On Thursday, evening I went to turn on my ceiling fan light and sparks flew out of the outlet on the wall. That's it, I called Mr. Electric. I had never used this company before, I just thought the name was weird. Thought I would give them a try. Wow!! I was impressed. They did a free safety check and we found out my house was so far out of code, it was dangerous. They quoted me a price to get everything fixed, which was very reasonable, and they started work that day. Jeremy, has been one of the best commercial and residential Electricians/Professionals I have ever dealt with over the past 20+ years in Columbia. We had him work on our business Camp Bow Wow, he was on time, if not early. His ideas on what we were trying to accomplish plus being cost conscious for us. Mr. Electric and in particular their technician Jeremy Halady came through for us when we were in a serious pickle. After a minor electrical fire we were left without a working Lift pump for our septic system meaning for us limited running water and bathroom use. Jeremy came out the next morning and fixed the problem for us by installing a brand new above ground electrical box. He explained everything in detail, also providing us with pictures of the entire process and even pointed out what our Plumbing service needs to improve in addition to his work. Customers need to be aware that the service includes (or requires) a full home inspection that will lead to a list of services that are needed to bring your home up to the latest codes based on the year of construction and current age of your electrical system. This is not high pressure but you will spend time on this presentation as well as the issue you called them for assistance with.

Caring customer service. I was so happy with my service from Mr Electric. The technician, Jeremy, arrived early and was professional and respectful. He had a mat with him and booties to ensure that he did not track anything into my home . I had a few minor problems that he corrected without charging me. He explained that there was a service charge for a diagnostic and when I could not reach my husband to determine if I should move ahead he accompanied me down to the dock where the problem was and fixed the issue. He worked on calibrating the dimmer for my overhead LED lights. Most companies would insist on charging the diagnostic fee or minimum house call but none here. I am thrilled with such great service and will use Jeremy and Mr Electric again!

My apologies for just now writing this. Back in July or August of last year, I asked Mr Electric to look at a project on Queen Street in Columbia for an elder friend of mine. When the electrician arrived, he did not greet or introduced himself to my friend and had his back towards him. I tolerated the electrician questioning and lecturing me twice about me but his behavior toward my friend was unnecessary. You can be the best knowledgeable electrician in the state but poor social skills is still unprofessional. Manners make the man.

The repairman was polite, professional and on time. I was annoyed with the company, not the repairman. I called for a simple repair yet he spent 2 hours (free of charge, but apparently required by his company) inspecting my house. Then I was presented with a $11,000 estimate for upgrades that included a whole house surge protector that he overlooked. After this I decided not to use them for the repair because I feel they are trying to drum up business. (I have a commercial grade system designed by an Elect. Engineer) After 2 hours, my exterior light bulbs were not change and the chandelier was not removed so that i could take it for rewiring.
