We just had our wedding here. Staff was friendly and helpful. This venue is the best priced in the Duluth area- you get so much for your money. The food was amazing and the waves of passion cake was to die for. Loved!

They need to explain when you book a event what the service charge is... was told it was for paying the cooks and support staff.... is it a pre paid gratuity as it seems or something else..

We just had our wedding reception here at Black Woods in their even center. We live in Utah, so we had to do all of our planning remotely. We also had two receptions, so we were definitely on a budget. After looking into a few places, we instantly knew we wanted to have our reception at the Black Woods because our first email from them was a personal email- not a generic, copy and paste email- and they seemed genuinely excited for us to have our reception with them. Adrienne was super helpful with the planning and allowed us to do everything via email and over the phone, which was great since we both worked all the way up to the wedding. Once at the event, Izabella was there with us the whole time making sure everything ran smoothly and ready if we needed anything whilst still remaining in the background and not getting in the way of anything. Everything was handled very professionally and you can tell that they really know what they are doing. 10/10 we would absolutely recommend planning any event with Black Woods.

When searching for a venue for my wedding, I wanted a place that was beautiful, convenient for my guests, a place where we could throw a party, and a place that I could fit in my budget. I am happy to say I made the BEST decision when I booked the package deal with Blackwoods! My wedding went incredibly smoothly, and Adrienne was so helpful in my entire planning process. On the day of, my coordinator Molly and the rest of the team made sure any hiccups (by my own mistakes) were quickly smoothed over before I even knew they happened. If you want a venue that gives you everything for an incredible value, (decor, food, planning) and takes an enormous amount of stress off of YOU, book Blackwoods. You won’t regret it!

I just had a wedding at the Proctor location. Staff was rude, and started a clean up way to early. Half my guests left by 11. They didn't serve my cake until after one of family members had to talk to them about timing. They didn't save the top to my cake when serving it. They also lacked my Swedish meatballs. Ran out halfhalfway through the line. Which is what almost all my guests wanted. Because my guests weren't able to eat what they wanted they went over to the restaurant and bought themselves food instead. There salad was brown and soggy. The staff started to argue with my father in law about the glasses we personally made for our Wedding party and said they were Blackwoods. I am absolutely floored and disgusted with them.
