Katie helped me prepare for the party by asking all the right questions to help me consider all my options and to not forget anything, large or small. Katie and her amazing team at Hire a Host helped create a magical wedding for our daughter! The customer service is incredible! Katie was always there for me answering emails and phone calls for months! She created a beautiful dessert table for us (I actually cried with joy when I saw it) and ordered all the fantastic food and beverages because she knows so many vendors I didn’t have do a thing! Jennifer (our lead) and the rest of our servers were absolutely FANTASTIC at our wedding, going above and beyond what we asked of them and making us feel taken care of on our special day! A lovely added touch - after dinner they rearranged the candelabras on our dinner tables to keep the warm ambiance going into the reception party. I have hired hire a host for thanksgivig every year for as long as I can remember. I wouldn’t have it any other way! Every employee has been over the top up to and including solving last minute disasters with gravy or turkey or bartending crisis. Too many examples of how hire a host has saved me and just made my holidays that much more special because I could visit with family. And at the end of the evening feel like the hire a host employees are part of my family too! I never feel like it’s strangers. And now my sister who just moved back to town hires them for Christmas. Hire a Host provided some rentals for my wedding as well as serving staff and a catering "supervisor" since I wasn't using a traditional caterer. The staff was amazing. They were so quick and everything went so smoothly. I mean this in a great way - I didn't even know they were there. They do everything so quick and smooth that you don't even notice them, you just know that everything is going the way it should be! I couldn't be happier with them from a staffing perspective and would highly recommend them. We hired 2 hosts for an event in July. The hosts that came went above and beyond their bar tending duties and were wonderful I would happily work with them again. They were on time, friendly, organized, tidy, and polite. My only reason for not awarding 5 stars is due to the cost. The companies hourly rate is outrageous and I’m certain the hosts are being paid a fraction. We tipped on top of the rate of corse but have since switched to a more affordable service for our bartenders.

We've had a butler/server staff person from Hire-a-Host at our largest annual party for many years. They've always sent someone wonderful. This year, our host took the cake! She was amazing! She graciously offered drinks, refilled glasses, picked up glasses and plates, refilled serving dishes with food, beautifully set out and served the catered part of the meal, and even washed glasses and dishes as the evening went on so our cleanup the next day was minimal! Hands down the best catering hosting, staffing company in the state of MN. Professional attitude and clear business goals help create continuity between an excellent staff that can host your house parties, weddings corporate events or literally anything you need help with. They have so much experience in the planning of events as well and have created and established a professional holistic experience with what seems like everyone they work with. I hired HAH for my wedding, I needed 2 bartenders and there was some logistical adversity day of and they rolled with it and made what could have been a disaster into a magical experience for my bride and I. It really starts at the top, Melanie will ask all the right questions, do the research, and set the metaphorical table for her staff to execute at a high level. I can not speak highly enough of HAH and would recommend them to anyone, for any party big or small.

It wasn’t a good start, first off it took weeks for the worker to get back to us after we contacted them. She then kept pushing for us to have 3 helpers to come out for the wedding. We really only need two because our wedding is on the smallish side but we gave in to having three because the person we were working with kept insisted we needed to have three. We finally started the process and had a contract in the works when a fee was added that we weren’t informed of at the time of discussing the contract. Because we weren’t informed of this service fee my fiancé updated the working contract & sent in a deposit. Hire a host accepted and cashed our deposit (after we sent the updated contract). They did not have to accept the contract or cash the deposit but they did anyway. Three whole weeks later we get an email stating that the fee is “standard” with absolutely no other explanation as to what it was standard for. We questioned the contract & told them fine, we will pay the 500 dollar fee but 3 workers are just too many people for our wedding. Later we get an email stating they will no longer work with us. We then ask if we can speak with the owner because we don’t want to cancel the contract, we still would like help and all the things we were planning on renting from them and we are willing to pay it, it’s just we have questions and frankly customers asking questions shouldn’t be an issue. The owner called my fiancé and was quite rude & said it was our fault that they will not work with us. When my fiancé pointed out the huge amount of time we lost (because their worker took almost 3 months to draft a contract & then almost a month to tell us they weren’t working with us after they cashed our deposit) and that it might be difficult to find another company because they might all be booked the owner stated “What? you have a year!” 1) no we don’t, our wedding is in almost 8 months. 2) people start planning weddings long before this. We are both very upset. This isn’t about money for us, it’s about the fact that we question something & was basically scolded. It’s also about the time wasted. It’s going to be very difficult to find someone in such a short time. They could of straight up told us a month ago they didn’t want to work with us & return our deposit but they didn’t.

Our party went flawlessly thanks to Hire-A-Host. I originally hired Hire-A-Host because when I put out several inquiries, they responded promptly and answered yes to every question I asked. Their reviews were great, and they were very professional. I hired them to help with our office holiday party, which consisted of about 80 people with a catered meal and open bar. My contact person at HAH, Katie, spent a lot of one-on-one time with me, including an on-site visit to our party venue beforehand (which happened to be the party room of a condo). HAH provided bartenders, decorating, arranging appetizers and desserts (I had already hired my own caterer or they would have done that as well). They arranged delivery and pick-up of rental tables and chairs, as well as tablecloths, champagne glasses, wine glasses, etc. They contacted my caterer and worked with her to ensure all the bases were covered. They coordinated our champagne toast. The decorating was amazing! But the best part was that I was free to enjoy the party - they handled everything. The party went smoothly without a hitch or a glitch. I can't say enough good things about this place! They weren't cheap, but they did work to stay within the budget I provided. I will definitely hire them again and recommend them to anyone!

We Hired a Host for our graduation party on June 9th. It was awesome. The Host was the kindest person. Our party was 10am-2pm and she arrived around 9am. My husband and I could visit with all the guests and never had to worry about coffee pot not being full, taking food out of the oven and serving, napkin containers full, putting out food when low, etc.. I would definitely hire them again for an event. It was just so much easier to have assistance with the graduation party and nobody asking me things like, "where's the xyz". Do it, it will make for such a great event.

She went above and beyond in terms of helping us to plan and prepare. I have used Hire A Host on three occasions for private dinner parties and cocktail parties at my home ranging from 8 to 40 guests. The Hosts have always been prompt, cordial, enthusiastic, and extremely helpful. From the beginning of the evening the host will welcome guests, take coats, and offer drinks and hors d'ouvres. I usually have a "script" for the evening that I share with the host when she/he arrives about and hour before our guests. I am amazed at how well the host coordinates the evening and keeps everything moving while the dinner or party unfolds. For our formal dinner parties, the Hosts have done finish cooking, plating, serving, and clearing. For our cocktail party, the Host kept the appetizers and drinks flowing and replenished the food as needed. It was helpful to have glasses washed, dried, and available for further use during the party. The two best things about hiring a Host is that we get to maximize our time with our guests (our guests appreciate our Host almost as much as we do) and we have no dishes to wash and put away at the end of a festive evening--we can just climb into bed and not worry about facing a kitchen full of dirty dishes and glasses. Once you hire a Host, you'll never throw a party without one.

My wife and I got married June 2018. We used Hire a Host to meet the food delivery and set up the food; we had Cossettas for the food; cossettas actually recommended hire a host, as they work together frequently. Hire a host did a great job working with us to get an accurate bid for the service we wanted. They were on time and dressed nicely. Cossettas cooks the food and delivers it to the venue, hire a host meet the delivery driver and put the food in the food warmer. When it got closer to dinner, they mixed all the different pasta sauces and salads so all the food was served as it had just been cooked at Cossettas. All the food was hot and served to perfection. At the conclusion of dinner, hire a host packed away all the food neatly, put it in the cooler and left the venue as planned. This is not a cheap service (we paid around $1500 for 3 servers for about 4 hours of very basic service) but if you are using a venue where you provide the food, as we did; it is needed and well worth the money; they did a great job.

Only try this if you are prepared to need them for all of your parties going forward. Once you experience your own party, you'll never go back to trying to do it all yourself. My most recent experience was outstanding. The host welcomed guests, helped them get a drink, helped serve dinner, cleared drinks, helped serve dessert and did dishes and emptied trash along the way. I assisted here and there, but primarily enjoyed our party and our guests' company. This service is worth every penny.

I have contracted them multiple times over the past 10 years. The scope of their vendor and restaurant relationships makes menu choices literally unlimited. Our experience was a fantastic one! We held a surprise party for my mom and I was struggling last minute for ideas and overall decor. I contacted Melanie, the owner, with only 5 days lead time and she jumped in right away. The pricing was based on the service you receive and very reasonable when you take into account the decor, hosting, hours spent at the event and cleanup service provided. I used Hire a Host to host my wedding reception. It was one of the best decisions I made in planning the event. The reception venue was an AirBnB and when my bride and I arrived after the ceremony, the Hire a Host team had set up decorations, prepared to welcome guests, and helped the catering crew set up. Throughout the event they welcomed and directed guests, policed empty/abandoned drinks and plates, and generally kept things running smoothly. At the end of the event, they cleaned everything up so that you couldn't tell that there had been a party for about 100 people for the past few hours. Can't recommend them highly enough.
