On April 12 the Convention Center team hosted our 2016 Rotary District Conference which attracted 300+ Rotarians and guests, mostly from Southern Indiana, but some from as far away as Germany and India. The Convention Center team provided outstanding support, and Rotarians gave the conference, including facilities, meals and staff highest marks.

Was at this place for a job fair. Building was very nice and didn't echo like some large open area's do, ac worked fantastic, was very clean, and looked very well maintained. The front desk staff were very friendly. The one part i didn't like is that getting to the room the job fair was in from the front entrance was very confusing as you need to snake your way through 2 sets of double doors and 4 90 degree corners all of which had very little or no signs up to direct you. Thankfully the people at the front desk were good at giving instructions.

First of all, the Bloomington Convention Center is a beautiful location. We were able to have the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all at the same location. Everything was beautiful! But the real appeal of the Bloomington Convention Center is the support received from Lauren Dexter. She had helpful input with the details of the wedding since she had so much experience with the space. Not to mention she was always there via email or phone to answer my endless list of questions or requests. She has great taste, a heart of gold and is extremely accommodating and this comes through in her commitment to her work and to her clients. I would highly recommend Lauren Dexter with the Bloomington Convention Center for your wedding needs! In addition, we want to thank and give compliments to Janet, the chef and her team! The food was beyond excellent, so much so that many of the guest have asked if we can get the recipes used. There was not ONE complaint about the food, on the contrary, every guests loved the food and the service. Janet went above and beyond to make sure that our request were met. In order to ensure that every part of the menu was perfect, she offered us not one but two food tastings, made dishes from recipes we provided, and even specially handmade a salad dressing to be placed at each table. Thank you again Janet! Lastly, we want to express our sincere thanks to the entire Bloomington Convention Center staff for the tremendous job you did at our wedding. We were amazed at the quality of service we received from each and every one of your staff members! The next day we received so many great compliments from our guests on how everything turned out beautifully and it was one of the best weddings they had ever attended! Without question Lauren, Janet and the BCC staff were a critical element to the success of our special day and we are forever grateful that you made our wedding day the best party of our lives! Thank you again!

I have only been here for career fairs, but it has been a positive experience overall. They don't have any Good place to fill up water bottles like spots on campus at Indiana University, but the bathrooms are pretty nice.

The three Rotary Clubs of Bloomington held their Centennial Gala May 10, 2018 at the Monroe Convention Center. The pre planning meeting with staff and the final planning meeting were extremely helpful. The catering staff helped us when we completely forgot one table of guests, never missed a beat. Poliet, efficient and very accomodating. Markey's helped run the projection for our event, sound perfect for singers, great atmosphere and co-ordination. Lisa managed all of our changes and requests was a delight to work with. When things happened unexpectedly, they made it work. Our event was a total success! I recently worked with Bloomington/Monroe County Convention Center and had the pleasure of finding out how great the staff is. For one, they are so responsive to any needs you have, and with that being said, they are attentive to those details that you request. Overall, they are just so cooperative during the occasion you need them for. To top it all off, the venue here is just lovely.

I was at there wedding expo with Arthur Murray dance studio. The staff for the event are great. The Convention Center is decent looking. It could use an upgrade. But it's still a nice Convention Center. There is a lot of space upstairs. There is an escalator to take you to the upstairs. Or you can use the elevator. There is not however an escalator that goes down.

It's a nice, large place with well-chosen artwork, open spaces, and a lot of good events, including important civic meetings. They do need more space overall, and The City knows it!! Hopefully they will be able to remedy this in the not-too-distant future!!!
