I have never given any company a negative rating before but this experience has been so bad others should be warned, was disappointed I couldn't give them a 0. This company was assigned to fix air conditioning via a home warranty... That was 8 weeks ago and as of today there is still no air. They order parts that immediately go on back order for 2-3 weeks. Never bother to call to sched an appt when the parts are in, they magically appear only after calling and complaining to them. Show up without tools to do the job (if they show up at all bc several times we have rearranged schedules to be available for a service call and no one has come nor has anyone called). Most recent issue, after waiting 2.5 weeks for a part that again showed up only after we called to find out what was going on it magically was 'in'. They scheduled an appt. which they then cancelled and rescheduled. No technician showed up for the rescheduled appt and after waiting the entire 4 hrs (and calling to confirm they were still coming) we called to find out where they were and were then told sorry no part!! Talked to 2 different supervisors that evening who both insisted yes the part was there and that we would be receiving a call the next day to schedule an appt. No call of course so when we called them we were told they couldn't find the part again. They are rude, do not follow thru with commitments, and routinely lie to get you off the phone. Do NOT use this company if you want any kind of service.

Only giving one star because it won't allow a negative number. Run as fast as possible from this company. Inept, disorganized, dishonest. Rapp's came out on service request from American Home Shield to repair leak on bathroom sink and leaking shower head hose. Technician did not fix either. Second technician came out and fixed sink but also did not carry parts with him. Third technician came out today, after we were told for last three weeks that part had been ordered, and surprise NO PART. Three service calls and can't manage to replace the hose on a showerhead. In addition, we paid first tech to adjust legs on dishwasher. After he left, we discovered he had not remounted dishwasher and company will not honor the repair. Total of 6 weeks and still not repaired.

Worst HVAC company I have ever worked with, it took over a month and multiple phone calls by me for Rapp to final get my home warranty to approve replacing my HVAC system that stopped working on October 24th. I went through 3 different service employees over 3 weeks I had to go to their offices before they finally sent out a tech that was able to provide my home warranty the complete information to get me approved for a new heating system. I had no heat through out the entire process and they never even offered space heaters to get us through. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY.

While going through my home warranty I have dealt with this company twice and no longer wish to deal with them. First was when my furnace went out, went this entire winter without heat because they wanted over $3500 after my warranty paid half of the cost of a new furnace. Keith has yet to return my call after calling several times to talk about the issue. Turned off the unit and my thermostat so after going all winter without my heater (used smaller room heaters) I am entering spring/summer without AC. Second time was for my hot water heater, after Michael and another guy (who stated it was his second week on the job) looked at the unit the first time they said they couldn't fix it because of insurance liability issue they called several people and went to see it a second time, they then came back and said that I need a new unit and a new vent system and that neither was going to be covered by warranty. Again another $3500 cost. Later i called the warranty company and Rapp's had not even talked to the warranty company and turns out Michael had closed the ticket. Called the original plumber who installed the unit(since he signed the unit with his name and number back in '12) and he will be coming for a second opinion but quoted me $1500 for a new unit. They never even stepped in the bathroom for the jetted tub and said that was fixed as well. Warranty company stated they contacted them to set up a new appointment but I'm still waiting on that call over a month later.

Hot water heater tank was leaking and needed to be replaced, so I went through home warranty company and got an appointment with Rapp's. The technician (Mike) was overall very helpful in diagnosing the problem and offering a solution. Huge problem was when I asked for itemized quote for parts/labor based on the two options I was given (tank vs. tankless), he would not provide me with one. I will gladly shop around other options if I do not have transparency as a customer into where my out-of-pocket dollars are going.

I can’t review their actual service because they keep rescheduling last minute. We have had 4 appointments with them now. Each one cancelled during the service window provided. They also have not answered the phone when called and I was on hold for over 30 minutes before I just gave up. We have not had ac for 3 weeks, the weather has been in the 90s, and we have a toddler. Do not use this company!

American Home Shield assigned Rapps as the agent to service an Air Conditioning ticket I opened. I received "a" call from an unrecognized number while in meetings and checked my voicemail. Rapps had indeed called however I immediately tried to call back and stayed on hold for 30+ minutes with their auto attendant listening to the same message every 15 seconds saying your call is important to us. Please stay on the line and the next available service repeesentative will take your call in the order it was received or you can leave a voicemail. I tried multiple times each holding for 15 to 20 minutes but no one EVER answers regardless of time I tried to call. I also left a voicemesaage and never received a return call. I also tried sending an Email to them with my inability to reach someone and all my details with no response back. I called AHS back today. The AHS agent also tried to call and received the same lack of response so she reassigned to another Service company today and I already have an appt scheduled... How can they be averaging a 4.4 in ratings???? First step in being a good provider is engaging with the customer and many of us work so they should be expecting that we will have to call back. I wish I could answer every call on fisrt attempt but have a job to do in order to pay for service calls and do not have the time to spend chasing my backside to try and make contact with a service provider...

5 STARS IS NOT ENOUGH!!!! Rapps technicians showed up at my house in the middle of a winter rain storm at 2:30 pm. After not having hot water for a week, Jeremy assured us he will not leave that day until we had running hot water. These guys installed an outdoor tankless unit in 2.5 hours in the pouring rain. I felt bad for them but Jeremy kept his word and we were finally able to take a hot shower that evening. I dealt with Shawn (owner) for the purchase and he was just as genuine of a guy you can talk to. He spoke of the pros and cons of the appliance as I was skeptical of the tankless model, but in the long run, he did not steer me in the wrong direction. I definitely felt he had my best interest in mind. I will always use Rapps for my plumbing and HVAC needs in the future .

Rapp's Heating and Air did not solve the problem with my HVAC. They simply said I needed to use a cheaper filter. The air was blowing (hot) inside, but the unit was silent outside. I had company over the weekend and everyone was miserable being in my hot house. When I called to ask them to speak to manager or to come back to my home, they pushed me back to my home warranty company and stated that a manager was not available and could call me back. I left a message on their voicemail and never heard back. Requesting service via phone with the warranty company was very time consuming and should have been handled by Rapp's as they did not fix the problem the first time.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. They sent out a plumber under our home warranty to address drain clog under the house. After an hour, plumber says the “main line” going out from the house to the city sewer tap is clogged and there is no clean out valve. According to him we have to install clean out valve, that is not covered by warranty, it is a 2 man job that will take a day and cost $2,500. He then leaves while our drains remain clogged and tells my family of four “don’t use any water.” We found out the next day from the City water / sewer that the main line is NOT clogged, the main line ALREADY HAS a clean out valve, and we don’t need anything else installed. Second plumbing company able to clear out clog in 30 minutes. The RAPP plumber apparently thought we were idiots or he didn’t even look for the clean out valve (which was behind a bush next to the house). Either way, they attempted to scam us for $2,500 while leaving our water unusable. Do not trust this company with your plumbing needs.

Terrible, unethical, trying to pull a scam, lies....what else do you want to know? Home warranty company only uses them,m so I am sure they chose the lowest bidder. Tech trying to tell me Freon is burned when it is just a stuck reversing valve. Two other 5 star HVAC companies said no Freon is needed, recycle it and reuse. RAPP's said system takes 10-12 lbs at $85 a pound. Systme does not even hold more than 6 lbs. ALL other companies charge around $25 per lb. (if needed). RAPP's trying to hold me hostage as they desire to sell me a $3000 unit and will not submit diagnosis to the RAPPs home office so warranty company can determine what to pay. RAPP's will never work on my HVAC system, EVER!

Rapp's requested my unit air handler to be replaced because it had a leak The system it is worst off than it was before I spend $1550 in Sept 2018 and now my outside unit don't work nor my EM Heating system when I told the Manger Mike he told me to call my Home Warranty nothing they else can do and don't call Rapp's again . Mike I will not call my Home warranty I will call someone else to try to fix the mess made by you all and then take Rapp's to small claim court to get my money back if they have to replace my air handler is what I stated to him he told well do what I need to do waste your money ok and hung the phone up .My time and money was wasted By Rapp's H/ A to try aging through Legal maters it is worth it this issue will not Die how can you get mad and you made a mess out of the work done Rapp's Mike

The home warranty company sent Rapps out to my home for a leak. It was a small leak that the warranty would not cover. The plumber took it upon himself to call a restoration company, next thing I know they are saying they have to cut my whole ceiling open, sent a storage company to pick up my furniture and tear up the house. Dont trust! They are all buddies and out to get the most out of your insurance.

The 5 star review I am giving is because of Daniel. He was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and easy to work with. He came out for the inspection and to give a quote. The team that was sent by Rapp’s to do the work was just the opposite. I was not happy with the lack of professionalism and rude behavior but I called Daniel who came and saved the day. I would give it a zero. Rapps came into my home 4 times in one month and said nothing was wrong with my HVAC. I had a water leak some where but Rapps tech said no. On the 5th time the tech found the leak which my husband pointed it out. He cut the sheet rock and said he will be back to repair it. A year later no one has came out. Trust I was calling several times a days but no one returned my phone call. Fast forward to this year. My well pumped was inoperable American Home shield sent out Rapps again. Again nothing wrong with my well. This was frustrated we didn't have water. So we didn't want to go through the same problem as previous, three days we bypass American home shield and call the man that install the well. In seconds in told us the tank was blown we had a shortage in the wire. Long story short Rapps has horrible service and incompetence people. I have been in the military 26 plus years. I am spreading the word and my experience with them so they can avoid the problem I had. The well problem was 1st week in March 2019 three days later my pump was fix

Unfortunately my hot water heater needed to be replaced. I have a policy through American Home Shield and Rapp’s was sent out to my house. They tried to charge me over $600 to bring my hot water heater up to code (a stand, an expansion tank, etc.). Keep in mind this apparently didn’t include any labor costs or material costs for the hot water heater because that was covered by American Home Shield. I denied them doing the work and brought the hot water heater up to code through a different contractor costing me $175 (materials+labor). Do your research before using these crooks. They are going to try and charge you way too much.

I was so impressed with how professional these guys were and they left my yard in better shape than it was before they got here. We called around for some pricing first and these guys were average. Great experience. My tech found and fixed the problem very quickly. Whole process took about an hour and he also checked all refrigerant levels and made sure the unit was working properly before leaving. Cleaned up after himself and would highly recommend them

Wonderful experience. Kaleb came out after hours and patched us up for the night as good as possible, He explained options clearly, then followed up properly. He returned and put the final part in when scheduled. He was very courteous and made sure things were kept clean. He also noted other potential problems and made suggestions for future changes. DO NOT use this company! A complete ripoff. Tech came out and diagnosed my hot water heater. He was 100% sure that the heating element was bad and needed to be replaced and that was 100% covered under my home warranty contract thru American Home Shield.....well now this so called company that has an “F” rating with the BBB says it’s going to cost more to replace just the heating element than to replace the entire hot water heater. I questioned that and the next day, oh guess what...now they are saying it has a leak and needs to be replaced because of that. So after everything I’m looking at a $360 addition bill after I’ve already paid the $100 service fee to American Home Shield for bringing my hot water heater “up to code” because Rapp’s insists that the entire thing needs to be replaced when the only thing broke is the heating element. So here I am, 5 days with no hot water and they cannot tell me when it will be fixed or what brand, etc they will be installing. This company is a joke and I will be filing a complaint with the BBB when this is all said and done!

Absolute worst experience ever. I have a home warranty and they were the company's agents. The response was quick so I thought things would go well. However, the first scheduled service call never occurred because the technician never came and never called. We had to call 3 times to get the next called scheduled. This time the technician showed up but said he could not fix the problem and he would need to order a part. Well after two days of no follow up from you, we call again and waited yet another week before another technician showed up (we later found out that the 1st tech quit that same day. Again the tech said he needed to order a part because the other technician had quit and didn't put the part in the system. Never showed again but sent a survey about how we liked their service. This was the most unprofessional company that I have ever dealt with. I would not recommend them to clean my toilet not to mention fix it. Find someone else.

Daniel did a great job fixing the garbage disposal. He was quick and efficient. The only issue I had was that when I spoke to him or asked the questions he’d talk to my boyfriend who is not the home owner nor is his name on the warranty. I think he was trying to be gentleman-like as though it’s men’s work but I handle all of my own business myself. However, it didn’t take away from the quality of the work. Just something he should think about in the future.

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL! Unfortunately our Home Warranty will not let us change. They left us without air for 2 weeks last time, told us information about our air that wasn't true. They told us we needed an electrician when we didn't. They said they will give us the cost for our electrician if we remove our bad review. Now I am unsure that these reviews on here are even true. Do not use this company. I hope they go out of business. This is our second time dealing with them, for heat now. They haven't called us after 10 days and lied saying they tried to get in touch with them. Please be aware of the bad reviews for this company. They are the true ones.

They came out to my house a few months ago to fix my air conditioner. The technician was quick, courteous, and fixed a problem that has stumped several previous companies. If I could I would give this company 0 stars they have been an absolute nightmare to work with. They came out to my property to fix a pluming issues with my water pressure and now my sink is leaking. I have called to have them come out to fix the problem and it has been a week and a half of rude plumbers and no shows now they are saying they can't fix it unless I pay $1,300 to fix the problem they caused. I have called and asked to speak to the owner 3 times and he will not call me back. I have never worked with such a horrible company so I would advise you not use them!!

This is the second time we have had to use Rapps for repairs because of our home warranty. Both times have been an absolute nightmare to get them to come out. The first time they were supposed to come out between 4-8p, the tech sent me a text at 9:30p and said he could be there in a half hour. I told him that it was too late and we would have to reschedule. When they called me back to reschedule the earliest they could do was 5 days later. Now this is the second time they are coming out to fix the same issue, the dispatcher told me they would be out between 2-6p. I just got a phone call at 4:30p saying that not only would they not be out today, but the earliest they can come out would be 6 days from now. Whatever you do, choose a different company for your plumbing needs.

Rap’s was sent to my home from my warranty program for a leak.It took three trips and three techs to complete the job because the first one couldn’t tell where the leak was coming from after cutting a hole in my ceiling. The second tech came two days later found it in seconds “repaired it”so I thought we left out together only to return to my home to the pipe he put in bowing and leaking even worse. Rap’s sent a third tech come out to fix that leak he stated there was a second leak and changed o ut the same pipe as if I didn’t notice I took pictures. But Prior to fixing the leak he refused to complete the job unless I paid an additional $75 for the suppose it second leak. He also put an additional three holds in my wall one being a kick. I have called to speak with the owner of the company who has yet to return my call it been about a week and a half ago. I honestly am not sure if he even receive the message because his assistant D was very rude and Unprofessional I’m not sure if she relayed the message to him at all. But at this time I have put a case in with my warranty company. This has been my worst experience!

These guys a shady! In my opinion these guys are like the unscrupulous auto mechanic that wants to charge you for stuff you don't need or is not required just to jack up the bill. I have rental homes and have dealt with them on several occasions through American Home Shield but no more. I have filed a complaint with American Home Shield and have told them if they ever send Rapp's out to another one of my properties that I would cancel all my contracts. Take my advice and stay away from these guys.

Absolute worst experience ever. I have a home warranty and they were the company's agents. They treat customers from the home warranty company horribly. The response time to call you back is quick but the appointments are generally a week or more away. When you have no A/C in the hot season, can you wait a week? No! In addition, their employees that come service your house try to push stuff not covered by the warranty and want to make money on the side. There is no other way around it though, unfortunately I am writing up this company on the BBB and reaching out to the home warranty executive office to remove them from approved contractors.

Just a few complaints about this company just to warn you guys what you will be expecting. My sewage backed up in November and they reworked the piping from my house to the street and told me the charge. A few things I was not expecting: 1.) My yard is still torn up and it has been over 2 weeks and they still have not buried anything (told me the inspector needs to inspect it, as far as I know he has not been by but no worries they will be by soon to bury everything). Hopefully the weather had something to do with the delay and the inspector inspected it days after the install but I have no idea. 2.) They didn't tell me they opened an account under my husband's name at a bank called Synchrony Banking to make payments on this work. We tried to close it and just pay the company but that will not work because we now owe a balance to this bank. The price they gave us is not the same price we owe to the bank. Apparently it costs a little extra to open up the account. Just make sure to read the contract before you sign and maybe a little bit of research about the company you are picking. I normally never give reviews about companies but this one took us by surprise because our home insurance selected them.

Rapps doesn't care about customer service !! sent a tech to my home on Tuesday who said he repaired my HVAC, went to turn it on Wednesday and it is still not working. Called Thursday morning to get a recall appointment and was told they could not get me on the schedule till Monday. It's now Thursday afternoon and my home is 80 degrees with windows open and they refuse to do anything about it. Stay away they don't care about the customer.

Had this company come out to do some work on my AC unit July of last year. I turned the unit off after 2 months and just turned it back on earlier this week. It did not work. Had another company come out and look at it and there is a leak where Rapp replaced the compressor. Contacted Rapp and they said they were under new management and I would be charged for repair and new freon. Spectacular customer service. I would not recommend this company to anyone who is in the market. I would rather pay another company than give them another dollar. The customer service rep was also extremely rude.

IF you are OK with waiting SIX DAYS to get hot water with an AHS warranty-this is your company. I called every day, and then multiple times a day, trying to get service. I understand they have only ONE service rep for NC and they seem to think this kind of wait is OK. It certainly is not for me. Agents at the office were rude at times and completely unhelpful. We needed a part, a heating element, for a common hot water heater. They seem to not have even common parts in stock nor any response to when or whether the part was ordered. I will not renew my AHS warranty if this is the kind of service agents they provide. This was the only approved provider for our area.

Technician came out for dripping faucet. First technician broke his Allen wrench inside the faucet handle. He didn’t mention this and left. A week later the second technician came out and said he couldn’t get the faucet handle off because there was something broke inside. He would have to cut through the drywall and he wouldn’t be able to repair the hole he cut. Then he said that we didn’t have a pressure regulating valve installed and that why there was a leak. What should’ve happened..there is a pressure regulating valve, this was a false statement. Because the first technician broke his Allen wrench off inside the faucet handle, I had to replace the faucet handle myself WITHOUT cutting through the drywall. The repair for a dripping faucet is to replace the cartridge. Before calling Rapp’s Heating & Air, watch a YouTube video and save yourself from being charged for a visit that fixes nothing.

If I could give this company a 0, I would. I first encountered this company due to a furnace issue. I have a home warranty, American Home Shield, and this was the only contractor they have a service contract with in the area. Rapp's is in a DIFFERENT STATE! They are driving over an hour to diagnose and "fix" the problem. After they did the initial diagnostic, they needed a new part. They stated they would call and schedule a time to fix the part. No return call, no follow up. 6 months later after calling warranty company, Rapp's had stated the ticket was closed and the issue was fixed. My home warranty tried to charge another service fee when they never actually fixed the problem. Issue 2. 4 months later furnace stops working again. They state I need a new unit. I get a call from my home warranty and they state SEVERAL items are not covered under the policy. Confused, due to the fact that if a unit breaks, the company is supposed to replace it. That is the entire purpose of a home warranty. I am told that they will cover the furnace and labor, but there are close to 3k dollars worth of work that isn't covered. Rapp's wanted to charge me $400.00 for permits and when I called code enforcement, permits for the county, a permit is only $50, which would cover anything under the roof of the house. Rapp's wanted to charge me 2 separate permit fees. Seems like they are over charging the end use in order to get the loss they incur from providing a discounted rate to the home warranty. Buyer BEWARE. These people are crooks. I am contacting local authorities and CFPB and BBB

After being rescheduled not once, not twice, but three times, the tech never showed up on the third time. After this they have taken to no longer responding to messages left and not even answering our calls anymore. We attempted to call several times at many different times over three days and after spending long periods of time on hold they never answer and so we left messages they haven’t yet replied to a week later.

We had the unfortunate circumstance of walking in to our garage Friday night only to interrupt our water heater giving up the ghost. In a controlled panic, we did not have a go-to plumber/plumbing company for help but were referred to Rapp's by a friend from church who had recently had other plumbing needs. We received a very good quote, followed by prompt delivery and installation of a quality commercial grade water heater (State Industries). The man arrived to perform the service was friendly, patient, and most importantly, he knew what he was doing. Had our old tank removed and the new unit in place and performing in less than two hours. The gentleman has been plumbing for 27 years and was a problem solver and very efficient. Rapp's was easy to communicate with from appointment setup through arrival updates the day of service. We received two updates prior to our appointment time updating us on the current location of the plumber and providing an accurate arrival time (his goal was to not give us a big window of time and then keep us tied to the house all day waiting on them). Overall, we were extremely satisfied with the work performed, professionalism, timeliness, and value. If there is another need in the future, we will call Rapp's first.

Rapps Heating, Air and Plumbing was dispatched by my home services company, HSA, due to a cracked pipe under my home. As I turned on the outdoor faucet, water started gushing from the hole where the facet is located. I turned off the main water valve and called HSA. I received an email from HSA confirming my claim stating they were dispatching Rapps. I immediately checked Rapps’ reviews online, which were dismal. With one exception they were almost all one star. Even BBB had number of complaints about this company. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to use Rapps, who sent Joe, their plumber, out. Joe had to access the pipe from the crawl space under my home and crawl from the back of the house to the front to access the pipe. Joe made a temporary repair and said he would need HSA’s approval to finish the job. Since I had received no follow-up calls, I called HSA and was told that Joe advised them the pipe broke due to “excess force” and not normal wear and tear. I am 75 y.o., and my home is 35 y.o. I don’t see how I could have used excessive force to turn on an outdoor faucet, since there was no problem turning it on and off. In order for me to damage that old pipe using excessive force, I would have had to crawl from the back of my home to the front to access the pipe. I have never been under my house, let alone caused damage to a pipe. The damage is definitely due to normal wear and tear. By telling HSA that excessive force was used, my claim was denied, and for Rapps to come out and finish the job, they would get more than double the payment that HSA would have received. I believe they would rather have the claim denied and be paid directly, and that both HAS and their contractors benefit by denying claims, after customers have paid the $110 fee to send someone out. I will warn everyone I know against using Rapps, and HSA, and have cancelled my HSA contract due to their use of sub-par contractors and poor business practices.

I am so happy with the service I received from Rapp's. The young man who came to replace my MIL's faucet (I'm sorry I forgot his name) was so kind and patient. I asked him a lot of questions and he was patient enough to answer them all. He also explained to me step by step what he was doing. I purchased my own faucet and the hose was too short. He ran out to Home Depot to get the correct hose I needed. He even cleaned up the mess he made (although I told him I would do it). He went beyond the call of duty in my opinion and he definitely represented the company in the best light. If the owner of the company can see this review please look up my service ticket and give the young man a raise! I will definitely be recommending Rapp to anyone that need a plumber.
