Service was wonderful. The food is excellent. We were asked several times throughout the meal if everything was to our satisfaction, and it seemed as if we had 2 or 3 servers due to people picking up empty plates and constantly refilling our drinks. The atmosphere is also very nice.

Absolutely one if the best steaks I've ever had... cooked to perfection service was wonderful and very quick but I was there on a Thursday and early evening at that but a MUST try STEAK HOUSE and I loved there bread tasted home made lovely to say the least ..plus server gave me some great tips on thing to do around town 10 out of 10 in my book

We went to the porterhouse last night for dinner, and were very impressed with the service. Our server, Quina, was prompt and attentive. The food was exactly what you would expect for nice restaurant in Hot Springs Arkansas. We had the filet Oscar style and the crabmeat stuffed swordfish. Both entree’s came with 2 sides and a salad included. The food was decent, and portion sizes generous. The crab meat on our entrees tasted more like a crab salad, and the shrimp that garnished my swordfish was too rubbery to bother eating. But hey, we were trying to eat seafood in the deep Midwest. We knew full well what we were getting ourselves into. The filet, on the other hand, was actually pretty tasty. For the most part, I would say The Porterhouse was a pleasant experience. On the way out, at least 3 different employees made sure to thank us for dining with them and wished us a nice evening.

I called to see if it was busy and the they laughed and said I could be put on the wait list that was an hour plus long. I show up and the restaurant is only half full. I get seated right and that's the end of good service. Ordered wine and it was forgetten twice, the waitress came by the table twice. Brought us the wrong soup and the steak that took over an hour was tasteless. Horrible service on a none busy night, would hate to see how much worse they are on a busy night.

We ate there tonight. Our service was superb, our server, Suki was so attentive, knowledgeable, and so accommodating. Our food was so delicious. My husband had the coutryman's sirloin and I had a prime rib special, both were excellent. The bread and pesto and beef vegetable soup were as well. The portions were generous, so we brought back food to our hotel for later with yummy dessert. Thanks for the experience, I'm just sorry I didn't get the getlemans name who brought our bread and kept our water glasses full, and I drink a great deal of water. Suki you made it a very wonderful evening. We will be back when we come back to hot springs.

We went here for my wife’s birthday on a Friday night and the place was empty. The server was very polite, and patient even though we came about an hour and a half before closing and took our time ordering. We ordered the coconut shrimp and as soon as it was set down I knew it was overcooked. The shrimp was rubbery and the batter tasted like they had frozen fried shrimp they re-battered in coconut shreds. The French onion soup was alright, although the bowl it’s served in is extremely hot, a detail the runner neglected to mention, but I swiftly figured out the hard way. The steaks were cooked perfectly, although we both agreed that they could have had more complex seasoning. We skipped the vegetables and the potatoes altogether, since they lacked seasoning, and the baked potatoes didn’t even come with cheese. Something else we noticed is that if you order a soda, they only give you 1 free refill after charging you $2.75 for the first. In summary, the steaks were good but not great, everything could have used more seasoning, and we would have enjoyed it more if everything wasn’t so overpriced for what we got, and we weren’t nickeled-and-dimed on top of the markup.

Best steaks in Hot Springs. The service to top notch. We eat here about 10 times a year. My wife and I were not big steak eaters until we discovered this restaurant. The porterhouse steak is always done just the way we like it (medium rare) and tastes great.

My husband and went to eat here for our 12 year anniversary. We orderd well done steaks. His was well done. Mine filled my plate with blood when I cut into it. I couldn't eat the sides because they were covered in blood. I must admit I wasn't impressed. They really didn't offer many options for food choices. Wasn't worth the money.

If you're in the mood for a steak look no further! For my inaugural visit here I ordered the 18oz t-bone prepared to be "medium". It was perfectly seared and the level of pink was spot on! You will not be disappointed. Expect to spend 100.00 to 150.00 for you and a date depending on if you have drinks. I had tea and my girlfriend had two glasses of mucato and the tab was 120.00 with a 20 for the tip. Go, and enjoy!!!

Great ambiance, charming, romantic, perfect for our anniversary dinner. Both our steaks were perfectly cooked and the Chocolate Creme Brûlée was sinfully delicious. Order the cannelloni. Basic and bland. Way too much sauce. Server offer us parmesan cheese and it was the canned powder. For $25 I expect way better ingredients. My wife ordered lobster ravioli for $25 and got frozen ravioli swimming sauce with small frozen shrimp on top. Way over priced.

Friendly, flexible service. We had a party of 12, with a camera crew and no reservation, but they seated us at two tables. We had lots of questions and fun and the staff never missed a beat with all of us. Food was good, I had fried ravioli (vegetarian), but weird the jim beam double neat was served chilled. Good specials with decent pricing. Hot springs is the best!

My wife and I visited The Porterhouse for an anniversary dinner recently and were thoroughly pleased with the experience. The server was attentive and caring, checking on us often. The food was great. But my filet was absolutely incredible! I told my wife and she agreed after a bite that it may be best steak I've ever enjoyed. I believe it was the Filet a la oscar ordered medium. Top notch place for dinner. We will be back whenever we visit Hot Springs again.

The food was amazing and the staff were very attentive. The serving sizes are huge so you definitely get what you pay for. I've honestly never had a better steak at a restaurant. My only complaint is the lack of a baby changing station in the bathroom. The only place to change my son was on the counter by the door and if anyone would have come in I would have been hit by the door. Otherwise a beautiful place to eat.

Best steak I've ever had. The only thing that wasn't 110% was the hovering. I don't want or need someone within arms reach of my table. In fact, don't grab a plate or even refill my drink repeatedly without me approving it. Overall a really great night because of the great experience at the porterhouse. Just please don't tell my wife I was there.

One of the best prepared filet mignon I've had. Medium rare with a push and cooked to perfection. Started with the wedge which was extremely good. I had vegetable medley of Bourget, yellow squash, onion, and green beans. My wife's baked broccoli in a cheese sauce was outrageously delicious. I think the sauce had cloves in it which really was a nice touch of savoury with a touch of sweetness. Service was excellent. Very attentive to every need and you can tell they with as a good team.

My wife and I split the 22oz bone in ribeye. It was amazing, cooked to perfection, and melted in your mouth! Our server David and the bartender were awesome, in fact every server in The Porterhouse never stopped running! Some people (in the reviews) complain about the price, but you get what you pay for, it's excellent. Definitely recommend!

The Porterhouse Review BLUF: If you’re looking for steak, this is the one place in Hot Springs you have to visit. Serendipity brought us to The Porterhouse as our out-of-town packing left us colder than anticipated on our walk from the Arlington to the 501 Prime for dinner and drinks. While I’ve never been, I can’t imagine the 501 experience could have been any more sublime than the one the Porterhouse staff curated for us. The restaurant was fairly busy, but the thoughtful hostess seated us in a (comparatively) quiet table up front. Our friendly and helpful waiter guided us through the menu, and ultimately, presented us with what I would consider one of the single best meals I’ve had in my life. Based on my experience, I would say any of the steaks here would be great, but you can’t go wrong with the 22 oz. Porterhouse or the 8oz. filet mignon, but if you’ve got a long walk back, you might stick with the 6 oz.

The other two didn't get their drinks until 15 mins before our food. Which took an hour and half to get our food after ordering. Then we finally got refills on our drinks. Won't be returning.

We had 6 people in our party on a Saturday night. We didn’t have reservations, and only waited about 10-15 min for a table. Buuuut wait, it gets real good. So we sat down and they pretty quickly took our drink order. However, it took about 30 min to even get our drinks. Then, she came and took our order for our meal and we order an appetizer, 4 steaks, and two pasta dishes. We waited almost an hour and half for our APPETIZER! It’s gets even better though... so then Once we finally get our food (the steaks were cooked pretty good. Although we had one person order med rare and he got more like a RAW steak) I had pasta and as I’m scarfing down my food because at this point I’m starving I find a lovely HAIR deep down in my pasta. We sent the meal back, and they didn’t charge for it. So that’s good. All in all, the service was very slow (waited a over 2 and half hours total), and the food is somewhat okay for the price.I was highly disappointed in this restaurant, and won’t be back.

On vacation and looked up steak houses and read the reviews. It was a great place for dinner. We ordered prime rib and it was amazing. My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner when visiting Hot Springs and we were not disappointed. We both had filets and they were cooked to perfection. The margaritas that I had were so delicious and the friend pickles also great. Our waitress kept up with our drinks and made sure everything was great as well as gave us a yummy dessert for our anniversary. I would go back again next time we are in Hot Springs.

Really enjoyed eating here! After a day of sight seeing in Hot Springs, this was a great way to end the day. The shrimp cocktail was amazing, loved the fresh bread, and we ordered the Porterhouse for 2.. and everything about it was sooo good! All of the meat was perfectly cooked, and the seafood stuffed portobello was awesome! Friendly staff, good food, good atmosphere.. definitely worth checking out!!

This place was pretty good, but pretty pricey as well. The menu was limited like most steak houses which I'm not really a big fan of. My steak was pretty good, but not the best I've had. The potato was pretty good. The vegetables were pretty bland. Our server was very nice and did a great job taking care of us. I probably wouldn't go back, but I suggest you try it at least once.

Ordered the filet Oscar style (lump crab meat, asparagus and sauce) but disappointed. Steak came out like a hockey puck and the crab meat resembled more of canned cat food but tasted like tuna? The house bread and salad were delicious though. Service was decent and the waitress was polite.

If I am being honest.. the ambience, service and the vibe is 2.5 and the food is undoubtedly 5. It is one of the oldest restaurants in hot springs. The whole interior is oozing the history all over the place. But very poorly decorated and managed. I was kind of disappointed till they served the food. We ordered two Filet mignon and it was delicious. I had steaks in various places however this was a very different flavor and cooked medium rare to the perfection. If you are ready to compromise on few other stuffs and want to have good steak then this place worth a visit.

Presentation was poor at best! Server was nice, but most of them seemed to be dressed overly causal. Paper on the table was a cheap way to not wash the table cloths but for the price we pay for food here you would think they could afford to do a load of laundry. Steak was ordered medium and came out burnt. Butterfly shrimp looked like popcorn shrimp. Table was leaning at least 10degrees to one corner. Dinning room looks like it's used as storage with all the stuff that's mismatched in the end of the room. In need of a overhaul and it could be a really nice elegant place for dinner. A ceiling fan also looks like it's about to fall as it wobbles around. Sorely Disappointed!

We had a catered brunch at The Porterhouse in Hot Springs on November 4, 2018. This place was wonderful! The food was served buffet style while drinks were served by wait staff. The owners of the restaurant greeted me personally at the door. They were completely prepared for my 75 guests. The whole group of staff were warm and friendly taking great care of every guest. Best of all, the food was excellent! Something for everyone.

Honestly the best steak in Hot Springs. Dim candle lit atmosphere. I cant praise the steaks enough here. A little pricey but you get what you pay for and well worth the money. You dont need a chainsaw to cut your steak and every bite of all the food is mouth watering goodness. My place for dinner dates. Absolutely love love love it.

What a way to celebrate our first anniversary! Hands down the WORST service I've ever had! The hostess (who was doing everything she could to help us) apologized twice for the service before SHE took our drink order. We were given the wrong appetizer. She then had to come back and get our food orders because our waitress was nowhere to be found! We spent more time waiting on our waitress than we did eating! The hostess (again) had to get us our check because, once again, our waitress was nowhere to be found. The hostess apologized at least 20 times for the poor service. As we left, she offered us a coupon. We didn't take it. It definitely wasn't worth the $70 we spent and I refuse to spend another $70 to be ignored and forgotten about! Never again! I truly wish we would have spoken to the owner. However, he was busy comping the couple next to us. Apparently, they had a similar experience. Also one of the wait staff spilled a glass of wine on a lady at another table!

A disappointing anniversary dinner on many levels. We visited from Dallas. So many things to address: First..their wine list is not "extensive" as advertised online. It's pretty basic with what you'd get at a grocery store. We brought a nice bottle and called ahead for corkage fees. They said it would be $10 for 2 people as I heard them discussing it at host stand. Turns out it was $18 and they didnt honor the price we were originally told. Hosts seemed untrained and casual. When we needed more wine poured, we had to ask after waiting a bit and after a few table visits of empty glasses. Again...this is unusual since they charged to service us and I'm not about to serve my own wine after paying for service. The menu pricing justified a nicer dressed staff. They looked rough, unpolished, and the service felt very casual-much like you'd get at a cafe. The seafood bisque tasted watered down as if they did not use heavy cream or butter. Bread was the most bland bread I've ever had. I immediately could tell this place was cutting corners on quality ingredients. The whole meal was underwhelming. My steak gorgonzola dish was very rare (ordered medium rare) and drenched in sauce so the plating looked unprofessional and overcompensatory with sauce. My husbands ossobucco was underwhelming..didnt taste special at all. The risotto was not risotto at all...just salty overcooked rice. You expect a reasonable presentation for a nice meal and items cooked to standard. You'd also expect more fine dining practices and standards for the price...like clearing and setting the table for the next course. When we decided to take some of the food home, they brought us boxes. A good server will box items up for you and not make the guest do work, especially at that pricepoint. (I was a server for 15 years in upscale destination reatuarants). We ordered coffee and it came in clear glasses which emphasized that it was very watered down as it looked like tea. It didnt taste good despite being "fresh." It tasted very cheap. Creme brulee didnt have enough caramelization and the free anniversary dessert was a caramely gooey mess and couldnt tell if it was cheesecake as it was chewy. With the price we paid for over meal...they missed the mark and not one thing redeemed the experience. The server was kind and prompt. That's about it. Restaurant seems way overpriced and confused on their identity. I would not call it a steakhouse but a cafe at best. Sad if this is the best steak in hot springs. I've had way better consistently in other cities. Outback is better. Don't plan a special meal here. Owner: Go to an upscale steakhouse in a big city and take note. You have much to teach your staff. Many of your guests are from out of town and have higher expectations.

The Porterhouse is a really nice place - don't let the outside fool you. My husband and I went there for dinner. He had the rack of lamb, salad, sauteed spinach, and grilled vegetables. I had the 6 oz filet, medium rare, salad, and grilled veggies. It was delicious! Perfectly seasoned and cooked. The waitstaff was awesome as well - very welcoming and helpful. Don't miss this if you're in Hot Springs!

So this is a self-proclaimed STEAK HOUSE, right? Here's my experience. I ordered a $35 bone-in ribeye, 18oz, 21-day dry aged according to the menu. Well I can recognize the smell and taste of a dry-aged steak right off the bat, and my steak was NOT dry aged. Secondly, I ordered it medium. It came out just a hair less than medium rare and rare. I cut into it at two different places and showed the server. She took it back and had them cook it longer. It came back well-done. :( :( :( Third, where is the sear??? Ya have to give a good steak a sear! I would not recommend this restaurant, as they apparently do NOT know how to cook steaks. It's unfortunate for them.

I hate to admit it and I really can’t put my finger on “why”, but I had really low expectations here. As it turned out, I absolutely loved it. Steaks were exceptional and the service was too. Very quaint, turn of the century decor. We had a party of 8 and the staff never missed a beat! Very inexpensive compared to almost any other steakhouse. Cool place that I will make a habit when in town.

The only good thing about this place was dessert. First picture was supposed to be a wedge salad. Didn't look like it, and didn't taste like it. Second picture is the bread basket. Since when does a $24 a entree place give you frozen butter in a plastic container. Ordered calamari, it showed up undercooked and very chewy. Ordered lobster ravioli, it tasted like canned tomatoes and store Marina sauce. Everything reads me like a place in a cash crunch substituting sub par ingredients. Only thing going for this place are good servers and atmosphere.

Its ok, cooked great!! Service is good, atmosphere is fun. You can just tell its food product is is either bagged, frozen, just cheap, and their mark up is high. Small resteraunt staying afloat.

Good service, good food. A little over priced for what it is. The one thing I've never seen is grilled vegetables on a plate with a steak. Who puts onions on the same plate as a good steak and let onions ruin the flavor of the steak. The negative. The restrooms are a disaster, I would expect much nicer facilities in a nice place. It makes me think if you dont take care of the restrooms a simple thing, then what else are you skipping out on, like cleaning the kitchen.

Servers are nice-nasty. My mom went to the restroom to wash her hands and someone used the same faucet as her and washed their hands on top of hers. So I think the people in that area are interesting. Food was okay, nothing fantastic for the price.

We had a truly delicious dinner at the Porterhouse, in Hot Springs, Arkansas! The filiet minion was so tender I didn't need a knife. The salad was also delicious as well as everything else included in the meal. I will definitely come back if we are in the area. A great stop!

Ribs were burned and tough, steak was grizzle, steak tips had chili powder coated, wait time for food arrival was 1.15 min. Did comp us on our meal however and the waitress was really nice!
