I have attended many events hosted by Columbus Bride and Groom and have absolutely loved them. I attended the Fall Experience event today and my opinion of this company has changed.
For the event, brides were asked to email to register their tickets and comment "I want $1000" in order to be eligible for the $1000 prize. I had attended a previous event hosted by Columbus Bride and Groom and the rules were the same for the $1000 prize. At the previous event they pulled names of brides they had registered before the event and brides who were not registered were not included in this drawing.
For today's event, instead of pulling from a name of registered brides, they tossed up the surveys every bride was allowed to fill out (including those who had not pre-registered) and pick a bride from the pile at random.
I was a bit confused as to why they did this when the rules clearly stated that only registered brides were eligible for the grand prize.
I sent them a direct message that I felt showed my confusion and received a very unprofessional response. I was highly considering using their services for my wedding and now I will be looking elsewhere.
I do want to clarify, I am so happy for the bride who won and know she will benefit from the $1000. I just wanted someone to explain why Columbus Bride and Groom chose to do something different than advertised on choosing a winner.
