Erin and Matt Velander of Blomma Designs took on the challenge of coordinating, designing, and beautifully executing our wedding weekend this summer (rehearsal/dinner design, full wedding day design, brunch). Sam and I cannot say enough about Blomma Designs as we feel completely indebted to them for the total perfection that was our wedding weekend. Erin is a visionary genius, and her excellent listening skills, attention to detail, and perfectionistic nature make her the best wedding planner in the world. She corresponded with us practically daily leading up to the wedding and was able to actualize my dreams in a way that astonished the entire wedding party. Her ability to arrange beautiful tablescapes, understand space, and make every nook and cranny beautiful astounded me. Her husband, Matt, even handcrafted a beautiful 5x12 wooden farm table for our event-- and made Sam custom corn hole boards for the occasion that were attractive, well constructed, and enjoyed by all. Needless to say, they are up for any challenge and enjoy personalizing all aspects of your wedding to make it one of a kind. Not to add, Erin has the taste and talent of designers you see in any of the top magazines-- and has even been showcased in different publications. Beyond her unparalleled talent, Erin (and Matt) is incredibly kind, down to earth, and funny. This results in a feeling that you are working with your best friend on your wedding and not some distant business woman. Sam and I had never been to Alaska-- and therefore heavily relied on Erin for choices in picking vendors (cake, photographer, tent, make up, flowers). And I will tell you-- her recommendations were fantastic and resulted in the whole wedding week going seamlessly. The best part of the wedding weekend was that none of us had to do anything (except kick back, relax, and enjoy Alaska's wonders). Erin and Matt had it under control and always remained cool, calm, and collected. You cannot go wrong with Blomma Designs. If you want a state of the art wedding, contact Erin and you're sure to be not only satisfied but totally blown away! Now I just want a reason to plan another event in AK so I can work with Blomma Designs all over again!

My wife and I were wed in November, 2016. We hired Erin and Matt, aka Blomma Designs, as our wedding planners. From the very first meeting they felt like close friends and were always easy to work with. We felt comfortable expressing all of our concerns and crazy ideas throughout the entire process; nothing baffled these two. Our wedding was in Indian, Alaska, at the Forget-Me-Knot Nursery. This is a bare-bone venue, requiring us to provide catering, entertainment, all the tables and chairs, etc... Erin recommended great vendors and coordinated all the delivery and setup details with ease. The greatest element of Erin and Matt’s work is their amazing knack for design. During several planning sessions, we shared our vision and they would build upon it with awesome ideas and concepts. The day before our wedding, a cold, empty greenhouse was transformed into a warm, enchanting venue for love to be shared. Edison bulbs hung from the rafters with dense greenery, flickering candles were scattered and greens flowed across the giant table. Bouquets and boutonnieres were breathtaking with flawless details. Everything was perfect. Planning the most beautiful day of your life will be fun, stressful and overwhelming; it’s all part of the process. Blomma Designs navigated us through all the high and lows of the experience with excellence. When the day comes, it will be perfect.

Where to begin. Erin is amazing. Your initial meeting will be incredibly informative, with no pressure to hire her. She is professional and asks all the right questions as... she knows what she is doing! After one meeting, showing her my vision and discussing our needs, we felt completely confident that she would be the perfect person to handle our wedding. And we were right. She not only helped us bring our vision to life, but surpassed our expectations. She was absolutely priceless when it came to organizing vendors and day-of coordination. She pays attention to detail and thought of so many "little" things that made our day more organized and enjoyable for everyone. When we came to her with an "untraditional" wedding, all standing, no sit-down dinner, she helped us turn it into an elegant and intimate event without batting an eyelash. Erin rocks, call her!

Wedding Creative & Design is awesome! Yvette and her team are SO GOOD at what they do. I own a local catering company, Peppercini's, and cater around 25-30 weddings annually. We work with lots of wedding planners. Some are good, others not so much, and I can not say enough good things about Yvette and her company. Yvette meticulously balances taking care of the needs of the bride/groom, as well as the guest, while making the DJ, Florist, Caterer, Wedding Cake Designer jobs as efficient as possible. Erin at Blomma Designs is absolutely amazing. She has a relaxed attitude which just brings this sense of calmness when you are freaking out about the little things. She is very good at keeping track of all the details. She understands what you want and can help tweak it if you are open to making it better (because her ideas are probably better), or if you want it exactly one way, she will help it happen. She makes you feel like you are the only bride that she is dealing with. I really cannot tell you just how happy I was with her. You should definitely book her. She is amazing. And her prices are also very good for what you are getting.

Erin was the best wedding planner any bride could hope for. Throughout the process, she kept us informed and ensured we were comfortable with the many involved decisions and the plans that every wedding goes through. Erin has the experience and knowledge to make any person's special day exceptional. I had first witnessed her handiwork at a friend's wedding and decided that we needed her expertise. That wedding was beautiful, fun, and everything I wanted at my wedding. We employed her services early on, and she went through the contract with us thoroughly and was honest about all the fine print. It was really easy since she's easy to talk to and has your best interests in mind. She interviewed us to see what kind of wedding we wanted; what we wanted out of it. Mostly, we wanted it to be fun, and she delivered. In total we met maybe 3 or 4 times, but the communication through email really helped me know what I was supposed to do next; book the venue, book the photographer, etc. We had chosen the package where she would mostly do the work the day of, so that left me to sign up the vendors and do some of the prep work. That doesn't mean she didn't help me during that time; she was very helpful in reviewing the contracts to ensure we weren't getting a bad deal. She's worked with many of the local vendors in the past. I knew I would need help in figuring out what to do at the appropriate time, and Erin helped with that. If I needed her opinion on something, I would email her and she'd respond the day of, or at the very latest, the day after. A few months before the wedding, things really need to move, so she helped put together a list of things we needed to do (order invitations, order wedding favors, figure out what photos we wanted, etc.). Periodically, she would check in to make sure those tasks got completed. The week before was crunch time, although it really didn't feel stressful because Erin had our backs. Everything was ready to go, the timeline was set, all we had to do was show up. The day before we ran through a rehearsal of the ceremony which was super easy and Erin made sure we had the right order for walking down, had the right music playing, and she listened to our preferences. On our wedding day she had the schedules laid out, all we had to do was show up to get ready. When we arrived at the venue to take photos, she made sure our first look photos were perfect. I didn't think it had to be very special, but it really was. We knew she had a limited amount of time to set up at the venue since there was an event earlier in the day, but she made it a priority to meet us and make sure that moment wasn't ruined. Erin had to make sure the flowers got set up, the cake was delivered, the DJ was ready to go, and the decorations were up. It was a lot to accomplish in that short time and she pulled it off with time to spare. Before I walked down the aisle she was there. After the ceremony, it was easy street. We didn't have a firm timeline about when certain things had to happen, but she made sure they did (like the first dance, the garter and bouquet toss, cake cutting, etc.) At the end of the night she was still there helping take down decorations and making sure I got my stuff back (flower vases and usb drives mostly), and if I didn't get it right away, she met with me after the wedding to give it back to me. Would I recommend using Erin to plan your wedding or any event? YES. Don't hesitate. If you think you need help or assistance with your wedding, ask how Erin can help you. You determine how much help you need and she can reliably fill that void. I really feel my wedding day would have suffered if I didn't hire her. It was worth the investment to not have to worry about all those details. If want your wedding done proper, get Erin.

If I could only give 1 piece of advice to any bride it would be, get a REAL, professional wedding planner! And specifically, get Erin as your wedding planner! I worked with Erin for just over a year and I don't know what I would have done without her! She is flexible, able to meet at different places that work for you at all different times of the day. She's prompt on returning your phone calls, texts, and emails. When you're planning a big event you need several different vendors to make it all come together and not all vendors play nicely with others, or even with you! Erin is exceptionally good at dealing with all different types of personality types. She deescalates already tense situations and she's great at helping you gain different perspective if you're frustrated, whether it be with a vendor or even with a family member! Because of Erin’s professional advice and help we were able to enjoy the entire experience of planning a wedding and NOT be stressed about it. When our wedding week arrived I was so confident and comfortable with Erin taking care of the day of collaboration. I enjoyed and trusted Erin so much because she's real, she doesn't tell you what you want to hear, or what you expect to hear, but what you need to hear. My wedding went off without a hitch, at least to my knowledge, and that's how it's supposed to be! Erin worked through the adverse weather conditions with us and worked so hard the day of to make sure our decorations got put up. Everything looked amazing. We had several compliments from our guests and even some vendors about how great our venue looked and how FUN our wedding was! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and all of our friends and family that came to celebrate with us. Matt & Erin make a great team and great friends and they're FUN. 5 stars isn't enough for Blomma Designs!
