The place is very nice and the wedding we had their was georgeous. However, the mother of the bride should be able to have time to spend with her daughter on that very special day. If the mother of the bride is involved with any of the decorations, the flowers, catering, etc, THINK AGAIN.....CHESTERTON'S DOES NOT ALLOW enought time for the mother of the bride to be involved with the decorations or anything else to make the place fixed up the way your daughter wants. The place is nice enough by itself without any decorations. However, your daughter is going to want her on colors, decorations, etc. We were given two hours to decorate and 30 minutes to take it all down, pack it up and take it away. If you schedule an afternoon wedding, the only time you are allowed in the place to decorate or have anything delivered is 3PM in the afternoon so if you have a 6PM wedding, the MOTHER OF THE BRIDE is tied up with decorations for 2 or more hours rushing around and worrying about if her daughter needs her wherever she getting ready, and worrying about if it's perfect the way your daughter wants, and worrying about will you have enough time to freshen up before the wedding. THE MOTHER OF THE BRIDE has no time to spend with her daughter while she is dressing or involved in the escort trip to Chesterton's for the wedding because THE MOTHER OF THE BRIDE is trying to rush around get the decorations done and other stuff to make things look perfect for her daughter then try to rush and get herself ready before the wedding. My experience with CHESTERTON's was not a good one. I was stressed out so much, not much time to throw the decorations up and make the place look perfect for my daughter. I did not get to spend any time with my daughter while she was getting dressed. IF THE MOTHER OF THE BRIDE IS INVOLVED IN ANY WAY, WITH ANY OF THE DECORATIONS, CATERING, ETC, BEWARE OF THE LIMITED TIME RESTRAINTS YOU HAVE. I would advise the MOTHER OF THE BRIDE to not be involved with any of the decorations, catering, flowers, etc., If you can afford it, pay someone else or have a distant cousin organize fixing up the place for your daughter's wedding. THE MOTHER OF THE BRIDE SHOULD BE WITH HER DAUGHTER ON THAT VERY SPECIAL DAY, HUGGING HER AND BEING THEIR IN CASE SHE GETS NERVOUS OR JUST FOR MORAL SUPPORT......SO, take it from me......MOTHER OF THE BRIDE....let someone else get the place ready with the decorations and everything else to make your daughter's special day perfect. YOU, MOTHER OF THE BRIDE....BE FREE ALL DAY TO BE WITH YOUR DAUGHTER....I was so wore out from all the work I had to do 3 hours before the wedding that I couldn't enjoy the wedding or the reception....I WAS TO TIRED....then I cried when I finally got it all done because I was exhausted. If it wouldn't have been for us renting a hotel room at Microtel suites in Ponchatoula, I would have been crap out of luck on even getting freshened up before I had to put my dress on for the wedding. That place caused me to have to be tooooo rush rush and no relaxing time and for sure NO TIME WITH MY DAUGHTER HOURS BEFORE HER WEDDING....I think Chesterton's needs to ask if THE MOTHER OF THE BRIDE is going to be involved in decorating, caterers, etc. and if so, Chesterton's should allow THE MOTHER OF THE BRIDE to go in early that morning, maybe around 11AM if an evening wedding and be able to decorate so THE MOTHER OF THE BRIDE has some free time to go spend with her daughter and for sure....if it takes 2 hours to decorate, give more than 30 minutes to take it all down and pack it all up and ship it all out the door.

This place is only for people who needs to do a wedding or a dance party made for. It could fit in almost 300 people or more I guess, there will be waitress and or waiter for you and help you for what you need to prepare, and it is a very nice and beautiful inside, but when you put a loud music or DJ inside of there, it's too loud! I don't like it it's not my thing! Outside the wall are made of iron and steel, so when the loud sound wave bounce back, it could make you feel little headache and dizziness. But over all its nice!

The staff was extremely friendly, responsive, and worked with us in every way to make our wedding reception a dream come true! The building is absolutely gorgeous, inside and out! The layout was customized to fit our needs in every way. Large, immaculately clean bathrooms too. It was truly everything we wanted, and we got endless compliments from our guests on how beautiful our reception was! They made the entire night run so smoothly so we could just enjoy our special night! It was perfect. Highly recommend!!!

Attended a wedding and reception at this venue. Very clean, beautiful, open and spacious. Room enough for a nice ceremony sectioned off on one side and a large reception with dancing on the other. The only down side is when a train passes right across the street blowing the horn, but they run through quick.

Beautiful facility that makes the most of a brick facade and a glorified tent behind it. I could definitely see it working for weddings. I went for the Chesterton Conference (naturally). Had a fantastic time.

I agree with the other reviewer. The time limitations for set up are ridiculous. And the "hostess" or woman in charge was the rudest person ever.

under new ownership and management, this is now an all inclusive venue. It's absolutely gorgeous inside and out. The new owner is very sweet. She'll go out of her way to make your event exceptional. The venue space can be modified to suit smaller events or opened to it's full size for large ones. 10,000+ square feet!

Celebrated my daughters wedding and reception at Chesterton Square. I was a little concerned becs changing owners happened a few weeks before the big day. But I have to say, Tammy Murphy you pulled through for us. Misty and Josh’s wedding was a hit. You were on top of everything and your staff was awesome. Staff dressed and acted professionally.

Attended a Reception here a few weeks ago and the transformation from what is was before is remarkable. Seeing the way this event was ran unlike before proves that the new owner has exceptional experience in this industry. From the service of the wait staff, the personal bridal & groom attendants, the on floor manager, event coordinator to the sparkler exit at the end. I observed the personal care each parent received as they spent their night enjoying the celebration instead of worrying what to do next. I had my daughters wedding here a few years ago and wish we would have had this type of service. I commend this young ladies drive to prosper this beautiful facility and wish her many years of success. I 100 percent recommend Chesterton Square for any event.
