I think we hired Amy about 11 months out from our wedding (11.13.16) and right from the get go Amy was literally “on it”. She jumped right into the planning and assisted with so many logistical details with the hotel - advocating for us and our needs, navigated my Mom and I through interviewing and picking the best photographer and videographer, setting all the appointments, and helped us flush out what we were really looking for in these vendors and what we wanted on the day of and in the final product. I loved that Amy consistently made herself available via phone calls, texts, and meetings throughout the week and weekends to get things done. When it came time to do our invitation – Amy saw my frustration as my vision wasn’t coming to life the way I was thinking about it my head – and through a few revisions and discussions – she helped us design and pull together exactly what fit for our wedding! In the end it was gorgeous, as well as all the accompanying pieces. Through the editing process, Amy was absolutely invaluable, in my opinion, ensuring the words and style and format were exactly right on each piece, that all the copy/text was accurate and also working with the printer to ensure the Hebrew that we added was without error. Amy connected us to the best vendors and helped us work through ideas and designs with the florist, the linen lady, and the paper goods – like the itinerary for the welcome bag, menu chargers for the wedding, etc… Throughout the months leading up to our amazing wedding, Amy was always suggesting cute things and details to add to enhance our style of our wedding and the other weekend events, too. We had so much fun pinning tons of ideas on Pinterest and having multiple discussions ensuring everything we were doing fit exactly right with the look and feel of our special day. When it got to the day of – and in advance of the day of – Amy was on top of everything – schlepping things to the hotel – organizing all the vendors, ensuring timelines were accurate and that everyone knew where they needed to be, etc… Amy always has a smile on her face and with positive assertiveness gets things done efficiently! Additionally, since we had a Kosher wedding – Amy was so helpful in working with the Rabbi’s and the Hotel – coordinating between them and ensuring the wedding went off without a hitch. Amy was super fun to work with and always had our best interests at heart ensuring our wedding weekend was a dream come true. Thank you Amy!!
We could not have pulled off the wedding weekend of our dreams without our fearless leader, Amy Petrovsky! Planning a wedding from across the country was daunting to say the least, but Amy always assured us that we were right on pace, thanks to her meticulous organization skills and processes. She was always available to talk whenever we needed her and kept us up-to-date in real-time via the Google Drive folder she put together for us and helped us manage with all of our checklists, budget spreadsheets and other very helpful materials she provided. Her flexibility and accommodating personality was so appreciated while my husband and I were planning the wedding amongst our otherwise incredibly busy work schedules. Believe it or not, we only went out to Scottsdale ONCE before the wedding to meet with her in-person for the first time and to meet with all of our many options of vendors. She seamlessly coordinated that entire weekend with all of those meetings and helped us make efficient decisions within a very limited time-frame. When I think back on that whirlwind of a weekend, I cannot believe all that we got accomplished. And we had so much fun doing it!! That’s the thing about Amy… It is miraculous the way she keeps everyone on-task while still reminding everyone that we are planning the most incredible event of our lives and that we should enjoy every moment of it! As we got closer to the wedding (and the anxiety started to kick in!), I was very much be able to lean on Amy for all of the little details that needed to be taken care of. Her and my mom really hit it off and worked so well together in those last couple of months, and I was so appreciative of the relationship they had. It was so comforting to know I had these two women I trusted so much taking care of all of the last-minute details. Among so many other things, Amy even opened up personal space in her own home as we started shipping boxes upon boxes of things out to Scottsdale prior to the wedding! That is just one of so many examples that shows how personally invested she is in her clients and the perfect execution of their big day. She is willing and happy to do just about anything to make it the most pleasant and convenient experience possible for everyone involved. Not only did she help us plan the wedding day itself, she also helped us plan our rehearsal dinner and welcome festivities the night before, and a pool party brunch the day after! It was a BIG undertaking to say the least, and she did it without batting an eye. When it came to the rehearsal dinner in particular, we definitely could not have done it without her. Because it was Valentine’s Day, we decided to host it at a private residence we had rented and everything was supposed to be outside on the beautiful lawn. As luck would have it, the weather forecast was threatening rain, which is very rare in Scottsdale, so not something we had anticipated at all… I honestly had no idea what we were going to do because I knew all off the furniture we had rented (and all of the people!) would never comfortably fit inside. But I did know that Amy had it under control and that she would figure it out. And of course she did! She helped us swap out the rentals last-minute for furniture that would fit better in the space and turned the house into a stunning venue with her creative vision and flexibility. And she did all of this while I was at my hair and makeup trial, so when I walked out of there, everything had already been taken care of. And it honestly turned out better than I could’ve even imagined. I could go on and on about all of the ways she helped make our wedding the most amazing experience ever, but I will end with this… Amy is SENSATIONAL. She is THE planner. There is no one else out there that could’ve pulled off what she did for us, and I am eternally grateful to her for everything. She went so above and beyond for us every step of the way and I could tell that she found true joy and pride in doing so, which made us equally proud to have her leading the way. We love you Amy!!!
We loved Amy from the moment we met her. She was extremely warm, friendly and professional. Once she started to help us with the planning of our wedding, we were amazed at how perfectly Amy was able to identify what suited our tastes. She had quickly become familiar with who we were and what we liked. Amy worked exceptionally hard for us to make our dream wedding come true, while at the same time working with a budget that we had set. She found the best vendors for all aspects of the wedding. Amy and her team helped plan my destination wedding in Scottsdale, AZ in March of 2016. It was difficult since my family lives in TX, and during the time of the planning, I was in IL, moving to CA to join my fiance. Once we found our venue, Amy made the experience unbelievably efficient and easy! She was so incredibly helpful - she gave me vendor choices, set up meetings, and me and my family only had to make TWO trips to Scottsdale to get all of the wedding planning done! She was so incredibly organized and professional, which just shows how exceptional the her event planning business is. It was amazing. She also worked within our budget and all of her connections and vendors that we used were excellent - florist, photographer, wedding band, etc. Amy also has the best team that assisted with branding our wedding. The welcome bags, mints at the wedding, napkins, cards, EVERYTHING was amazing. Everyone was obsessed with her welcome bags and all of the guests used them at the resort the whole weekend. The weekend of the wedding, from our Thursday night welcome dinner, Friday rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, and Saturday wedding day was completely flawless. Everything was PERFECT! The parties were so great! When it came down to being there and enjoying my wedding weekend, it was so stress-free and easy. I couldn't believe how relaxed I was because I didn't have to worry about a single thing. I just had to follow our timeline that we worked on, and the whole entire weekend fell into place! Amy and her team at Sensational Events are fantastic!!! My wedding and the entire weekend were so perfect!
Amy/Sensational Events was incredible. Amy planned a double header for me- 2 huge parties at my home with 100+ guests, back to back. A 50th surprise birthday party for my husband Friday, followed by a bar/bat mitzvah party for my 2 kids on Saturday with 90+ kids! I am still getting compliments on BOTH parties and a most fun weekend had by all. Check out the popcorn and margarita bars on her Facebook page. SO creative and memorable. Not only is Amy uber professional, but she can physically work as hard as anyone I've seen. The best part of the process was working with Amy, who not only gave me computer lessons along the way, but kept me laughing. So fun. Yes, I highly recommend Sensational Events. ;)
Rarely can a mother-of-a-bride say, "Everything went exactly as I imagined" but these are the first words that come to mind when trying to express how incredible of a job Amy did for my daughter's destination wedding in Scottsdale. When Amy and I first connected I could tell from our initial conversation how organized she was and how her attention to detail would make planning a wedding from a different state a pleasure. I made only 2 short trips to Scottsdale. Amy had conversations with my daughter, Gabrielle, to find out what her "vision" was. Even though my daughter claimed she had " no set vision" with Amy's guidance they developed what turned into the most wonderful wedding weekend. Amy lead us to the most incredible vendors....from the photographer, to the florist, band, etc. If I had researched every possible choice myself I could not have come up with a better list! Amy is very efficient and truly anticipates all your needs even before you do. She planned a Thursday night dinner with a trolley for our guests, Friday Rehearsal Dinner, Wedding, and Sunday Morning Brunch complete with a Bloody Mary Bar! She handled a multitude of tasks including all of our guest rooms at the resort. The task seemed so overwhelming but she managed everything. There are so many moving parts to an event this big. I truly say, I could not imagine anyone doing such a magnificent job. My guests all stayed at one hotel and the overwhelming comment was how beautifully everything flowed together and how the ENTIRE weekend (not just the wedding) was so much fun and of course gorgeous! Our guests were greeted with the welcome bags that Amy had made for us. Everyone carried these around after enjoying all their treats. Even the welcome note that accompanied the bag was commented on. To say the event was "first class" would be an understatement. I highly recommend using Amy and her team for a wedding. I was truly able to enjoy our daughter's wedding. I think one of the best compliments I received was my friends and family commenting how relaxed I was (I am rarely, if ever, described as relaxed!) I owe this all to Amy!! One of the funniest comments came from a relative soon after the wedding. It was "I'm worried. How will you ever top this wedding". I said, "don't worry....I would never do a wedding with out Amy! She'll be there for the next one!"
My wife's 50th Birthday Celebration wasn't the biggest party Sensational Events has planned, but the stakes were very high. Happily, Amy and Sensational Events lived up to its name in every sense of the word. Amy is fantastic at understanding your vision for the event and then pulling together the details to make it all a reality. Her communication with me was excellent and she was incredibly responsive to questions and requests. I especially liked how she worked with the venue to pull off a magical night for my wife's birthday. I would never have been able to get this done without Amy's experience, patience and attention to detail.
The Desert Foothills Library in Cave Creek employed Amy Petrovsky at Sensational Events to work on the 7th Annual Gala which took place on February 7th 2015. I was initially overwhelmed when I began the planning process for my son’s bar mitzvah. There were so many decisions that needed to be made, and as a working mom of three, making the time was difficult. After interviewing several planners, I met Amy Petrovsky with Sensational Events. I knew immediately that she was the planner we were looking for. She is one of the most organized people I have ever met, and she had no problem working within our budget. After our first meeting, I immediately felt excited and way less stressed. Amy is a “get it done” professional, and she is great at negotiating and getting the best deals for her clients. Amy was wonderful!!! For 6 months before, and through their wedding day, with just one very organized wedding planning weekend trip to Scottsdale from Cleveland, Amy worked with my daughter and her fiancé in planning the destination wedding of their dreams. From finalizing timelines, confirming vendors, running the rehearsal, and of course bringing it all together the day of the event, we (mom & dad of the bride) could not be happier with the job she did in helping us create a celebration that we felt good about. I rarely do reviews as I am involved in many organizations. However I felt very strongly about Amy and her team who put together a seamless event we call Courage Awards. Out Tempe Sports Authority Fpundation retained Amy / Sensational Events to produce the 25th Courage Awards Against all odds Amy delivered. I worked closely with her as a member of TSAF Board through minute details. Amy was Painstakingly patient, professional and empathetic. A rarity in an event planner. Her eye for detail, ethics, integrity resulted in a sold out event. Congratulations and heartfelt appreciation compelled me to put this on paper.
Amy was incredible. She planned three major events for us within a 5 week lead time. Our initial event was a Halloween party for over 350 guests- children and adults included. Five months later, people still thank us for the incredible party. While she was working on that event, unbeknownst to me, she was also working with my husband on a surprise 40th birthday party for me the week prior! The food, venue, decor and entertainment were perfection. And as if two great parties back to back weren't enough, she planned an elegant outdoor Thanksgiving for 40 just three weeks later. Amy truly is sensational!!! My fiancé and I decided on a destination wedding after experiencing my sister’s gorgeous wedding in Arizona, in which Amy was their wedding planner. Once we decided on California as our wedding destination, we didn’t think she could be our planner since she is based in Arizona, but after our first phone call, she assured us that she would be more than up for the job. Amy’s professionalism, organizational skills, her penchant for detail, and invaluable experience are obvious from the start. She is very personable and kept us on track regarding all the things we had to do. Unlike other couples we have observed, we never really stressed out about wedding planning because that’s how awesome Amy is!!! She really listened to what's important to us and made sure we enjoyed our day. She did all the research on venue spaces, florists, DJs, photographers, makeup artists etc. and encouraged us to choose who we felt was right for us. I knew Amy would be a great match for my daughter, and as Mother of the Bride, I recognized that Amy's energy and knowledge were exactly what I needed. Amy tuned in to my daughter’s wishes very quickly, and was always respectful of my role, perspective, and input. Amy presented ideas and options, and guided us through the process of securing vendors, ie: photographer, videographer, florist, stationary, and more. I particularly appreciated her advocacy with the assorted negotiations with the hotel. As we were hosting an entire weekend, Amy could envision the overall scheme of color, design, décor, and meals to ensure continuity and flow. While we were willing to give our daughter the wedding of her dreams, Amy was responsible and respectful of costs and the budget. We greatly appreciated this! Amy was readily available and extended herself; she provided open and frank communication. Without Amy and Sensational Events we wouldn’t have had such an amazing wedding experience! With all of the coordination, communication, scheduling, budgeting, and organization planning a wedding can be a daunting task. Especially for two full time workers who wanted to have a kosher wedding. When Danielle and I were first engaged we knew that we wanted to make our wedding a once in a lifetime event. Getting the right help would be crucial in achieving this. When we met Amy we knew right away that she would be the one to plan this extraordinary occasion. Amy communicated and coordinated between all of the family members both local and out of town regarding the budget, events, guest lists, and overall timeline of the entire wedding. When we needed something to get done she was on top of it making phone calls, sending e-mails, and making home visits. Amy even helped surprise my wife by coordinating time for me to practice with the wedding band so that I could sing a song for my wife at the wedding. Amy orchestrated it all! Helping to pick out the venue, organizing the rehearsal dinner, choosing the invitations, the wedding band, the flowers, the food, the wedding cake, the table settings, the tablecloth. And all of it coordinated to perfection. Even after the wedding was over Amy kept in contact with us following up on wedding pictures, videography, and “Thank you” notes. After only a few minutes of chatting it was clear I needed her help with finalizing all my ideas. Amy is all about creating a personalized experience. Our ideas and her creative design solutions developed a stunning design and a beautiful reflection of our daughter’s love of dancing. Every detail was meticulously addressed, including the table design color palate, the room’s ambiance lighting, and the flow of the evening. Our firm had a group of 15 down for the Phoenix open and Amy took care of every moment of our weekend. From looking after the golf to booking restaurants ,helped us pick out a great resort,setting up transport, etc. Amy was detailed and gave us lots of options to choose from. Amy took excellent care of us for my 60th birthday party. All of the things I was worried about were taken care of by her! She has contacts with the best vendors for everything I needed to make my event unique and special. Moreover, she worked with our budget and still created a spectacular evening for all of our guests. We got glowing comments back for weeks after the party. Amy was there from early afternoon til the last of our guests were gone, the caterers had cleaned up, and all of the party rentals had been removed. Would we use her again? Absolutely!!

Amy with Sensational Events is AMAZING to work with from a hotel/catering manager standpoint! Amy is extremely organized, professional and creative! This way she and I were able to work out the beginning to the end options on our negotiations to the client. Amy actually DOES the middle work so we don't have to go through the back and forth. Amy Petrovsky came highly recommended to me by several trusted people. I interviewed several event planners for my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah but after meeting with Amy, knew she was the right choice. Amy was very professional and understood my time constraints. I hired Amy a year before the event and she was incredible at laying out the timeline and making sure there was no stress while planning. Amy is incredibly organized and detailed. The budget she presented was concise and she guided me in key decisions so that we would come in at or slightly below the budget. My daughter’s Bat Mitzvah and weekend festivities were perfect! Everyone had a great time and I would not hesitate to hire Amy again!
I was fortunate enough to come across Amy and Sensational Events in May when I had a corporate golf event in Phoenix. The event was simply spectacular. Another wedding in the books with Amy! Two weeks after our daughter's wedding in March 2016 (destination wedding at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess) her sister became engaged. In true Hernandez fashion she did not want a long engagement. Since Amy had just finished her sister's wedding of course we asked her to plan the next one. This one seemed slightly more challenging given the wedding location would be in Houston (another destination wedding) and a date of 9 months later. Immediately this proved to be as easily orchestrated as the first wedding she did for us. Amy is smart, ultra organized, and conscientious. In two trips to Houston every single detail was planned. Anyone who has ever planned a wedding knows this is not an easy feat. Amy spent a lot of time researching and talking to vendors in Houston until everything was booked and planned to perfection. I think "detail" is Amy's middle name! Amy knows how to work within her client's budget and is thoughtful. Perfection is truly the key to Amy's success. She listens to her clients very closely. As the Mother-of-the -Bride (twice in 17 months!) I can say she has made it an art form to please both the mother AND the bride and groom. In our case, our two daughters had very different tastes and styles for their weddings. Amy saw that their vision of how they wanted their special day to be was truly a reflection of each couples personalities. After our wedding weekend in January 2017 in Houston at the Hotel ZaZa (which included a Welcome Dinner, Rehearsal Dinner, Ceremony and Reception, and a Sunday Brunch) our guests were again astonished at the over the top creativity and execution of every small detail of the weekend. From the font on the ice bars that matched the napkins and ceremony mints, to the huge vinyl "sticker" that covered a 20 ft. long mirror in a foyer, to the sugar rimmed champagne that greeted our guests, to the execution of our 6 food stations, the over the top sophisticated candy station and hot chocolate bar, and the wedding hashtag written in chocolate on the welcome plate of chocolate covered strawberries in the guest rooms.......oh.....and can we discuss the FLOWER WALL.....clearly no stone was left unturned! I think it was an incredible compliment to Amy when my relatives were seriously trying to compare each of our girls weddings with things like "they were both so fabulous!' and "I can't decide which one I liked better.....they were both so different." I believe that alone showed how Amy got to know each of our girls (and their fiancés) so well and wanted to make each wedding weekend so perfect for their tastes. Lastly Amy has become a friend. She is someone you can trust to make sure that the most important day in your daughter's life will be just as you hope and expect it will be......and truthfully even better. For my wife's 60th Birthday she did not want a trip to Europe, or an exotic tropical beach vacation, or even a Pebble Beach golf experience. She wanted to have a Birthday Party that would be one of the most special moments in her life, celebrating with good friends, good food, good music and great memories. I was concerned about planning a big celebration in between Thanksgiving and the holidays. I reached out to Amy only a few months prior to the event and Amy confidently assured me that it could be done. Amy absolutely exceeded expectations and created a wonderful memory for my wife, our family, and closest friends! There are three important attributes for a successful event planner: client-service, vision, and vendor relationships. Client-service: From initial contact to the day of the party, Amy made the planning process smooth and actually fun. Amy is incredibly flexible and brings her significant experience to key decision points. She was always mindful of our wishes for the look and feel of the party as well as our budget for the event. Amy maintained a detailed budget to actual analysis and provided us with a day-of-event timeline of events. She was always available to answer questions and took away the stress of planning a big event. She was there the day of the event-- from set-up to clean up-- to make sure everything went smoothly and most importantly that my wife had a great experience. Vision: It was incredible relief to have Amy's experience in creating a wonderful party for my wife. From lighting, colors, food, entertainment, and comfort for our guests, Amy had great ideas. It is easy to tell that she has planned and executed every type of event (intimate to large) imaginable and she has unparalleled experience to share with her clients. She was able to take our general ideas and make it happen. Vendor relationships: I consider this to be significant and one way to asses the ability of an event planner. Needless to say, Amy seemed to have a wonderful relationship with every vendor that we used for our party. These relationships mean something and you can take great comfort that her vendors will go out of their way to make Amy happy, but more importantly, Amy's clients. The post-party feedback was unbelievable. Everyone I spoke to kept telling me how amazing the party was and how much they enjoyed the event.
First and foremost, Amy is the one person that made our wedding a successful memory in our lives. We are forever thankful for all the work she did from the beginning till the end. My wife and I live in New York and we chose to do a destination wedding in Sedona, Az. We spoke with 20-30 different event planners and wedding planners before we spoke with Amy. Instantly we knew Amy was the one for us when we were talking to her. We were only looking for month of coordination initially but with Amy we were able to afford her full wedding planning service and she went right to work fast from the beginning and orchestrated it all! Amy was great at finding awesome vendors and helped to pick out the venue, choosing the invitations, flowers, the food, the wedding cake, the table settings, the tablecloths, rehearsal dinner etc. Amy always kept a great budget spreadsheet to make sure we were managing our money well. We did not want a cookie cutter wedding and Amy was great at developing our cocktail hour and reception menu. Amy was very creative in all aspects and made things come out even more better than you can imagine. I am a very detail oriented individual and Amy was great at managing all of our expectations. My wife and I were in no stress throughout this process and trusted Amy with everything. Everyone who came to our wedding enjoyed every moment and had nothing to complain about. Everyone said our wedding was one of the best they have ever attended. Even after the wedding was over Amy kept in contact with us following up on wedding pictures and any help we needed shortly after. WOW! I cannot begin to express how absolutely amazing Amy is. Amy planned my sisters wedding and when I got engaged two weeks later, there was no doubt in my mind that Amy HAD to plan my wedding. Amy planned our destination wedding in Houston, Texas so perfectly. In only two trips to Houston to meet with vendors, the hotel, florists and everyone else, Amy had everything planned to a tee. Not only did she work to make sure that my mom and I received the best possible service, she made sure it was at the best possible price. She organized everything for us from hotel room blocks, welcome amenities for our guests, the band, the food, the ceremony music, EVERYTHING! To say the wedding was perfect was an understatement. Whenever any issue arose, Amy was on top of it before I even thought to think about it. Our day was so special and one that will always be the best day of my life, and I know that it's because Amy was in charge of it all. I'm so grateful to have met her and know that whatever your event is, she'll make it amazing for you. We didn't just have a beautiful wedding, we had a beautiful wedding that reflected who me and my husband are and one that our guests continue to rave about. Amy also coordinated our rehearsal dinner and farewell breakfast which made everything absolutely seamless for me, my parents, and all of our out of town guests. She arranged for transportation to and from the hotel and worked closely with the hotel so that all weekend long, everyone knew exactly what was going on, and where they should be. Amy was incredible to work with and was so helpful in planning my husband's 50th Birthday. We had the event at our house in Scottsdale, although we live in Calgary. I planned my son's wedding in fewer than 5 months and from another state. Amy was a huge help and calming presence from the moment I first spoke with her on the phone.
