Went for a family wedding. Very nice folks running the place, super helpful. New all around, great fireplaces if needed. Multiple levels and porches with excellent views of the Delaware city waterways. Ample parking, we had about 80 peeps and fit in easy. Everyone had good things to say.

Beautiful venue for a wedding! Inside the barn are three floors including a kitchen, ping pong table, “bridal suite”, 5 bathrooms, and a very nice reception area! Outside has gorgeous views and a nice breeze off of the water!

We hosted our Union Hospital Blue Jean Ball at the barn and it was a great night! Mike and Sue are easy to work with and Don was onsite all night helping with whatever we asked. Our guests loved the place--from the man cave to the main floor up to the third floor loft. Thanks!

The bar manager/consultant, PJ, put our minds at ease months before the wedding and helped us save a ton on the alcohol costs. Pauly and Krista did a fantastic job bartending making sure our guests were totally happy. A+ experience.

Had an awesome experience at this venue, who knew you could find a gem like this in Delaware! Very affordable thanks to PJ's bartending service who really worked with us to save some money while still getting a great experience. The bartender on sight was a class act as well!

I attended a wedding here a few weeks ago. The farm and venue were absolutely breathtaking. Along with the unique location. After talking to my friends and family we agreed it was the best wedding we've ever attended. If anyone is still looking for a wedding venue i would highly recommend Thousand Acre Farms.

my nephew got married there, they had the venue until 11pm, they started mopping the dance floor at 9 around the guests that were dancing. The manager told my other nephew to turn the music off and get your people the f*** out of here at 9 for no reason at all. The venue is beautiful, but the management and owners absolutely have no people skills. I would NEVER recommend this place to any one.

I attended a beautiful wedding here last weekend. It was the perfect location ever. The wedding location has beautiful views and great landscaping. It is picture perfect. Organization was great. Everything was so nice. Omg and the guest housefor the couple is clean all wood finished houses that's fits up to 180 guest. I had a great experience visiting the thousand acre farm

Was going to have my wedding at Thousand Acre but since then has been called off. I should have seen signs from the beginning. Husband and wife team and all they see is $$$. No customer service at all wife pushes everything to husband and he does not return phone calls. Brides beware check your contract, dot your I’s and cross your t’s. Would not recommend this venue although it is very pretty, not with the aggravation and dealing with the owners who do not know how to run a business.

This was the first and only venue we looked at. We knew right away we wanted to get married here. My day of coordinator Lisa was so amazing and on point and I can honestly say bc of her my wedding was everything I wanted and more. People always told me “something will happen that you didn’t plan for but it’ll be fine, don’t stress” well let me tell you, my wedding happened exactly how I planned and pictured it. Right on the water and the barn is gorgeous. The owners Sue and Mike are awesome too. I had the best night of my life last night so just want to say thank you to Lisa Sue and Mike. I definitely recommend this venue!

We booked this venue the day we saw it, stunning views and just the perfect venue for us. As we crunched numbers and contacted catering vendors (which you must choose from their list) it was turning out that we were spending way more than we budgeted for. Because the venue is 'a la carte' every cost is separate and it adds up to be so expensive (we were only having 100 guests). We also had to pay $900 for a beverage package (cups, ice, and sodas) and also supply all beer and wine. Which is just a ridiculous price to pay if you are trying to save money on alcohol by only offering wine and beer. The space inside for a ceremony was SO cramped and the manager said there was no way to create and aisle, we had to have guests sit at their table instead and that was not a 'true wedding' feel. We decided to forgo our deposit and choose a stunning country club that literally includes everything! Thousand Acres was a very gorgeous venue, don't get me wrong. But there are so many vendors and details to pay for, it does not end up being cheaper in the least. We are saving almost $6k by switching to another venue.

Now that its been a few months from my wedding, I can give a detailed description about my wedding at thousand acre. (bear with me, for this is very long) First off, it is a BEAUTIFUL venue. We knew that we wanted to marry here as soon as we saw it. The problems started once our wedding coordinator quit. (who is required through the venue) We met her numerous times, set up plans, gave visions etc. and she was perfect! However, it wasn't until we got an email a few months before our wedding that she had up and quit. We were upset that all our planning with her was gone, and that we would have to start fresh. I waited about a week for another planner to get in touch with me, and none of them did. So I had reached out- and one of the planners said they were going to divide up the weddings and so on... So we finally get the email of our coordinator ( which they must have not been too organized, because she asked us to pay her, when we had already submitted our payment) she was terrible via messaging. I would ask questions and it would be" don't worry we will go over it" or "ill show you at the final meeting" So I got very nervous, never meeting this lady or having a discussion with her at all and my wedding being only two months away. We finally met at our vendor meeting (the only time we met) and we went over what we wanted, set up a table so she knew how we wanted to set up etc. So fast forward to the day- First off, she had no idea how to set up any of the decor. My mother in law set up the decor and tables (of course my team and myself helped) "because she didnt know what we wanted" Being as though we only met her once, it was understandable, so we knew to help out. Things got worse after the ceremony. she was supposed to do first dance then, dinner and speeches during dinner- well she prompted the speeches first. After, catering started to call tables. well problem was, my lasts guests to be served waited an hour to eat, and everyone was bored and sat around. We were supposed to play a "shoe questions game" but when we got up to look for her to move things along, she was no where to be found! So my hubby went to the DJ and asked to start up some music (at this point we've been sitting for about an hour and a half) So music was playing and we were hoping to get the cake cut to break up the silence and start the party (still the coordinator was no where to be found) so we asked the caterer to cut the cake. (and since they had no direction, they ended up serving our top portion of the cake, that we wanted to keep for our anniversary) I was livid we were coordinating our wedding when we paid so much money for someone else to do it. I went up stairs to change in to my second dress, and she was going through all of our belongings! My bags were opened, along with my bridesmaids and she was literally, hands deep in our bags. She told me she was "cleaning" because a lot of people forget there stuff. (not to mention she put my phone and shoes and other belongings in other peoples bags so I went home with out it) She also was arguing with my guests who were upstairs on the balcony about smoking- and she had told us there was a cleaning fee for smoking in non designated areas. So the owner ended up coming to the venue, and it was a whole ordeal. It was messy and embarrassing and I was so upset I had to leave my wedding to tend to this because of this coordinator. I feel like I missed out on half my wedding because of the structure, and the drama. If it wasn't for the fact I married my best friend, and that made my day, I probably would have asked for a refund.

All I can say is GREED GREED GREED!! Unbelievable that they have chairs on site and charge for them...barrels on site and charge for them! On top of the outrageous price they are already charging. Brides to be please note... if you are booking your wedding be prepared to pay an extra $100 for an additional hour. They DO NOT build in your clean up and get out hour. Meaning, you are forced to end your reception early to clean up and get out.

Fantastic venue and location, however their inhouse event coordinator couldn't have been more incompetent. First she mistook someone else for the bride (best to assume the only one in white is the bride). She had no flow or organization to the procession of the wedding. Thankfully we had one of the best officiants and MCs in the business pull us out of this mess.
