Healthy quick meals that are tasty but not as hot and fresh as the 40th location. I think they make it there then bring it up.

If you work in midtown and are looking for something that isn't as crazy as the lines at Dig Inn, this is your place. They have a bunch of in-season veggies and side dishes to choose from as well as chicken, steak or fish to choose from as the protein. It is a bit pricey for lunch, but a decent amount of food!

While I have not been to the other locations, I was displeased with my experience here. First and foremost, at $13-15 a lunch plate depending on the protein, I expect at least politeness if not excellent customer service. The staff and rude and impatient. There are no signs explaining which side is which - but you will still get shot down for asking. When it comes time to pay in the extremely small/tight space - you will be rushed and treated like cattle. To top it all of, the food is served cold, with little additional flavor, and little to no creativity. It would take a lot for me to be a repeat customer here.

Just enjoyed a great experience with Mary V at Between the Bread. She advised us well on amounts, food selections for our fundraiser. Food arrived on time. Bartender "Scoop" from BTB also terrific. I would go right back to them for my next event. Liz N

We arrived to a bustling storefront of hungry workers on their lunch breaks hankering for a plateful of healthy, fresh, local fare. On the menu were a wide array of sandwiches ($7.95-$8.95), salads ($2.95-$4.50), soups ($3.50-$5) and entree portions of chicken, shrimp, or fish, each served with 2 sides ($9.95-$13.95). Menu items change on a daily basis so you'll never get bored eating here. I tried the herb salmon with Parmesan roasted cauliflower and grilled veggies while Stephanie had the grilled chicken with fennel green bean and potato salad and tomato salad. First off, the portions were GINORMOUS. My plate was definitely enough for two meals, which makes it a great value. Also, everything was super delicious, yet healthy. I could have eaten a plateful of that cauliflower alone and I really liked the wide array of grilled vegetables, including beets and sweet potato on top of squash and bell peppers. There really isn't a place to eat inside the restaurant, but we took our food down the street to an outdoor pavillion (yay almost Spring!) and enjoyed our lunch al fresco. I definitely want to come back to try Between the Bread's other entrees and their baked goods. Yum!

Great food quality and taste is amazing

Lydia Andrews

Pretty good, healthy option in the Midtown area. Food is served cold and the portions are pretty generous. I go here once a week, and like the shrimp best.

Pedro Alonso

Gets really crowded at lunch time but its definitely worth it! Great selection and delicious, the kale salad with fruits is amazing

Jeff Simon

Can’t believe this place isn’t rated higher. Fantastic lunch — always super fresh and healthy. Lines can get pretty long but they keep it moving. On the expensive side but worth it if you can afford it.

עברתי באיזור וראיתי תור מטורף, נעמדתי בסוף התור כי חשבתי, לא יכול להיות שכל אלה טועים. טועים. קיבלתי חמגשית עם אוכל תפל וקר.

Revised Review. Original review below for completeness, but I will say that a manager called me about my review and was beyond lovely in trying to explain the issues I encountered and to make up for it. And the food was beautiful and everyone talked about how good it was. So I'm very happy to report that after an initial major disappointment, I was very pleased with the overall outcome. I really hope they hire some new people to assist with order taking during busy seasons, as I'd hate for others to be turned off like I originally was. Uh. Wow. I'm hosting a party and was enticed by their catering website and figured I'd give them a try over my usual catering place. I'm not an overly needy person, and while my budget was only $1200, I still expect a basic amount of service. I called a week ago to place the order, and asked if it was possible to deliver to Brooklyn (not deep into Brooklyn, just over the Manhattan bridge). The woman acted like I had asked her to travel to Iowa. "Uh! No! We wouldn't even CONSIDER going there for less than $6,000". Okay... fine. I'll pick up. Not a big deal, but her TONE of disgust... The rest of the call involved her sighing heavily and acting like I was causing her a major inconvenience by simply ordering some trays of catering items. She never gave me the total, and I was so shocked at how I was being treated that I was just in a hurry to get off the phone. Fast forward to this morning, when I called up to ask if I could make a slight modification to my order (I wanted to add a tray of desserts). The woman who answered said "you have to call back. I'm too busy to talk to you". Really? Okay. Thanks but no thanks. I won't be giving you any more money. Of all the business events I've hosted, I've never been treated so badly by a catering department and if it wasn't so close to the event and during a busy holiday time, I would cancel the order all together. It's a shame, I can't even remark on the quality of food because the taste in my mouth is so bad.

Always fresh!

Food is excellent and fresh. Prices just went up and I will be making far less trips to this location. $20 for lunch is to high.
