This Event Planner belongs to the category of Convention center.
This convention center is centrally located and easy to get to off the freeway. They host a lot of great events throughout the year. The only thing I dislike is that you have to pay for parking. I mean, I get it; they need to make money. But if I'm already going to spend money to attend a convention, shouldn't parking be included? Aside from that gripe, this place is good. It's always kept clean and there are places to eat nearby so you don't have to overpay for a meal.
The contractor Nation convention was held here. I had an absolute blast there. The food was great. And the space for the classes and entertainment were spacious.
Enjoy going there for events especially the NE Hunting and Fishing Expo.
The convention center was amazing. Great location and facilities. Staff were accommodating as well
Took GrandSons to See Minecraft
Great staff !
Enjoy attending events here. Especially Connecticon. Set up well for breakouts, not too cold as some conferences get. Air conditioning monitored and stable.
I attended the Hartford Flower show on the 21st of February at the Ct. Convention Center. There was ample parking, easy ticket purchase, and easy departure from the garage. I have not experienced any other event there.
Clean, large area. Always liked Convention Center. Parking super easy across the street in the garage. Several area restaurants to eat at after.
Went for the Stitches United Event and the facility was clean and well organized. Water provided in each classroom was amazing and considerate. There was also a golf expo and there was no confusion between the two events. I didn't use the restrooms in the main facility near the food after my mom came out and told me that there were air fresheners in each stall when she stood up. As an asthmatic I didn't want to risk it and just used the faculties up stairs which didn't have the function or the hotels next door.
A solid space for any convention. Lots of events happening throughout the summer, & many opportunities to volunteer and get in with the behind the scenes action.
Vast venue, adjacent to a hotel, many local eateries to indulge your gastronomical palette.
Went to the boat show here. Parking is connected rite to the Center, so if its raining, you stay dry
It's a beautiful convention center, a very unique design. Bathrooms were kept "stocked" and clean. Nice selection of food and snacks. Definitely hope to come back next year!
Staff is always friendly and helpful, and the building is always clean. The area is in a realatively safer part of Hartford and is attached to the Marriott which makes it a perfect convention center for those from out of town to visit.
Excellent customer service!
Great convention center for events
Awesome service and location. The food is excellent and the building is like brand new. The staff pays attention to EVERY detail. Just an awesome experience!!!
Beautiful venue and great location to walk.
Small but nice and new with ample parking at reasonable prices.
My daughter finally got her first tattoo at Tommy's Tattoo Convention!!
This is a great convention center. I have attended ConnectiCon here for several years. There are a good variety of room sizes to accommodate both large events and small panels. There are also plenty of doors at both the lower and middle floor to allow for easy access. (ConnectiCon frustratingly doesn't utilize all of these doors, leading to accessibility issues, but that's not the convention center's fault.) The only thing I dislike about the convention center is the lack of good free WiFi for guests.
Came here for the national symposium and it was the experience of a lifetime. The desserts were very rich and I ate gold for the first time ever.
Great place for a volleyball tournament. There are men's and women's bathrooms on every back corner and on side walls. The concessions are very convenient and the selection of food is good.
Great venue for medium to large conferences and expos. Flexible space and large parking garage convenient to I-91 snd I-84 in Hartford.
We went to the flower and garden show. A perfect time of the year to bring us up from the long drab winter. The space is large, we went on Friday, I have also been to the camper show on the weekend when it was a bit too hot and crowded. The displays were gorgeous! My only wish was that they had more plants for sale, seeds from exotic plants already started and ready to go. I would go back for other shows, however if possible it would be on a weekday
Attended the latest Tommy's Tat Convention. Has grown from the first one in 2012 into a large convention with close to 200 artists booths. Well worth the $20 a day ticket price. Clean and safe place to bring kiddos with you....
I attended the Connecticut Convention Center for Hartford National College Fair. It was my second time attending. There were over 300 colleges there. I served as a financial aid educational counselor answering questions at the booth where there were other college support advisors from different organizations. The Connecticut Convention Center was extremely accommodating. I had no problems parking or trying to figure out where the event was happening. Everything was laid out very clearly. The registration process was extremely smooth. They were people that would come to me first and asked me if I needed help and would show me/walk me to where my booth was in the event area. They offered refreshments, Wifi access, and asked if there was anything else we needed as some were doing presentations and workshops and may have needed extra things like computer access or use of a projector, etc. A person even came around and gave me a validated parking ticket so I'd be able to leave the event with no problems because parking was free as I was a volunteer for the event. But that showed extra care and effort passing out validated tickets because I could imagine, some people rushing and packing up everything for their college tables and may have forgotten to grab their parking ticket out of their car. No complaints at all! A+ all the way.
Nice design overall including a couple of different levels. Nice hotel connected to the Convention Center. Hotel had a nice bar on the main level. I only had drinks so I can't comment about the food. The parking was a bit high so I would try to find coupons online.
Camping show had no teardrop campers and no cooler/refrigerators. Lots of big campers.
Spacious, clean, good lighting and sound system. Could use more in house food service choices for events and definitely needs another coffee shop or two. Parking is very close but expensive.
Went for the RV camper show. Charged 12 bucks to get in then charged $7 to park.
The Flower and Garden Show was wonderful!
Bathrooms were immaculate & staff really helpful. I do facilities management full time and I was impressed by all aspects of the site.
Beautiful inside. I had a lot of good times here at The Women's Expos with all the different exhibits, such as crafts, jewelry, makeup, and fashion shows!
I went to the flower show. It was set up nicely with many vendors and several gardens displayed for ideas.
Really nice venue with lots of nearby amenities.
Was here as a tattoo artist for the Tommy's tattoo convention and it's an awesome setup. Would reccomend to anyone and everyone who is into tattoos, piercings, or art in general.
Home show was helpful to get a contractor
Great place for a convention. Parking is a bit much though.
Bridal expo was good. Could have had more vendors but nice mixture of options.
Gorgeous facility! So lucky to have a FedEx shipping center right in the building. As an exhibitor, this was a life saver.
Always worth the trip. Prices usually not too bad
Barber expo. Great place for events
Plenty of parking, lots of convention space, easy to get to and from local places, and plenty of restraunts and entertainment nearby! Oh, and did I mention great views of the CT river?
Huge place, conveniently located with a few bars and restaurants located close by. Nice rooms in the attached hotel.
Dont go on the anima fan photo face book there jurks there but i had a good but ok time there was a issue when buying tickets buy them not all bat ones like 1 acount buy 4 pass u gota have 4 acounts or ur have a big issue come ur event
Fun
I've always enjoyed attending CTcon and seeing all the cosplayers, but after experiencing other cons, I will say it can be very bland at times and not worth the price. My suggestion is to bring more vendors, invite guests that people want to see (like voice actors from popular shows), and possibly consider inviting J Artists to perform at the XL center like how Anime Expo does. Then I'll understand why the price is so high but until then, I was fairly underwhelmed by what CTcon 2019 had to offer.
Nice spacious but needs more access to dopd onsite. Kiosks are limited.
Great place employees are nice and great place to host your events
Go when there is less kids. Usually avoid weekends, school vacations and the 2 wks before end of school years because that's when the school have field trips.
Great place for graduations and events
Facilities are nice, but the convention center clearly doesn’t talk to any nearby businesses. Came here over a holiday and none of the sit-down restaurants were open for dinner. This isn’t the vibe I’d encourage for a convention center trying to bring economic development to its city.
The convention center was clean, easily accessible, and overall I had a great experience. I did find the staff that supported the lunch sessions during the conference I attended, to be very rude and generally unhappy. That was unfortunate. They spent most of their time guarding the beverages to be sure each person only took one (which I completely understand, as I have hosted events before and that is a huge hosting cost), but they never smiled or greeted you. If I said hello, they essentially just glared, or maybe gave me a head nod. Of the hundreds of conferences I have attended, it is also at least tied, if not the winner, for the coldest event room I have ever been in. Definitely bring layers! I was so frozen by the time I got back to my hotel room each night, that I could not get the shower water warm enough, to thaw myself out. I cranked it up as hot as it would go, and literally stood under the water for 10 minutes, just trying to stop shivering. Everything went pretty smoothly overall, and I enjoyed the conference.
Nice venue, a bit concrete-ish, but what convention site isn't. Staff is friendly.
I'd lie to say I didn't wish it was the home of the Patriots and Hartford's 6 super bowls...... but don't let that detract from the venue, very nice, is starting to show it's age a bit indoors, interior feels a little dated but its still a very nice functional convention space
Great place for an association annual meeting! Great food and facilities.
Gorgeous venue overlooking the CT river. Surrounding area has many activities, walkway to the Riverfront Recapture amphitheater and beautiful Boat House which is available for events. CT Science Center next door, theater across the street, delicious food. The staff here is amazing and the convention center is pristine. Wonderful.
Will return. Depending on event.
Staff can be rude at times, but not a bad place. Snack bar was reasonably priced, that is a huge bonus.
Nice experience. No sales people to avoid. Looked at many brands and listened to other customers opinions of their own vehicles. Still not sure what get
I just love that it is a large venue for events like ConnectiCon.
I was there for Stitches East festive and had dinner, which was exquisite.
Mine craft event
Very spacious to hole different events at the same time
Went to a convention bought a lot of stuff I didn't like go to much of the area but it looks really nice. Got them nice rugs LOL.
We went here to attend retro World Expo, a retro video gaming convention... What a great crowd with awesome prevent presenters and loads of vendors as well. It was a great time meeting many of the YouTube personalities like the game Chasers Pat the NES nerd as well as the gaming historian... Only complaints Wise food was only sell, so, and fairly expensive... But that is to be expected at a large Conference Center!
For three minutes inside their parking lot I was charged 3.45 ... come on now that push people away CCC
Attended a convention at this location, and while the convention itself was not very good I was still impressed by the scale of the convention hall. This location is rather big, and had quite a few levels. During the time of my convention there were 2 other smaller conventions also being held in the same building. This location is very easy to get too right off of Interstate 91, and has plenty of parking on location which was very affordable. Did not get a chance to explore the area around the convention hall, but as you are in downtown I would assume there are plenty of off site eating locations if you are attending a multi day convention.
Nice place to work
Went to my granddaughters cheerleading competition. Not much to say about center. Big and pretty easy to get around.
Expensive parking. Nice facility.
Great location and great staff. Huge place.
Great venue for events!
A beautiful facility, with even more beautiful folks working there. Every employee I encountered/interacted with was amazing! Excellence with a personal touch. Facilities were amazingly clean, easy to navigate, etc. And the best part of it all-Connecticut convention center has lunch discounts with food providers in the area-just snap a selfie of yourself in front of the "Welcome to Hartford" sign....
Nice, big space. The little concession stand has really good food. Bathrooms have plenty of stalls, and are very clean!
Large place, very clean, easy parking.
Great Home Show.
I attended a convention for work here over the weekend. It was a very nice facility overall and the fact that the Marriott is located right across the way was a great benefit. The only down side though was the fact that you had to go all the way up to the top floor of you needed the bathroom.
Seems nice, went to the Jurassic Quest. Pretty long walk from parking garage.
Great space for all types of events. Mainly go for Connecticon and every year it gets better and better.
Great venue, lots of parking, amazing for events
Massive venue; Gr8 food; need a better sound system
Great place! Great location
Very nice large venue for big events.
Love the Flower Show! We go every year. Worth the trip.
Had a great experience at the biggest barber expo there
Very nice and clean. Large restrooms with great soap. Very nice lobby area. Bars and restaurants and hotels are on site. Security is very nice and family-friendly.
Awesome place in the heart of Hartford
Great place to host your events. Great look and feel to the center. Parking is a little tight, and there is a bit of a walk involved, but 8 stories of parking is available and connected to the convention center. Winter months, I would suggest dropping your companion off at the door. It's cold out there.
Love working with these people each year
Very clean staff very helpful
Appears to be a fairly new facility. The staff have been very friendly and responsive. The food at every meal and snack time was WONDERFUL! I could not recommend this center more for your next event.
I go here each year for Connecticon. The convention is great, check it out if you're into anime and cartoon stuff. The convention center is easy to get to from the highway, in fact you can see it from the highway. There is a large parking garage and they set up the event so right from there you get guided in and given your badge. Once inside, the convention center is easy to navigate with elevators and escalators to each floor. The Halls are carpeted so if you need to sit for a minute against the wall, it's not terribly uncomfortable. The main floor with the high ceiling, used for the dealer room at Connecticon is well lit and has its own food station. The room above is used for the masquerade and performances with its built in speakers and theater-like style. There's also a way outside and across the highway to bring you to a large collection of food trucks. My favorite is the pizza truck that sells onion, bacon, mashed potato pizza. Overall, a very nice experience every year and I'll definitely be back next year.
This incredible place provides enjoyment and adventure for those from 5 to 85 years old. You can see science experience science and dig your fingers into science in a way that no other place that I've seen has. A must see if you are in Connecticut for family business or just passing through :-)
Nice space for events, unfortunately the one we attended wasn't that great. Not the center's fault though. Lots of parking and escalators everywhere
Dinosaur exhibit was amazing!
Large facility very well situated around supplemental services (restaurants, copy & mailing services, clothiers)
While my opinion may be bias due to the quality of the conventions I have attended here, I highly recommend the Convention center. Clean, comfortable, and spacious.
Parking and entering is a nightmare. Handicapped people are warned not to even attempt it. Most events have high admission because of the money they have to pay to use the space. Go elsewhere or use the Internet.
If you're a UCONN student it's legit cheaper to park on the street. The parking "deal" is a rip off. Not to mention this parking garage polices their parking spots like Nazis.
Very nice building for big exhibitions. Can't say anything for the parking garage. They should have got someone that designed the casino parking garages at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.
Parking can be tight for multiple events... attended a gala in the ballroom... staff is great...food is ok...venue is perfect for a large crowd
Great place to bring the family and have a great time
Awesome show this year
My favorite con that comes to here is the car show/ convention.
Very nice store as well helpful associates.
I attended the North American Handmade Bike Show at the convention center, it was well laid out, it had everything you could want and the staff was very nice. It made for an enjoyable event. Good job everyone.
so much fun! will come here again!
Go here every year for CTCon. It's spacious with many rooms for events and panels. The only thing that could be different is the food inside. It's usually hit ot miss with quality.
Parking in the garage is confusing need better signage for customers to get in and out of garage and into convention center. but loading and un-loading for booth is helpful with whole wall that opens up. Set up well organized.
Great catering staff and wonderful accommodations!
Very big and full of things to peak your interest
Between work and weekend cons, I spend a lot of time at different convention centers, and the Connecticut conversation center is one of the worst. This is mainly due to the staff and management, who clearly are not there to help attendees, but instead act like security barrating threatening attendees over trivial rules (like standing in the middle of a hallway) while offering no help to those who need. In one case the convention center staff barged in on a panel and took ome of the tables the panel was using, insisting that it wasn't supposed to be in that room. They didn't need the table for anything they just carted it off to storage. The architecture of the place looks nice, but it's impractical, leading to major bottlenecks at the escalators and a confusing maze of which exits you can actually use. All of my experiences at the Connecticut conversation center have been poor, and whould not recommend it as a venue.
Cool convention center with plenty of restuarants around it.
finding the place from the outside is a little confusing even though there really are signs all over directing you there. The staff for very welcoming and he signs inside we're great. The facilityitself is nice and well-maintained. I was there for an event thrown by another company so I cannot judge the event for the convention center. However the convention centers property include the restrooms and for that I will say every time there was a bathroom run the bathrooms were clean, good smelling, stocked and fresh-looking. It's a rather large place but was not overwhelming. Parking is a bit crazyand the attendants are not that friendly but I think LAZ is a company out of the convention center not their staff directly.
Its was ok
Very nice flower spring show! Boughth too much! Lol
Fabulous location, building, parking, plus good food. It needed a bit more variety but good quality all around. My function was in the ballrooms which were beautiful. Bathrooms immaculate.
Attended a corporate gathering here. I never expect the food to be very good at those things, especially when there are ~500 people. But the catering was actually quite good! The catering staff was very friendly and helpful. The room didn't get stuffy even after 10 hours.
Excellent customer service, intuitive layout of the grounds, the website provides a 360° tour of the facilities which is helpful; the staff keeps it meticulously clean. The food provided at the event was delicious and the staff ensured our needs were met regarding what we needed at the summit we attended.
Very nice to watch events parking was reasonable.kind of confusing to get back to car in garage but figured it out.
The conference center had plenty of space for our conference, was laid out well, and the food was excellent! My only complaint is that I would have loved a coffee shop. The coffee provided was good, but i prefer iced coffee. Other than that my experience was wonderful.
Nice space for retro world expo this year with good sized panel rooms. I was able to bring in an empty water bottle to refill as well. The only downer was the limited seating in the cafe, though they didn't seem to be restricting anyone from bringing food onto the expo floor.
One of the cleanest convention centers
ConnectiCon. Need I say more. That poor place gets turned upside down but they are very good about the big crowd of creativity that comes through there for the long weekend every July. I give them credit
Some good events here. My only complaint is a lot of the events are cash only for tickets.
Awesome facility. Very clean. Nice space. Tons of bathrooms!
Wonderful place. Clean and well kept. Even the bathrooms were nice. Food was also good.
You have to pay for parking, the only downer. Staff was friendly and everywhere to answer questions and guide you. The garden and flower show was so beautiful. I just wanted to live in the displays. Prices where a bit high. Lots of food to be had.
Always have great events
Nice venue airfreshner in the toilet paper holders in each bathroom stall...thought that was neat
Spacious convention center for very many events and happenings. Such as college fairs business conventions or even large groups looking for an event space. However, the security and staff at the Connecticut Convention Center are very rude, not personable or helpful at all. Interactions with staff and security may be volatile, proceed with caution when attending an event here, however most events are in good taste and feel great at the CCC.
Hot tub expo
I went to the travel show and had a good experience. It's easy to find and is right off the highway. Parking is right next door. The place is clean and well labeled.
Grandson enjoyed.
The World Retro Expo that was hosted there was an incredible event. The staff were friendly and the site itself was very well maintained and clean.
Over priced and over cooked food. Small sodas and very high priced. While it's nice that we have it, I wouldn't eat or drink there again.
Can't wait to go again!!
Security was diligent walking up and down the isles but can't say anything positive about the lack of control of the isles in regards to keeping them free and clear of people. The security guard had to wait and push through the group of people and never said a thing. Kinda sad really. Lovely facility otherwise.
Nice place to discuss and meet with others
Centrally Located... HUGE Halls... Adjustable Rooms... Awkward Parking Lot that is somewhat conveniently located...
Love it just fyi buy one by one passes not all one bags together
Nice facility with affordable and convenient parking. Easy access too as it's right off two interstates. Plenty of lodging on site and within a few minutes walk and there are also good food and entertainment choices in the neighborhood.
Did see just past by
Great RV camping show
Good events all year
We were at the Connecticut convention center for an all star cheerleading competition. Arena was very clean, and competition ran smoothly. Prices were super high unfortunately, but we had a great time regardless!
Very nice event center, it could be much more business productive if we had the Governor in place...
Great for kids
Been here a few years for ConnectiCon, big spacious place with air conditioning, no real complaints
The dinosaurs event was over priced for what it was exhibiting. Family of 4 cost 105.00 for admission. I had a 6 yr.and 7 yr. old and they were not impressed.
Played a Pokemon tournament here. Nice spot
I recently attended a conference here and it was one of the better conference venues I've been to. I only wish I found a coffee shop inside. Maybe it's there, so I won't take away stars for that. But this location had tons of places to unwind after sessions and work spaces when needed.
I went for a conference. It is clean and easy to navigate. I did have fun at the conference. No free WiFi. So I had to use my data all week. I finally found the USB ports to plug into to charge. Told not to bring food in. Well, then how am I going to have time to eat between workshops. NAD should have taken care of that. Fee-based WiFi and the food situation were the worst aspects
Very nice place only go every year for hunting, fishing show
Flower show was tremendous !
