfront deposits back ($1,000 for planning, $1,000 for floral.) After the initial floral meeting with my fiance, she did not send us a contract for a long time and, after informing her we were breaking our agreement, she tried to apologize profusely and send along a PDF contract that was apparently supposed to be sent by a former employee. The Document Properties of the PDF tell a very different story. In the time since then, we have tried every way imaginable to communicate with Emerson Events to get our money back, only to come up empty-handed. I've even gone so far as to try to knock on the door of their brick and mortar location, only to find that they've vacated the building.
We were scammed out of money we worked very hard for with no way to get it back. Do not be fooled like we were fooled.
