Hey Mr DJ did an amazing job for the Students of Lonepine High School at the Big Sky Ski Resort, Tyler truly knows how to put on a fantastic party, he had the kids up dancing all night with great music that was also appropriate and for that I was very happy, can't wait to have you back again next year.

Very disappointed. We contracted Hey Mr DJ to play music at our wedding. We were in communication on and off with Tyler, who seemed to have trouble returning our calls and emails promptly, unless a payment was needed. Tyler sent us a bunch of garbage paperwork asking for our whole family history and all this other crap so they can tell "your love story" at the wedding, which was never brought up. We filled it out anyways, big waste of time. Fast forward to one week before our wedding, and Tyler will not return our calls or emails. I'm talking at least a dozen voicemails. Tyler finally calls us back the day before our wedding and says sorry, he was on vacation and forgot his phone., and some guy named Dylan is going to be our DJ and gives us his phone number. We spoke briefly over the phone with Dylan and told him we wanted country and classic rock music, which he assured us he "was very good at playing" Finally at the wedding, Dylan shows up, he looks about 16 years old, and he brought a date. He seemed somewhat socially awkward, and kept bugging us about what the schedule was supposed to be. Sure would have been nice if we could have dealt with all that beforehand instead of during our wedding, but we didn't even know he was going to be our DJ until the day before. As I saw on another review, Dylan decided it was a good idea during the first dance, father daughter dance etc. to dub out one song and immediately start playing the next one with no break or announcement. I told him to knock it off, so he provided a ten second break between the bride/father and groom/mother dances. Awesome. The music selection got progressively worse as the night went on. He initially said that he would take any requests, but did not have popular country artists when we requested songs by them. Keep in mind we asked for only country and classic rock, so Dylan played such hits as "Shout", "Gangnam Style", "YMCA", and "Pour Some Sugar on Me". I can't imagine that the wedding would have been any worse if we just had a fried hook up their iPod and put it on shuffle. I would not recommend this service to anyone, and feel pity for anyone who gets stuck using them.

We want to thank Hey Mr DJ and Tyler Smith for providing our entertainment for our 2017 Tribal Retreat at The Resort at Paws Up in Greenough Montana, for 7 nights Tyler entertained our large group of members and family to some fantastic music, videos, lights, instant karaoke and fun. Night after night the parties and dances were a hit, he always took requests from our oldest members and out youngest children and made us feel very welcome. We would highly recommend Hey Mr DJ and we look forward to using the service again in the future.

Not only did we receive suggestions on music and the reception format, we also were given a handful of helpful tips for the day of! Tyler is very thorough and works with you to set the mood, and bring the type of party you want to life! He put together a couple of customized pieces for our ceremony and reception. They were perfect! Our guests complimented us throughout the entire evening on how good our DJ was, and could not stop sharing how much fun they were having!!! I have used Hey Mr Dj, Tyler Smith, as a Dj for many years. He has performed at many corporate events. Every event I receive compliments on his style and interaction with the attendees. He is always on time, efficient and very knowledgeable about how to keep an event on point and fun. I even used him for my daughters sweet 16 birthday party and the teenagers and parents loved the venue. I would highly recommend him for any and all functions.

Tyler is AMAZING! We had heard Hey Mr DJ at another Missoula wedding at the same venue, and when we got engaged we didn't even talk to another DJ. He was extremely easy to work with, took all our requests to heart, and made the night a huge success. Tyler kept the party going until almost 2am at our NYE wedding, without making it about him which I think is important with a DJ. He knew when to step in and do his announcements, then kicked back and played awesome music! Even our parents with very different taste in music (who wanted a band) were beyond pleased. We all loved Tyler. You will not regret booking this Hey Mr DJ !
