Stopped by here for a quick bite and t-shirt. There are hundreds of restaurants in New Orleans don't go here unless you know what you are going for, better food is elsewhere.
I generally loved the restaurant, food, music, and my hostess. I came for my birthday it changed my outlook on you guys. I had a dinner party and had a birthday gift stolen from my table and the response i received from management was purely unsatisfactory. I wont be coming back to this establishment.
Great venue! I was there for the National Beard and Moustache Championships in 2013.
Great gumbo. Awesome atmosphere. Server was sweatin'.
Great Music, great food, fantastic atmosphere. Staff was courteous, fast & attentive. Had a great time. Fairly pricey but being in a famous restaurant in a big city, that comes with the territory.
If you going here your going to love it period. Great music, staff is friendly and it has a fantastic atmosphere. Food is typical pub food but its all very good. The cajun fries are a much better take on french fries than most places have.
Amazing service and food! The live music was awesome to watch after eating a great meal!
Reggie music, neo soul, blues; live bands... sneak your own drink in , thumbs downs on bartenders for the price of a fruity drink...grab a beer if you must! I did not pay a cover fee but I arrived early and steadied late.
The House of Blues in New Orleans was welcoming from the street! As we approached an employee greeted us on the street entrance "Gangway". This let's you access the restaurant entry, Voo Doo garden (Live music opening seating with drinks and food from the bartender), or the concert line/entrance. Once inside the atmosphere was really cool with a dedication to Jake Elwood from the Blues Brothers Theme! The face castings in the ceiling of real blues music artists was really cool to see! The food was pretty good, but the Kids Pepperoni Pizza was not! The side of fruit (two kinds of grapes, pineapple, and strawberries) saved the pizza meal! The courtyard band was good and free with opening seating available at walk-in. They played a variety of music and the blues songs sounded excellent! All around nice dinner experience!
Fantastic venue , several bars and stages , multiple acts playing the night we were there. Huge selection of eats and drinks and very cool decor. Worth a visit
Great environment lots of fun!!
The real treat is the live music in the restaurant These are the local NOLA musicians who have been grinding it out and hsve earned their place on this stage. I watched a band of sit-ins piece together a set on stage with more professionalism and brevity than the vast majority of pro bands anywhere else. The performance was impeccable. Sound quality was outstanding. Food and service was excellent.
Seen Prince Experience. 2nd fl.balcony. He was great, but with no speakers up there and one little 40 in. screen, the audio and video sucked.
Loved the food and the music here the decor was vibrant and inviting. Will be visiting again
We visited New Orleans for to days, and we went here both days. It was good, and the people were super friendly. The kids enjoyed it too.
Every time we go, we enjoy ourselves...
We really enjoyed the live music and the food. The Shrimp Po'boy was great, the Key Lime Pie a little bit too sweet for my taste, though.
More places need to follow the example the customer service that HOB has in place ! The restaurant manager Michael went above and beyond to fix a problem we had while on vacation. Thank you all at HOB for being great. The Venue is amazing too! We really enjoyed the burlesque show Saturday and looking forward to UB40 on Tuesday.
Great music and food but the servers just try and hussle you out of the place so they can get more people in. I wanted to complain to management but like the servers could not be found. Avoid this joint if you want a relaxing evening!
Wonderful food and great atmosphere. First A meal of my visit to New Orleans. Friendly staff.
Had Dinner here and the Brisket was awesome. The house band was awesome(Jake and Paul), they took requests and entertaining.
I went for a brewfest. The beers were good, but the venue was way too crowded. The entertainment was cool, and there were many stages with things going on, so it made it a lot of fun...But the crowd was awful.
Good food, friendly staff. You can bring your kids to this venue and still see live music in New Orleans. No cover for the dining room.
Another must see when you come to New Orleans.. the foundation room is very comfortable.. live music good food
Great time! Love the venue! Balcony center is the best seat in the house! Thanks to the staff for allowing the kiwis from New Zealand to stand on stage! Made their trip!
House of Blues is a must when visiting NOLA. Right on Decatur Street in the heart of the French Quarter, House of Blues has multiple bars, and a great live venue inside. There is ample seating for those who would like dinner as well. Get there early, it fills up quick.
Great music venue. I enjoy the small venues very much. Lots of great talent comes through here all the time.
DMX concert was awesome. No waiting in line so I so love the pass the line tickets. I could have stress less if I knew it was that easy. I just recall the long, exhaustive lines and I know I was not up to it. Great experience!
We had the best gumbo of my life here. ♥️
Nice environment.. Lyfe was a tab bit too short.. but great concert.
Great staff and food. Awesome live music.
Great place to see a concert. Will be back for sure. Amanda the bartender in the foundation room was amazing.
Great venue with very friendly staff.
I like blues music so for me this was great
Atmosphere was amazing. Food was excellent as well.
Dropped by one evening. Seating was good, food excellent, music was great. Looking forward to my next trip to New Orleans . I will definitely go back to the house if Blues.
I'd give HOB NOLA 5 stars if it wasn't a corporate chain owned by Live Nation. Tips, Bon Temps, and other small venues I must reserve my most love for. Am I wrong? Maybe it should be 5 stars....
It was good as it always is can't get know better then that
This place is iconic and amazing! Awesome drinks served by stellar bartenders, paired with excellently-prepared Cajon specialties. Fabulous layout - from the dance floor to the balcony to the patio with a bar in each area so you don't have to go far to refresh your libation!
Heard a depeche mode cover band there. Was a lot of fun. A lot of tourists, but also some locals. Drink prices not too too bad for the quarter.
My experience at the House of Blues was wonderful. Great food and drinks and people. The only suggestion I would have is to at least have some type of sitting for people other than VIP when you have general admission. Other than that we had a Great time and will most definitely will be back
Great venue to see a concert, anywhere is close to the stage.
Great food and very friendly employees. We make sure we go here everytime we're in New Orleans.
Delicious food and great music. Entrees were good, not great but the caramel bread pudding dessert was to die for. I might go back just for that. Boozey drinks are a plus.
ALWAYS A GREAT PLACE TO PARTY
My husband and I were celebrating our 37 anniversary here in New Orleans. We had a blast the food was great as was the excellent customer service..we're planning on returning again very soon!!
I had the juicy Lucy, it was delicious! Great atmosphere and service, really enjoyed the live band while I ate.
First time having a Poboy, and it was pretty amazing! Couldn't finish it all myself due to my lady not bring able to control herself and eat her own food. Which was pretty good as well. Drinks were on point. The decor is very nice, attention to detail is refreshing. Will definitely be back!
Was ton of fun. Live band was great. Food was pretty good. Pretty pricey for what we got.
Nice staff, great music. We went to the garden area and enjoyed hanging out there on a Saturday night. We wished the fans oscillated so we could have felt them. The bar choices were good. Would like to see more local beer support from them. Only one Abita option, Amber.
Thr House of blues was a wonderful place. I reunited with my ex at the Lyfe Jennings concert and life is great for us. Thanks house of blues for inviting Lyfe Jennings to perform there.
One of the best in the country New Orleans is a great great place to unwind Will return
Great location for live music.
Had 2 different experiences with the Parish room. Bad Girls of Burlesque and Inferno Burlesque. Bad Girls of Burselque was a thousand times more better. If someone has experienced a burlesque show before skip Inferno. The entertainment and atmosphere was great and so was the food. The only problem was the check. Both times I went, my card was swiped for someone else's check. The waiters dont pay attention to what they are doing and then i have to watch my bank account to ensure the charges fall off. USE CASH only.
Yummy food and good music.
Love the venue, and they have a very good line up of different artists that play there.
Great food and music! Favorite memory when my band Dr Rock played before Ann Wilson on my birthday!
Excellent service. Our waitress Kate checked on our party of three numerous times during the meal and went out of her way to make sure our meal was good. All the food was excellent and served in a timely manner (especially the appetizer Voodoo Shrimp. Nice, clean place with good music and musician was more than happy to take requests. Best place I've eaten in New Orleans.
This is hands down one if the best venues in the city to listen to live music. I'm partial to Frenchmen's street but HOB Nola is the best. I always have a great time here. Parking is an issue but that's the French Quarters. If you can spring for balcony tickets. That's a whole different experience! Overall great time there...
Outstanding staff, very friendly with that good old-fashioned southern charm. Their store is well-stocked with House of Blues t-shirts & other memorabilia. Highly unique decor. The ceiling is one of a kind--just beautiful.
Our server Katie (Katelyn) and the hostess Nikki were amazing. They made it an experience for sure. Katie gave us insight to the local traditions of NOLA whole Nikki made us feel beyond comfortable during our stay. When I return to NOLA, I'll definitely be returning to the HOB. I originally ordered the New Orleans Pasta and it had very little meat and plenty of lemon zest which didn't taste right. I then ordered the Fried chicken and to my surprise, it was bland. I asked my server to bring out sauces to help "dress it up" and that did the trick. The Hurricane was decent but $14. I fell in love with the carvings of the soul artists in the ceiling.
Nice atmosphere, good music and southern style food.
I came to this venue to see a dear friend of mine who was playing. I showed up and they would not allow me in the venue. I dress in white and wear sandals for religious reasons. I travel a lot and am a spiritual focused person. They said they would not let me in because I wear sandals. Sybil was the manager. I explained I wear sandals out of religious reasons following Jesus from the Bible. She said she would respect someone wearing a turban or Muslim wear and would understand that but not me “because there was no reference.” I said clearly in the Bible Jesus wore sandals and I am a follower, following example. She said she would not allow me in. If Jesus visited she would turn Him away. It doesn’t matter what religion anyone is, they should not disrespect or discriminate against someone’s religious garb. Thanks for making me feel awful and turning me away when making a special trip to see my friend preform. I will never visit this venue and encourage others not to because they discriminate.
The food is awesome and music great! Loved it, first time in New Orleans, definitely recommend this place!
I actually was upstairs in the very beautiful and exotic Foundation Room. Great DJ, I love the atmosphere it's very exotic with an middle East feel. Food is delicious, the staff are very friendly and knows members. Drinks are pretty spendy. Makes for a great date.
Great venue for live music. Food is good although not the best New Orleans has to offer. Drinks are a little pricey but the live music makes up for that.
We come here almost every time we are in town. Food is excellent, atmosphere is so interesting with blues & jazz music decor. Excellent venue for casual dinner & concert in the Music Hall.
Nice venue! The band ZEBRA were doing a New Years Eve concert. Never got a chance to see them in the 80's.... they put on an awesome show! Great view of the stage from anywhere!
staff was great, love da parish room :)
Great all around. There really was no down points. Our drinks were great, the nacho appetizer was amazing, and our entrees were perfect. Additionally, we went to the Inferno Burlesque Show after, hosted by HOB, and Maquinna (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) really went out of her way to help us. It was greatly appreciated. Best night out this trip!
Food was excellent!!! We got the gumbo and fettuccini pasta. Service was excellent!! Everything made from scratch. Live music. Vibrate colors and art work
Fun night. U 2 tribute band was not so exciting. Food, drinks and friends were Good.
Brewsiana was amazing! Loved it and all the people too.
Great spot to listen to live music. Lively. Come have a cold beverage and enjoy yourself.
Had the po boy and jambalaya. Delicious! Music was great too.
Lousy food. Warm beer. Nasty security
We had the best bartender ever. I wish i could remember his name.
Such a wonderful time. The band was absolutely awesome and even played sesame Street for my kids. My kids went up and played with the band. The woman at the host stand was extremely kind made us feel very welcome! I cannot wait to go back.
A good place for an intimate show. The people who work there are courteous and helpful. I appreciate that it's a no smoking venue. Drinks are way overpriced.
Good food and drinks nice staff good music cant felt it.
We visited this restaurant because we saw it featured in "Girls Trip". Everything we ordered was great, filling and filled with flavor!
Super yummy food, staff were really friendly
Had a great time and the meal was good.
Attended the Zone Music Reporter Award Show tonight and it was amazing! Great venue and the music was outstanding!!
The food and service was excellent!! Loved the live music! Worth the money!!!
Love the vibes, decor and food! Place is clean and the staff is very friendly.
The food was great!! I had brisket nachos OMG
Very good food, no blues tho, unless Tom Petty is blues...
So many different shades of blue a whole house worth.
Fantastic food and service. Amazing environment.
Best meal in NOLA yet and my 2nd visit. I’ve been here a week and hands down DELISH. I had the steak and my brother had the ribs. Both were excellent and the sides were spot on. Music was a very nice bonus.
A fantastic show in a great venue. Only negative would be the uncomfortable chairs but everything else was great.
Food was delicious.. service was awesome.. band was decent
Excellent food. Authentic, and at surprisingly reasonable prices for the amazing quality.
LOVED the experience, but the food was just so-so. If you are a jazz fan, you will be interested in their beautiful ceiling tiles of all the jazz greats. They are backlit and are really intriguing.
Great music. Good prices. Pleasant staff. All in all a good experience.
Sunday brunch. Free memosas. Amazing food, buffet was hands down the best buffet I've ever had, and I'm from Memphis, so we have some awesome buffets at home, so that's saying a lot. Great music, you have a main singer/hostess and ours was great. You get to choose where you sit, we sat upstairs front center, that was a great view of the stage. Plus both upstairs and downstairs each have identical buffets. Now if you're looking for gospel music to be played here at this Sunday brunch, that's not what they do, at least that's not what they did the day we went. It was still a good time, no so much gospel as I anticipated but most of the songs you'll still know. I would go again if I ever come back to New Orleans.
This place is absolutely fantastic when it comes to perfect hospitality, delicious food, and a great atmosphere! Any time I go back to NOLA I will make a point to eat here because of how great the experience was. A HUGE thanks to Mike and Abby!!! They are the ones that made the experience as great as it was!! Thanks again!!
PHINTASTIC, COLD Beer and great Air Conditioning
No smoking. Employees ROCK! Great job!
Love this place! I've been to NOLA three times now and have eaten here and eaten something different off the menu each time... always delicious. This was the first time I actually ate at the bar though and I'm glad we did... the bartenders were awesome and kept us entertained! Can't wait to visit NOLA again and to try something new at the House of Blues!
Wonderful atmosphere and experience! Live music and shows. They also have a cute gift shop.
Definitely a place to go to in New Orleans. Entertainment was great, Jason Bishop was the musician who played while we were there. He covered many great blues artists. The menu was quite varied and the portions generous. We shared the brisket sandwich, the pork was a bit fatty otherwise very tasty.
Amazing food. Great music. Excellent staff. Tasty cocktails. Hearty portions. I recommend the voodoo shrimp and the smokehouse platter (feeds 4), but I'm sure everything else is good, too. Ask if Sierra can be your waitress; she'll take great care of you.
If you are looking for a place to go that is not on bourbon at but still want to enjoy some music this is a good option. Food is great and reasonably priced. Service was very good. Good for groups, families or dining alone.
Nothing wrong with the place. I just like tiny crowded dive bars like the Apple Barrel instead. Judging the music venue in the back courtyard alone, I'd give it four or five stars - but you don't get that option. The music up front was so loud I could feel my internal organs vibrate.
Kate is awesome, such a great attribute to the House of Blues. She takes extra great care sharing information and tips to have a good time in New Orleans. Josh, the manager is friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend.
Love this venue! You just feel so close to the band, and I love the homey size of it. Plus you cannot beat its location!
Food was amazing. Music was pretty good, service was friendly and fast. I really enjoyed our experience here and would definitely make a stop on our next trip.
Free comedy show on Wednesday, local talent featured.
Just a great place. Excellent food, decor, and music.
If you have any handicap or health issue that you may need to sit down during a concert, this is not the place for you! I attended the ICP concert Oct 18th. I have Multiple Sclerosis, a heart injury and lung issues that cause me to need to sit down and catch my breath. I carry medical proof and all medications. I had been standing already for 5 hours. I asked a guy in a blue shirt if I could please sit down a few minutes due to my issues. He said, "sorry maam. No can do You knew this was standing room only when you bought your ticket. It states on there". Then he proceeded to tell me that could walk down and purchase a seat in VIP for around $75. I am use to going to the HOB venue in Dallas, Tx. Never had an issue there. Staff is great with my issues and respect people with handicap and disabilities. I will never attend an event at this location again. Even people with health issues want to attend events. I feel this was rude and discriminatory against people like me. You are willing to take a chance on someone's health and possibly their life over a chair for a few mintues? I know, not your problem because I "knew in advance". Oh, well. Dallas venue only from now on. That was my first and last time to go in NO.
Not What I expected At All. We Did Not Even Stay To See Lyfe Jennings. Thoroughly Disappointed But He Can Keep The Money I Spent On The Tickets. He Needs It Way More Than Me If He Has To Play In A Nasty Hole Like This. I met him almost 20 years ago and I really though Lyfe Had More CLASS. Guess He Is Down And Out. God Bless.
Really enjoyed the music! And the food was great! A really great place to hang out and listen to great music!
House of Blues is so aesthetically pleasing. The service was great. The food (jambalaya) and drinks (hurricanes) were amazing! And the show was to die for! I will definitely be back.
Friendly attentive service make you feel welcome. Bar food is excellent with ample quantities. An elevator is available right next to the entrance stairs, so no one is left out of the fun! This place is down to earth with it's friendly atmosphere. Local on tap beer is available as well as an assortment of wine.
Great food! The only bad thing was that they didnt have straws or plastic bags for takeaways.. I understand if they wanted to be ecofriendly but they should offer alternatives if that was the case. Other than that, awesome food, service, and live music!
Great food great music! Will definitely be back! Its a must go if your in town
Always love the sound system in this place!
Decent but very commercial, if you're looking for a more authentic NOLA blues experience HOB is not your first choice... Revision: In fairness based on the owners response.... We were aware of the history of the HOB. It was the primary reason our group made it our first choice. However after reading your response maybe it will be helpful you hear a bit more detail to our collective experience as I wouldn't want to insult you, your staff or deter others from visiting your establishment. We appreciate the culture/history and is the reason we came to NOLA however our desire was to experience blues music. Who better than HOB to provide this was our thought... The evening we visited, we were seated in the back outdoor garden where a country/rock band was located. Good band, but not blues or what maybe our group was seeking. However, enjoyable. The history of the French Q is undeniable as is the culture. We weren't looking for a commercial experience so the building of itself, specifically the walk in was killer and loved the fact your walls are dated... We also weren't looking to pay to see a concert per say so the commercial statement I made was more relative to the fact we visited many establishments where you can stumble upon a great blues band without paying big $ for a VIP experience your venue offers. That to me is the NOLA experience of itself.... With this being said, my review as others, is personal based on the solo visit to the HOB and comparing what other experiences I have had on my number of visits to NOLA. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
Absolutely love this place!! The House of Blues never lets me down. I was here April 3rd for the SoMo concert. It was easy to find and the atmosphere was incredible!! Two of the workers(I hate I didn't get their names, pictured and took photo) were hilarious. Great people. I love my Louisiana!
Food was not good. It was an upscale version of Friday's. Not what I expected in NO.
I really loved the food and the burlesque show was really entertaining. I'll be back next time I'm in New Orleans.
Horrible food but decent service we liked Kat's personality big time. Other than that fire the GM and hire someone who know about standards. Applebees is better thank God I had a $50 credit after spending $50. Bought tickets to Motet online only to here staff say they were now half price due to lack of interest or sales one of the two . Sorry I wanted to love the experience even cancelled expensive reservations at Soubou to be where the show was gonna be at to make it and combining experience. Thank God again that I had a back up show planned for the Joy theater.
Excellent place, had a wonderful ambience to the restaurant and food was excellent, prices were appropriate for the service and quality of the the food, music was great and gift shop was very good and full of great products. Will definitely go back.
The music venue has different areas that cost different prices. Standing room only is usually an affordable way to see a great show!
The restaurant was beautiful and clean. Food was excellent - good prices, good portions. Wait time was a little long.
Historic house of blues. Great band and atmosphere.

Came over from Pensacola FL to see the Winery Dogs...had a few drinks and dinner before the show...friendly and attentive staff the food was great.. Overall we had an excellent time.. If there's a band you're a fan of and you can see them there I highly recommend doing so!!
Had a blast here! Stumble across it and went to the back gardens. Free live band and the drinks were great and not too pricey. If you want to enjoy some music, I highly recommend. The band was very interactive.
The gospel brunch was amazing! It was my first time doing this, and I will do it again.
This place is a fantastic venue that has a couple layers. The upper area in the foundation room is awesome and they have another area on the second floor for parties and stuff. The bottom area has the stage in the back with a bar and a crowd area. Overall fantastic place for concerts, parties, and VIP events
Expected something maybe a little more upscale. A quieter place with real blues music. This was to rush rush through the evening like a chiles or any chain reataurant. To pricey for what we got.
Experience was for a free stand-up comedy experience, but the real joy beyond the MC was the live music inside... A lovely bit of blues and folk styled music by a single performer filled the dining area. Food is average, so come for the music or shows.
The food was delicious. The live music was also nice I wish the band was bigger. The service was on point and polite. I had Gumbo which was tasty and grilled blackened salmon. One word. Yum.
Had a great time. Tom keifer show was phenomenal as usual. Seemed like everyone was really rocking it out. Our waitress was very nice
Amazing venue and atmosphere. Friendly vibes AND unlimited refills on coke!!
Great events at this place, my only complaint is the chairs... It's like sitting on the floor.
No wait. Great ribs and sides. Great decor and Mus ic.
My husband and I visited while in town to enjoy some music and have a couple of drinks and we had a great time! We listened to MICHAEL LIUZZA and he did a great job! The drinks were really good and very reasonably priced! The service was good and the atmosphere is right on point. We can't wait to come back when we are in town. We didn't try any of the food, but watched as others got their meals and it looked really good. Would recommend to anyone! Stop in and discover some great music, enjoy a few drinks and take in the atmosphere.
Had so much fun with husband & friends here! Live music was excellent, and, of course, we just HAD to sing along! Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was fabulous! My mouth waters just thinking about the brisket! Drinks were good, too. Just so much history in this little joint... I just can't believe I was there! Glad I didn't miss it on my trip to the area!!! (oh, and if ordering the bread pudding... be sure you're really hungry or can share it with 3 other people. It's huge and buttery. YUM!)
Really cool place. We were in a special venue, and it was amazing. The bartender was the best.
Great music, great food and meet some great people at our table. Have to visit again
Great place , lots of fun ...only problem was that it was very hot and we could not find a cool spot . One bartender was very attentive but the girl at the other bar struggled to keep up.All in all, we had lots of fun..
Amazing experience! Totally worth the 9 hour trip to NOLA!
Be careful going in here, there's cops watching the door, so don't act a fool! Just kidding! I actually enjoyed the music here and will hopefully come back next time I'm in town!
Food, drinks, music nice place to hangout
