When my grandmother passed I didn't know exactly the best way to honor her and to have her celebrated for the woman she was and the impact she had on others. Kahu Alalani worked with me to create the most beautiful ceremony that commemorated her life and celebrated her in the most beautiful way. She focused on my grandmothers life, her spirit and who she was to others. Her words not only touched everyone but moved and inspired people to tap into their own experiences with my grandmother in their lives. Kahu Alalani also supported me in making my vision of what this celebration should look like come to life. From the pictures, to the prayers to the layout of the evening, she helped me organize my hearts intentions during a difficult and chaotic time. Her support was beyond measure. She made this the most beautiful memorial and I am forever grateful.

Kahu Alalani Hill is one of the top ministers in Maui. She has been performing weddings in Hawaii since 1981. Kahu Alalani is an expert in ancient Hawaiian ceremonies. Her Ancient Wedding ceremony includes Hamo (anointing palms with holy oil) and Ope'a (binding) of wrists with sacred cordage to join your two flames as you say your vows. Here ceremony also includes a ceremonial food or drink of Niu (coconut) for fertility or Awa root drink or Kulolo (taro/coconut cake) for ancestors or to join families. She will make a personalized "Sacred Wedding Bundle" filled with 3 blessed objects that you will open and add to each anniversary . The couple is then wrapped in a wedding Kapa (blessed bark cloth) or receives two keepsake Kukui nut bracelets to seal your commitment in light. If you are comong to be married or have any other kind of blessing in Maui, we highly recommend Kahu Alalani Hill.

Mahalo Alalani for our wonderful Ancient Hawaiian Wedding ceremony! We chose to be spritually wed on Maui and looked for a ceremony with a deeper connection - not only to our spiritual beliefs, but also to Maui, since this beautiful island is a special place for us and a place we come back to... We could't have imagined a more beautiful and meaningful way to be married than the Ancient Hawaiian Ceremony. Especially as a non-religious, but spiritual couple it was important to us to find a ceremony that embodies spirit and embraces us! And to find a person we feel comfortable with. Planning the wedding from abroad this was a challenge, but from the first phone conversation on we felt supercomfortable - a feeling that was more than comfirmed after the next Skype Date.
