Ek poeta de los Sandwich *was good, -service was terrible i ate my food and my frappe never came. I had to stand in the front counter and they were upset about it bc after one hour my frappe was not ready. Horrible service dont recommend it

Very fancy event space with a beautiful, 2 level main room. Upstairs there is a balcony all around so you can see the dance floor and there is additional seating for large parties. Food was good, too. Our waitress could have had more energy and a more cheerful attitude - it felt like this was job to her, and nothing else. Parking was in a public parking lot attached to the building, and was over $20. That is where they lost a star. The parking lot is mostly empty -The Society Room should validate parking. I know that would add cost to the host, but that price is a bit still for Hartford.

A really amazing hidden gem of a banquet hall. Originally a bank, it retains a lot of those nostalgic traits, making it a really unique and eloquent experience.

I had my wedding here in August 2017 and could not of asked for a better overall experience! I lived in both NC and Florida during the planning process, but Melissa was incredibly helpful through the entire year of planning and made this a non-stressful planning experience for my husband and I. The day of the wedding went so smoothly and the staff was incredibly professional and friendly. The venue is incredibly gorgeous and doesn't need many extra decorations, however we decided to do a lot with the decor and everything was set up exactly how we asked. My husband and I were so happy!

My cousin had her wedding reception here and it was incredible. Gorgeous décor and excellent food and drinks. The staff was friendly and helpful with anything we needed. One thing that really stood out to me was the serving size of the meals. Some of the venues in this area serve ridiculously huge portions of food and this place kept it to a reasonable amount of food like a normal sized filet mignon not a football sized hunk of beef that if you eat the whole thing you wouldn't be able to move never mind dance. Live this place.

Beautiful, unique facility on a quaint street downtown Hartford. I've been to a couple of events here and the cocktail hour is always well done. The main courses, however, are very underwhelming for the reputation.

I am so thrilled to write this review of The Society Room of Hartford. I have had many clients grace their facility over the years - we have sold wedding dresses for weddings there, have done invitations and custom favors for events held at the Society Room - they are top notch - first class. The venue is absolutely exquisite and very unique to others around. The food is incredibly good and everything about your event will be handled to a T. We also do a show with them for their couples once a year. Again - a fabulous place to have your wedding or corporate or special event - you will not be sorry!!!

Recently visited this venue for a wedding. Beautiful interior, but staff was less than helpful, it is not overly accessible for both wheelchairs and strollers and bathrooms did not have a baby change table.

I was here on Saturday, August 27, 2016. The worst service. The manager is outful rude and does not care about customer service at all. And the food was not all that. Plus they dont validate the parking. For the cost and what you get out of it, this place is not worth it at all. The manager got to get herself checked properly or replaced with someone more professional.

My son had his wedding recently,the interior and ambiance is beautiful and nice for pictures,however the food and service are not worth to their astronomical prices that they charge.First they don't offer perking.My chair that I was sitting and my sisters were shaking.They didn't had a bottle of white wine and red wine on the tables.They had a server going from table to table to fill up the glasses.I had to wait for more than ten minutes to fill my glass with wine.We had a Greek table but their food was a disaster.Their chef didn't even know how to make shish kebab? Their seafood raw bar was another story.Usually the oysters and clams are disconnected from their shells to be more easily eaten,but theirs wasn't it.They placed small dishes so you could't get more than two or three oysters or clams.Their main dish fillet mignon was only five ounces and for dessert they gave mini donuts.Their price was $180 dollars per person????

I've been here for corporate events. The venue is fine. Certainly large enough for large groups. A bit overwhelming for small ones. Parking can be an issue because you have a split second to turn left after the light on main to get to the lot. If you miss that turn it will take a while to get back because it's all one way streets.

They Deserve the stars but im only rating one of their manager named Cecilia...shes a mean woman...like really mean...its a great venue...I was a vendor (DJ) for a wedding there dec 2nd 2017 and I always get along with peeps but she was really mean...in the hospitality business ppl are suppose to smile and in the end we are all there to make it happen for the clients...

My wife and I got married at the Society Room in early December and couldn't be happier with the entire experience. The venue speaks for itself - absolutely stunning! - but the staff brings it to another level. We had exceptional service from the initial inquiry up through the end of our event. We've received many compliments from our guests on the venue (ambiance, food, etc.). Highly recommended!!

Beautiful venue. The only thing we did not like was the food and service! It was fairly cold and when we asked the server for assistance in warming it up or possibly finding another dish that we could eat she replied to us, " I can't help you at this moment, maybe next time you come you can order what you will actually eat." Mind you we ordered chicken that had a very bitter sauce with a rubbery cheese. The plate was awful. Our entire table was shocked and just stopped talking with her. We did not report it because we did not want to ruin the bride's experience but it was definitely not a pleasant staff working that night. Just wanted to mention it so if anyone is looking to plan an event here that it is a beautiful place but make sure your staff is pleasant and not ruining the night with their poor attitudes. I have been in their place before and know it is tough but it is still no reason to act that way with guests.

Went to a wedding here on New Year's Eve. What a great venue!! The place is gorgeous! The food was delicious! They had a baked potato bar that was awesome! Salmon was delicious. Food was hot. The servers were awesome! They were on top of everything. Food was being replaced quickly. It was a buffet. Bartenders were ok. The drinks were very weak. I'm not a drinker. In fact, I drink very rarely. I just don't like the taste of most alcohol. I usually have to ask for my drink to be weak. I really couldn't taste the alcohol in my drinks. Not a big problem for me but may be disappointing to others. I would highly recommend having a wedding here. It's just a beautiful place.

The atmosphere was very nice and the hors d'oeuvres' were really good. As far as the main course goes,it was nothing really special. For the price you pay per person($$$), the portions could have been bigger. It was just a typical wedding meal. Unfortunately,these days, you're paying for the location and not the meal. Overall it was a nice venue for a wedding!
