Nicola at Simply Brilliant Events was absolutely amazing! I can't say enough good things about her and the works she does. At first I had thought maybe I could do all of the planning on my own, but after getting a referral from a close friend, I contacted Nicola and I'm so glad that I did. There is no way I could have planned our dream wedding without her. Everything turned out perfectly and having her alleviated so much of the stress beforehand and on the day of the wedding. She is unbelievably organized and was so helpful in all of the planning. I felt so comfortable knowing that she had everything under control. We got so many compliments all night and several people telling us that it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended. Nicola played such a big role in that and we couldn’t be more appreciative of all that she did for us. It was such a relief knowing that she was behind the scenes making sure everything ran smoothly. It allowed us to enjoy our special day with friends and family. Her expertise was invaluable to us and we were so grateful to have her guidance in every detail. She went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. She helped my husband and I create a day that we will remember and cherish forever. She was so amazing to work with and I would highly recommend her services!!!

Using Simply Brilliant Events for our Month of Wedding services was the best decision we made while planning our wedding. With us living in NYC it was amazing to have someone on the ground in Michigan who we could consult with as we put together our wedding. Nicola's knowledge of the wedding scene in Ann Arbor was extremely valuable leading up to the wedding weekend. Then Ashley's experience and amazing attention to detail on the day of made the day of our wedding go as smoothly as we could have ever imagined. Throughout the whole process Nicola and Ashley were there to help and made the process extremely easy. We were referred to Nicola by another couple who had a similarly fantastic experience and we can't thank them enough. From the intro on, she were always very responsive and easy to work with. Using the easy online system helped us to make sure we had everything in place leading up to the day. When the day arrived, Ashley masterfully executed our vision even when everything didn't go exactly as planned. Having someone we could count on throughout the entire day who took care of all the little details helped to make it the best night of our lives. We cannot thank Nicola and Ashley enough for all of the amazing work they did for our special day.

Nicola at Simply Brilliant Events was outstanding. She did full planning service for my wedding in September and I couldn't have picked a more perfect person to help me plan. Originally I wanted someone to just help me when the day of but then the more I started to look at vendors and coordinators, the more I wanted a full service planner. This helped me maintain my professional and personal schedule while at the same time still have first and final say in my wedding planning process. I had a clear vision on what I wanted our ceremony and reception to look like and Nicola helped me achieve just that. She made the entire planning process easy and lead me through to each vendor and decision with ease. She is the reason why I really enjoyed the entire planning process. I had some crazy ideas, things that haven't ever been done before at weddings or maybe done differently, and she made them happen. Most importantly, she was always on my team. That was so crucial for me as a bride because its such a high pressure time. as a bride you get a lot of stress from your family, friends, groom and grooms family and friends, and its hard to tell them all no or get your opinion in. Nicola always made me the first priority and would always ask me "what do YOU want?". She kept my wants and needs a priority and that was so helpful during the entire process. The other thing that I loved about Nicola when I first met her was her charm and professionalism. I knew she was the perfect planner for me because she really genuinely loved planning weddings. She did it all day everyday, and she has vast experience, so that's what really made my decision so easy! My wedding was to die for and Nicola and her team were Simply Brilliant!

She was a huge help the day of to help field all questions and issues than came up. Without her my wedding would not have went as smoothly as it did. My husband and I were married on July 22, 2017 I can honestly say that Nicola and her staff are AMAZING! My husband and I had the most perfect wedding day and it was because we had Nicola to help plan every detail and execute a flawless day! Even from our initial phone consultation, I could tell that she was someone I could trust with all the logistics of our wedding. We hired her first for the Month of Services but realized that we would need help for the whole planning process and hired her full time. She is detailed oriented and did not miss one single element! She provided Aisle Planner which is an extremely helpful tool that she uses. Aisle Planner was helpful in the way that everyone was on the same page. She went the extra mile to make sure that everything was accounted for and that our day would be more than what we had imagined. She is also extremely personable and down-to-earth. Her professionalism is admirable, too! Her responsiveness to our email and phone correspondence was so quick, and always accurate, we never felt alone! Nicola and her team were the ones behind the scene on our wedding day that made everything possible. We gave them SO much decor to set up, and they made it all look so beautiful, just like a fairy tale! Throughout the night, Nicola kept track of us and made sure we had whatever we needed. Nicola will exceed all of your expectations, she will fight for you to make sure you're getting great deals, and she will coach you through every step of the way. With her, you are in great hands and literally have nothing to worry about. I could not have picked a better coordinator; she made all of our dreams come true!

I highly recommend Simply Brilliant Events to anyone looking for a wedding/other event planner. Nicola is extremely knowledgable about the event planning industry. She connected us with great vendors and gave us countless ideas and options. She kept my mom and I on track while planning our 300 guest wedding in a short amount of time (3 months!). There is no way we would have been able to pull it off without her help. She was able to bring my vision to life, and it all turned out even better than I imagined. I felt so stress-free on my wedding day because I knew she had everything under control. Every detail was taken care of. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding planner!

I hired Nicola to help plan my wedding. While it was small with only 9 people including me and the groom, I was a bit of a clueless bride and really needed help. Nicola was perfect. She was lovely from the very beginning and gave me great advice on wedding venues, flowers, photographers, and places to stay. Nicola was amazing. I'm so glad I followed my heart and hired her as my 'day of' planner. I instantly clicked with her from our first conversation and she put me completely at ease. She came so highly recommended and she surpassed any expectations I had. She is so very detailed which is so important. She took care of everything on our special day. My husband and I were able to just enjoy every moment as Nicola handled everything that day for us. The reception room was amazing. She made sure that everything was set up perfectly. To see your plan, all of your ideas come together and not have to worry about it is priceless. I had planned an outdoor ceremony and it rained all day. Finally, an hour before my ceremony, sadly I had to call it and have it moved indoors. Ten minutes prior to ceremony time, the sun came out in full force. I was bummed because I had already made the decision to move it inside. When I got to the venue, Nicola came out and asked what I would like to do. I felt bad because so much work had already been done to rearrange everything. She told me it was my day & I should have the wedding if my dreams. She had the ceremony moved back outside in less than ten minutes. I was able to walk down that beautiful outdoor path that I had daydreamed for so many months. It was everything I dreamed of and more. Perfection. I would never have been able to have the day as special as it was without Nicola. My mother, who thought hiring a planner was 'ridiculous' even said that Nicola was amazing and my day wouldn't have been the same without her. I can't thank her enough for everything she did.

After planning plenty of work events, I knew that for our wedding, a coordinator was a must have to take care of all the small details and people moving. Our wedding was non-traditional to say the least, and we put in a ton of effort on the front end to make sure our day was a true reflection of us. Our goal was to be simple, so just the name Simply Brilliant fit well. When we first found Nicola, we were in a panic about finding a venue. She was helpful in providing suggestions, and then meeting with our dream venue when it was finally secured. We moved forward with a month of/day of contract with Simply Brilliant. Nicola was kind, patient and organized throughout the process. We met twice, she reviewed the vendor contracts we secured and we were thrilled to use aisle planner to keep all the details in one place. On the day of, she picked up all our decorations, made sure the room was set up beautifully and most importantly, reminded us to eat! She was knowledgeable about all the potential challenges a couple faces on their wedding day and was thoughtful in taking special care of us as well as our guests. While our day turned out wonderfully thanks to Simply Brilliant, and there were a few specific takeaways from our experience: (1) we were clear about our vision and desire to have a non-traditional wedding, however at times Nicola made dismissive comments about our choices; (2) we had to deal with vendor issues days before the wedding that could easily have been addressed earlier with more foresight and attention from Simply Brilliant; (3) many of the day-of details felt through the cracks leaving us along with my mother/my friends to tie up loose ends, particularly at the end of the wedding when we, along with our friends, were left to pack up last minute items in our car and drive it back to the hotel; (4) upon bringing these issues to her attention, Nicola sent a series of emails in response that ended with “I wish you had talked to me about these on the day, you both seemed very happy.” To us, the final moments of our wedding is the wrong time and place to discuss issues with a vendor. We found this unprofessional and ultimately negatively impacted our impression of Simply Brilliant.

One of the most important aspects of my wedding was having Nicola and her team by my side throughout the whole process. The first step I would recommend anyone to do, is hire Nicola for their special day. It was one of the best decisions I could make, and she was worth every penny. I was unsure at first of whether or not I needed a planner to help me, I figured I had enough time leading up to the wedding to plan and organize everything myself. When you think about it though, and realize how much time and money is being put into such a special day, its necessary to have a planner there the day of to help with any minor details that will end up coming up and to help coordinate the timeline of your wedding to make sure the bride and groom with their parents are able to enjoy the day! Nicola and her team went out of their way to make sure I had help with ANYTHING I needed leading up to the wedding and for the day of. They made me feel so calm and assured that everything was going to be perfect for the most important day of my life! I am so happy with all the work Nicola has done not just for my husband and I, but for the mothers and fathers, so that they could relax the day of enjoy the special day too. I highly recommend hiring Nicola for your special day!

I couldn’t be happier with Nicola and Simply Brilliant Events to help plan our December wedding. Nicola did an outstanding job helping us throughout the process. We hired her as both day of planning as well as partial support during the planning process. Some of the critical things she assisted with during the planning process include providing vendor options (that turned out to be wonderful), she worked directly with the vendors to setup meetings so I didn’t have to be involved in every step along the way as it can be very time consuming to coordinate everything, she helped make decisions based on her experience and took the time to understand our vision to ensure it was being captured correctly. Nicola even attended multiple meetings with us with the florist, venue and lighting specialist to help facilitate to ensure we were getting what we wanted. Nicola was available throughout the whole process via phone, text and email to answer whatever (big or small) question I had. I felt like she went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied. Her company also provides a planning website that we used to track budget, guests, vendors, seating, etc. During the day of our wedding we had to coordinate a lot of guests within our venue as we utilized the same room for the ceremony, dinner and reception. I didn’t have to think twice about moving people around or ensuring we were on schedule. The whole day was seamless and allowed me and my husband to focus on enjoying ourselves and our time with our guests. Above all of the tactical items Nicola was an absolute joy to work with and I feel she really enjoys what she does and has a passion for making the couple’s day exactly as they want it. As mentioned before, I wouldn’t think twice about booking Nicola for your planner – she’s experienced, organized, helpful and extremely pleasant to have on your team!

If you're thinking about booking a wedding planner, book Nicola! We live in Colorado so planning a wedding in Michigan was a challenge. Our wedding venue was the Ford Piquette Plant in Detroit, which means everything had to be brought in from outside vendors. She gave us a few option with a few price ranges and was honest and upfront with everything. I trusted her opinion. The vendors she recommended did an absolutely outstanding job. Nicola was available to chat and email through the whole thing. She kept us on track with deadlines and always asked our opinions on what we liked to do. At the wedding, 5 minutes into our reception, my husband tripped up the stairs, busted his lip, chipped his tooth and broke his nose. She didn't panic and knew how to handle the situation. From the first moment to the very end she helped in every way possible. It was truly a blessing to have her by our side. I highly recommend hiring her. I promise you won't regret it!

Nicola and her team were outstanding. As a maid of honor, my job was to make sure the bride had her perfect day but honestly, Nicola did such an amazing job at my sisters wedding that we were all able to enjoy the special day and even I felt relaxed. In a fully outside wedding, weather was a stress factor as it rained right before the ceremony but Nicola pulled it off and the wedding was outside just as the bride had wanted. It was perfect. She made every point to make sure the day was running smoothly and everyone truly had their best day ever. Nicola and her team went above and beyond to make the wedding not only gorgeous but run smoothly. I’m so grateful and my biggest regret about my own wedding is I didn’t have Nicola! Booking Nicola to help plan and organize our wedding was definitely one of the best choices we made throughout the whole process! We had a mostly DIY, backyard wedding and her help in keeping everything organized, on schedule, and calm was incredibly helpful! Nicola was so easy to work with and she was knowledgeable about everything from local vendors, to ideas for backup plans, to creative ways to organize things based on our specific logistical challenges. Our wedding day was crazy hot, and she was outside almost all day working on setting things up and coordinating with vendors and was still pleasant and kind to work with despite how uncomfortable she must have been! I think working with Nicola would be a great asset to anyone planning a wedding, but especially if you are not working with a venue, I cannot stress enough how helpful it was to have her support and guidance! We had a better wedding day than we could have ever thought possible and that was definitely in huge part to Nicola.

We hosted over 850 guests at our wedding and our event planner was "simply brilliant". When my husband and I became engaged in the fall of 2014, we knew that with full-time jobs, it would be impossible to plan our wedding on our own. Nine months before we married, we interviewed event planners. Nicola Wilson of Simply Brilliant Events was the standout candidate and we hired her to help us with preliminary planning and to step in with intensive assistance in the month before our wedding. Nicola listened carefully to what we wanted and recommended vendors. We interviewed photographers, florists, linen/table providers and caterers from her recommendations, chose our vendors and were not disappointed. In the months before the wedding, Nicola was available for any questions. When our guest RSVP list topped 850, Nicola toured and studied the church and reception area and made specific plans for the movement of guests and the placement of tables and serving stations. She met with us to plan the day and provided schedules. Nicola was present at our wedding rehearsal and had already, that day, met with vendors and begun to set up for the large event. On the day of the wedding, she and an assistant were present before we arrived. Nicola handled all interaction with vendors on the day of the wedding. My fiance and I had no worries or concerns about possible problems; we trusted Nicola to put out any "fires". The wedding ceremony was beautiful. The reception, with Nicola's organizational skills and eye for elegance, meant hundreds of people were severed food and drink efficiently in a beautiful setting. I am grateful for Nicola's experienced insight and confident guidance. She truly loves making the big events in a person's life special. Her professionalism, patience, and encouragement were welcome gifts as we prepared for our wedding day. For anyone planning a large event (or even a small one), I would highly recommend Simply Brilliant Events.

Working with Nicola was a pleasure. Just two weeks before the wedding, I started to get very stressed out (as most brides do). Trying to figure out when I am going to be able to set up, who is going to be able to help me, how long will it take? I was stressed. I met with my photographers and they referred Simply Brilliant Events to coordinate my wedding. So, two weeks before the wedding I called in panic that she would not be available but she was!! Finally, a weight lifted off my shoulders. We met a couple times before the wedding and spoke about everything. I felt so comfortable leaving her in charge of the setting up and coordinating the whole ceremony and reception. Without her and her assistant I would have not known what to do. She made sure ever vendor was there when they should have, the DJ was announcing every detail, had the correct placement of bridal party, that everything was happening at the time it should have, she went and got Tupperware for all of our leftover food, cleaned up all decorations after reception, you name it she did it! I was so pleased and absolutely recommend her.

I called Simply Brilliant events after seeing a few good reviews. I was looking for a day-of wedding planner that was affordable and flexible and Nicola at Simply Brilliant was great. She was willing to help us with anything and everything the day of the wedding, including pull together centerpieces. (In the end, we opted for a florist, but she didn't blink an eye at having to do that.) We had two meetings at the venue before the wedding and they helped us organize ourselves. Nicola thought of things we would never have considered. Those meetings were incredibly valuable. She also brings on other planners and interns to make sure everything goes off without a hitch. All in all a great experience. I don't want to think of how the day would have gone with out her.

Nicola did absolutely everything for my wedding. I had no interest in planning my wedding, I just wanted to show up. She was sweet and nice but also professional and got down to business. I had an outdoor wedding at my mother's lake home so there was a lot of planning and an incredible amount of things to rent. Nicola took care of every little detail and I basically had to say yes or no. I would recommend Nicola to anyone for any type of wedding. It was by far the best money I spent on my wedding.

If there is one piece of advice I could give to a future bride it would be to hire a wedding planner. My husband and I live in NYC and his Aunt offered their lake house on Maceday Lake for our ceremony. We wanted to be as thrifty as could be for our wedding and I dismissed the idea of getting a wedding planner because I though that would be an unnecessary cost. After trying to plan a wedding in a town I’ve never been to and three nervous breakdowns where I very seriously suggested to my husband that we should elope to save my sanity and lose the deposits on the vendors we had already booked, he suggested we get a wedding planner. I looked at every bridal site to find the best of the best, and we Skyped with 4 different planners. I knew Nicola would be the one as soon as we spoke to her. She is the perfect mixture of professional and kind. It was truly a joy working with her and I wish we would have gotten Nicola from the beginning! We ended up getting her month planning services, which worked out perfectly for us, but if I could do it all over again I would have gotten her full service so she could help right at the start. The ceremony we had was very DIY and Nicola was essential in thinking of the details my husband or I never thought of. There is a really great website included (AislePlanner) that you can start putting all the information in so it is in one place. The biggest reason you should hire Nicola is piece of mind. After meeting with her a month before the wedding I stopped panicking about all the details and started looking forward to it. I would recommend her and her incredibly thoughtful and capable assistants (we had Amanda and Stephanie help out at ours) to any couple getting married, not just a DIY wedding. It really made all the difference to know that my husband and I didn’t have to stress about the details on our big day and that our family didn’t have to do any work either. She will save you money and tears. Do yourself a HUGE favor and get her services immediately.

Every step of the way, Nicola and her team put together the most incredible wedding we could have even tried to imagine! She came with us to just about every vendor meeting to make sure the right questions were asked and everything was properly aligned. Nicola and her team created both a visually stunning wedding that also operated so smoothly and seamlessly. When I saw the final look come together, I genuinely could not believe that this was our wedding. Genavieve was amazing as well! The day of, she was so kind when it came to guiding all of our guests and always seemed to appear at the exact moment I needed anything at all. Looking back, I cannot count how many people approached us afterwards and told us that it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended. I cannot recommend Simply Brilliant Events enough!!
