I chose Lisa as my wedding florist after meeting with several others because I just KNEW she was the one who would be able to do just what I wanted for my special day. And she did. Lisa worked as our coordinator as well, so not only were my florals beautiful and EXACTLY what I requested, she also seamlessly directed the event and helped me so much with planning our timeline. It was a beautiful day and I would recommend Lisa to anyone I know. Her assistants were a huge help as well, and every time I saw them, they were hard at work!

Lisa exceeded our expectations for our son and his wife's rehearsal dinner and wedding! Libby ( bride) talked with Lisa over the phone and Lisa promptly came to Birmingham for a meeting. I have known Lisa for years and admired her work, but the decision to hire Lisa had to be the brides. Lisa listened to Libby's vision and incorporated the flowers and style she loved! Lisa helped with the layout and design of the Banquet Hall at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral (rehearsal dinner) and Ballroom at Vestavia Country Club. Lisa took care of all the details, both large and small. I have never seen both venues look as lovely as they did for Libby and Ryan's rehearsal dinner and wedding. The bouquets were amazing, especially Libby's! Our guest were WOW'd both nights for this wonderful New Year's Eve wedding!! We were extremely grateful and still are!!

Lisa and Brooke made the stress about wedding flowers all but disappear! They took a trip to the venue to make sure they knew everything about loading/unloading. We put together a Pinterest board, and sent them pictures of everything at the venue we wanted arrangements for. In addition we had a few phone calls to make sure nothing fell through the cracks. Day of, there was a threat of rain at our wedding. They went above and beyond by making sure the inside and outside venue locations were ready to be decorated based on the weather. Everything came together more beautiful that we ever could have hoped. Thanks Lisa for everything!

I had a 15 minute phone conversation with Ms. Thorne and in that short amount of time I went from being super excited to have her work at my wedding, to wondering how she has so many clients when she is as rude as she is. She started by asking my style and what I was looking for, I told her what I liked and disliked, wanted and didn't want. I told her I wanted simple and elegant- not for it to look like a flower patch threw up. I also told her that our mothers decided they didn't want flowers. This is MY wedding so I get to make the decisions, right? Well apparently she has to run the show because she then told me that she would just refer me to someone else because she thinks all the mothers should have flowers and she doesn't do "simple" work and she has an image to keep up and she is going to do it the way she wants. She doesn't want to just hang a few flowers here and there and make it look like an amateur did it. Well news flash lady, I wouldn't have contacted you if I wanted an amateur to do it. I can tell by the look of her website that she does great work, but to just "refer me to someone else" before I've even had a chance to how you pictures and ideas of what I want. Because I said simple, well that's just not what she does, so she doesn't even want to waste her time with my ideas. Even after all of this, I was never rude and I continued to listen to her tell me about HER ideas of simple (again it my wedding right?) She then had the audacity to say "My flower services start at $5000 so I'm not sure if you budgeted that much for flowers" YALL! I have worked in customer service my whole life and the one thing you never do is just assume how much someone can afford. She could've said "My flower services start at $5000 and a deposit of this amount is due to hold your date." She doesn't know me or how much money I have to spend, and the way she said it was so offensive. I would pay double to NOT have to deal with her on MY day. I have never left a review for anything in my life and I've had some pretty bad customer service before, but this is a wedding. The day most women dream about their whole life, and I was not about to let someone else try to make my decisions for me. Her work is beautiful, but I will not be using Thorne and Thistle.

Brash Brow & Lash Bar

I first met Lisa Thorne with Thorne and Thistle at an Alabama Weddings Magazine shoot. I quickly felt very comfortable around Lisa - she was so kind and so knowledgeable. Fast forward to months later, it was time for my big sisters wedding. When considering florists, my first thoughts were Lisa. My sister immediately decided to have Lisa do her flowers after seeing some of her pictures, and talking with her for just a short period of time. Lisa did all of the flowers for the rehearsal dinner and the wedding, and I don’t even have words to describe how beautiful they were. We received the most compliments on how stunning her arrangements were! From the table arrangements, to the bouquets, to the chandeliers, to the cross, swing, and aisle markers, and more, Lisa did an unbelievable job. My sister was extremely pleased with everything Lisa did, and Lisa’s style. Lisa made sure to get all of the details from Lauren in regards to what she wanted, and she gave Lauren exactly that, and then some. We also really appreciated that Lisa would give her input if she had any ideas in particular that she thought would look good. After my sisters wedding, we had many many people ask us for Lisa's contact info so that they could use her as well. I would most definitely recommend using Lisa Thorne (Thorne and Thistle) for all of your flower needs. In addition, we learned that Lisa also offers wedding planning. When we reached out to her about flowers, we had already chosen a wedding planner, however I can confidently say I would recommend Lisa for wedding planning as well. She helped us with many different aspects of wedding planning when we couldn't get answers from our wedding planner, and often offered advice when we asked for her opinion etc. Lisa is truly a kind hearted, genuine, and extremely talented person! I would recommend her services to anyone and everyone.

I cannot say enough about how pleased I was with Lisa at Thorne and Thistle Designs. From our first conversation, I could tell she understood my vision. I haven't been "dreaming of my wedding day since I was little" like most girls, so it was hard for me to put into words or flower lingo what I liked - but I did show her pictures on Pinterest and right away she knew my style and had some AMAZING ideas. It was such a relief to leave our first phone call completely confident that she understood what I wanted and trusting her to also make her own design decisions. Additionally, I told her our budget for flowers and she managed to completely exceed my expectations and keep it within the budget. She offered suggestions to give me the look I wanted but ways to cut the cost. And when I walked into our reception venue, I was blown away! (See pics!) I would highly recommend her to any bride.
