REVIEWS OF House of Blues Restaurant & Bar IN Illinois

Seth Monk

The House of Blues is an awesome venue!! They always get great bands to play and they know how to put on a show. The bartenders are great too.

Twanny D

Always a good time here, great shows and acoustics.

Jag Singh

Fun spot, check out the lounge on the 4th floor for great comedy and atmosphere :)

nickie geros

Great to see music but If you do GA & stand or are short it sucks. People need to learn 2 hold their liquor. It's disgusting! I'd rather have a nice balcony seat! Use Spot hero to park at hotel across the street valet.Cheapest way.

Napz4dayz Tiffani

I'm a member here and love the venue. Foundation Room is always fun and the staff is bomb, hey Ken & Russell! VIP whenever I'm there, great experience.

dave roberts

My home was here at Marina City, for 14 years. always good to come back to this exciting place. For music drinks or breakfast

Holly Boers

Great spot for intimate concerts. Saw Here Come The Mummies, they were fantastic!

Jorge Hernandez

Beautiful place with delicious foods great drinks and live music.

Samantha Smoker

I had a couple issues my first visit here. I went to Erin, the music hall director and she took care of them right away. She made sure my next visit was phenomenal and I had the House of Blues experience. The food is great, the shows are amazing, and the staff are so helpful. I’m already excited for my next show and can’t wait to go back!

Chuck Springer

The House of Blues is, and always will be, a great place to stop. There is great food, great drinks, fantastic music, and a wonderful atmosphere! The staff there are kind and actually fun to talk to. When you are downstairs make sure you look up at the ceiling and watch it flex up and down with the band and concert goers movements! What a blast!

logan keck

I have seen thousands of venues across the country, staff is top notch. Venue is absolutely gorgeous. Food is some of the best in Chicago. Couldn't be more impressed with what HOB has to offer.

Raj S

Heavily happening place.. very cool and designed with cosmo mindset.. great staff The manager was along in the elevator and made a quick gesture to ask how was my visit here. They care about the place and their customers. Good food options. The event already picked the food for us but would like to try what's in the menu next time.

Hannah Barron

Went to a show here last night, and I have to say, you guys hired some awesome security! There was a gentleman wearing a house of blues security shirt with the number 7 on it, younger man about 6'2" maybe, but he was seriously awesome. You guys should be so proud to have a wonderful employee like him! He saw me get hurt and immediately offered to pull me out of the crowd, it was just great to see someone so nice and enthusiastic about their job. I've never seen a security guard who left an impression on anybody but this guy was wonderful. Cheers!

Judy Zimmerman

Awesome food and dining experience! Love the "Live Blues music" in restaurant and decor. I had the Yardbird That was an amazing chicken breast tasty Crispy crust. The key lime pie was to die for. Beautiful theater and architecture where the concert" Gin Blossoms" concert was. I would definitely go back when I'm in Chicago!

Sue Sadkowski

Great place for live music. Seen many bands here, always a good time.

Bradley Nye

I absolutely LOVE this place. It looks amazing inside. It is the perfect size for great concerts plus the bartenders and other staff are friendly and professional.

Eliseo Guzman

I'm not a religious person but I found the gospel brunch lifting. The food was excellent

Mee Andrew

Hands down the best music venue in Chicago. Amazing food as well.

Steven Sundstrom

Great venue for a concert. Bar and tables in the balcony are great, with a decent beer selection including 12oz Zombie Dust ($7), 16oz Daisy Cutter ($9), and they also have 20oz cans of White Claw ($12), and plenty of other selections. The bartenders were all fast and friendly. View of the stage from the balcony was great, and they have multiple monitors around on the walls too. The VIP area at the front of the balcony was a bit of a nuisance since it cut the space significantly, and I can't imagine the people who pay to sit there are that happy, but I'll have to reassess that once I pay to sit there with dedicated server and direct views. The sound was great no matter where I was, bathrooms were actually clean and the staff, from security to ticket-scanners, were all professional.

Tom Hill

SRO madness. Every concert I've ever been to here is just packed. But it's such a nice small intimate space that you feel like you are right in the middle of the band. Today was the Anberlin reunion tour and it was everything I could have hoped for, and more. Great place to see a concert!

Betty Yang

Talk about great sound, amazing place to have a fun night out. Do not miss this gem location. Chicago is full of them!

Nick Gorsky

man I spend so much time with blues and this place bring me back ... good memories

Chris LaBounty

This is an amazing place. Really difficult to engage in conversation because of the ambient noise, but I guess that's not really what the place is all about. Very cool building and high energy vibe inside. Legendary.

Mr. Nice Guy

Friend who works here let me in after hours. Had a blast! Nice place. Choice Liquors.

ira Wesley

Ira is a license chauffeur. My client requested I drive them to beautiful House of Blues and it is beautiful. Swinging with a lot of people.

Ryan Hackett

Gospel brunch is a wonderful time. highly recommend

Russ Sorber

Great music, good food, interesting decor. Especially liked Mississippi Heat band. Favorite menu items include Jambalaya as well as key lime pie. Expensive parking is the only down side. Hotel across street has parking rates slightly cheaper than lot adjacent to HoB.

Mary Heckert

Fun place but I can't eat that much spicy, garlic-y ,fried food.

Brandon McCoin

Always a great time! Especially when your friends are in headliner band.

Byron Suggs

Great venue to see a live show. Great sound, great ambiance. There's actually 2 levels to see a live show. There's a stage on the 1st level inside the restaurant where you can see great blues acts or you can pay to see the show upstairs. We were upstairs to see Tesla, and it was a great show!!!!

John Oliver

Delicious shrimp and grits. And, to really early the 5 star review, my great bartender Rachel made an Orange Whip on request!

Kirsten Thomas

Amazing! It was so neat and Richard is the best. We went in just to look at it and he was so friendly. He gave us a tour of the prayer rooms and he showed us the stage. He was like family and he introduced us to a man and he called us his cousins. If you have the chance to go there make sure you ask to meet Richard!

Mary Claudio

This place is Amazing, they have a very good spread for brunch. The employees are very customer service oriented and very friendly making sure that you are well taken care of. A big shot out to especially the management, Richard Claudio and Brian Szopinski.

Chris Kennedy

It’s got to be on your list of places to visit when in Chicago. Super family friendly, live music ever single night. Bring hard cash with you. Entrance fee is $10 per person, paid in cash or charges to your hotel room if you’re staying at the House of Blues Hotel. Tables are reserved for people dining, with seats available by the bar for those wanting to take in the atmosphere / dance. From around 10pm it’s open seating, so you’re able to grab a table without ordering food. We were lucky enough to hear The Smiley Tillman band with Kate Moss. Thoroughly recommended listening. They really made my visit to Chicago memorable.

Sheri Steele

Nice music, nice scene good positive vibes nice place to go on date night

Myia Brown

Always a cool location! Two long islands at the bar was a little over $32. We also had the Angus sliders (2 burgers and fries) for like $12. Get there early if it's for a concert!

Amanda Beck

I'm giving it two stars solely for the sound system. Because that's all I could hear as I couldn't see the band I spent money to come see... This was my sons first concert and we only were able to get resale balcony tickets... The way the balconies are set up no one in our group could see over them.. A nice security guy told me I could push a cushy chair up to the railing on the top balcony.. But we still could hardly see.. It's a beautiful venue but those balconies are stupidly placed.. So A+ for sound... But for what I spent on tickets I should have been able to at least see the stage. Will very likely never revisit.

Forrest Lockwood

Good food and music. A cool looking place also.

John G

Saw the band Camino. They where amazing! Great staff! Very great service!

Kevin Hill

Fun place and great vibe. The music was top notch.

Paul Neighbour

Good food, drinks and service, with live music thrown in.

Aninditta Rao

Went in to see it during the Chicago Open house. Eclectic decor! The foundation room and the meditation rooms have a comfortable shabby chic south Asian decor with cloth walls and giant statues of Buddha and Ganesha. Worth a visit.

Leslie Cates Schauer

Wow close venue, feels like you can almost touch them. Great service

Regina Howe

I attended a rock concert. Drink prices are reasonable for a concert. I didn't try the food. The bathrooms are exceptionally well kept. The staff is attentive & thorough.

Mz T

Enjoyed myself to the fullest. Live entertainment was on point had the place rocking. Food was good & our waitress was excellent.

Amanda Gremban

You get a thorough "meh". For a legendary place I wasn't impressed. I was there tonight for the Within Temptation concert. In my opinion it was over sold. It was so crowded you could barely move. And being 5'2" I couldn't see anything until I stood on the stairs to the balcony. Then I could partially see. VIP seating where I might have been able to see was $100 a person. I'm a broke girl from Detroit trying to see her favorite band. I don't have that money. I could barley afford the trip. I know suggestions are usually helpful but I've got none. I don't plan events even in my family. The only thing I've got is don't sell so many tickets. But then I'll fully admit that you may not have had as much to with it as I think. Maybe it was the band making decisions. I don't know. But I wasn't impressed. But if I'm ever back in Chicago I might give you another chance. You seem great. You're legendary for a reason. I think it was just bad circumstances tonight.

Abrianna

I wish I could go back again and again. It's beautiful there and the music was awesome.

Adetunji Adeshina

House of Blues Chicago is one of my favorite venue to watch up close your favorite artist and it's also a fun place to socialize with friends !!!

Juan Cardenas

The food is very taste, there are many shows of blues, each bands plays for 1 hours and there are always some band playing, very good. The restaurant is very nice, however the access is not easy it is easy not found it.

Glen White

Love the atmosphere for a show. The setup the aesthetics of the hall is real nice. The resteraunt staff could use a small attitude adjustment. Realize there is a show going on and try not to send everyone to an overcrowded bar.

Floyd Bean

Celebrated my 65th birthday. The food was was delicious. Services and entertainment was excellent. The receptionist and the waitresses were fantastic.

Brandon Hertel

Beautiful place enjoyed the venue and the people were super friendly would suggest anyone to come check it out!

Heidi OToole

Loved performing on the stage where so many amazing performers have performed. Pinch me!

Scott Ensign

There was a cover for a band that largely didn't show up. The atmosphere was just ok.

Joseph Brayshaw

Excellent cozy little venue with some limited food and drink options that was very easy to check in to

Leony Gaine

i really like this place. good bar food, if you like bar food. fair prices. knowledgeable staff (without a bad attitude). eclectic crowd,

Benjamin Lakis

Went here 2 weekends ago, have been wanting to visit this venue for a while. The art and architecture are stunning and the sound quality was top notch. The drinks were fine, and the pizza was definitely some of the better cheap pizzas I've had in a while. Definitely will stop back again given the opportunity

Allyson Kebschull

Very nice venue, staff was amazing when i called for reserved seating for my father who needed special seating with a wheel chair. When we arrived the staff was so willing to help, very professional, very kind.

Jacqueline Affatati

Great venue. Friendly and welcoming staff. Very impressed with our experience and service.

Gina Scala

Great service & the drinks were great too but parking is way too expensive!

Jonathan Hill

Came here for the Anberlin reunion tour concert. Was an absolutely fantastic show. Tickets, food, and drinks are all pricey but high quality. Standing room only for general admission. Must pay extra for bar or box seating. Does get hot down in the crowd but you don't care when the show is going. Beautiful venue overall inside and out.

Justin Pontius

Awesome venue. Sound system is spot on. Drinks can be pricey, but that's expected at a concert venue.

Angela Gallios

Security is OUT OF CONTROL Why is it necessary for a more thorough screening than I get at the airport?? Complete with a pat down??? Very invasive!

Peter V Sheehan

Sunday Gospel Brunch, such good value. A buffet lunch and a full blown Gospel show. Well worth a visit.

chad svastisalee

Weekday concert from a cover band delivered big sound and stage precense. Attended Strangelove The Depeche Mode Experience. Unforgettable and never ending hit song list. We were lucky enough to be treated with a balcony viewing thanks to our concierge and host. Much appreciated and will return.

Kevin Winklepleck

A pretty decent venue for concerts and live shows. Standing room only for the venue I attended, with a few stool seats for "VIP" tickets. Otherwise the acoustics were good and I enjoyed the show. Drinks available at the bar on either side of the stage are a little expensive and premade beforehand, not the typical drink menu from the bar downstairs, so keep that in mind if planning your visit with drinks involved during the show.

Patrick Hibbard

Great venue for an intimate show. I have no problem snatching up tickets to see shows here.

Martha Contreras

iconic place, super friendly staff... the shows are amazing and the sound it’s just super good. A must go when in Chicago

Andrew Humphreys

If Jesus could cook, he'd cook those nachos. You haven't experienced this place until you've had everything on the menu. Music insanely world class. Wow. WOW. WOW

Batool Khan

A beautiful venue with interesting art decorations. It has a gift shop and restaurant.

Sydney Klemeks

Very cool looking place! Funky folk art covering the walls, Blues Brothers memorabilia, gift shop, lots of bars, and great sound throughout the venue. First time here and I thought the place was great. All staff was VERY friendly and kept things in order when the crowd/line got out of hand. Very impressed! Loved it. Saw Miyavi.

Steven Marquez

House of Blues Chicago, enjoyed the jumbalia & an IPA, I like the food so I go

Stephanie Davis

Spazmatics at the House of Blues. Super fun private party. Very large venue and great ambiance.

Stephanie Andresen

We were at the HOB on Saturday and Sunday this weekend and quite honestly, I was blown away. I am in a wheelchair and the entire staff went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and able to have a great seat for the burlesque show on Saturday. The hostess or MC of the show treated us just like we were old friends too. On Sunday, the host at the door was sweet enough to offer me his arm as I attempted to walk/hobble to my table. Thank you all for the great experience. We will be back for sure.

JustinCredibleX

Hands down the most amazing event I've ever attended. Beautiful venue, awesome staff. The perfect end to an amazing weekend.

Caitlyn Smeltzer

This place is amazing. They go above and beyond to make sure their customers are happy and satisfied. Made a side comment about not liking something (personal taste not the food) and they insisted they got us something else!!! Thank you for a great evening before the show!!!

Steven Glass

This venue is very pretty! I had a wonderful time and danced the whole night with the crowd. They served food and drinks the whole night! The only thing I would suggest to others attending events is that the VIP seating isn't worth paying for.

JAMES MUNOZ

IVE SEEN A LOT IT GREAT SHOWS AND AS LOT OF GREAT PERFORMERS NICE BUILDING ON A BEAUTIFUL SETTING AND LOCATION

Dunke Hughes

The floor felt very elastic last night. Either it was structured like that or it will cave soon. Not sure. It caught me off guard.

Emily Rouse

Very cool place. Security gave us a pat down as we came in so I felt safe. The drinks were very expensive. Great sound, good location, good ushers and I had a great time.

Sean Michael

Large amounts of Jalapeno Corn Bread, Blues, beer, and big laughs with my badass wife!

Andrea Alongi

Thank you HoB for giving the opportunity for School of Rock Plainfield to perform at I AM FEST. Was truly a great time and will forever be one of the best memories. These kids have played at many venues and this was the absolute best!!

Devon H

Such history here! As soon as you walk in you can feel the electric energy of the performances of the past that help set the atmosphere for the almost guaranteed awesome show you're about to see. Enjoy!

Seneth P.

Pretty cool, lots of interesting things are inside. I went for a concert, which was also amazing, and got sidetracked looking at all of the diverse art styles. Very cool.

Wentworth Willock

Went to the Sunday Gospel Brunch at House of Blues Chicago and had an incredible time. The food was very good, with lots of choice. Chicken and waffles was my favorite. On the entertainment side the singing and audience engagement were also excellent. I recommend it highly.

Nick

Great venue. Go the vip route with table service. Worth the extra cash

Kenneth Hargis

This was our first visit to the House of Blues for my wife's birthday we were from Dallas visiting Chicago. The entertainment was great the food was perfect definitely suggest others to try. Get as close to the stage as you can worth the wait.

Shawn Cranshaw

There are some very good restaurants, but unfortunately, they are few and far between. People will always make a return visit when they enjoy the dining experience and it is to everyone’s advantage for the restaurant to up its game! Following are some of the qualities or characteristics about this restaurant

J P

Got food in the restaurant before heading to a show upstairs. The margarita flatbread was fantastic! I wish I got home drinks at dinner thought because the prices are definitely higher upstairs. Overall, I always have a nice time at the house of blues.

Anthony Moody

Excellent venue, not to big not to small..I really enjoyed the lyfe Jennings concert 7/13/19

Propht Droid

The Gospel Brunch is absolutely wonderful! I expected the food to be average, like you were mostly paying for the show. To my surprise not only was the food very good, there was also bottomless mimosas and solid customer service! Even my 1 and a half year old seemed to enjoy the experience.

Deborah Morris

Sunday brunch was really nice and the Gospel Choir Oh my God excellent

Benjamin Gusse

The music was great, but their suggested meals weren’t that great. My wife and I shared the voodoo shrimp and it was ok. My wife liked her burger, but my jambalaya was bland and had very little meat. However, we got their pudding cake and it was phenomenally good. So I suggest going there for the music and dessert.

Trooper Long

Great venue for concerts/shows, DJs/dancing. Drinks are a bit pricey. Historic theater with multiple level balconies, lounges and VIP boxes, cool architectural fixtures.

Krys Burnette

Great staff. Great sound from any seat. Balcony seats are tough and mostly standing room. Avoid the 2nd balcony, the view is partly obstructed unless you're seated in VIP.

Jessica Jones

Atmosphere was nice. Food was ok. Waiter was great.

Samjok-o Legacy

Amazing place, great food and the band was awesome. Definitely made a memorable first visit and vacation.

Jesus Narvaez

Metal/Rock concert was amazing. I'm glad I was able to get a decent spot from my view. Definitely a good place to enjoy a show.

Jennifer Mills

Why wouldn't you love this place? It's a museum, resteraunt, and venue all rolled into one. Best shows, great acoustics, extremely helpful and friendly staff.

Kevan

Saw rolling stones cover band. Was absolutely awesome.

Mahima Srivastava

One of the best jazz clubs in Chicago. Went on a Wednesday evening and ended up being there for 3 hours. Their bands were that good. Funky mojo daddy were out of this world. Highly recommend visiting here when in the windy city. It is am experience and a treat to the eyes and ears. Bar has many choices and you can order dinner too.

Tiffany Mitchell

Visited the restaurant on Saturday and our waiter Anthony was amazing.. very attentive, informative, and just and overall awesome guy. He made our experience great. Can’t wait to go back!! The food and band were great as well!

Matt Andruff

Wow we had an amazing experience. They can handle allergies. W(gave them a heads up via open table.) We got a fantastic waiter that new the menu in and out. The chef even came out to double triple check. We worked with him to make a low FODMAP nachos. He whipped up a cheese sauce from scratch that I'm not sure why they don't use all the time. Even after all that my mom allergy food was delicious (brisket tacos). Have the kicken ruby mule too it's awesome!

Michele Ram

I came here alone for dinner and it was still fun

Alvar Orellana Mc Bride

Good place for hangouts with friends while listening good blues

Samantha Martinez

This was a fun place to catch some live music on a weekday. There was no cover before 11 and I was seated rather quickly. Although I only came for dessert, I would definitely come for a cocktail or a beer with dinner as everything on their menu looked great. I ordered the house favorite Bread Pudding. The portion was huge enough that I took it with me and ate it for breakfast the next day. Service was nice, friendly staff and the band playing that night was a lot of fun.

TRACY PARKER

We came here for the Gospel choir buffet brunch on Sunday. Great venue, very old worlde feel about it, lovely staff and the food was insanely good with lots to choose from. The gospel choir were great, however there was so much faffing about getting people on stage and a silly dance competition which took up most of the time that they actually only sang about 4 songs in total. Would've been great otherwise but was disappointed with all the messing about.

Ellie Kang

Great brunch w lots of options and unlimited mimosas and oj w fun, live entertainment. Highly recommended for everyone.

Foofy

Fantastic restaurant and venue. Surprisingly well priced

Mary MacFarland

Fun place! The store had many cool items.

Rachael Prieboy

We went to the Chicago House of Blues for the Sunday Gospel Brunch. It was so much fun! The music was uplifting and crowd pleasing! The food was to die for! The huge buffet lines boasted food from eggs and bacon to jambalaya and peach cobbler. The complimentary mimosas didn't hurt either!

ana maria rozo

Great venue to see live music. The acoustics are on point. Nice experience!! Highly recommend this place!!

Matt Smyly

Well, the food and drink was good and our server, Tori, was very good but we came to Chicago Blues Restaurant to hear live blues music with dinner (hence the 3 stars). There was no music, even though it was on their schedule and promoted by them.

Fred Ingram

Always a good time but get there early to secure a good spot.

Joanne Clifford

Great music, great food.. All American blues.. Perfect place to dine and experience a bit of the Midwest

Andrew M. Travis

One of my FAVORITE things in Chicago! They have everything there! Dining, live music, shows, concerts, gift shop, and check out the Gospel Sunday Brunch. I tried it for the first time and it was amazing! The endless food was SO good and endless and the gospel was amazing. They even brought people on stage!

Melissa Collins

Such intricate details everywhere, absolutely awesome. The comedy show was hilarious. We will be back!

Ailen Sabolcki

Good food and music. Really bad attention. Super disrespectful at the front desk. I took all my group of work (all from different countries) and they put us all really uncomfortable during all night.

Leonard Marshall

A truly unique experience and venue for avid music goers. The history of the building alone is worth the visit. Beautifully designed and great acoustics make for a memorable concert experience. The only drawback is there aren't many seating options available. It's an open floor concept so the only seats are box seats in the balcony and a few bar chairs surrounding the outer edges of the main floor. But that's a minor issue. The food served here is also very good and reasonably priced. Highly recommend attending the House of Blues for a concert!

Shady Lama

Only got to check out the entrance, I guess I arrived to early and they didnt open until 11:30. The entrance is quite impressive, filled with almost every inch with art. Stairways on either side of the restaurant entrance that lead to the Music Hall. Gonna have to drop back by and see the Foundation Room soon.

Allison Tambeaux

Always a great venue to see live music

Christina Butler

I was very disappointed with this venue. I get that it's a smaller venue and a more intimate setting but I paid $50 a ticket and couldn't even see the band I paid to see. My tickets were for the balcony. The balcony had a VIP section with seating and then behind that is where the rest of us got to stand. So in reality my tickets were to stand behind a roped off section. Or you can stand up by the bar. If you stand by the VIP section you have to move every few minutes so the VIP wait staff can take orders and deliver drinks. You can upgrade your ticket but it starts at $100. Meanwhile good seats remained open in higher balconies because of the steep upgrade price. And the place probably hasn't been cleaned since it opened. There was about an inch of dust on the curtains that covered the balconies and the balcony ceilings. This was the first and last time I will be visiting the House of Blues.

Brandie Jones

Excellent food and service! Always a great time when I come in and the concerts are amazing!

Mike Heyse

Superb concert venue. A unique atmosphere and very cozy. Large stage but it's not a large venue so it seems more personal.

Matthew Villareal

Ugh, I wish I could give a higher rating but so many little annoying things add up. First, day of show I call and ask what the seat prices are. I bought 1 on main floor for 125. I had asked if there were some seats on the rail next to the stage. I was told no but when I arrive, there are seats there available. Plus they were selling seats for 75. Why was I charged 50 extra. Plus my seat was NOT on the "main floor" but on the elevated seating area behind the sound/mixer section, not to mention my table is behind another table so my view is really obscured. Also, as far as the restaurant goes the hostess said I could sit at the bar or rail across from the bar and a waiter would come. After 20 minutes and several employees looking right at me, nobody came. I had to go ask for a menu and then after deciding what I wanted, I had to go find another employee to give my order to. Security was nice. The decor is great. The food is average but priced high. The beer is expensive as is at every music venue. I left my credit card with the waiter, I came back 5 minutes after I left and asked an employee about it at the door. He said if I left it, they put it in a safe and I have to get it the next day. I left like 5 minutes before that and the employee would not go check to see if it was in fact locked in the safe till tomorrow. I'll never buy a seat over the phone again, as they are misleading were the seats are and charge extra for them. Tesla was awesome. The pics were taken at the restaurant and some when I was walking around. The last pic was at my seat and you can see the empty table in front that will be full when the people who reserved it show up and the mixer/sound station. Very disappointing and I feel cheated.

Deep Down

Saw THE WHO there in the opera house just before Entwhistle died! Great place.

Andy J

Visited first for a dinner show. Entertainment was excellent! Atmosphere was excellent. Food was okay-there were better restaurants but they didn't offer the show or service. The brunch and gospel show on Sunday was excellent food, service, and the show excelled every expectation. So worth the $40.

tia ayoka

Love this place live music is awesome need more places like this The drinks were a bit high need more deals or something

Erica Santana

Great venue. Staff is wonderful. Live music is great. We had an altercation with a couple of drunk people so they moved us into a private suite and gave us all free drinks. The suite was accompanied with a comfortable couch and several chairs and stools along with a large TV screen showing the event. House of Blues definitely earned 5 stars!

Dan Leunig

Epic venue in Chicago. Near a lot of great dinner options. Lower level is free but drinks are Chicago prices...

Aaron Noll

Server Jake was awesome! Bread pudding was uh-mazing! Blues singing Joanna was very entertaining. Wild mushroom tacos were phenomenal! Cajun Pasta was good, chicken wasn't very "blackened" though. Drinks were great. A little pricey, but great experience!

Lynn Mitchell

Cool atmosphere. Specialty drinks were expensive but you only needed one so not too bad considering. The music was great and with that it’s a little loud (to be expected). We loved it though. Lots to look at. The food was pretty good as well. Service was ok. It was busy and things took awhile. Not unexpected. We would definitely come back!

Jason Hensel

2 drink minimum.... but the bar closed and the server never came. Comedy was great

Tom Bazan

In addition to the concert venue, it's a good place to grab a bite for lunch or dinner. We were there for lunch. It wasn't busy, and the food was delicious. The brisket and pork were tasty. We'll have to be back again, maybe for a concert next time!

Justin Mosley

Great place for a concert. Its tight in there but it's to be expected when there's a large crowd. I'm not sure what all is on the other levels but it's a neat building with...interesting art work.

Gisele Samora

I recomend going to the world’s famous Gospel Brunch! The food was very good! And dont worry , the concert will start after the brunch. So you have around 45min to 1h to eat. Then, prepare for the concert because you will not be able to just sit still. You will want to dance and celebrate !! The house of blues itself is a must go place if you are visiting Chicago! It is absolutely beautiful and the sound is great!

Cynthia Vasquez

Came here with my friend she order the shrimp I ate the jambalaya the worse food I've try no lie it had chicken no flavor at all. I didn't finished the food we felt disgusted after. House of blues it's a nice place, I was really expecting good quality food. Save yourself money and just go another place.

Onisha Otaplive

Please remodel and it so many beautiful details to remember but we need a luxury look for location. Love the shows and staff assistance was okay but it could be better. Professionalism so important for all the sold out events. Please remodel asap

Sonya Sandiego

Place is nice and band playing on Saturday was just ok.

GL Josh

Beautiful location, great food. If you are going to a concert, eat at the restaurant, you might be able to get in sooner. We got to wait inside (grear during a cold Chicago night) and get in before the outside crowd (fantastic for a GA show).

Tiffany Combs

Worst music venue I've ever been too. If you want to actually see the band/group that is playing then do not go to this place. My group and I thought everyone and everything in Chicago was nice and wonderful except this place and these people. Unless you pay $75 extra for VIP you won't be able to see the show. The staff took away our 21+ wristbands just because we went outside to smoke and they THOUGHT we were up to no good. Was not worth any of the money we put into our tickets and travel time from Cleveland. Very disappointed we went out of town for this show. The band that was playing did sound great, however, but if I wanted to just listen to them I can do that at home.

Maria Sweet

We had a great time on our first visit. Nick was our server and he was amazing!!! So, we went back to have the same experience but we did not have the same experience. Nick was not working so we just sat wherever. We ordered the same drinks that we ordered the night before minus the food we had and we were still charged double the amount. We asked to speak to the manager (Stephanie) and she acted as if she didn’t have a clue...We showed her our receipt from the night before but it didn’t matter to her... Poor management skills .... I sure wish things would have been different.

Venue has great atmosphere and personality! Restaurant was good. Definatley recommend skip the line ticket option. Made it super easy and got a great spot for the show. Staff was helpful and a very clean environment.

Really enjoyed the gospel brunch. The choir was really good and the food was fantastic

Had a great time. Was early afternoon. Got to go on stage and set at the drum kit. Usual tourist stuff. Good food. Great service. Unbelievable atmosphere.

Awesome venue. It appears to be an old opera house, with grand architecture and great sound. The entire building is one great fascination, with so much to look at and ponder while waiting for the next act to begin. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked, and even have attendants. Nice sized bar in the back of the auditorium, and a decent selection of booze to drink. The only issues, if you can call them that are the shape of the venue makes it extremely difficult to get around when it's crowded, and they perform physical pat-downs upon each re-entry, which, though I understand is for the necessity of safety, was somewhat off-putting to have to go through multiple times, as I am a smoker, and the only designated smone spot was out and quite a walk away from the venue. It seemed odd to be telling smokers to use their tobacco close to a restaurants outdoor seating are anyway. But beyond that, this was a fantastic venue, and I had a great expierience here.

I was lucky to get an okay view of the show. The balconies are very steep and you can't get a view unless you're right at the rail. Come early if you want to make the most of your ticket

The food is delicious. This is not any old brunch- from an omelet station, and waffle station to the freshly carved roast beef and shrimp. There is also a bottomless mimosa bar, cornbread and a dessert table with amazing bread pudding. But the music is what will keep you coming back. Great voices and great spirited atmosphere - we will be back!

Good staff and security, great location relative to other events. The sound quality and stage production were also way better than expected. I decided on 5 stars for the free icewater, because that was a godsend. Just don't vape in the venue; I saw someone get their juul swiped

Always a great venue. Excellent staff from the door guys to the bartenders. Big name performers with a smaller club feel. Love it

The band we saw was great but the place was small and all the seats were reserved and cost a lot extra. My sister and I were very surprised by how small it was compared to the rave in Milwaukee. The medic was very nice when there was a near fainting incident.

The gumbo was out of this world. The bbq dinner was about the best we have ever had.

A lucky opportunity to experience this place. Never before did I think one could dance to the blues. And oh my did I dance all right!!! An unforgettable night- the musicians, the crowd... It was magical.

A trip to Chicago would never be complete without a trip to the House of Blues. There is the most amazing music here every night and sometimes you have 2 bands at 1 time. The level of talent here is amazing and the drinks are strong. The staff is as nice as it gets and very profesional. Great pictures to be had and a nice gift shop. I will be back every trip to Chicago. I promise that you will not be disappointed.. the atmosphere and decor is off the charts amazing.

I’ve tried on five occasions to contact the venue to see what time DMX actually takes the stage on his upcoming show. The phone system (at all various times of day) is a bunch of press this or press that scenarios and any that involve speaking with someone who may actually answer this one question beeps three times when you press it and then disconnects you over and over and over and.............. Update after emailing them instead of calling they called me within an hour gave me a better number and told me exactly what I needed this I modified to three stars.

Been a few times now and it just seems to get better everytime

The food is actually amazing here - my boyfriend and I went before a show and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of service and the food! Also, if you spend $25 per person in the restaurant you get to skip the general admission line for whatever show you’re going to see. A really awesome perk!

The Great Purple Fishlord

Amazing venue. Amazing food. Great welcome from really pleasant, helpful staff. Fantastic House Band. Couldn't ask for more from a venue.
