We can't thank Joan at Planning The I DO enough for all she did to make our son and daughter-in-law's wedding run smoothly. Her organization and communication skills are superb. We felt blessed to have her play such an important role in the big day. Joan helped us understand the logistics and challenges of planning a destination wedding in Tybee Island, Georgia. Everything went beautifully thanks to Planning The I DO!

I highly recommend Joan as a wedding planner for professional couples hoping to skip the stressful part of wedding planning. Joan helped us pull off our wedding almost entirely remotely (the wedding was in MD, we were in NY and she was in CO). With her help we stayed on budget and on time, and most importantly sane. She helped us prepare RFPs, negotiate with vendors, and ensure their services were delivered per plan. As we planned our dream wedding, she offered some creative solutions that we wouldn't have thought of otherwise. For example, when we were trying to decide between bands, Joan point out that if we skipped on the expensive $7/person chairs, then the better band would be within our budget. Of course everyone remembered and raved about the band, and no one noticed the chairs, including me. With Joan's expert planning, no one had to stress or scramble in the days leading up to our wedding and everyone got to relax and enjoy the beautiful celebration.

We hired Planning The I DO to provide month of planning for our very large (300+ guests) gay wedding. With everything Joan did, I can't imagine what else we would have needed - I'm certain she did more than most planners do when you use their full service package. She helped us save money at several points in the planning process, the biggest savings came when she helped us negotiate more appropriate service manpower at the venue which saved us $900. There were details about planning a wedding at a City owned facility that never would have crossed our minds and we were glad Joan was attentive to the nuances of this type of venue - like ensuring we had appropriate insurance and reading the venue contract in great detail and ensuring we and every vendor followed the myriad of requirements to the letter so there were no additional charges. From the beginning of the day to the end of the evening - Joan had everything in hand. She was the first one to arrive to help with set-up and the last to leave when all the vendors were gone and the venue had signed off. She even arranged to have an assistant join her during part of the day at no charge so she could have coverage at both the wedding and the reception venue at the same time. We can't say enough good about Planning The I DO.

Joan is amazing, she planned my daughter's wedding remotely and in a location she had never been to. We had 5 different venues though out the weekend (Welcome Party, Ceremony, Reception, and After Party, Sunday Brunch). Everything went off without a hitch and every detail was thought of and followed through on. After the events, Joan made sure venues were cleaned and everything was returned to the appropiate place. I was able to enjoy the entire event with everything in Joan's capable hands. I would highly recommend Joan, she excelled in an extremely complicated production!

Joan was instrumental in making our wedding day everything we dreamed of. It was the most magical wedding and it was the perfect night. We had a back yard wedding for ~140 guests which seemed an easy task at first glance. Joan helped us understand the logistics of hosting a wedding without a venue. Without her guidance we wouldn't have had a plan for trash disposal, lighting the way to the port-a-potty, busing tables, etc. She helped us work with 14 vendors on every detail including the coordinated timeline, deliveries, payments and tipping. In some cases we would have over tipped so her assistance saved us precious wedding funds. She also was instrumental in helping us communicate with our families and meet everyone's needs. Since we live in CA and the wedding was in Denver we did almost all the work together remotely - she made it easy and effective. We appreciated her flat rate pricing model which eliminated surprises and nickle and diming. There was no worrying about how many hours we needed to talk, how many emails/texts we needed to exchange or how many hours she needed to be onsite for the big day. I encourage anyone having a private venue wedding to consider Planning The I DO for assistance with planning. I can't even begin to say how much I appreciate Joan. I would not have made it through the wedding without her. Everyone in my family mentioned how wonderful and helpful Joan was. Wish I could give her 10 stars!

We initially booked Planning The I DO for month-of wedding planning and quickly realized we couldn’t do it without Joan every step of the way so we upgraded to a full-service package and never regretted that decision. With each passing month, our vision became clearer and with that came more details and more decisions. Our wedding celebration crossed several days, included multiple indoor and outdoor venues and even encompassed a boat flotilla for guest transportation. No task was too large, no detail was too small for Joan. Planning The I DO coordinated delivery of the chairs we wanted from a vendor a few hours away and collaborated with the décor designer and moving company to transform a 1930s park lodge into our dream wedding scene. Planning The I DO also took care of the finer details like ensuring there were enough bottle openers and corkscrews at the bars and made sure our wine was iced throughout a hot Iowa weekend. Her model and tools allowed us to work together collaboratively even though my fiancé and I were in one state, our parents were in another and the wedding was in third state. We recommend Planning The I DO for anyone planning a large, complex wedding.

We hired Planning The I DO for full service wedding planning and we're so glad we did. Our challenges were not small - a 300 person guest list, a private estate venue and a 20 person wedding party. Joan and her team conquered every hurdle to create what our friends called "the most epic wedding ever". The plan involved renting everything from tents to tables to port-a-potties and serving a full bar and mexican themed cocktail hour and reception dinner. The details were endless, but Joan kept us on track and focused. She even identified things that we would have missed like ordering extra linens for the rehearsal dinner and a dumpster. Her financial model kept us in check throughout the planning process. We always knew where we stood with the budget and there were no last minute surprises. On the wedding weekend we truly were able to enjoy and celebrate with friends and family and leave everything in her capable hands. We definitely recommend Planning The I DO.
