As a long-time native Hawaiian kamaaina, born and raised on Hawaii Island, I am connected to many Hawaiian Kahu from this aina who mālama their guests and provide true Hawaiian ceremonies. From one of our mainland friends, Id recently heard about Reverand Stefan and his Hawaiian cultural wedding ceremonies. So, I decided to give him a call to inquire about the services he provides. It was 8:39am on a Monday morning when I called his business number listed on his website. The phone was answered in two rings with a grumpy male voice saying "hello". I was taken aback a bit and asked if I was speaking with Reverend Stefan to which replied, "yeah". I continued on to ask if he provided culturally authentic Hawaiian weddings to which he replied with an irritated voice, "yeah"! I asked him if perhaps I should call at another time because he appeared to be annoyed. He told me that it was before 9am and too early. At this time Id asked him why hed answered his business phone if he wasnt prepared to talk........and then he hung up on me. I texted him thereafter letting him know of my displeasure with the way Id been treated. His non-response paints a big picture....shame on him. MORAL OF STORY: I will make sure to spread the truth about this person as the last thing I would want is to have him disrespect our Hawaiian culture by treating people this way, especially unsuspecting visitors who might not know better. I believe that unfortunately, many of the good yelp stories here may be from people who have no idea how a true, loving Hawaiian ceremony should look like. This "Reverend" is not from here, yet he portrays himself as someone that represent Hawaii? From someone born and raised here..........please take this review very seriously and do your due diligence very carefully in order to find someone who will create a good memory for you and your family.

Our 30 year vow renewal was perfect thanks to Rev. Stefan and Tatyana. We left the details up to them ... the perfect beach location near Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort, the beautiful handmade (by Tatyana) leis, and the meaningful ceremony. Even the sunset was made to order!!! When we asked if we could both read our own vows some time during the ceremony - he enthusiastically agreed and seemed genuinely touched by our words to each other. His respect and knowledge of the Hawaiian culture and our christianity was greatly appreciated.

Rev. Stefan and his wife, Tatyana, were absolutely wonderful. The ceremony itself was beautifully crafted and heart-warming, and the lei's made by Tatyana were exquisite! Tatyana did a wonderful job with the photography, as well! We can't thank them enough for all of their kindness and professionalism, and for giving us such amazing memories!!

Rude, unprofessional and come across like they do not like doing business with mainland couples!! I was looking for a quote on our up coming fall wedding. I was trying to acquire the nessesary permit so he sent a link to acquire a permit that was for commercial use that I couldn't submit without information about building structures for the event. We weren't building structures so there was no way to apply for that permit. Instead of directing me to a proper link to apply for the correct permit Stephan was very rude saying and I quote "You cannot come to Hawaii and do what you want without getting permission, there are too many people coming here to these islands with similar ideas". Along with other things that completely had nothing to do with helping me find the nessesary permit. Bad experience they were very unhelpful.

Stefan was extremely helpful and made sure we had all the necessary paperwork done for our wedding. We wanted a small beach wedding for just the two of us. We were thinking we wanted it on the beach in front of Grand Wailea where we were staying. Stefan suggested a much better and more secluded location which worked out perfectly. We had Reverend Richard officiating our ceremony. He did an awesome job. He brought the perfect vibe to the wedding, and made us both feel like the day would be perfect. We were all barefoot on the sand right by the water. The photographer did a great job too. She quoted a 3 week turnaround on having all our pictures edited and ready, but they were ready in less than a week. Tons of beautiful pictures. This was also the best value I found. An almost identical ceremony on the beach arranged by the planners at Grand Wailea would have been almost 15x the cost. It's an easy decision between the two...

Rev Stefan and his wife were so wonderful for our wedding vow renewal!!! Our photos are breath taking!!! The are both so wonderful to work with and the ceremony was so beautiful and loving!! Stefan even helped us select a location for our ceremony as we had not been to Maui before. We would both HIGHLY recommend Stefan and his wife Tatyana for your wedding or vow renewal

Mon conjoint et moi on voulait se marier simplement et nous avons profité d'un voyage à Hawaï pour le faire. On a réservé une semaine à l'avance puisque c'était une décision de dernière minute. On nous a contacté rapidement, on nous a suggéré des plages à proximité. de notre hôtel, le révérant Richard était vraiment gentil et nous a mis rapidement à l'aise, puisque nous ne parlons pas parfaitement l'anglais il parlait lentement et n'a pas hésité à changer des mots lorsque nous ne comprenions pas le sens d'une phrase. We had a fantastic experience with Aloha Fun Weddings! They were super helpful prior to our trip when we were booking from Texas. Then on the day of our wedding, Rev Richard made it an experience neither of us will ever forget. We met at Kapalua Bay and he was amazing! He was so warm, welcoming, kind and happy! We loved him and loved how he chose to conduct the ceremony. Since it was just us two, he spent considerable time getting to know us before we started. He took fantastic pictures of us on our own camera. He then made several awesome recommendations of places to see/things to do/places to eat for the remainder of our trip. The sunset on the beach was breath-taking. I am 100% satisfied!

Stefan sent simply all the information we needed, such as beaches suggestions for the ceremony and details about the leis for example. He also replied our emails always in few minutes and was flexible to changes, including changing the place for the ceremony less than one week before the date. Completely stress free! For the ceremony we had Rev. Richard. Excellent! He was there before the time, helped us to choose the best location at the beach, took some beautiful pictures, was always happy, smiling, patient... After honeymooning on Maui and The Big Island 15 1/2 yrs ago, we made it back to these two islands...with our 3 daughters. Since we knew what a special vacation this would be, and the fact that we still love each other very much, we decided to do a vow renewal on Maui. I found Aloha Fun Weddings online through a search, and picked them because of the positive reviews. Since many other couples plan these events far away from Hawaii, sometimes that’s all you can base it on. Well, we were very happy with our experience from start to finish and I figured it’s best to give another great review to help other couples narrow down their choice. Any questions I had were answered very quickly via email. I was given some options of beach locations and after researching these spots, we went with Kapalua Bay and were not disappointed! Relatively small, but beautiful beach that wasn’t too crowded at the time of our vow renewal on 7/1/18 at 6:30pm. Sea turtles even made an appearance in the water, so much so that it was distracting my 6 year old (in a very cute way)! We even went back there the next day to snorkel and loved it! Anyway, Rev. Richard was our minister and he was a PLEASURE to work with! Very friendly yet professional and loves what he does! We went with the package that included the professional photographer and included 40 free images. Rachel was our photographer from Maui Professional Photography and was amazing! She captured so many gorgeous shots of all of us (other family was present as well). Yes, I want more than just my 40 free images but they make it affordable to receive all of the images on CD or download to print yourself and share online. Worth every penny to us, to pay for the professional photographer and the additional images. How often does one renew their vows in stunning Hawaii, with the ones you love?! May never happen again for us, so we can’t wait to have these beautiful photos in an album and on display in our home. MAHALO, Aloha Fun Weddings, Rev. Richard, and Maui Professional Photography!!

We had a very private beach wedding, the price was great the beach was amazing and Stefan and his family impressed us in every way. The lei's and bouquet were so beautifully handcrafted, we loved the sand ceremony and we were honored to have been able to have a Hawaiian wedding.

I would highly recommend their services ! My husband and I did not get the chance to exchange wedding bands at our wedding( small intimate last minute ceremony )and used this trip as a way to do so on the beach ! Rev Stefan was very helpful in answering all questions our leis and my wedding bouquet were beautiful Rev Richard was a pleasure and the ceremony was beautiful and unforgettable ( my husband may have almost cried lol) we ended up moving the ceremony to a different location due to the rain and even though there were more weddings happening and quite a bit of people on the beach it felt as if in the moment it was all about us ! Rev Richard was kind enough to take pictures afterwards and even told us how to pose he was great I would book him again and again for all my vow renewals !

I was genuinely grateful to find and work with Aloha Fun Weddings. We wanted to have a small ceremony to get married while in Maui and most of the folks I contacted were only interested in helping us plan a larger wedding. Reverend Leiste was outstanding. He knew a perfect spot to have our ceremony and helped us with every detail, including great advice on the process for obtaining the Hawaii marriage license. Happy to report we were married on Sep 3rd at Kapalua Bay beach and it was absolutely perfect. From the location selection, to the officiant (Rev. Carrll), photographer (Rojeena) and our wonderful ukulele player (Mika, who managed to sneak in the theme song from Star Wars….awesome!), everyone involved was amazing and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Our experience with Rev. Stefan at Aloha Fun Weddings was fantastic! My wife and I wanted to renew our wedding vows in Kailua Kona on the Big Island and we were so glad we chose Stefan. All communication (email, phone) was direct, helpful and timely and the cost was quite reasonable. We were actually in Kona to celebrate our son and his fiancé's wedding and chose to renew our vows the week before their wedding with them in attendance at our ceremony on a secluded, lovely beach just around sunset. The simple ceremony was meaningful and memorable and included leis, blowing of the conch and a Hawaiian certificate of our vow renewal. Stefan, his wife, Tatyana and daughter Leilani were warm, personable and friendly. We would highly recommend Rev. Stefan at Aloha Fun Weddings for the BEST overall experience!! Aloha fun weddings were absolutely amazing from beginning to end. I got great customer service when I was emailing trying to plan what would be best for us. Our minister Carll was so personal and had a a very easy going personality that made me feel comfortable. The ceremony itself was perfect for me. Not too much or too little, with substance. We were renewing our vows at 10 years. Our photographer Ian was amazing as well!!! I absolutely loved the pictures he took . He is a true artist .
