I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I feel like future customers should be aware of what level of care they may possibly receive. Almost a year ago I had a wedding reception and I used Somthin Borrowed to rent tents, tables, chairs, and linens. The reason that I put any stars is that during the whole process almost all the people I dealt with were very kind, however I did have problems from the very beginning. To start someone had entered the date of my event incorrectly in the computer although it was correct in their hard copies, and it took over a month for someone to correct it. So every time we talked about delivery dates and times they were suggesting completely wrong weekends. It took me pointing this out several times before anyone looked into it. Later they notified me that they were short of the linens I ordered so I had to come back into the store and find some different tablecloths to mix in. This was slightly annoying because I had mismatched table clothes at my reception but overall not a huge deal. However the biggest issues I had with them were with payment and delivery/pick up times. The invoice amount varied with every person I spoke with, and it seemed like there wasn't a uniform way the employees were charging the services. The time I may have been most offended is when the owner told me that she had undercharged me while giving me a disapproving stare. I asked her if I needed to pay the difference and she said no, perhaps begrudgingly. The business owner should have either eaten those costs or asked me to pay , but don't guilt her customer about her own mistake by mentioning it. However the most hands-down, absolutely most stressful thing about the whole marriage process was trying to tie this company down for delivery dates. I regret trying to be a calm and understanding customer because I do believe they took full advantage of it. It was a battle to peg them down on a certain day and time they would deliver; I mean numerous calls and emails. After we had FINALLY set on a date to deliver, their truck showed up at the event place (a private residence) the night before (around 7 at night) the actual agreed upon delivery date. They did this completely without my consent. The way I found out was by the house owner calling me in hysterics because A) no one was even home when they started setting up and B) they still needed to mow the lawn. To top this all off, even after all this was settled and we were getting everything assembled, they ended giving us somebody else's linens, so some poor person got their lines very late and all crumpled up (we had already opened them). So my advice is this: Overall I ended up spending over $2300 at this business, but I still felt like a low priority client. Unless you plan to spend vast sums of money there, be prepared to be extremely firm in your requests and be vigilant about your invoice. Take away here is that I don't believe this business necessarily had bad intentions , but nevertheless it is extremely disorganized and for me personally was the most negative and stressful aspect of planning my event.
